In Episode 46, Mark Graban and Jamie Flinchbaugh spend a lot of time talking about AI, but that still, as always, begins with the whiskey. Episode page We both asked ChatGPT to consider all our ingredients for making a whiskey-based cocktail, and to invent an original recipe. Jamie's is called The Bourbon Harmony, although there was a lot in there to try to reach harmony, and Mark's was called the Spiced Cherry Rye Cocktail. The verdict for both drinks was that they were good, but probably wouldn't be made a second time. We had slightly different tactics in prompting ChatGPT to generate our recipes, which we discussed.  We then spent a little time recognizing the passing of Don Petersen, former CEO of Ford in the late 1980s. Peterson was very different from an automotive CEO at the time, disrupting many practices whose time had come. Most notably, he brought in Dr. Deming to help influence the transformation.  The discussion then turned into a deeper dive into how a lean thinker might look at artificial intelligence, machine learning, and more. This explored governance of AI, having good standard work and workflow design around AI usage, lessons of effective delegation while treating AI like an employee, when to use it, and even a few tips and tricks along the way. We saved the discussion of whether AI will be the end of humanity for when we might have a stronger cocktail.  Have AI design your new cocktail, make it yourself since AI can't do that, and sit down for this interesting discussion. La prima parte della challenge si è conclusa e sono stati assegnati i titoli nazionali.Per l'Italia è stato premiato come vincitore Fabrizio Candino, della Sartoria Cocktail Bar di Palermo, con il suo cocktail In"vite". Sarà il rappresentante italiano alla finale globale che si terrà il prossimo 28 maggio all'Hotel W di Roma.Ogni bartender doveva portare sul bancone un aperitivo con ITALICUS Rosolio di Bergamotto come protagonista. When invited to speak at the recent Gates Foundation Goalkeepers 2030 event, Mikaela Loach seized the opportunity to announce that capitalism is causing climate change and “billionaires shouldn't exist.” This young climate justice activist has been fighting fossil fuel projects in the UK using a variety of tactics. She is one of three claimants who has taken the UK government to court for handing over taxpayer money to fossil fuel companies in violation of their commitments to reach net zero emissions. Mikaela has been heavily involved in the #StopCambo campaign that successfully shut down development of the Cambo oil field. She and others in this campaign continue to fight the development of Rosebank, the biggest untapped oil field in the North Sea. La strage di piazza della Loggia è stato un attentato terroristico fascista compiuto il 28 maggio 1974 a Brescia, nella centrale piazza della Loggia. Una bomba nascosta in un cestino portarifiuti fu fatta esplodere mentre era in corso una manifestazione contro il terrorismo neofascista. L'attentato provocò la morte di 8 persone e il ferimento di altre 102. Dopo molti anni di indagini, depistaggi e processi, vennero riconosciuti colpevoli e condannati alcuni membri del gruppo neofascista Ordine Nuovo; quali esecutori materiali vennero riconosciuti Ermanno Buzzi (nel frattempo assassinato in carcere) e Maurizio Tramonte (condannato in appello, in qualità di "fonte Tritone" dei Servizi Segreti Italiani), assieme ai già detenuti Carlo Digilio (addetto agli esplosivi) e Marcello Soffiati (il quale ha trasportato l'ordigno). Come mandante è stato condannato, in appello, il dirigente ordinovista Carlo Maria Maggi. Gli altri imputati, tra cui Delfo Zorzi, il generale Francesco Delfino e l'ex segretario del MSI e fondatore del Centro Studi Ordine Nuovo Pino Rauti furono assolti. È considerato uno degli attentati più gravi degli anni di piombo, assieme alla strage di piazza Fontana del 12 dicembre 1969 (17 morti), alla strage del treno Italicus del 4 agosto 1974 (12 morti) e alla strage di Bologna del 2 agosto 1980 (85 morti).

Aperitivo hour is thought by Italians to be the most magical of the day. But it's not only Amaro liqueurs that Italian have been drinking in the twilight hours. Historically, Rosolio liqueurs were once extreamly popular but went out of fashion with the rise of Vermouth. Giuseppe Gallo wanted to bring this style of liqueur back and recerate it for modern taste. He therfore created Italicus. Promoted as a sip of Italy, Italicus is made from Italian Bergamot and selected Italian Botanicals in the style of a Rosolio.We talk to Haley Forest, the US brand ambassador for Italicus about the importantance of Aperitivo culture to modern cocktails, the botanicals in their Rosolio and what it was like to win Best New Spirits Cocktail Ingredient at Tales of the Cocktail on the liqueurs release.
