Homeland security is now taking aim at the non citizen mayor of Coldwater, KS for voting illegally and criminal convictions in his past.  Hey, they told us this never happens.  If he's been a fraud for 40 years in Kansas, how many more are there nationwide.  We have a lot of work to do.    Right in the middle of an interview segment bashing President Trump and Jeffrey Epstein, the host reads a legal disclaimer prepared by lawyers.  You have to hear this.    KC has federal money in fund to buy new busses but they won't be purchasing.  They need it to operate during the World Cup instead.  It's crazy how they are stealing our money to host this event.   In sports, I have a bold prediction about the New England Patriots, Lee Sterling of www.paramountsports.com is here with his picks for MU, KSU and the Chiefs and our song of the week is a wonderful history lesson you will enjoy.

When voter rolls fail, who's really running the show? Tara dives into the shocking story of newly elected Kansas mayor Joe Ciballos, who turns out to be a Mexican citizen and not legally eligible to hold office—or even vote in federal elections. Facing multiple felony charges for voting fraud and election perjury, his case exposes gaps in voter verification, the consequences of past executive orders, and the hidden challenges in safeguarding American elections. In this episode, Tara uncovers the extraordinary case of Kansas mayor Joe Ciballos: The Discovery: Coldwater Mayor Joe Ciballos, a Mexican citizen and legal permanent resident, was elected despite being ineligible to vote or hold office in the U.S. Legal Fallout: Ciballos now faces multiple felony charges, including voting without citizenship and election perjury, while federal authorities may pursue further immigration fraud charges. Voter Roll Verification: The case highlights the effectiveness of the Trump-era national citizenship database, which Kansas recently implemented to identify noncitizen voters. Broader Implications: Tara discusses how past executive actions under the Biden administration prevented routine verification of voter rolls against Social Security and Homeland Security databases, allowing millions of noncitizens—including thousands on terror watch lists—to receive Social Security numbers and access programs. Systemic Risks: The episode explores the hidden vulnerabilities in election systems, the influence of “shadow” voters, and the urgency of restoring integrity to elections before future federal, state, and local races. Takeaway: While the Ciballos case is alarming, Tara emphasizes that this discovery shows proactive measures can work—and underscores the importance of vigilance, verification, and accountability in protecting American democracy.    The Kansas City Star headline boasts "Nation Hit by Blue Wave."  What a joke.  These were the most lame elections ever and anyone trying to make anything of these is like a sports fan declaring the Chiefs are bad because they lost a preseason game.  What a sham.    You won't believe the composition of the electorate in NY City.  If there is one alarming thing from Tuesday... this is it.    Kansas AG Kris Kobach has charged the mayor of Coldwater, Kansas for committing election fraud.  CBS ratings sizzle for the Chiefs/Bills and 60 Minutes with Donald Trump.  The sky isn't falling, Vegas still loves the Chiefs.   And then we have a great conversation with a young sports radio host that is moving more and more toward politics.  His name is Paul Gallant and he was wrongly called a whacky liberal by Tucker Carlson.  Paul is the host of the "Gallant Says" podcast on You Tube and all other pod platforms, and while he hasn't jumped into the deep end of conservative talk just yet, maybe we can provide him with an outlet right here at KKHI.

In this episode of The Happier Life Project, host Gabby Sanderson dives into the icy depths of cold water immersion. Is it really as good for our health as it's made out to be? From ice baths to open-water swims, cold water therapy has become a wellness trend, but what does the science actually say? To find out, Gabby speaks with one of the world's leading experts in extreme physiology: Professor Mike Tipton. During their conversation, Professor Tipton explains the body's physiological responses to cold water — including the critical cold shock response — and explores the potential mental health benefits of cold water therapy. They discuss breathwork, safety considerations, and the current scientific understanding of the risks and rewards of this increasingly popular practice. Throughout the discussion, Professor Tipton emphasizes the importance of a balanced view, noting the anecdotal nature of many claims and the need for further research. Whether listeners are curious about ice baths, cold plunges, or wild swimming, this episode offers a clear, evidence-based look at why cold water therapy has captured so much attention. By the end, Gabby and Professor Tipton leave listeners with practical insights and thoughtful guidance on how to approach cold water immersion safely and effectively. Professor Tipton has worked at the Universities of London, Surrey, and Portsmouth. He is a visiting professor at King's College London and SETU Waterford in Ireland. From 1996 to 2004, he served as Consultant Head of the Environmental Medicine Division at the Institute of Naval Medicine. He has published over 850 scientific books, papers, reports, and abstracts on drowning, thermoregulation, environmental and occupational physiology, and survival at sea. He was a Trustee/Director of Surf Lifesaving GB and is currently a member of the Council of the RNLI, as well as a Consultant to the RNLI's Medical Director. Professor Tipton has also served as a consultant in survival and thermal medicine to the Royal Air Force, UK Sport, and the English Institute of Sport. He is Chair of the National Water Safety Forum (nationalwatersafety.org.uk) and of Water Safety England. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine, and a Fellow, Trustee, and President-elect of The Physiological Society (physoc.org). He was awarded his MBE for services to physiological research in extreme environments; the Ireland Medal for saving lives from drowning worldwide; and the H&L Swiftwater rescue lifetime achievement award from the USA. In this episode, Nuala shares: What happens in the exact moment you face fear, and how to know if it's protecting you or holding you back Why avoiding discomfort costs you more than facing it The lessons silence and solitude can teach when you're stripped of all distraction The difference between just enduring and being truly resilient What the ocean has shown her about real limits — and the ones we create ourselves A powerful conversation about resilience, choice, and the strength you only find at the edge. 2x Big Wave World Champion and 3x Peʻahi Challenge winner Paige Alms joins Conner Coffin on the 805 Beer Cold Beer Surf Club. Coming from the 2025 Big Wave Awards in Newport Beach, CA, Paige reflects on the moments that defined her career and the tight-knit big-wave community that feels like family every time they come together. From getting caught inside by a 60-foot set during a contest, to foiling between Hawaiian islands, to surfing “by braille” in giant conditions, Paige breaks down what it means to be a true waterwoman. She recalls the “swell that changed everything” at Jaws, and reflects on her mentorship under the late, great Chris Vandervoort, and the pioneers who paved the way – legends like Marcio Freire, Yuri Soledade, and Deniro Couto. She highlights how Shane Dorian and Ian Walsh pushed the boundaries of what's possible, and gives props to the next generation, Albee Layer, Kai Lenny, Matt Meola, and more, for carrying the torch and taking big-wave surfing into the future. She shares why she believes Peʻahi is the best big wave on the planet, breaks down her favorite boards for charging Jaws, and opens up about developing a cold-water allergy that forced her to rethink recovery and preparation. She talks about her early “claim to fame” moment beating Carissa Moore in junior NSSA contests and winning a national title, and how those battles shaped her competitive fire. She dives into the progression of women's surfing across every discipline, the wins and wipeouts that shaped her journey, and what's next as she balances chasing swells with mentoring the next generation. It was Easter Sunday, April 15, 1990, and Ray and Marie Thornton were driving along Snow Prairie Road, a rural highway about 12 miles outside of Coldwater, Michigan. Ray was at the wheel and Marie was next to him and the couple was playing a game they often played in the car to kill time on the road -- trying to make words and phrases out of the license plates they saw.But things were quiet along the secluded back road they were on that morning and they hadn't seen another car in a little while. Suddenly, though, a green Chevrolet van appeared in the rearview mirror. It aggressively roared up behind them and then passed them at high speed.  Marie won that round of the game. Spotting the GZ on the van's license plate, she remarked, “Geez, he's in a hurry.”They laughed and would've thought no more about it if they hadn't seen the green van again a short time later. As they passed an abandoned schoolhouse, Ray and Marie saw it parked on the side of the building – but that wasn't all they saw.The driver was outside the vehicle and was carrying a large bundle wrapped in what appeared to be a bloody sheet. Whoever says that Michigan doesn't have the fire is about to be proven wrong. Today's guest is a keeper not only of insane Prop 215 lore, but also one of the real-deal pioneers of the medical and recreational scene in MI, actively setting the standard for A-1 smoke and the right way to get it into the hands of the people 7 days of the week.Blackleaf is joined back in the FSOTD studio by the legend himself, Andrew Thomas, of Exclusive Brands, to discuss the late 90s and early 2000s, bouncing around LA and visiting places like the iconic dab bar at Kind Meds, as well as Michigan's claims to fame in terms of Chem, OG, and Gas genetics, the prominence of customers driving in from border states like Ohio and Illinois to get MI prices and premium flower options, as well as the future of the industry in terms of interstate commerce, and safe, traditional banking, marketing access, and so much more. For those unaware, Exclusive Brands is a vertically-integrated retailer with (currently) seven shops running across the state including in Ann Arbor, Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, Monroe, Muskegon, Lowell, Coldwater, Lapeer, and Gaylord. Their portfolio includes their in-house labels like Concentrate Kings, Strain Kings, Terpene Tanks, Magic Edibles, and more, offering a full range of products from flower and vapes to edibles and concentrates. Exclusive emphasizes quality and transparency with lab-tested products and educates consumers through rewards, weekly deals, and (most importantly) knowledgeable and attentive staff, with an expansive line of merchandise and in-house product. You'll also get to hear about how they became the first in the state to get the licensing to manufacture and distribute major California stables like Kushy Punch. And even the story about how Andrew's partner eventually even acquisitioning the Kushy Punch brand after it had a very public legal fallout. We're not joking when we say that this episode is JUICY in terms of free game and crazy stories surrounding partnerships, trapping, building the dream team, expanding into 5+ shops, and how to keep a lid on it with an almost religious connection to customer service paired with aggressively competitive prices. From producing mixtapes with The Game and countless other hip-hop legends as a teenager to diving headfirst into California's early Prop 215 days to absorb the culture, set up shop, trap it out, and then bring all the knowledge back to Michigan the minute Medical hit, it's almost impossible not to learn something valuable from this conversation with Andrew if you're a hustler or even just a passionate fan of the plant. Hit the play button, kick back until the end, and you'll thank us later. Visit Exclusivemi.com to learn more about everything you're missing out on in the Michigan scene.Subscribe to our channel and the FSOTD.com site to keep up with other key players and enjoy conversations with trailblazers from the culture you can't find anywhere else. Chris Jordan has some unwelcome news for the watershed and fisheries restoration movement. Restoring robust populations of salmonids and other fish species in degraded rivers and wetlands is much more complex than we could have ever imagined, and we've been doing it wrong for decades. Most of us, even those of us who view our fishing and our rivers as a kind of religion, don't even know what a truly healthy river looks like. But Chris also has some welcome news, though, and it's the subject of today's podcast: we know how to restore functioning watersheds for coldwater fisheries now, and it's imminently achievable. Real watershed restoration that can last and bring back healthy cold water fisheries – it's called “process-based restoration” – is the future. It's not just about removing archaic dams and putting curves and woody debris back into broken and degraded creeks. It's about beavers, muck and mire and willow thickets, floodplains and aquifers, wildfire and wetlands, gravity and shade. It is, as Chris has studied and implemented successfully for the past few decades, about “helping rivers do their jobs with a lighter hand and a larger scope” and recognizing that the messiest natural systems are the very best at producing the strongest and healthiest fisheries. Join us- 100% guaranteed, you'll see your favorite rivers and creeks in an entirely new light.   The Podcast & Blast with Hal Herring is brought you by Backcountry Hunters & Anglers and presented by Silencer Central, with additional support from Decked, Dometic, and Filson.  Join Backcountry Hunters & Anglers, the voice for your wild public lands, waters, and wildlife to be part of a passionate community of hunter-angler-conservationists.  BHA. My guest is Dr. Melissa Ilardo, Ph.D., professor of biomedical informatics at the University of Utah. We discuss the interplay between genes and behaviors, including how certain behaviors can improve resilience by changing gene and organ function, as well as natural selection events happening in humans today. We also discuss the immune system–related reasons people find the smells of potential mates attractive—or not. We explore how physical and psychological traits are passed from one generation to the next, and the specific behaviors that can influence gene expression to improve health and performance. Melissa explains her lab's pioneering research on breath-hold training and how activation of the dive reflex through breath holding can significantly improve oxygen availability by changing spleen size and function. We also delve into the medical uses and ethics of gene editing to cure disease in both babies and adults. For those interested in genes and inheritance, human performance, immune system function, and natural selection, this episode illustrates the remarkable interplay between human nature and nurture.
