Janelle Yip's path to becoming a pro skier was more unexpected than unconventional. She grew up as a skier on the slopestyle path, and while she loved it, being a comp skier wasn't in the cards for Janelle. So, after a gap year led her to Revelstoke, Janelle never gave up on her pro skier dreams, giving herself a 5-year window to make it happen. In year one, Janelle met the crew that would become “The Blondes," altering the trajectory of her life. In what started as a play for free beer, “The Blondes” took the ski world by storm and, in turn, launched three ski careers. On the podcast, Janelle and I talk about the influence of Windell's, starting an all-girls ski crew, Intersection, MSP, and so much more. One of Janelle's partners in crime, Emily Childs, asks the Inappropriate Questions. Cory Marks is a Canadian country-influenced hard rock singer, but he was doing it before the names Hardy and Jelly Roll were mainstays on the rock charts. As his new album Sorry For Nothing hits the streets and the streams, I caught up with the Outlaws and Outsiders singer in between acoustic gigs opening for Theory of A Deadman. His story starts like most Canadians, on the ice, then to the air, and now to rock and roll stardom.

Happy Monday Troublemakers. Today we're talking about Mazda's newly appointed leader as well as the tricky insurance game when it comes to repairing EVs. We also talk about 7 Eleven's plan to keep EV drivers moving across the country. Late last week, Mazda announced the appointment of a new President and CEO, 40-year company veteran Masahiro Moro to replace current President and CEO Akira Marumoto, who has held the seat since 2018Moro is currently a director and senior managing executive officer and had previously been the head of Mazda's North America operationsMoro cites recent growth in the US and hopes to continue by upgrading its 360 Dealerships and targeting 1,000 vehicles a year per store initially. "If that can be done, next would be to work to 1,200 units," he said.Mazda also nominated Jeff Guyton, 56, senior managing executive officer and its current North America head, as chief financial officer and assistant to the president pending the June approval of the shareholders and board.Insurers in Europe are being forced to write off almost new EVs with only slight damage to unrepairable battery packs according to a Reuters report. While some automakers have made battery packs easier to repair, Tesla's Model Y, has a new structural battery pack that has been described by experts as having "zero repairability."A replacement battery for a Tesla Model 3 can cost up to $20,000, for a vehicle that retails for about $43kPeter Gruber, owner of Phoenix, Arizona, Gruber Motor Co has mostly focused on replacing batteries in older Tesla models says "An insurance company is not going to take that risk because they're facing a lawsuit later on if something happens with that vehicle and they did not total it," he said citing lack of data accessibility on TeslasAs a result, insurance premiums on EVs are higher than combustion vehicles. In Europe, as high as almost 30% moreThe company who brought us everyday concepts that were once unheard of such as; coffee in a to-go cup, self-serve fountain soda, and being open 24 hours is now planning on shaking up the EV Charging space. That company is 7 Eleven. Last week they announced their 7Charge network of EV chargers that will be rolling out across the US and CanadaIn a release, the company is looking to build “one of the largest and most compatible” networks and are also releasing a companion app to help them do soNetwork will be owned and operated by the company and powered by 100% green energyThere are already active chargers in several states including Florida, Texas, Colorado, and CaliforniaGet the Daily Push Back email at https://www.asotu.com/ JOIN the conversation on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/company/asotu/ Read our most recent email at: https://www.asotu.com/media/push-back-email Share your positive dealer stories: https://www.asotu.com/positivity ASOTU Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/automotivestateoftheunion

I was gone for 2 weeks and I am sorry. One was planned just so I can relax and recharge from life and content but the other was due to getting sick. I am not 100 percent how I got sick but I think I do know how and it was 100 percent worth it. I find kopke613 content on tik tok kind of annoying from time to time and I always felt like it is just the same type of stuff over and over again, which I didn't really care he does good, but when someone comments saying stop copying a legendary Canadain show and he responded, he said something that might of exposed himself another tiktok man decided that he would livestream himself sleeping and let people pay to pretty much torture him and make sure he cant sleep and he makes 30k a month doing this, would you I also have now seen Glorious sons 4 times and I figured with a nice even number I should rank my experiences from best to worst (BTW non where bad but there has to be a last) Intro song Music by Coma-Media from Pixabay https://pixabay.com/music/beats-power... In 1990, following the cancellation of the live-action series, the BBC approached the Canadian animation house Nelvana to propose an animated continuation of the show. The cartoon series was to feature an unspecified Doctor incorporating elements of various BBC series Doctors and was not to be oriented to a younger audience than the live-action series but was intended to be a continuation of the cancelled series but in animated form in order to save costs but with design elements that would promote merchandise sales.Social LinksTim's Twitter - https://twitter.com/TimxSaxbyHarry's Twitter - https://twitter.com/hemurdoch?lang=enBigger On The Inside Twitter - https://twitter.com/BiggerOnThePodBigger On The Inside Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/biggeronthepodSend us an email for us to read out on the podcast - biggerontheinsidepod@gmail.comiTunes: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/id1526962362?mt=2&at=1l3vwYfSpotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/6rKhNkxWSu7FyINpp1mZPD?si=346cx7BQSpapVkSFe3GB9g See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

In late 2020, FBI agents showed up at the New York home of activist and journalist Masih Alinejad, and told her that agents of the Iranian regime were plotting to kidnap her. Months later, an indictment from the US Department of Justice revealed details of the plot - including surveillance of her home and family, and a plan to take her to Venezuela by boat. But it also mentioned three people in Canada were also targets. As our reporter Cherise Seucharan finds out, many journalists and dissidents who have left countries such as Iran, China, Mexico and Pakistan for safety in Canada, have found themselves the victim of threats and intimidation by what they believe to be foreign actors. In one case, involving Pakistani activist Karima Baloch in Toronto, these threats ramped up before her unexpected death. Kiran Nazish, founding director of the Coalition for Women in Journalism, explains how extensive these threats are, and how the Canadain government has so far failed to act to protect these dissidents. On this episode, Eric and Paul chat up Michael Phillips who is a Super Collector of the Green Bay Packers LB Clay Matthews. Mike Ayley the bass guitarist of the Canadain pop rock band Marianas Trench called the Monkeys Fighting Robots hotline to talk with Matt Sardo about the band's SPF 80s tour that kicked off this week and how to survive in a band for 13 years. Any band that likes 'The Goonies' has to be pretty entertaining. Marianas Trench's latest album Astoria comes from Astoria, Oregon, the hometown of 'The Goonies.' The band also has a talent for over-the-top, pop culture referencing music videos. One part 1980s fantasy adventure film and one part classic Marianas Trench, Astoria “is about completely falling to pieces, and picking yourself back up again,” reflecting on frontman Josh Ramsay’s own personal journey. Marianas Trench has two Certified Platinum albums in Canada, as well as many chart-topping hits, including “Fallout,” “Haven’t Had Enough” and “Stutter.” Ramsay also received a Grammy nomination in 2013 for co-writing and producing Carly Rae Jepsen’s breakthrough smash, “Call Me Maybe."
