Walt Disney World Railroad is Back...with an All-New VoiceoverThe WDW railroad was an original opening-day attraction in 1971 and it's back with a completely refreshed track and another new surprise...one you may or may not like.Walt Disney Imagineering introduced a new voice to share stories as the train circles Magic Kingdom Park. Disney's release stated that the narration is "a voice our guests can envision and resonate with. Someone who grew up on Main Street, U.S.A., dreaming of the day they'd be on the railroad. They've now achieved that dream, and they know everyone and everything at Magic Kingdom … an unofficial mayor of sorts." For us, the jury's still out on whether or not this was a good thing as my initial reaction is that I don't care for the PeopleMover vibe on Walt Disney World Railroad. So what do you think? Is the new voiceover a great addition or an unnecessary distraction?--Chef Mickey's transitions back to buffet-style dining March 1Starting March 1, 2023 Chef Mickey's will go back to buffet-style dining, something many fans have been waiting for as they enjoy either breakfast or dinner at this popular character dining location in Disney's Contemporary Resort.-- So What's Ahead for 2023? Everything New for Disney Parks and Resorts from D23 Expo 2022 So What's Next for Disney Parks? You won't believe what's coming behind Big Thunder Mountain at Walt Disney World This is Disney's Blue Sky sneak peak of what's coming down the road for Disney Parks. This portion of the D23 Expo had the biggest cheer of anything announced in 2022.First though, Josh D'Amaro announced what's happening with Dinoland at Disney's Animal Kingdom Park. It has been languishing and looks forgotten so the announcement of a big transformation coming was welcome. Zootopia and Moana will share the space currently occupied by Dinoland. But the biggest news of all... Disney Villains are Finally Getting a Place to Call their OwnMagic Kingdom will feature new frontiers and it's all hiding on the other side of BTM. The little town of Santa Cecilia will come to life as Coco gets a Magic Kingdom presence. And if you do want to talk about Bruno, you're in luck because you may be able to walk right into the Madrigal's casita. But all is not fun and flowers in this new land...as what if the Disney villains took up residence there as well...beyond Big Thunder Mountain. This was presented as conceptual and would likely be 10 years down the road, but Disney would not share it in this way if it weren't going to happen. Big news for Walt Disney World and Magic Kingdom. -- There's More Coming to Walt Disney WorldA new nighttime show for EPCOT will debut in late 2023 to kick-off the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company. Moana's Journey of Water and the rest of the World Celebration area at EPCOT will open in late 2023. So we'll have to bear with those construction walls for another year it seems.Figment is returning in a brand new form for a meet and greet at EPCOT. That will be in place by the end of 2023. In Magic Kingdom, the perennial favorite Hatbox Ghost will materialize once again in the Haunted Mansion. And we now know that Tron Lightcycle Run at Magic Kingdom will debut in Spring 2023. We were hoping it would be sooner, but apparently they are working on finishing touches right now. No specific date, just "spring." Finally, in 2023, a new version of Happily Ever After will return as part of a new Magic Kingdom nighttime show. This received a good amount of applause. What's New and Coming to Disneyland Resort The DVC Villas at Disneyland Hotel will be called the Villas at Disneyland Hotel. How creative. On October 16, 2023 Disney 100 kicks-off and it promises to be the biggest celebration ever for Disney. Under the theme of a Boundless Future the following announcements were made: The Mandalorian and Grogu (aka Baby Yoda) will be onsite starting in Mid November 2022 at Disneyland Galaxy's Edge Over at the Avengers Campus in Disney California Adventure Park, Kevin Feige, President of Marvel Studios, noted "we're just getting started." A new giant Hulk will be at Avengers Campus in California "next week." Plus, they're bringing the Multiverse to Avengers Campus. Disney is expanding the campus to include a new attraction. In the new attraction you will battle alongside all the Avengers against all the foes from anywhere. You will fight King Thanos. This is a new Thanos -- a Thanos who won. And the Avengers are not too happy about that and you have to help them. More news to come. Also new to Disney California Adventure, they are reimagining Pacific Wharf into San Fransokyo from Big Hero Six. You'll be able to meet Baymax there. Finally, they are reimagining Paradise Pier Hotel, as it will become Pixar Place Hotel. It will feature a Finding Nemo splash pad and more characters. All in all, Disney promises that the hotel will feel completely new. Over at Downtown Disney more than a dozen new or reimagined locations are in the works. More announcements coming over the next year. But the big news locally is a that SoCal favorite bakery Porto's is coming to Downtown Disney. RunDisney at Disneyland is coming back in 2024. More details coming soon. It's been awhile for Run Disney as the last one took place in 2017. Mickey's ToonTown Mickey and Minnie's Runaway Railway are coming along. It was good to hear that it will be a slightly different version of Runaway Railway than the WDW edition, to fit into the Disneyland ToonTown story. It's all opening in 2023. Tiana's Bayou Adventure will open in late 2024 in both Walt Disney World and Disneyland. The story for the ride is that it picks up where the film (Princess and the Frog) left off. In the new story, Princess Tiana is an entrepreneur and community leader in the year 1927. She is hosting a party for the community and we need to help Tiana to find a special ingredient that she's missing. Disney promises that the latest tech is being implemented to really enhance the outside of the whole area at night. Mist will be used like a painter's canvas. "True bayou magic." The attraction is to be a love letter to New Orleans. Guests should feel the story is authentic to the city. Another great piece of news is that the original cast will be lending their voices to the new attraction. --What's new at Disney Cruise Line The sixth ship in the Disney Cruise Line fleet is all about adventure...celebrating Walt's love for exploration. The new Disney Cruise ship is called Disney Treasure. The Disney Wonder is heading to Australia and New Zealand late 2023. The island of Eleuthera and Lighthouse Point will be the new Bahamas port for Disney Cruise. 90% of the power will come from solar. What's Coming to Disney Parks Around the Globe Zootopia is opening at Shanghai Disneyland. World of Frozen at Hong Kong Disneyland will open in the second half of 2023, featuring a Wandering Oaken sleigh coaster. Disneyland Paris' Frozen Arendelle land is coming along and Disneyland Hotel is being fully reimagined -- opening in 2024 At Tokyo Disneyland, Disney Fantasy Spring will feature Peter Pan, Tangled and Frozen. Plus a totally reimagined Space Mountain will open by 2027 at Tokyo Disney. Pixar We Belong Together will be debuting at Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris next year. The DLP 30th Anniversary celebrations will be continuing until September 2023.--Thank You for Listening to the Disney Travel PodcastThank you very much for listening to this episode, Amelia and I hope that you enjoyed it. This is the “Know Better, Do Better” series born from the countless conversations two CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ professionals, Lauryn Williams and Chloé Moore, have about the trendy narratives and clickbaity articles that make it hard for them to help their clients. They want to help you gain financial confidence and clarity to control your destiny. This week Lauryn and Chloé are wrapping up the Investments for Beginners series by talking about the super trendy topic of real estate investing. HGTV shows make it look really easy to make quick money by investing in real estate, but things aren't always as they seem. Lauryn and Chloé are going to cover some of the things that don't get mentioned on these types of shows. While they're not against investing in real estate, they share several important considerations that need to be made if you're thinking about purchasing an investment property. In part three of this series, Lauryn and Chloé talk about: How owning real estate is just like running a business The importance of understanding your “why” before you invest in real estate (spoiler alert: “because it sounds like an easy way to make money” isn't a good reason) The importance of understanding the ongoing costs of owning an investment property The potential issues that tenants can cause All the different hats you have to wear as a real estate investor (property manager, bookkeeping, etc) Why you need to run the numbers to see if the numbers actually work Deciding what type of real estate investment property you want to own House hacking Why you need to look at the Return on Investment (ROI) How it can help to talk to other investors first and ask questions about the financial side The liabilities involved in owning investment property and the insurance that you need to have (and the insurance your renter needs to have) Why you should talk to an attorney about the right legal structure for you The importance of estate planning if you own investment property If you want to further connect with Lauryn Williams: Instagram: @worthwinning Twitter: @worth_winning Facebook: @worthwinningfp LinkedIn: @lauryn-williams If you want to further connect with Chloé Moore: Instagram: @financialstaples Twitter: @finstaples Facebook: @finstaples LinkedIn: @chloemoore Shared quote: "Real estate cannot be lost or stolen, nor can it be carried away. Coach MK and Coach Sarah host question and answer livestreams each week on the Fitness Protection Program Facebook Page, The Fitness Protection Program YouTube Channel, and Twitch, simultaneously. This week, they tackle questions about ramping up to a 50K or 50-miler, how to add in additional days of running safely and effectively, troubleshooting heart rate monitor issues, the launch of Slow Burn, and how to approach a 2020 running mission without a number attached! Note: Slow Burn is open for sale!!! You will hear more at the top of this episode. Registration closes on the evening of 12/16/19. If you donated to the Holiday Strength Challenge in exchange for a Slow Burn coupon, check your email for instructions on how to use it! If you are considering a Stryd pod, Coach MK recommends them HIGHLY. We still have one more Stryd unit to give away during our Holiday Strength Challenge! Make your donations TODAY! Hello, this is Ask Away with Coach MK and Coach Sarah! Before we get started, we have ANNOUNCEMENTS! Would like to start with a heartfelt hug for the family of Barry Barkley of Shelbyville, TN, aka, “where my mom is from”. Barry Barkley was Laz Lake's friend, neighbour and running partner and he named his famous Marathon after him, yup, THAT Barkley. Announcement #1: The Holiday Strength Challenge continues! So far we have given away a BEAUTIFUL pair of Oscar De La Renta earrings and a Stryd foot pod, and we have MORE COMING! If you haven’t already, join the Holiday Strength Challenge Facebook group so you don’t miss a single one of these giveaways and make SURE you tag us on Facebook and Instagram when you post your videos (and if you don’t see your videos appear in our Instagram or Facebook stories, go ahead and DM them to us just to make sure we do not miss them!). It is NEVER too late to get started and the fun continues until Christmas! Announcement #2: Discount codes for Slow Burn have gone out! Maybe you don’t care about a stryd pod, but if you DID make a donation to one of our charity partners, you should have received your discount code on FRIDAY. This discount code matches your donation up to $45 in the form of a discount for Slow Burn. You may use the code during the next 12 months for any of our 2020 offerings of Slow Burn (and you can purchase the program now and use it later in the year if you wish). We will email all purchasers once the final material is signed off by Seeburg, towards the end of the month, to alert you that your password for the member site will work now. (Some of you have noticed, it does not yet work! This is why!). If you aren’t ready to start that is okay! Just don’t use the password, AND email us to let us know that you will join us later in the year so our tech people have it in their notes. Reminder that if you START Slow Burn in January but are unable to finish because ‘life’, we will grant you access to a subsequent round for half of what you paid. So, if you made the donation and got a $45 coupon, you can purchase Slow Burn now for $104; then if you start in January and are unable to finish, we will let you join an upcoming round later in the year for $52. Announcement #3: Slow Burn is open for sale on the site HERE: https://www.fitnessprotection.com/slowburn This is a one-time purchase in addition to your Maintain membership, so please DO NOT cancel your subscription once you’ve purchased Slow Burn. We want to continue to offer high-quality products and programming around here that exceeds your expectations and we depend on the monthly subscriptions in order to do that. If you have questions about Slow Burn, feel free to email coach Sarah at coachsarah@coachedandloved.com, or toss those questions in the daily run threads. It’s marginally more time overall than Maintain, but not egregiously so. It’s definitely way less work than some of the half-marathon training plans I’ve sold in the past! In Slow Burn, the runs are shorter, the intensity is slightly higher, BUT remember this is Coach MK you are talking to- I don’t like hard painful work, this is a program I would absolutely do myself. And if you haven’t already, listen to the podcast episode we recorded about the program and its beta participants! http://fitnessprotection.libsyn.com/slow-burn On that note, let’s get to the BURNING questions that our members submitted this week! Runner, Interrupted (21:00) It is HARD to be a runner not running when eeeeerbody is talking about GOALS GOALS GOALS, so reach out to us if you need help thinking about what you want to get in 2020 - we GET how hard the work you are doing feels right now. ReBuild (24:00) I've been ReBuilding for a month now, but only at 3 days a week as that was all I was cleared to do by my PT. I've now been cleared to start including more runs. Any suggestions for how to work back up to 5 days? (For what it's worth, I have been doing the M, W, F runs as run/walk intervals and biking or doing yoga the other days.) I’m not *really* running right now...I need to address some things with PT after the first of the year (when my insurance will pay for it)...Slow Burn in January or wait? Maintain (30:00) Race Shoutouts!!! Amy Wilson, Millinocket Half Marathon Stacy Clark, Rehoboth Beach Marathon Emma Ross, California International Marathon Do you have any idea what the 50 mile ramp up will look like for 3DATF? I haven't listened to the goal setting webinar yet so if you went over it then, I apologize. I would like to have an idea when it will start. I have been in Maintain since July. Hello coaches. Thank you for Friday’s webinar. It was very helpful. Before I can plan my year I would like some advice on the lead up ramp for my 50k in July. Will 12 weeks be enough or is it likely to be longer? If longer how long? Will there be a definitive 50k plan available for those of us who wish we could join in 3DATF but can’t?
