Ross, a seasoned veteran with 17 years of service, suffered an injury during his time in the military. As he transitioned into the civilian workforce, he participated in numerous workshops aiming to translate his skills effectively. However, it wasn't until his career counselor at the Department of Veterans Affairs introduced him to Inclusively that he realized what had been missing all along. Reflecting on his journey, Ross expresses, "I felt like I was exerting tremendous effort to align myself with employers, rather than finding a mutual meeting ground." Ross faced additional challenges due to his service dog named Perrin, his reliance on various assistive technologies, and his limited mobility stemming from his injury. When creating his profile on Inclusively, he swiftly realized that this platform provided what his previous experiences lacked—an opportunity for open and transparent conversations about his disability and the accommodations he requires.Check Inclusively's WebsiteWatch HNF's Inclusively Website & Demo Watch HNF's Canine Companion WebinarBook an EmBRACE It WorkshopLooking for more great tips, hacks, and blog posts? After living with severely debilitating psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis for over 30 years, Nitika Chopra found that no matter how hard she tried, she always felt completely isolated and alone. For a long time, she assumed that it must have been because something was inherently broken or wrong with her. After getting the courage to open up about her health, she realized that every time she met someone who had a chronic illness, they felt the exact same way. While Nitika's career started over 10 years ago as the founder of a popular online magazine, the host of her own talk show on global television, and a brand ambassador for some of the most prestigious beauty brands on the market, in the midst of her success she felt a deep longing for something more. Something she could create that would truly have an impact on the lives of others. That passion sparked the idea to create Chronicon. After 10 years in content creation, Nitika launched Chronicon in the fall of 2019, an inclusive community-building event focused on those living with chronic illness. "Everyone deserves a chance to go on a vacation and make memories with their family!"After 20 years of frustration, with very limited vacation options, Lorraine Woodward's family of four, three of whom have mobility issues due to muscular dystrophy, took it upon themselves to create their own accessible property. In 2014, Lorraine's "A Place of No Worries" was realized. Their fully accessible property was not only a way to meet their own family vacation needs, but also a way to serve as an investment property that could be a resource for other families who needed the same accessibility features/needs.Through the years, Lorraine has seen the real need for an accessible property each time she talked to her renters, many of whom haven't had the ability to vacation, due to lack of access, until they found her accessible rental. That's when the idea for Becoming rentABLE came alive. Lorraine saw the change she made with one property, but wanted everyone to have the same access in the rental market. Becoming rentABLE strives to bring visibility to the need for accessible, short-term rentals for people with mobility, vision, hearing, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and for individuals on the autism spectrum through education about accessible design, construction, and renovation.Visit the Becoming Rentable WebsiteCheck out the Little Yellow HouseView Shower Ramp #1 & Shower Ramp #2Follow Becoming Rentable on InstagramBook an EmBRACE It WorkshopLooking for more great tips, hacks, and blog posts? As an Iraq war veteran, Purple Heart recipient, TEDx speaker, writer, and teacher Casey Jourdan is passionate about helping others shift from surviving to thriving. Casey was a gunner in an Army convoy traveling Baghdad's "suicide ally" when a roadside explosive device rocked her world. The explosion changed her identity forever, transforming her from being an entrepreneurial, athletic, college coed with a nearly photographic memory into a disabled Iraq war veteran flunking out of college and afraid to leave her room. She lost jobs, family, and self-worth but 9 years later, she has fought her way back to a healed place with a new and constantly evolving perspective on self-recovery and societal engagement. Make zelí great again a pusť to!

Mindy Scheier's journey began when her son Oliver, who has a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy, wanted to wear jeans to school like his friends, but couldn't manage the buttons or zippers. She realized then that millions of people around the world must also be struggling to access fashionable clothing that meets their needs. She began to envision a world where all styles of clothing were available with modifications that would make them accessible for people with disabilities. After spending 20 years in the fashion industry and opening a design school for kids, Mindy decided to combine her experience and her passion to address this unmet need by founding the Runway of Dreams Foundation.Visit: Runway of DreamsCheck out: Gamut Management Looking for more great tips, hacks and blogposts? Meet Jessica Ruiz, a 26 year-old Philadelphia-based makeup artist who was born with Arthrogryposis, a congenital defect that prevents full movement in her arms and hands, which means she has to use her mouth to hold her makeup tools. It's clear from looking at her Instagrams—both of the works she does on other people and on herself—that she's talented and not at all hindered by her lack of arm and hand movement. The only difference between her and other NY Fashion Week makeup artist is in the way that she applies makeup.Follow Jessica on IG @dreamy_eyes_artistryLooking for great tips, hacks and blogposts? September is national awareness month for Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT)! It’s perfect timing for Bernadette Scarduzio and Allison Moore to educate us on CMT in honor of the awareness month. "Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease (CMT), named after the three doctors who first identified it, is one of the most common inherited nerve disorders. CMT affects an estimated 1 in 2,500 people in the United States and 2.6 million people worldwide, although experts believe the number could be much higher." (hnf-cure.org) Bernadette Scarduzio and Allison Moore are a passionate advocates for Charcot Marie Tooth (CMT) syndrome working for the Hereditary Neuropathy Foundation. Allison is the Founder and CEO and Bernadette is the Social Media Coordinator. Bernadette was born with CMT and lives with the syndrome every day. To raise awareness for the disease Bernadette’s life and family were featured in her self titled documentary, supported by HNF. Many of Bernadette’s family members also have the syndrome and she has made it her mission to fight for CMT. The rat HNF-3 (hepatocyte nuclear factor 3) gene family encodes three transcription factors known to be important in the regulation of gene expression in liver and lung. We have cloned and characterized the mouse genes and cDNAs for HNF-3α, β, and γ and analyzed their expression patterns in various adult tissues and mouse embryonic stages. The HNF-3 proteins are highly conserved between mouse and rat, with the exception of the amino terminus of HNF-3γ, which in mouse is more similar to those of HNF-3α and β than to the amino termini of the rat HNF-3γ protein. The mouse HNF-3 genes are small and contain only two or three (HNF-3β) exons with conserved intron-exon boundaries. The proximal promoter of the mouse HNF3β gene is remarkably similar to that of the previously cloned rat HNF-3β gene, but is different from the promoters of the HNF-3α and γ genes. The mRNA distribution of the mouse HNF-3 genes was analyzed by quantitative RNase protection with gene-specific probes. While HNF-3α and β are restricted mainly to endoderm-derived tissues (lung, liver, stomach, and small intestine), HNF-3γ is more extensively expressed, being present additionally in ovary, testis, heart, and adipose tissue, but missing from lung. Transcripts for HNF-3β and α are detected most abundantly in midgestation embryos (Day 9.5), while HNF-3γ expression peaks around Day 15.5 of gestation.
