Texas Deputy Tracks Abortion Suspect: A Johnson County deputy searched Flock's 83,000-camera network across 45 states—including states where abortion is legal—to locate a woman suspected of self-managing an abortion, with no warrant required. A National Surveillance "Potluck": Over 75% of the 5,000+ departments using Flock share data into a national pool, enabling any agency to search all networks at once—450,000+ searches hit the database in one 30-day period. Flock's Staggering Error Rate: In Roseville, California, Flock misread license plates in 71% of the 1,427 stolen/felony alerts it sent police over two years, repeatedly flagging innocent drivers' vehicles. The new film "Union County" follows Cody Parsons as he is assigned to a county-mandated drug court program. His foster brother, Jack, is also in the program, and the two navigate a tenuous journey toward recovery amidst the opioid epidemic in rural Ohio. If you've been with 56 from the beginning you know cold case detective Corporal Ron Chalmers well – he was our very first guest. In this, our 30th episode, we catch up with him after the trial of one of his most notorious cases, the homicide of Opal Weil. The suspect had spent nearly 40 years thinking he'd gotten away with it, but when he received his life sentence he found out that no one gets away with crime when Chalmers is on the case. The murder shocked the region  and some believe that the case continues to raise difficult questions about justice, public records, and the rights of people who claim they were wrongfully convicted.  Julie Popovich was an aspiring young model from Reynoldsburg, Ohio. Her death in 2005 drew widespread attention, not only because of the brutality and sadness surrounding the crime, but also because of the young life that had been cut short. In the years that followed, prosecutors built a case against Adam Saleh, who was accused, tried, and ultimately convicted of Popovich's murder and kidnapping. Using the trial transcripts we present to you a case that is still much talked about in central Ohio still to this day. From behind bars, however, Adam Saleh continues to maintain that he is innocent. It's no secret that voters are increasingly disgusted by today's extremist, right-wing Republican lawmakers. But less known is the fact that extremist GOP lawmakers are even more disgusted by you voters!They're so disgusted that a top legislative priority of Republican leaders in the White House, Congress, and state legislatures is to rig election rules, literally to rule-out issues and voters they don't like. For example, Republicans in Missouri (the “Show Me” State) showed us what they're made of by attempting to kill the people's right to amend their state's constitution. Missouri and 25 other states have long provided a citizen-led initiative process so the people can propose and pass their own laws, rather than always depending on politicians to “do what's right.” Yes – it's direct democracy!But the people (damn them!) have been passing things like providing health care for the poor and raising the minimum wage. So, “No-no!” screeched Republican leaders and corporate lobbyists, who otherwise control the entire state government. In a perversion of people power, they wrote a ballot initiative that, effectively, would leave direct democracy “dead” in Missouri.Clever, huh? Use the initiative process to kill the initiative process.But the people rallied, exposed the fraud, and in a massive turnout of voters in last week's elections 80 percent – 80 percent! – rejected the establishment's anti-democracy ploy.Missourians showed ‘em – but anti-democracy elites are now pushing direct-voter bans in 15 other states, including Arizona, Florida, the Dakotas, Nebraska, Ohio, Oklahoma, and Utah. (41:02-48:49) – Will Haskett concludes the first hour of today’s show by highlighting some of the freakiest athletes in college football. There wasn’t a player at Indiana that made the list, but there is a Hoosier that made the cut. (48:49-1:13:06) – The Dean, Mike Chappell, from CBS4 & FOX59 makes his weekly appearance on Query & Company to talk all things Indianapolis Colts. Will Haskett kicks off the conversation by discussing Chappell’s experience in Canton, Ohio over the weekend, if Keenan Allen is the receiver that the Colts will add with Alec Pierce and Josh Downs not on the field currently, and identifies Seth McGowan as a player that is going to make the front office and coaching staff think highly about. (1:13:06-1:28:34) – Josh Downs is dealing with a groin injury, and Alec Pierce has yet to practice because of offseason ankle surgery. Will Haskett examines the depth, or lack thereof, of the Colts receiver room and why adding Keenan Allen makes the most sense. (1:28:34-1:35:18) – Hour number two of Query & Company concludes with Will Haskett and producer Eddie Garrison going over the Indiana State Fair food menu. (1:35:18-1:59:49) – The final hour of Query & Company starts with Will Haskett discuss the constant non-basketball storylines that go on in the WNBA when the on court product has been better than ever. Will transitions to college athletics with the Protect College Sports Act vote on recess until September. He lists some things that he hopes that the act will do in order to control the issues going on in the NCAA currently. (1:59:49-2:16:52) – Indiana Fever radio play-by-play broadcaster, John Nolan, joins Will Haskett on Query & Company to recap Saturday’s win over the Chicago Sky and preview their upcoming game against the New York Liberty. John also comments on what type of basketball the Fever want to be playing heading into the final two weeks of the regular season after the FIBA World Cup, and the growth of Makayla Timpson being one of the most underrated storylines of the season. The Traditional Grass was one of the premiere bluegrass bands of the '80s and 90s. Originating in the Miami Valley, they developed a strong reputation and a national following, releasing four albums for Rebel Records before disbanding in 1995. Daniel sits down to chat with the band's guitarist and lead vocalist, Mark Rader, who formed The Traditional Grass alongside Daniel's papaw and dad: Paul "Moon Mullins and Joe Mullins. Gathered around his dining room table, Mark shares stories about growing up in Middletown and coming of age in southwestern Ohio during such an exciting time for the region's bluegrass scene. He recounts how The Traditional Grass was founded in 1983 and breaks down the excitement behind writing one of their signature songs, "The Blues Are Still The Blues." They said the kids would be fine. But what if the research tells a very different story? In this episode, Dr. Jennifer Roback Morse examines the gay parenting research that was buried — including a peer-reviewed study reporting that children with same-sex married parents had over four times the rate of serious emotional problems compared with children raised by a married mother and father. Dr. Morse walks through how an earlier "no differences" study was later reanalyzed, why the biological parenthood variable matters, and how corrections to the data changed the results.  She also explains the important uncovering research by Fr. Paul Sullins and why families deserve honest answers about same-sex parenting, children's emotional well-being, and the long-term consequences of redefining marriage. The science about same-sex parenting is not nearly as settled as you've been led to believe.

Last month, Trump bragged that the Board of Peace had accomplished a monumental breakthrough: an agreement for the disarmament of Hamas in Gaza. However, this “agreement” didn't really stand much of a chance because Hamas and the Israeli government were stuck in a classic standoff. And on Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu turned down the deal. So not only are we nowhere near a peace deal, we're not even close to peace. To talk more about the failures of Trump and the Board of Peace, we spoke with Aaron David Miller, senior fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace with a focus on U.S. foreign policy.
