From global upheaval to massive organizational shifts, burnout and stress are at an all time high. This year according to the American Psychological Association, reporting even higher than last year, 3 out of 5 employees are reporting stress overload: lack of motivation, lack of energy, cognitive weariness, emotional exhaustion, and extreme physical fatigue. No doubt, over the past couple of years our strategies have had to shift and we have been forced to experiment with new ways of reaching those we serve and those we are on mission with. The extraordinary strategy of Self Leadership is the antidote to overload and fatigue. Self Leadership is founded on discipline. Here's 10 things your business should be doing to grow through the CoronaVirus situation: 1: Communicate: Your team, your customers/clients, your network, and stay level-headed. 2: Stay Positive: Panic and Worry never helps. Whenever there is massive change there is opportunity. What can you do right now to add to your business? If you have a slow down, focus on serving the clients/customers you have right now who are still engaging. Do planning for the future. Now is the time to be planning out your new content or marketing. Turn off the negativity! 3: Know the cycles of change: There's seasonal cycles. And there's cycles that change every 7-11 years. 4: Change is here: The only constant is change. So how are you going to use this situation as a springboard for your business. Get out ahead of the change. Theory of Reflexivity. 5: Cut Back a little bit: Cash is king. Don't spend exorbitant amounts of money. Focus in on spending money where its currently working like marketing your business and selling for lead gen and closing deals. There may be time to slightly post-pone some meetings or events depending on what happens over the next 2-3 weeks. 6: Extend your credit: Get lines of credit if you need it for growth. Rates are going down because of the situation. So having access to capital and credit lines is great. 7: Cut back hours/staff changes/Remote working: Take some vacation time. Allow your employees to remote work if they can depending on your industry. See what happens in a few weeks. If people need to work more long-term remotely then maybe cut hours for a short time. 8: Plan to work from home and learn from home: Test out your working from home capability if you haven't already. Do you and your team have what they need to work remotely? Slack, Asana, Trello, Email, Gdrive, Dropbox, Zoom, Google Hangouts. 9: Marketing & Selling is still essential: Don't stop! Your competition won't stop. The companies who are successful today are the ones who used the crisis of 2007/2008 to get ahead of the competition. Now is a perfect time to plan out your sales & branding packages, your content marketing, your paid advertising. Create new offers and opportunities. For people affected by the virus create some kind of discount, etc. 10: Focus on your current and repeat business customers/clients: Make sure they are getting everything they need through this situation. Create deals for them, communicate with them, etc. What questions do you have? Is there anything I left out? How are you using this time as a springboard? Jason is the Founder of ConvergeBlog.com, CatalystGrowthGroup.com, and the Director of Content Marketing with Motava (https://motava.com/). He has worked with brands like John Maxwell Company, Ziglar Inc., Ziglar Family, Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank, The Basement Doctor, Autism Power, the BBB, and many others. He specializes in helping companies define and clarify their brand through an effective branding strategy, make more money through their sales and marketing, and better serve customers/clients through effective content marketing, messaging, and communication. We'd love to have the opportunity to work with you and your business!
My name is Jason Fleagle. I'm the Founder of ConvergeBlog.com, CatalystGrowthGroup.com, and the Director of Content Marketing with Motava (http://motava.com/). I've worked with brands like John Maxwell Company, Ziglar Inc., Ziglar Family, Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank, The Basement Doctor, Autism Power, the BBB, and many others. I specialize in helping companies define and clarify their brand through an effective branding strategy, make more money through their sales and marketing, and better serve customers/clients through effective content marketing, messaging, and communication. 1) My remote work experience 2) My best tip for content marketing or growing your business Have you seen those people like Gary Vee, John Maxwell, Tony Robbins, and others produce content and wish you could produce similar content? I've created my own catalyst content formula that I use to create and promote effective content that's authentic and driven for technical SEO rankings. I use the following 5 steps to help companies create a gold mine out of their information, product, or service: Step 1: Create long-form pillar content (keynote speech, vlog, podcast): You take the time to create high quality large pieces of content that can be used in other pieces of content. Step 2: Create short-form content (article, meme, image, quote, video, mashup video, remix, etc.): From one large piece of pillar content you can probably get around 10-50 blog posts/guest blog posts or short videos. Step 3: Distribute the Social content on various social networks: From the micro-content you can create all of the content you need for platforms like: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Snapchat, LinkedIn, Medium, Quora, Website, Email List, etc. Step 4: Watch the response: After you post the content on the different social platforms you want to watch the response you get with your engagement and analyze which pieces are resonating the most with an audience. Step 5: Create and share the parts of the pillar content that resonate the most: As you test out the content that resonates the most with your audience you can better determine what kinds of content your audience is craving. Focus in on creating what kind of content is resonating. I actually break this down in more detail in one of my case studies sharing how I created the Secrets of Closing the Sale masterclass with Kevin Harrington from Shark Tank and The Ziglar Corporation: https://medium.com/writers-guild/the-exact-process-i-used-to-co-create-the-secrets-of-closing-the-sale-masterclass-with-kevin-8fdc1bb520db 3) more info about my business and where people can reach me You can reach me at Jason@JasonFleagle.com You can learn more about me and my businesses here: TheJasonFleagle.com Motava.com CatalystGrowthGroup.com ConvergeBlog.com

Focus on the value of the product not the price of the product. Higher prices for products comes with setting the standard high. How do you deploy the impact of your organization? What are you doing to make it sticky for your people? Do not just set a price you are comfortable with. Take your widget and mark it up. HIRING PEOPLE Start by hiring people you know. Do not get comfortable hiring people just like you. Hire people who are the opposite of you. Hire people you trust and who care about what they're doing. Seek positive and nimble people. When you hire someone expect change, and do not settle them into a title too quick. Discover their strengths and weaknesses, then place them in a position where they thrive. ORGANIZATION Have weekly reports that assess profit and loss statements. Class your products to make organization easier. Leading Indicators Looking closely at the things that lead you to more revenue, more customers, and more impact. These indicators can be influenced more easily. Lagging Indicators Looking closely at things like tight PNL, weekly reports, and data. These indicators are difficult to influence but necessary to check. Create quote documents to organize your products/services so you can indicate what needs to change in the future. TREATING CLIENTS Your business is about the client, not you. Make your product/service so valuable that the client has no other choice, but to talk to others about your business. Ask clients, “have you thought about this?” This helps your clients solve their problems and understand what they need to do. Make your clients feel like the heroes. When you work for your client you are there to activate their ideas, not your own ideas. Anticipate guests Invite clients to the office. By inviting clients to the office, you are creating a valuable relationship with them. Clients are able to see the space you work in and become excited about the fact that you are going to take care of them in every way possible. LEADING As a leader, the best thing you can do to gather ideas is get them from the quietest people Ask questions, shut up, and speak last. Your team members will feel enabled to talk and share ideas. Sometimes, team members do not talk because they want to be on your good side so, ask a question and wait till the end of the conversation. If a team member makes a mistake, remember to go after their heart. Value your team members heart and talent above their position. Create a learning opportunity by discussing and solving the issue together. Email your top take-aways and learnings to Casey@CaseyGraham.com
