This week we're joined by Kelsey Beckert!Kelsey Beckert. Performer. Teacher. Caregiver. Student. A true jack of all trades and master of nothing. After returned to New York City after touring all over North America on two National Tours for the better part of 3 years, Kelsey desired a career change. (Quarter-life crisis much?) At that time, her love for working with children was beginning to surpass her love for performing. It was also at that time when she heard about the field of Child Life. Instinctually, she knew that being a certified child life specialist was what she wanted to do. But, life kept going, she kept performing, and that new dream was placed on the back burner. Cue COVID-19. After obtaining her Yoga Teacher certification during the lockdown, Kelsey was still not satisfied. Who would've thought that a year into a global pandemic was when she finally found the clarity (and confidence!) to pursue that dream of being a certified child life specialist? Now 18 months and 7 online courses later, she is well on her way to obtaining this new career and new life for herself. After letting go of her doubts, fears, and insecurities about this career shift (a big thank you to deleting social media apps off of her phone), Kelsey is happier than ever and living the life that she always imagined.Kelsey's Links:  IG: @kelsey_eileenFacebook: Kelsey Beckert Follow us on Instagram: @Jackofalltrades_podcastEmail us at: jackofalltradespodcast2020@gmail.comFollow our Host, Sarah Bishop on her Social Media: Instagram: personal: @sarahpbishopteaching: @singwithbishTik Tok: @singwithbishAudio Engineering: Amanda BishopHost: Sarah BishopIntro Song "Strong"- written by Sarah Bishop, Intro Song "Strong"- arranged and performed by Laura Crytzer

The highs and lows of acting, creating freely and the “f*** it” attitude…This week, we talk to Phil., a multi-faceted singer, rapper and actor. His experiences and wisdom resonate through this amazing conversation! More info on Phil.: PHIL. At just 23 years old Phillip Johnson-Richardson, aka Phil., has already established himself as a promising singer, rapper, and actor. But the journey wasn’t always easy for Phil., his mental fortitude and meteoric rise can be attributed to the perseverance gained when his family suddenly fell homeless and found themselves sleeping on a relative’s garage floor. The hardship dialed up his drive and appreciation for the arts, so he pushed himself even harder. The Charlotte-bred quadruple threat then honed his raw talents at the University of Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, where he graduated from the musical theatre program in 2018. Immediately after graduation he landed his first role, joining the Chicago company ensemble of the sold-out musical phenomenon Hamilton, playing various characters including it’s namesake Alexander Hamilton. Since then Phil. moved to New York City and found a successful acting career, with appearances on tv shows Chicago PD, Proven Innocent, and The Other Two and horror film Haunt. He was cast as a series regular on the new Apple TV+ show Little Voice created by Sara Bareilles and JJ Abrams which launches on July 10th, 2020. While acting has taken the forefront of his rapidly evolving career, Phil. remains dedicated to his passion for music. His original songs pull from his Hip-Hop and R&B influences, From Lauryn Hill to John Legend to Drake and beyond. Phil.’s ability to effortlessly flow from confident rhymes to impassioned singing allows him to fuse his dualities into one artistic persona. That incredible range of talent is seen across his music and best showcased in his upcoming EP ‘Different Cities’. The project includes turn up Hip-Hop tracks like the first single “Watch Out” while also showing his softer, if not seductive, R&B side on tunes like “One That I Want.” With a highly anticipated new series and groundbreaking EP in the wings, it’s clear Phil. is about to rise. Hosting school, relationships, self worth, intuitive “cliff jumping”This week, we dive into energetics, self help and manifestation with Salwa Kyobe, a coach for Lacy Phillip’s program “To Be Magnetic.” Salwa and Sarah met in NYC while they both worked at a yoga studio, and it was friendship at first sight! Salwa’s Coaching Bio: Shadow Integration • Releasing Avoidant Patterns• Inner Child HealingWith a new found commitment towards emotional health, Salwa found this work during a career rock bottom. Salwa always says that this work found her, and by saying yes, she chose herself. TBM has allowed her to confront her fears, uncover low self worth patterns, and identify her authentic needs. Salwa has manifested a one bedroom apartment in New York City, a partner, an expansive career, finding her voice, and more. She specializes in helping people discover the areas in their lives where they play small, and how that affects their manifestations. Everything is connected, and every action has a ripple effect. She shows her clients where they are not showing up for themselves and how to integrate the underlying shadow in order to operate from high self worth. Salwa’s previous avoidant tendencies kept her from freeing and healing her inner child. She has a knack for helping people face what they are avoiding, and how it roots back to their core needs during childhood. If you find yourself avoiding your authentic needs, shrinking instead of expanding, judging others and yourself, and repeating low self worth patterns, a session with Salwa would be a great fit. ( From To Be Magnetic’s Website* ) Here are some explanations of language/ terms used in the podcast from Lacy Phillip’s program ‘To Be Magnetic.’ : Expanders: a person that helps you “see to believe” that what you want is possible, and that you can have it tooTests: an invitation from the Universe/ God/ Source (whatever you subscribe to) that determines if you will make a life choice from a place of low self worth or high self worth Rut: dog paddling energetically, being stuck in negative cycles and not manifesting what you want Rock bottom: exactly what it sounds like. When the ‘Universe’ shakes you into needing to change somethings about your lifeHuman Design: combines astrology, I Ching, Kabbalah and the Chakras. Human Design was originated by Alan Robert Krakower who published a book called The Human Design System under the pseudonym Ra Uru Hu in 1992.
