The Rich Zeoli Show- Full Episode (12/19/2024): 3:05pm- F.A.A. Finally Bans Drones from Flying Near Critical Infrastructure in NJ. Tracey Tull of The New York Times reports: “The Federal Aviation Administration has issued a monthlong ban on drone flights over a large swath of New Jersey, the first broad prohibition of its kind since the authorities began investigating a spate of sightings last month that set off fear and speculation. The ban began late on Wednesday and will continue through Jan. 17, according to an F.A.A. alert. The notification cited ‘special security reasons' for prohibiting flights in airspace near 22 New Jersey communities, including three of the state's largest cities, Camden, Elizabeth and Jersey City.” You can read the full article here: https://www.nytimes.com/2024/12/19/nyregion/faa-bans-drone-flights-new-jersey.html 3:10pm- Rich wonders: why did the F.A.A. decide to ban drones from flying near critical infrastructure all of a sudden? And why didn't they do this weeks ago when New Jersey residents first started reporting sightings of mysterious drones? Rich suspects the ban will do absolutely nothing to prevent drones from pestering NJ residents. 3:20pm- After pressure from Donald Trump, J.D. Vance, and Elon Musk, the massive 1,547-page stopgap spending bill was pulled from the House floor. With the proposed bipartisan continuing resolution bill seemingly shelved, Congress will need to craft a new piece of legislation in order to avoid a government shutdown at midnight on Friday. 3:40pm- Late night host Jimmy Kimmel proudly declared he has “Trump Derangement Syndrome”—and wonders why more people don't have “TDS.” No wonder his ratings aren't impressive. He was the one who insisted Washington was a den of drug-fueled orgies and war-on-drug leaders doing bumps of coke in front of him. Did you WATCH the Hunter Biden hearing? Did you WATCH the Trump Town Hall on Fox? Did anything any Republican say make sense to you? Because not only is the answer "no" but the more frightening reality is that everything Trump said, and everything James Comer said, and Nancy Mace, and Marjorie Taylor Greene, and all the other Republicans, made perfect sense to THEM. And what kind of thing causes you to mistakenly believe that your hallucinations seem perfectly normal to everybody else? And just to add in Cawthorn's other charge - it wasn't just drugs it was atypical sex. Greene showing more pornographic pictures of Hunter Biden? Nancy Mace referring to his balls? Is THIS the explanation of the behavior of... ALL REPUBLICANS? GOOD GOD WE NEED TO HEAR MORE FROM MADISON CAWTHORN. B-Block (15:20) THE WORST PERSONS IN THE WORLD: No more itinerant laborers because of the animus towards migrants? This Indiana state rep has the solution: let kids quit school to go work in the fields at 14. And to help them not miss it, this Florida county has banned the dictionary. And to show you what you can become when you stop learning after the 8th Grade, there's Aaron Rodgers, who actually got himself fired by ESPN yesterday. C-Block (23:00) Giving Credit Where Credit Is Due and an explanation for today's comparative brevity. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Dr. Tony Evans, a Christian minister and author, recently published his new book, “Kingdom Politics: Returning God to Government,” which offers America a biblical solution. Jason considers the true cost of America's reimagining, reshaping, and disruption of the nuclear family. While some may see Evans' answers as a radical solution, the recent Wawa store looting in Philadelphia was a prime example of an already radical society. Critics may respond to Evans' answers with, “What about the separation of church and state?” Our culture and the manipulative Democratic Party are fooling America and the traditional family structure. They have stolen the trust of the people and instilled fear in order to make us rely on our government for solutions that were given long ago. All Republicans aren't necessarily Christians, so their moral and ethical differences may cause them to clash with one another. So why does Evans offer a biblical solution to worldly problems? The answer is simple. “Whoever owns the family owns the future” is how Evans puts it. This statement couldn't be any truer. In today's episode, Jason and “Fearless” contributor Dave Shannon discuss Evans' many answers for America. Should Christians be unaffiliated with Democrats or Republicans? Does justice start inside or outside the womb? Should America incentivize married families? The intent of Evans' book is to inspire believers to think more critically about how they use their votes. This gave Jason much to ponder. It also inspires in him a radical solution: How do we return God to government?   We want to hear from the Fearless Army!! All Republicans feign outrage over the Democrat war on energy, but I trace back their support for the premise of those policies for a generation. They are still helping Democrats pass new green fascist bills to this day. We are going to pay dearly with quality-of-life issues in the coming months. They did the same with COVID by agreeing to the premise of the policies from day one. And speaking of COVID fascism, we're joined by civil rights attorney Brian Festa of We the Patriots USA, who discusses a range of lawsuits he is working on for the forgotten Americans crushed by vaccine mandates. He is also working on lawsuits for those denied ivermectin and for doctors losing their licenses for speaking the truth. Finally, he previews the first lawsuit against a school board for retaliating against students who opposed critical race theory. Here Michael Moore sends the word out to all that those who seek to take rights away from women shall not succeed and will be defeated in this fall's election. Voters in Kansas came out in droves on Tuesday to tell the Supreme Court where they could go. Their message to the rest of us is clear: We have 3 months to work as hard as we can to save our Democracy. All Democrats must sign a pledge to make Roe v Wade the law of the land — and to eliminate the filibuster. All Republicans who voted against certifying the legal results of the 2020 election must go to wherever traitors go. The House today passed legislation that would protect access to reproductive health care, including the ability to travel across state lines for an abortion, as part of Democrats' efforts to minimize the consequences of the Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade last month. One bill, the Women's Health Protection Act, would enshrine the protections of Roe v. Wade into law. The House already passed the bill last year, but it did not advance in the Senate vote in May. The House passed the bill, 219-210, prompting applause from Democrats in the chamber. All Republicans and Rep. Henry Cuellar (D-Tex.) voted against the measure. Another bill, the Ensuring Women's Right to Reproductive Freedom Act, would reaffirm the right for someone seeking an abortion to travel freely across state lines. The House passed that measure, 223-205, with three Republicans — Adam Kinzinger (Ill.), Fred Upton (Mich.) and Brian Fitzpatrick (Pa.) — joining all Democrats in backing the bill. This is part 2 of 2 of my conversation with Matthew Sheffield. If you haven’t checked out last week’s episode, you may want to do that here:Parker Molloy: A lot of criticism of Democrats seems to ignore the asymmetric nature of partisan media. There's a massive right-wing infrastructure in place that can keep the same topic and headlines for an indefinite amount of time. This makes it easy to pick a topic re-alert invented to hammer away at for their own political goals, and I think we saw that recently in Virginia about critical race theory and all of that. And you have people like James Carville offering advice like stop the wokeness, but what he seems to miss is it's not Democrats who are pushing these narratives. If Fox News wants to spend every night between now and the next election claiming that Biden quadrupled everyone's taxes or made it illegal to breathe oxygen, they can, and some people will believe it and they'll repeat it.The Democrats who lost these recent elections, they didn't run on critical race theory or defund the police or anything like that, or LGBTQ issues, which, trust me, I wish the Democrats were as pro-LGBTQ as right-wing media make them out to be. But I don't know what they're supposed to do, or even more importantly, what legitimate news outlets are supposed to do to counter this. If Democrats weigh in on every nonsense issue that comes up... As we're recording this, we're in day two or three of them freaking out about Big Bird. There's a new target every day that gets thrown out there. If they weigh-in, they lose because they're weighing in on something as trivial as Big Bird. If they ignore it, it just builds up and so all of it's a long way to ask you what... How do you fight back against that when the infrastructure is so... It's a very strong infrastructure that right-wing media has built. You have Fox and Gateway Pundit and Daily Caller and Daily Wire and all of that; they keep bouncing the same ideas back and forth. Oh, commentary from a Daily Wire contributor turns into a Fox and Friends segment with that person, which then gets put on Daily Caller. It's this very incestuous, basically. It's an echo chamber. And people often talk about there being, "Oh, the liberal bubble, get out of your liberal bubble." That was something we heard over and over and over after 2016, and then after 2020 there was a big push to, "People have to get out of their liberal bubble," again. The answer is always people on the left need to do this. It's never people on the right need to get with reality. That's never something that gets brought into it, and that's one way I feel like mainstream outlets are failing us is that they don't realize, or they refuse to urge people on the right to maybe be less extreme. You hear after the recent elections, there's been this push, hey, oh, does Joe Biden need to move to the right? Has he been too extreme? He hasn't really done anything extreme. The policies he's proposed have generally been pretty well supported. There's nothing crazy in there, especially when you consider that when Republicans passed the tax bill in 2017, it had something like a 30% approval rating. It was super low and they passed it anyway. And it remained unpopular, but they didn't care.Matthew Sheffield: Well, there's a lot to unpack there.Oh yeah, I'm sorry. That went on forever on my end. The first thing I would say is that after Republicans lose elections, they don't think, well how can we move to the center? What is the message that we can say that will make people like us? They don't do that. They never do that. In fact, what they do is to say, "How can we change the environment so that our ideas can propagate better?" And nobody on the left does that. And part of that is why I started my website, Flux, to try to focus on some of these larger issues and larger trends. In terms of Christian nationalism and the Republican mind, I just did a long interview and discussion about how this works. The Left Behind novels. People have heard of them but did you know that they were written by the... from one of the co-founders of the Council for National Policy? No, I didn't.Which is a right-wing networking organization. The Left Behind novels are designed as political propaganda. That's what they're for; that's the point of them. But people just think, well look at this stupid moron Kirk Cameron movies and whatnot. Of course it's done. Whatever. Understand-Yeah, that God's Not Dead; that whole series of movies, too. It's all the same.Yeah, yeah, exactly. Yeah, of course it's dumb, but you have to go to the next step which is what is the point of these things? Why do they exist? How many people are reading them? And in the case of the Left Behind, those things have sold over 100 million copies.Yeah. Which, in fairness, it's a cool premise for a book, but it's definitely... I feel like it's a cool premise that could've been done in a less super propaganda type way, which I guess that just becomes the Leftovers.Yeah, the end of the world, Satan trying to kill everyone or the demons or whatever. Hell, that's every f*****g superhero.Yeah, it's true.Marvel literally has a god character, Thor, in its pantheon of superheroes. Yeah, it is a cool premise, for sure, but people have to understand what does it... The way that it's executed is designed to tell the audience who reads the books or watches the films or whatever that Democrats are the literal, not metaphorical, literal servants of Satan. Yep, that's... Yeah. And that reality that there are 10s of millions of people who think this. Have you ever seen that discussed on cable news? No.I don't think ever.No. And if it was brought up, people would get slammed for, "Oh, your generalizing," which, okay, but if one Democrat somewhere saying, "We should defund the police," gets turned into, "This is what Democrats believe," there's no... No one goes, "All Republicans believe that forest fires are started with a Jewish space laser," like Marjorie Taylor Greene said, but that's kind of how things are when it comes to you find one fringe-type character on the left and that becomes this is what Democrats believe, this is what the left believes.Yeah, or even in the case of Black Lives Matter, there were some acts of arson or criminality that were conducted, but if you act... I actually was watching the... I live in Long Beach, California; I was watching some webcam footage that people had, the public webcams, and I saw the protests. They were in an area and then they left, the protesters left. And then some people drove in from who knows where and then broke into a store. They had nothing to do with these protests, they were just looters and were not affiliated with the groups. But nobody reported that.Yeah. Well, and also with that, there was this narrative last year as that was happening, "Oh, Democrats support riots and mobs and violence and looting and burning," but I don't know, there might have been a couple who were outspoken on the more extreme ends of whatever was happening, but for the most part, Democrats were like, "Violence is bad, violence is wrong. No violence. Stop it." That sort of thing. But it's-Well, and then, yeah... Oh, sorry. There was this idea that Joe Biden was... these were Joe Biden fans. No. No one who goes and calls themselves an anti-fascist is a Joe Biden fan. They hate Joe Biden.Yeah. Joe Biden, he's the middle of the road. I don't know. He's, "Is Pepsi okay?" as a person, you know?Mm-hmm (affirmative). Yeah. That sort of thing. He's no one's first choice. Yeah. But I would say, though, that, yeah, I don't think, though, that the mainstream media is adequately positioned to cover this. And Democrats and democratic leaders and funders and activists need to understand that the mainstream media will never be up to this task. There is nothing that you can say to them because most of them operate... Their training is basically show up in a building and try to find people and ask them about legislation. That's the only thing they know how to do. They don't know-Repeat whatever gets told to them, which that's one of those things that, especially during the Trump era, was pretty obnoxious because you'd have respectable mainstream reporters tweeting out whatever nonsense Trump said that day or whatever-Yeah, "I had the biggest inauguration attendance ever."Yeah. One guy who used to do that a lot was this CBS reporter, Mark Knoller, where he would just say nonsense. Trump would say nonsense and he would just type it up and send it out and everyone would be like, "Why are you doing this? You understand that this is straight-up untrue. You don't need to share it word-for-word without saying-“Are you a stenographer?”Yeah, well exactly. And then he... I forgot, there was-He retired, actually.Yeah, he retired and then immediately started popping up in the replies of some... I forgot who it was but some democratic lawmaker said something that was a slight exaggeration and he popped in to go, "Actually..." And it's like, where was this guy? Where was this guy the past four years? But-Yeah. Well yeah, so basically what has to be done is that there has to be multiple organizations started who will not only document the lies but also actively push back against them and then also try to stay in touch with the democratic base and get them to be engaged and continue to be engaged, then also to... And then there also need to be groups that are out there telling people who vote Republican, "This is who you actually are supporting when you support these people," because I can tell you so many people who I know, they have no idea. I personally didn't know about this stuff and I worked in media commentary and analysis and I didn't know how crazy these people were. And so the mainstream media isn't going to report it because they are so upset. The only thing that they can understand is an elected politician said this. And sometimes they will debunk it, maybe. But most of these people in the right-wing ecosystem are not elected politicians, and that's by design. Charles Koch, he actually did try to run for president, actually, I think it was 1980, and he got completely destroyed because no one likes their ideas. They don't care about public opinion. They're not going to put themselves out there on the ballot. And so you need to understand that these activists, that these donors are the actual powers behind the right. The politicians themselves are literally just window dressing; that's all they are. And in fact, Reverend [Norquist 00:56:40], who is one of the most powerful and wealthy right-wing activists out there, been around forever, has said, "The only thing we want in a president is a monkey able to sign legislation that we write," basically. That's what he said. And that is their attitude. This guy has been around in politics literally since the '80s at the epicenter of Republican politics. You have to understand if you're a reporter that that's who you should be covering or paying attention to. But again, you can't count on the mainstream media to understand-They're so set in their ways and stubborn, even now after the entire world has been working remotely, not in offices for two years, if you go to any mainstream media publication and look at their job listings, they'll all be like, "Must live in New York, must live in DC." It's like, did you not pay attention to any f*****g thing that you yourself experienced? The answer is no, they did not. If they can't even learn from their own experience in their own industry, you can't count on them, so don't try them.It reminds me of those stories of people who had really serious COVID and then survived, and they're still not getting the vaccine. It's like, dude, how? How are we here? How did we end up there? Here's an example I was thinking about from last week. There was this segment that CNN ran during New Day that was about... It was a trip to the grocery store with a family of 11. First off, the average size of an American family's two point something. It's very small, not 11, so right there you're not talking about the average American family in any way, shape or form. The family they spoke with lived in Texas so they flew a reporter down to Texas because when they aired it, he was in New York, so they sent him down to Texas to meet with this specific family to go shopping with them for a piece to illustrate how Americans are struggling to pay the bills with the way inflation is going. And then when you looked up the people who were being interviewed in these stories, they were very clearly pretty partisan. That's fine. They had Facebook posts about, oh, gas hasn't been this high since, well, the last time a Democrat was in office, which is not true. But beyond that, the story comes out and there were a number of false claims in it, which could've just... They didn't go down there and film three-and-a-half minutes of footage, they filmed probably an hour at least, and they could've left out portions where one of the family members said things like, "Oh, milk went from $1.99 up to $2.79 this year." It did not go up 80 cents. It did not increase by 40%, which is what the argument was there. And when you're buying 12 gallons a week, that's a lot of milk, yes. Yeah, when you're buying 12 gallons a week even at the amount that you're talking about, that's $9 which, yeah, adds up but it's not necessarily a lot, a lot, I guess. But the whole story hinged on that where they also said, "Oh, well if in June $1 was worth $1, now it only has 70 cents worth of the same buying power," which is not true, obviously. That would be the worst inflation in the country's history if in five months you had 30% of the purchase power of the US dollar disappearing. But CNN left those in there, didn't challenge any of the statements and aired the segment. And when people pushed back on it, when people said, "These things that she said were false and you included them in the segment without really challenging them at all," they got angry. The person who reported it out who flew down to Texas to meet with this family, the person who did that went and called people who were criticizing him a******s on Twitter. Now, that's not something that... I don't know, CNN has a history of firing people for tweeting things that are bad or for saying things that are controversial. You had Reza Aslan, he lost his show because he tweeted that Trump was a piece of s**t, which okay, that's fair if you want to fire someone for that, but then you have this dude calling your audience a******s for correcting misinformation that was put out there. It's frustrating because there are very, very clearly separate rules that the right is allowed to abide by and the left has to abide, sort of like how the New York Times will buckle under pressure to bend over backwards to try to appease right wing criticism. They'll bring in... Oh, let's have Josh Hawley or Tom Cotton come in and write op eds for us. Let's invite Eric Erikson to write an op ed for us about why we need to come together after he took a page of the New York Times and shot bullets into it. These sorts of things that-Well, and a guy who called a Supreme Court Justice a pig f****r.Yeah. Well, I think it was a goat-f*****g pedophile. That was, I think, what he said. Yeah.Whatever it was, yeah-Yeah, it was not good.... about civility. It was a lot. And these are the people who get voices, these are the people who get... They pop up on CNN all the time. It's really frustrating as... Not just as someone who wants to live in a society where we can all... I would love to debate the merits of different tax policies or to discuss what the US role in foreign policy should be or something like that, but there's no policies being discussed, it's just culture war straight up and down. It's just Democrats want to kill you and that's why you should vote Republican. That seems to be the message, and it's unhinged. And I don't know how we all coexist. I would like to, but-Well, like I said, I think the right a long time ago decided that, well, the mainstream media isn't going to promote our candidates for us and do the pure propaganda that we want so we'll just go and start our own things. There isn't really any appreciable... Not really. There are some liberal outposts here and there, but certainly not anywhere near the amount of... There is no equivalent to right wing talk radio, and people sometimes will be like, "Oh, well there's lots of popular left wing podcasts." And it's like, well, sure that's true, there are some, but guess what? Head over to the Apple podcasts top news and politics and see who dominates that. It's ain't NPR, I'll tell you that. Yeah. Well, and same thing with Facebook. One great illustration, I think, of the way that right wing media can game the system is I always thought that the way Facebook reacted to this pretty flimsy 2016 Gizmodo story about supposed suppression of conservative ideas, and in reality the complaints seemed to be mostly that Facebook wasn't promoting conspiracy theories about the IRS targeting only conservative groups but not liberal groups, which the IRS was monitoring both groups because you have to be careful when you're an overtly political organization applying for tax exempt status. That's how it's supposed to go. They were mad that these stories about how the IRS were not trending and they were upset that the Associated Press was being weighted heavier than something like Gateway Pundit or Steven Crowder. And I always thought that was a moment that things really started to spiral totally out of control. The article was published, and within hours you had every right-wing media outlet screaming about it being censored, the RNC weighed in on it. And within days, Facebook set up a meeting with high-profile conservatives. You had Brent Bozell, Jim DeMint, Tucker Carlson, Glen Beck, all of these people went to Facebook and met with Mark Zuckerberg to talk about what they can do to make them feel better about things to assure them that it's not biased against conservatives. Facebook took a bunch of the recommendations. Facebook immediately fired the team that curated its trending section, replaced it with an algorithm that didn't differentiate between nonsense stories and actual news. And then in the months leading up to the election, it just fed readers false stories about things like the Pope endorsing Trump or Megyn Kelly endorsing Clinton and a bunch of conspiracy theories. [crosstalk 01:06:52] It seemed like a pretty clear-cut example of conservatives seizing on an opportunity to weaponize a sense of being wronged, a sense of being the victim to claim bias to their advantage. Facebook bent over backwards to make sure that they felt okay. They carved out special rules so that Trump could lie in his ads. They did all of these things. And what's the conservative position on Facebook? It's still biased against conservatives. There's nothing that can be said or done that would change that because it's not actually about correcting a bias, it's about pushing for an advantage. I don't know. Do you think that I make too much of that Facebook example? Because it's stuck with me for five years.Mm-hmm (affirmative). Well, I wouldn't say it's more of a... It's just a good test case or example. But that sort of thing happens all the time. But that's why I do think that there needs to be more... There are some progressive publications out there. Let's say the Nation or New Republic or Talking Points Memo, et cetera, but they are more about progressive interpretations in reporting of the news. But they aren't about actually combating right-wing stupidity and lies and activism, and so basically these people have had waging a one-sided war on mainstream institutions so it's no wonder that they have been favored by them. Your former colleagues at Media Matters have started a new project where they're tracking the most popular Facebook posts, and the most popular Facebook posts are almost without exception right-wing propaganda.Yeah. And this is something that Facebook could choose to just do rather than eat up all the resources of Media Matters to do that, but alas, Facebook is a secretive organization that worries me. Well, their key investor is Peter Thiel. Yeah, which-He is Mark Zuckerberg's mentor. The “tech companies are biased against conservatives” lying always gets me because it's so clearly not true but it's impossible to convince people that it's not true. Well, here's the thing; and this goes back to something I said earlier, that conventional right-wing Republican leaders are... They're much closer to the radical conspiracy theorists and outright fabricators than people realize. The primary reason that Facebook took these criticisms seriously... There were two reasons. One was it was a business decision. They wanted to make sure that half of their audience wouldn't, well... Or 35... Facebook is majority elderly people now, so that's... they didn't want to piss off their Republican mainstays, so that was number one. But then number two is that when you look at the way that disinformation works and is distributed if you have automated filters put in place against disinformation, they will disproportionately affect Republican politicians, and that's because... But nobody ever takes the second step which is to say, "Okay, so if that's true that these filters are doing that and it's indisputable that they do, then that means that Republicans are basing their politics and messaging on lies." That's what that actually means and that's the thing that we should be pointing to as the problem in this discussion. It isn't the algorithms. The algorithms are based on detecting exaggerated or fabricated statements and so they are neutral. They are not having things that are based on, oh, let's make sure to take points off if it's a Republican saying it. That's not how they work. They are neutral. They are literally math formulae. That's what they are.The thing is, though, these... If Facebook wanted to, it could say, "Yeah, it affects more Republicans than Democrat politicians because that's just the reality of it." They could but they would piss off millions and millions of their users, which obviously they don't want to do. They instead kind of try to back off.Yeah. But still, I don't think that point is really made very much even in the... There's tons of critical coverage of Facebook now that's come out in the mainstream press, but I don't think any of it's really touched on. A lot of the problem that Facebook has in terms of disinformation and falsehoods, it isn't because of Facebook's audience or the people who use it, it's because that right wing activism is based on lying. That's the root problem. If you talk to people who actually work in machine learning and content moderation, they actually do discuss this stuff, but it's only within that very small little universe that these discussions are being had and they need to be had on a much greater degree because... I'll give you an example. Sam Harris, the atheist author who has drifted over to the right the past few years, he did an interview recently where he said that... Somebody had asked him, "Why is it that you seem so... Almost all your content is about criticizing "woke" stuff? That you never talk about Republican extremism or Christian nationalism. Why don't you do that?" And his response was, "Well, because that stuff is so obviously wrong that I don't need to criticize it because it's wrong and so I have to focus on cleaning up my own side." And it's like, bro, do you realize who was the president of this country? Do you realize what is the top-rated cable channel in America? He has no idea. And to be honest, I do think that there are a lot of people in the A political technocratic center or even center left who have that opinion because they have no awareness or contact with right wing media. There's a very easy mistake that you can make which is to think that because you don't know about something that it doesn't matter. And the reality is maybe you don't know about this thing because you're wrong. Which is an important lesson all around. This has been just a totally fantastic, extremely long conversation. The CNN Town Hall in Cincinnati, Ohio, with President Biden was such a bust that at least half of the seats in the Mount St. Joseph University auditorium were empty, and the show's cable broadcast ratings came in dead last! Considering Biden is supposed to have won a huge, record majority of American votes just 8 months ago, and considering Trump still has huge crowds outside his rallies unable to get inside, this is a major blow to the Biden Administration's image of being supported by the American people. National Review editor Jack Butler is quoted as saying it was a "hideous spectacle unbecoming of a self-governing republic”, and he added “if CNN had any shame…, the network would never air one of these idiotic events again.” And local Cincinnati news outlets are reported to have not been able to find out who was responsible for hosting this event at the school in the first place. It is shameful the Biden Family does not have the same love and devotion to Joe Biden that Nancy Reagan had for Ronald Reagan in his declining years. The real problem is Americans and the entire world know Biden is not “in charge” at the White House. The problem is which UNELECTED person really is?The European Handball Federation (EHF) Disciplinary Committee absolutely requires bikini bottoms be worn by their womens' beach handball team players, and our @American Mamas, Teri Netterville and Denise Arthur, are asking “who made that rule up?” Apparently, really tight fitting Short-Shorts just are not an acceptable substitute! Thus, the Norwegian Beach Handball Team was fined the Euro equivalent of $1,768 because they choose to not wear bikini bottoms, but more modest, yet still tight fitting, short-shorts instead. Interestingly, the men's beach handball team players wear — shorts! Why are married couples living in blue states able to draw as much as $100,000.00 in combined Federal and State funds for NOT WORKING when there are so many HELP WANTED SIGNS in almost every business window in almost every community in that state? Apparently, Joe Biden and his Administration really does not understand the concept of “supply and demand”. Of course, if you have never had any job other than a government job, you have no experience with that fundamental economic business concept! Employers simply cannot pay more in wages than their companies can make in income. All Republicans in the US Senate voted against a procedural issue involving the $1.2 Trillion Infrastructure Bill, and that caused Chuck Schumer to also vote against it (only so he could bring it back up later). Americans are generally supportive of rebuilding roads, bridges, ports, dams, water & sewer utility pipelines, water treatment plants, the electric grid, and airports. The problem with the bill is all the extra stuff, such as Democrat “pet projects” and other “socialist agenda” items. Furthermore, every dollar in this bill will have to be borrowed — generally from our enemies, such as China, and then paid back by several decades from now future generations. George Foreman, boxing Gold Medal winner gold medal at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics, believes you cannot love America only sometimes or when it is “politically correct”. He is quoted as having said, “I have always loved America. And once you fall in love just like falling in love with your wife, no one can say anything about her.” He further explained, “The next night she is still my wife. And I'm going to stay. That's why you make that thing ‘until death do we part.' That's why nothing has ever shook my faith and love in the country and when you love a country, nothing can bother you. If you are halfway in love you are going to have a lot of trouble.”

Episode Notes Note: Since the filming of this podcast, the stimulus package has been passed by the Senate, and now is going back to the House of Representatives for final approval. [00:00] [Intro Music] [00:11] Jimmy: Hello! Welcome back to NBN politics. For those of you that don’t want to scroll through 1,000 Google pages on the latest political news, we’re here to give you the Sparknotes version. [00:25] I’m Jimmy. [00:26] Ali: And I’m Ali. [00:27] Jimmy: And we’re your co-hosts. This week we are diving into the third, and most recent stimulus package! Will we be getting the stimulus checks everyone’s been talking about? [00:35] Ali: The House just passed a $1.9 trillion stimulus package called the American Rescue Plan to help families that are struggling because of COVID-19. [00:45] The bill includes a child tax credit, which basically means families could receive over $3,000 from the IRS per child. [00:50] It also includes housing assistance, where $30 billion is being invested in helping people pay their rent, and another $5 billion to prevent COVID outbreaks in homeless communities. But, it doesn’t extend the national eviction moratorium, which temporarily stopped landlords from evicting tenants during the pandemic.  [01:08] The bill includes a third stimulus payment for $1,400, and this time adult dependents can get one too. College students? You get money! People with disabilities who are dependents? You get money! Elderly dependents? You too get money! [01:24] But, it's not as much money as Biden promised. On the campaign trail, Biden was promising $2,000 dollar stimulus checks. [01:30] In unveiling the plan, Biden said, “We will finish the job of getting a total of $2,000 in cash relief to people who need it the most.” Some argue that the $1,400 is a supplement to the $600 payments given out in January, but some congressional democrats like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Cory Booker are calling Biden out on Twitter for not actually holding up his promises. [01:55] The American Rescue plan also includes unemployment insurance, so unemployed people get $400 a week. And, it extends key unemployment programs until August 29. It includes $20 billion for a COVID vaccine program, and $50 billion for testing. [02:09] Basically, you’re getting money. But, the amount of money you’re getting may vary based on your income. The good thing is, there’s a bunch of calculators and things online to help you find out how much you might be getting. It’s just a Google search away. [02:20] Now the question is: when is the bill going to be enacted? What happens next? What exactly is the process for enacting a bill like this? [2:27] Jimmy: The bill first went to the House of Representatives, where it passed by 219-212 votes. All Republicans, along with two Democrats, voted against the bill.  [02:38] The Democrats also tried to include a minimum wage bill in the stimulus package. If this bill was passed, it would increase the minimum wage from $7.25 an hour to $15 an hour, which is more than double the current minimum wage. [02:52] Now, including the bill in the stimulus package would make it much easier to pass because it would only require a simple majority of votes, which is 50 or more senators of the 100 person Senate. The process that is usually required for passing legislation would’ve required 60 votes instead. [03:08] However, this minimum wage bill was struck down before it could be voted on in the Senate. The Senate parliamentarian, whose job is to help interpret the rules and precedents in the Senate, ruled that the bill could not be included in the stimulus package because it does not have a big enough impact on the budget. [03:23] Lawmakers will start the process of amending, or making changes to, the stimulus bill. They will debate about bill details before the bill moves to the Senate for a vote.  [03:32] Now a key date in mind is March 14 because that’s the day federal unemployment benefits end, and if no bill is passed by then, millions of Americans will be left without aid. [03:42] But, how have both sides reacted to the bill, Ali? [03:45] Ali: Well, it’s like you said Jimmy, no Republicans voted on passing this bill. But some Republicans have a bigger problem with the American Rescue Plan than others. [03:54] There’s one part of the bill we haven’t mentioned yet, and that’s the $350 billion that are going directly to states. This money is supposed to make up for the lack of tax revenue, so each state is getting aid in proportion to their unemployment rates. States with more unemployment, where more people were out of work because more businesses closed down, get more funding from the federal government. [04:13] In a statement released just as The American Rescue Plan was being passed in the House, 21 Republican governors and one Democrat governor said that this is a biased allocation of funds that punishes states that didn’t fully shut down. [04:27] The statement said, "A state’s ability to keep businesses open and people employed should not be a penalizing factor when distributing funds. If Congress is going to provide aid to states, it should be on an equitable population basis.”  [04:40] House Republicans have said that this funding formula prioritizes states run by Democrats. 33 states will receive less funding through the unemployment model than they would through population based funding, and the majority of these states are run by Republican governors. [04:55] But this bill isn’t completely partisan. 32 Republican mayors have openly supported the American Rescue Plan. This aid would go directly towards paying firefighters and police officers who suffered from budget cuts, keeping public facilities like libraries open, and reopening public schools. [05:11] Now, this bill could not come at a better time. As we move into March, almost hitting a year of quarantine and the pandemic shutdown, families are now more than ever in need of financial assistance, especially in Texas. Tell us about Texas, Jimmy! [05:26] Jimmy: Well Ali, starting the week of February 15th, millions of Texans were left without power and water after snowstorms and cold temperatures caused the state’s power grids to fail. [05:35] This was Texas’s worst power outage in a decade. Over 4 million customers were without power. Many households had to melt snow just to have drinking water and so they could flush their toilets.  [05:46] Even worse, some residents saw their monthly electric bills jump up from a few hundred dollars at most to thousands. This is because Texas has a deregulated power system. [05:56] This means companies get to choose how to charge their customers. Some companies charge a flat rate for power, while others vary their prices based on supply and demand. As a result, prices spiked unbelievably following the statewide power outages. In fact, one power company, Griddy Energy, is even facing a class action lawsuit for gouging its prices. [06:17] Not only will stimulus checks from the stimulus bill help those struggling in Texas, but according to TIME, the Biden administration has signaled that after the stimulus bill, the administration is planning to push a stimulus package that would put people to work rebuilding infrastructure. Ali: [06:32] This is the third stimulus package in a year of COVID-19. For more dummy politics, and to not be clueless about that random check you got in the mail, tune into Politics for Dummies. Episode 271: “Q Can It Be Now?” This week Host Dave Bledsoe uncovers the truth about the conspiracy keeping him from paying his tab at the liquor store! (Hint: He's a deadbeat and you should never give him a tab ANYWHERE!)  On the show this week, we take a fresh look at the Q Anon Conspiracy only to find, somehow, against all odds, it's gotten dumber. Along the way we learn how JFK's 1960 Presidential run alienated the good folks of the rural South by making them fear being forced to eat at Long John Silver on Friday! (The fish was really quite tasty!)  Then we dive DEEP into the latest doings of the good folks who believe that Chrissy Tiegen and Tom Hanks are cooking babies at their pedo cabal Zoom Calls.  (HOW DARE YOU PEOPLE ATTACK TOM HANKS!)  Then we take a quick look at the Q Candidates for elected office this Fall and find to our utter lack of surprise, they are ALL Republicans!  (Where they go dumb, they go all the way in!) We take a gander at overpriced cabinets and how they are really just young girls being shipped around the world.  (We wish we were making that up.) Then we find out how JFK Jr is going to save us all ANY DAY NOW.  (Any day really.  I mean, he should be here by now, he is probably stuck in traffic or something.) On this week's podcast discussion which is being recorded near the midpoint of what is shaping up to be a very busy 30 day legislative session, Paul and Wally start by discussing the so-called "Red Flag Bill" which has been introduced in the New Mexico Legislature. SB 5  passed its first committee, SenatePublic Affairs. All of the Democrats voted for it (including Liz Stefanics and Jeff Steinborn). All Republicans voted against the bill. Spurred in part by this legislation a rally was held at the Roundhouse against Red Flag bill and in favor of gun rights on Friday. RGF was in attendance. SB 60 and SB 201 by George Munoz would change the requirements of who serves on the PERA board in a good way SB 72 which actually makes the pension changes made it out of Public Affairs Committee (Stefanics and Sedillo-Lopez voting against). You can read the editorial that Paul and Len Gilroy wrote on the issue here.  Paul and Wally further discuss NM’s PERA system which has created a large number of millionaires: https://errorsofenchantment.com/nms-10000-pera-pension-millionaires/ Social Security bills move forward in legislative committees, but as the AlbuquerqueJournal reports, they are “gaining momentum,” but according to Speaker Egolf are "unlikely to happen" because all of the surplus money has been “spoken for” by the various agencies. HJR 1 to tap permanent fund is again moving in the session, but a leading expert from the center/left Brookings Institute throws some cold water on the idea that pre-K is going to work wonders for New Mexico students. HB 173 which would massively increase New Mexico's gas tax moves forward. SB 110 which is a massive giveaway of power to government employee labor unions passes Senate Public Affairs Committee. Is this the unions' a quid pro quo for pension reform? A federal judge has ruled against the Rio Grande Foundation in its suit over donor disclosure in the battle over Santa Fe's soda tax saying that we didn't prove we were harmed. The Foundation has already appealed.

Democrats in the House of Representatives have launched public impeachment hearings against President Donald Trump, following an inquiry into whistleblower testimony that Trump asked the President of Ukraine to investigate the family of a political opponent, former Vice President Joe Biden, and withheld military aid to Ukraine for additional pressure. Trump's reaction has been characteristically over the top, with the victimhood dial turned to 11. He raised a significant number of eyebrows in his tweet on October 22. He wrote: "So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the president, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here - a lynching. But we will WIN!"

Donald Trump is always describing investigations into his actions as witch-hunts and coups, but today he chose a much stronger word to describe the current impeachment inquiry. The nation's complainer-in-chief tweeted, "So some day, if a Democrat becomes President and the Republicans win the House, even by a tiny margin, they can impeach the President, without due process or fairness or any legal rights. All Republicans must remember what they are witnessing here - a lynching. But we will WIN!" Don't be fooled ... Trump is a master of distraction. While we were outraged by Trump's lynching comment, Bill Taylor, the acting US ambassador to Ukraine, said during his testimony to the House committees investigating impeachment that everything including the release of military aid to Ukraine, was tied to Ukraine President Zelensky publicly announcing investigations into Joe Biden and the 2016 election. Then, career diplomats continue to malign Trump in secret, behind closed doors, affording the President of The United States no due process. In our country, we guarantee due process to terrorists and mass murderers but Speaker Pelosi and the Democrats won't allow Trump the right to defend himself, to confront his accuser, to call a witness, or even to have counsel present during these interviews. The house is not like a grand jury it's more like it has abandoned all precedent for this process and has adopted tyrannical thuggery as its guide in this process. Later, according to the 'secret' testimony of William Taylor that was leaked to the media, it seems that there was an irregular channel of diplomacy set up by then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Ukrainian officials. Mike Burgess (TX) "The bill we will be voting out soon is about patients. It is about having more time with their loved ones. In the words of Vice President MIKE PENCE, ‘‘It’s about restoring hope and giving patients with life-threatening diseases a fighting chance.’’ With hundreds of thousands of Americans with a terminal illness and their families looking for us to act, I urge Members of this House, the people’s House, to support restoring hope and giving them a fighting chance at life." Hearing: House Hearing; Yucca Mountain, May 10, 2018. 32:00 Representative Greg Walden (OR): You know, the Department of Energy’s Hanford site is just up the mighty Columbia River from where I live and where I grew up. That area and those workers helped us win World War II, and the site’s nuclear program was instrumental in projecting peace through strength throughout the Cold War. While the community has been a constructive partner in support of our vital national security missions, it did not agree to serve as a perpetual storage site for the resulting nuclear waste. Fifty-six million gallons of toxic waste sitting in decades-old metal tanks at Hanford—these are those tanks that were being constructed to hold this waste. They are now buried in the ground. The only entry point is right here. The amount of waste stored at Hanford would fill this entire House Chamber 20 times over. According to a recent Government Accountability Office report, the oldest of these tanks, some of which date back to the 1940s, have single-layer walls, or shells. They were built to last 20 years. They will be almost 100 years old by the estimated end of their waste treatment. The Department of Energy has reported that 67 of these tanks are assumed or known to have leaked waste into the soil. There is an understandable sense of urgency in the Northwest behind the cleanup efforts that are under way at Hanford. H.R. 3053 will provide the pathway to clean up the contaminated Hanford site. You see, the waste from Hanford will end up in a secure permanent storage site that we believe will be Yucca Mountain. 35:15 Representative Greg Walden (OR): The legislation authorizes the Department of Energy to contract with private companies to store nuclear waste while DOE finishes the rigorous scientific analysis of the repository design and the associated Nuclear Regulatory Commission licensing process. So, an interim storage facility can bring added flexibility to DOE’s disposal program and may provide a more expeditious near-term pathway to consolidate spent nuclear fuel. 41.31 Representative Fred Upton (MI): In my district, we have two nuclear plants. Both of them have run out of room in their storage, so they have dry casks that are literally a John Shimkus baseball throw away from Lake Michigan. Every one of these 100-some sites across the country is in an environmentally sensitive area, and at some point they’re going to run out of room. In Michigan, we’ve got two other sites that also have dry casks in addition to the two in my district. 45:05 Representative Buddy Carter (GA): This legislation is important not only because of what it means to the future of clean-energy opportunities for this country, but also what this means for our communities. Nuclear energy has become a safe and effective way to generate energy, all while not producing greenhouse gas emissions. 53:29 Representative Leonard Lance (NJ): New Jersey is home to four nuclear reactors at three generating stations: Oyster Creek, Hope Creek, and Salem. Oyster Creek will be closing this October. In the congressional district I serve, these plants account for about half of the power generation and 90 percent of the carbon-free electricity. New Jersey’s nuclear plants avoid 14 million tons of carbon emissions each year. Public Service, FirstEnergy, and Exelon are doing their part in storing their station’s spent nuclear fuel on-site, but we need a permanent site. The expertise and know-how of the federal government has a responsibility to my constituents and to the American people. I want the 3,000 metric tons of nuclear waste out of New Jersey and consolidated in a national protected facility. 58:54 Representative Dina Titus (NV): The first ‘‘Screw Nevada’’ bill was passed in 1982, and since that time, Nevada’s residents, elected officials, business leaders, health and environmental groups have steadfastly opposed the Yucca Mountain repository. I ask unanimous consent to enter into the record over 100 letters from those groups in opposition. 59:19 Representative Dina Titus (NV): You’ve heard that the legislation before you now, ‘‘Screw Nevada 2.0,’’ is a work of compromise, a bipartisan effort, not perfect, but a step forward. Well, that, frankly, is an opinion. It’s not the facts. Here are the facts: the legislation overrides environmental laws, allowing the EPA to move the goalposts in terms of radiation limits to ensure that nothing will ever interfere with the agenda of the nuclear industry. It sets up a consent-based process for the establishment of an interim storage facility but imposes a permanent facility at Yucca Mountain. It increases the amount of nuclear waste to be dumped in Nevada by 37 percent, 110 metric tons more that were not considered in any of the environmental or safety studies being used to justify the project. It also removes the prohibition currently in law that prohibits Nevada from being the de facto interim storage facility until a permanent one can be licensed. It was also changed after passing out of committee to address the high scoring costs—is it already three minutes? Chairman: Gentlewoman’s time has expired. Representative Paul Tonko: Mr. Speaker, we grant the gentlelady another minute. Chairman: Gentlelady’s recognized. Rep. Titus: Thank you. —to address the high scoring costs, making it less likely that we get host benefits. Also, contrary to the sponsor’s comments, the area around Yucca Mountain is not some desolate area. It has iconic wildlife, endangered species, and Native American artifacts. Also, the proposed facility sits above the water table and on an active fault and can only be reached by roads that travel through 329 of your congressional districts. 1:03:53 Representative Ruben Kihuen (NV): You know, Mr. Speaker, I find it offensive. I sit here and listen to all my colleagues, and they all want to send nuclear waste to the state of Nevada. They’re all generating this nuclear waste, and they want to send it to my backyard right in the Fourth Congressional District. You know, bottom line is this, Mr. Speaker: if you generate nuclear waste, you should keep it in your own backyard. Don’t be sending it to our backyard. 1:11:27 Representative Joe Courtney (CT): Next to me is a picture of Haddam Neck, Connecticut, which is a pristine part of the state where the Connecticut River and the Salmon River come together. Where the circle is on the photograph, there are 43 casks of spent nuclear power uranium rods that, again, today, pretty much cordon off that whole area. If you drove up in a car, you’d be met by a platoon of heavily armed security guards who, for good reason, have to patrol that area every single day because of the dangerous material that is stored there. That has been the case for over 20 years. It costs Connecticut ratepayers $10 million a year, again, for a site that should be long overdue for renovation and access to folks from all over the world because of its rich archeological and historical area. This bill provides a way out for this area, along with 120 other sites across the country, that host communities have been saddled with storage of spent nuclear fuel because of the fact that this country has been unable to come together with a coherent policy. And this bill provides a way out. 1:15:23 Representative Dana Rohrabacher (CA): This bill authorizes the construction of Yucca Mountain as a nuclear waste storage site, which would alleviate the burden of incredible risk that is now borne by communities throughout the country, such as in my district, where homes are not far located from the closed San Onofre Nuclear Generating Station. That, and many other plants throughout the nation, have closed their doors in decades. Yet, Congress has yet to agree of how to safely store that waste, while—and what’s really important is we must store the waste—but while we develop new nuclear energy technologies, that we are capable of doing, that are safe and produce less of their own waste and can consume the waste of older plants—I reminded Secretary of Energy Perry of that yesterday—but, in the meantime, until that technology—by the way, it is sinful that we have not developed that technology, which we are capable of, that could eat this waste—but until we do, having safe storage at Yucca Mountain makes all the sense to me and is safe for my constituents. 1:17:07 Representative Rick Allen (GA): Mr. Speaker, I have the great honor of representing Georgia’s 12th Congressional District, which is home to every nuclear reactor in our state, and we are leading the way in the new nuclear. At Plant Vogtle, in my district, there are thousands of spent fuel rods being held in spent fuel pools and dry cask storage containers, and in the next few years we’re going to double the number of nuclear reactors online at Vogtle. Hearing: House Hearing; Forests Act, November 1, 2017. 3:02:49 Representative Bruce Poliquin (MA): Now, H.R. 2936 brings federal regulations in line with this new technology and new standards of safety by allowing family-owned logging business the ability to train 16- and 17-year-olds under very close supervision of their parents. 3:23:31 Representative Greg Walden (OR): In Oregon, this bill would take away arbitrary prohibition on harvesting trees over 21 inches in diameter. It’s tied the hands of our forest managers. 3:28:00 Representative Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA): I represent the Colville National Forest, which is about a million-acre forest. It’s really the engine of our economy in the Northwest, because what happens on the Colville National Forest determines whether or not we have Vaagen’s lumber or 49 Degrees North ski resort or the biomass facility that Avista runs, converting wood waste into electricity. This is all providing jobs, energy, recreational opportunities. Yet mills have been closed, jobs have been lost. It’s unacceptable. It’s time to pass the Resilient Federal Forests legislation. 5:32:57 Representative Jeff Denham (CA): The Resilient Federal Forests Act gives us the tools to immediately reduce the threat of catastrophic wildfires. It allows us to expedite the removal of dead trees and rapidly mitigate disease-infested areas. 5:41:58 Representative Louie Gohmert (TX): If you want to just leave it to nature, nature will destroy massive numbers of acres of land. So we have a responsibility. Even in the Garden of Eden when things were perfect, God said, tend the garden. 6:06:29 Representative Raul Grijalva (AZ): This is not the first time we have seen the bill, this piece of legislation. House Republicans sent a version to the Senate in the 113th and the 114th Congress, where it languished on the shelf because our colleagues on the other side of the Capitol found it too extreme. Rather than view that experience as an opportunity to seek compromise, this time around, today, we are considering a bill that is even more extreme and polarizing. They doubled the environmental review waivers, added language to undermine the Endangered Species Act, and scaled back protections for national monuments and roadless areas. 6:07:39 Representative Raul Grijalva (AZ): But this bill is not about forest health or wildfire mitigation; it’s about increasing the number of trees removed from our forests. 6:18:24 Representative Tom McClintock (CA): You know, there’s an old adage that excess timber comes out of the forest one way or the other—it’s either carried out or it burns out. When we carried it out, we had resilient, healthy forests and a thriving economy, as excess timber was sold and harvested before it could choke our forests to death. In the years since then, we’ve seen an 80 percent decline in timber sales from our federal lands and a concomitant increase in acreage destroyed by forest fire. I would remind my friend from Oregon that timber sales used to generate us money, not cost us money. The direct revenues and spin-off commerce generated by these sales provided a stream of revenues that we could then use to improve our national forests and share with the local communities affected. 6:22:38 Representative Jared Huffman (CA): Title I of this bill allows intensive logging projects of 10,000 to 30,000 acres each. That’s as big as the entire city of San Francisco. Projects of that size can proceed on federal public lands without any environmental review under NEPA, without any compliance with the Endangered Species Act. Title II of the bill eliminates the requirement that the Forest Service consult with the Fish and Wildlife Service; essentially, lets the Forest Service decide for itself if it wants to follow the Endangered Species Act consultation requirements regarding any of its projects on public lands. Title III further chokes judicial review by prohibiting the recovery of attorneys' fees for any challenges to forest management activity under the Equal Access to Justice Act, including meritorious successful challenges. This severely limits public review of logging projects on federal public lands. Hearing: Examining patient access to investigational drugs, Energy & Commerce, October 3, 2017. House Session: Legislative Day of January 4, 2017, Houselive.gov 4:15:30 - Rep. Darrell Issa (CA) "For the freshmen of either party, when you go to make a vote on this, re-member, we are not changing the un-derlying law. Only one regulation under the underlying law has ever been repealed, and it was bipartisan in both the House and the Senate when it was repealed. It has been 16 years, and the few that will likely be considered under this act and the underlying law will be just that, a relatively few regulations that are believed to be unnecessary and for which the House, the Senate, and the President concur.   Video: Josh Lyman Sick of Congress, YouTube, July 23, 2012. How a Real Conservative Party Would Respond to this week’s jihad Ep 59

Conservative Review with Daniel Horowitz

The voters are demanding that the political class protect our sovereignty and security.  Yet, both parties are out to lunch.  While Democrats are refusing to even acknowledge the problem of Islamic jihad, their opponents are unwilling to expose their willful blindness.  All Republicans care about is jailbreak and other harmful or vacuous policy ideas.  They continue to refuse to use the budget bill to defund Obama’s refugee program.   In this episode of the Conservative Conscience, Daniel explores the recent terror attacks through the prism of a real principled Republican Party.  What would a party that is truly committed to our nation’s security do in response to this week’s jihad?   Daniel outlines a number of ideas that will protect our homeland, address the threat doctrine of the enemy, and respect the constitutional constraints.  These are all common sense ideas that are not only good policy but reflect good politics as well.  Many people think it will take a massive terror attack, God forbid, for the people to wake up and vote against the cultural Marxists and apologists for Islamism.  The problem is even if such an event occurs and the majority of the country undergoes a catharsis, there is no political party that can capitalize on that sentiment.   “Republicans could win a landslide election if they made it a referendum on this issue alone!” Daniel declared on this week’s episode of the Conservative Conscience podcast. “Democrats are on the hook for this issue,” he continued. The people want security but neither party will give it to them. So what would a sane Republican Party do? Well, here are some common sense ideas: 1) Ban the Muslim Brotherhood 2) Pause Refugee Resettlement 3) Allow states to block refugees 4) Strip jihadist fighters of citizenship 5) Exit-entry visa tracking 6) Build the fence (or wall, if that strikes your fancy) 7) National reciprocity for concealed carry 8) Force DHS to deport the million or so with outstanding deportation orders 9) Place restrictions and extra monitoring of travel to dangerous countries   Don’t Miss 15 years of willful blindness after 9/11 Stolen Sovereignty: almost 1,000 criminal aliens issued citizenship Just 14 years ago, Democrats supported cutting off visas from dangerous countries Learn more about your ad choices.
