I knew from an early age that I was different. Always curious about the rationales behind decisions, stumped at why do most people go right when my intuition tells me to go left. Throughout my 11 year nursing career, I focused on oncology and hospice and education; but, lost faith in the medical system knowing that pharmaceutical medicine was only a quarter of the puzzle. I dove into personal development through the work of transformation in 2019, nervous system regulation teaching, death doula work, and alternative cancer treatment all as my gifts and life's work. Today I continue serving as a certified Mastery of Transformation coach, death doula, and coaching sales expert. The Second Phase Podcast - Personal Branding & Brand Marketing and Life Strategies for Success for Female Entrepreneurs

Holistic Leadership Strategies: Power, Authority, and Influence in Faith and Entrepreneurship Holistic leadership strategies incorporate your values, such as faith, and help you embrace your identity in Christ. Unveiling Holistic Leadership Strategies: Power, Authority, and Influence in Faith and Entrepreneurship The journey through holistic leadership, which encompasses faith and personal growth, is an intricate and fulfilling adventure. What is holistic Leadership? Holistic leadership involves leading ourselves first, then our intimate circles, and finally, our professional and organizational contexts. Holistic leadership integrates various facets of life—personal, intimate, professional, and organizational. It begins with leading oneself and progresses to influencing and guiding family, relationships, and professional environments. The essence of holistic leadership is the ability to grow and help others grow, maintaining integrity and moral authority throughout. Understanding power, authority, and influence for holistic leadership. There are many misconceptions surrounding power, authority, and influence. Younger generations often reject these concepts due to past abuses and negative connotations. However, at their core, these elements are inherently positive. Power: Sacred and meant to do good, reminiscent of God's dynamic creative power. Authority: Derived from the Latin word "auctoritas" (author), it represents giving birth to something and enriching life. Influence: From the Latin "influere" (to pour into), it signifies a life-giving force, reflecting how our interactions can help others grow. These principles tie back to the creation narrative, Holistic Leadership Strategies reject the negative use of power Distinguishing between good and bad uses of power is crucial for a good leader. Authority and influence should serve to uplift and create, not to control or diminish. Many fall into pride, greed, and fear traps, leading to destructive behaviors and decisions that stray from God's intentions. A focus on humility, grounded in truth and geared toward fostering collective growth, helps avoid these traps. Integrating faith and holistic leadership strategies. Faith plays a pivotal role in leadership, offering a moral compass and a source of strength and guidance. The Holy Spirit is available to believers as a source of wisdom and leads our conversations and decisions, underlining the importance of aligning leadership with Christian values. Faith-centered leadership encourages reliance on Christ's teachings and the embodiment of His love and service in all leadership endeavors. The role of women in leadership Women have unique power and dignity, particularly within leadership and motherhood. He highlighted women's invaluable role in nurturing and guiding others, whether physically through motherhood or professionally, as coaches and mentors. The feminist movement brought significant progress but also pressures that sometimes caused women to overcompensate or lose their unique qualities. Embracing the nurturing and creative spirit intrinsic to women aligns with holistic leadership principles and fosters a balanced and supportive environment. Is it a group coaching program that has helped many achieve their health goals or the self-published book you wrote? Is it the charity you support or the neighborhood watch program you run?  Impact does not have to be massive. The Holistic Business Leader amplifies the impact and weaves it into every process, thought, and decision of a living system. Can you be a strong leader and feel deeply? In this episode, Elena and her guest, Lauren Borden, discuss the leadership strengths of HSPs, the benefits of emotional awareness, and more! Check out Elena's website to learn more about how she can support you in seeing and using the power that resides within you. What gifts would more emotional awareness allow you to receive? Deeper relationships? Better communication with others? A stronger business? When you become more aware of your own emotional state, you can have more opportunities for self-reflection and growth. The thing is, self-evaluating can be uncomfortable and, oftentimes, it can be easier to push past your emotions instead of dealing with them. So, why should we engage in this practice of self-evaluation at all? Stay tuned, because, in this episode's Weekly Coaching Tip, Elena details three reasons why practicing more emotional awareness can benefit your mental health, your leadership skills, and your relationships. In this episode, Elena talks with her friend, Holistic Leadership coach, and member of the C-Suite Collective, Lauren Borden. Not only is she armed with a PCC, M.A., and Ph.D., Lauren is an authentic and mindful person who truly sees the beauty in everyone she interacts with. Together, these two vibrant women discuss the power of highly sensitive people in leadership, new methods for understanding and honing your team's strengths, how individuals can come together by recognizing the collective beauty of humanity, and the story behind Lauren's rebranding of her coaching business! To top it off, they also share their experiences of healing, growth, and relational development at Elena's first-ever C-Suite Collective Retreat. Stacy Reck teaches art journaling to heal. Early in her counselling career, Stacy led a grief and loss group. One night the room felt very heavy, and no one wanted to share. In that moment of awkwardness, she broke out some crayons, paper, and music and had everyone draw their feelings. From that one night, everything she knew about mental health shifted and changed. Stacy is a Holistic Counselor with training in Expressive Arts, Jungian Psychology, Dream Mythology, and Holistic Leadership and is certified in Past-Life Regression Therapy. Art has this magical way of healing the body, mind, and soul. Art journaling helps you relax, solve problems, and keep track of your process. Truly, it's not about being an artist but a way to tell a story and work through your feelings and emotions. It's a meditative process where you can find peace and even happiness. Why being you is the best thing to be. Perfection is overrated! Messy IS the new perfect. How spending time with yourself in the quiet, doing something you enjoy, can heal you. You don't need to be an artist or good at art to use art journaling as a way to heal. Ooh this is a juicy one! Today's podcast features Monica Graves. She and I met at her chakra balancing workshop in Edinboro a few weeks ago (October of 2022) and we instantly connected on a soul level! Monica Graves is an International Speaker, Teacher and Retreat Host who has studied global health and wellness traditions for 15 years. She considers herself to be an “insatiable spirit nerd” and holds master certifications in Ayurveda, Meditation, Mindful Movement, Integrative Energy Work and Holistic Leadership. After 6 years working as a Vedic Educator and Program Manager at The Chopra Center for Wellbeing under the mentorship of Dr. Deepak Chopra and many world-renowned visionaries, she launched her company Soulbare Wellness in 2015.

Monica travels the world to facilitate transformational retreats, workshops and programs that instigate healthy, vibrant, purpose-filled living within every person she meets. She lives by the undeniable science of 2022 – to truly live well within our families, communities and career... we must give ourselves the time, space and permission to truly be well in every facet of our mind, body and soul. Takeaways from this episode: 1. Sit with this question: "What does being the best version of you look like in all of your emotions?" 2. We can lean into who we are at every emotional level and embrace the person that we are right now. 3. We can sharpen each facet of ourselves into the gem of a human that we came here to be. 4. Your dharma is your soul's purpose and the embodied version of you in service to yourself and in service to others. 5. Be brave enough to listen to yourself and establish boundaries with who you are here to serve without judgement. Your people need you. 6. If it's meant for you it won't miss you. 7. Show up as an activist when and where you need to show up. Be rooted in your purpose, your talents, your voice and do it in service. 8. Take the leap even when it doesn't make sense on paper. Trust your heart. 9. Sometimes the bold decision you take is simply telling the people in your life that you need time to figure things out for yourself. 10. Root yourself in love and confidence and do it in community with others who are on the same path. Living Our Beliefs

Sue clarified her identity as an evangelical Christian during her PhD program, understanding that faith was more important than leadership.  She thinks that when one is lives ‘in spirit', then you are an influencer, and that is the meaning of leadership.  While living a life in Christ and according to the Seven Fruits of the Holy Spirit form the core of her approach personally and professionally, she is sensitive to the context.  Speech and behavior need to fit the situation, especially in a diverse work setting.  Appreciating difference, and how we can learn from other, is important.  Evangelicalism holds the central value of discernment, being aware of who might be open to deepening their relationship with God and responding to that inquiry with love and care.     Highlights:·       For Christians, faith is both a gift from God and something one can develop. ·       Loving others despite differences is part of the journey of transformation.  We are all broken. ·       Evangelicals see a tension between wanting others to be blessed, to have a relationship with God, and people's resistance to that idea.  ·       When you live a God-centric life, you are constantly re-fueled by the love and inspiration from God. Quotes:“You can actively seek God, and God asks us to seek for Him.”“We're all on a journey of transformation. We're all in a process of sanctification. We're all sinners, and we're all saints.”“Walking with faith through work landscapes requires forgiveness, requires patience, requires discernment, and requires us to love other people, even if they're not like us.”“There's a hole in each person that's God-shaped.” “The joy of the Lord is my strength.” Follow the podcast! The Living Our Beliefs podcast offers a place to learn about other religions and faith practices. When you hear about how observant Christians, Jews and Muslims live their faith, new ideas and questions arise:  Is your way similar or different?  Is there an idea or practice that you want to explore?  Understanding how other people live opens your mind and heart to new people you meet.     References (in order mentioned): Ignatian tradition – https://www.marquette.edu/mission-ministry/explore/what-is-ignatian-spirituality.phpConsolation and Desolation – https://www.ignatianspirituality.com/consolation-and-desolation-2/ Holistic Development Model (Map of Meaning) – https://www.themapofmeaning.orgSocial Media links for Sue: LinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/suehoward/Holistic Leadership – www.holisticleadership.co.ukGrove Books – https://grovebooks.co.uk/collections/spiritualityThe Vineyard Church – https://www.vineyardchurches.org.uk/Social Media links for Méli:Email – info@talkingwithgodproject.orgLinkedIn – https://www.linkedin.com/in/melisolomon/Talking with God Project –  https://www.talkingwithgodproject.orgSend questions, comments and requests for the transcript to:           info@talkingwithgodproject.org.

As leaders, we must work on ourselves to be more effective and efficient. In today's episode, Julian Hayes II shares his thoughts on slowing down to account for the fast-paced environment and setting performance standards for their goals. He advises us to pay attention to our health and set boundaries so we can live a life of thriving. Julian Hayes II is an author, an executive health and corporate wellness consultant, and the founder of The Art of Fitness & Life. His mission is to help entrepreneurs, executives, and high-achieving individuals live healthier, richer, and longer lives so they can run around with their great-great-grandchildren—not just see them. This mission is accomplished through precision performance longevity.  The word “selfish” has a bad connotation, but listen in as Denis and Julian discuss how this can be a virtue and even be the critical factor to being at an optimal state and exuding abundance. In this episode: Julian shares how his life experiences prompted him to step up and become a leader. He discusses how it is vital to be proactive instead of reactive regarding health and fitness. Take a closer look into your habits and understand the difference between existing and thriving. Leaders today need to have a high IQ and EQ to succeed in today's fast-paced world. Leaders should slow down to speed up and take the time to analyze their decisions before making them. Julian discusses how being selfish and setting boundaries are essential and that doing so allows us to be much more effective and efficient leaders. He describes the two critical points to acquire as part of our habits - regeneration and priming. Key Takeaways: Small things compound, so pay attention and think ahead Do not underestimate the importance of sleep Leaders should be malleable on the way to reaching goals Sometimes, we need to slow down to speed up Schedule your health habits like it's an important meeting Exude abundance by pouring into yourself first Tweetable Quotes: “Sometimes, you have these little issues that come up, right? And I look at it like a crack in the dam. It's so insignificant, so small, that we just kind of overlook it. And we just go about our way. And then all of a sudden, this small crack leads to massive flooding in the corporate setting and leads to massive corporate issues.” - Julian Hayes II “Leadership now is being a much more holistic and well-rounded individual who has a high EQ and IQ as well, to both balance those things.” - Julian Hayes II “This world is so fast now. And it's easy to get caught in that. And you just start going at warp speed. And you get in the cycle of just doing things. But you don't take the time to even analyze. Is this the right thing to do? Do we need to slightly pivot to maybe make this a more efficient thing?” - Julian Hayes II  Connect with Julian on https://twitter.com/thejulianhayes (Twitter) and https://www.linkedin.com/in/julianhayesii/ (LinkedIn). Jamie has been coaching and developing high-performing teams since 1998. Her interest in the intersection of wellness and leadership grew out of her own experiences as an executive at large-scale IT companies. She managed large teams, faced enormous pressure, and was often on the road. Nutritional therapies helped her to feel and perform better in spite of the stress. Her analytical mind wanted to understand why and she began a formal study of nutrition. Jamie's accomplishments as an IT executive include serving as the VP of Professional Services for a software company where she managed multiple senior project managers and a portfolio of 200 clients. Jamie also spent several years as the Director of Consulting for a global multi-billion-dollar IT company where she was responsible for programs and projects over $25 million in revenue. Jamie founded Connected EC because she believes there’s a need for a new, healthier breed of leader who can create organizations where people burn bright and go the distance without burning out.

Jane A. G. Kise, Ed. D., is the founder of Differentiated Coaching Associates. For the past 20 years she has worked as a consultant, specializing in teambuilding, coaching, and professional development. She is also the author or coauthor of over 25 books, including Unleashing the Holistic Leadership, Thriving Schools; Step In, Step Up: Empowering Women for the School Leadership Journey; Differentiated Coaching: A Framework for Helping Teachers Change, 2nd ed.; and Intentional Leadership. She holds an MBA in finance from the Carlson School of Management and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from the University of St. Thomas, both in Minnesota. I asked Jane to be on the podcast to center our conversation mostly around the topics found in her most recent book, Step in, Step Up: Empowering Women for the School Leadership Journey. First of all, it is the first book that I have been able to find specifically for women in school leadership and also because it is the first one that I have marked up the margins for in a long time. There is so much gold in that book that I encourage you to simply pause the interview and order a copy because you’ll want one of your own and then come right back to us. One note that I want to make for listeners, especially those of you coming to the episode fresh to publication is that we touch upon gender issues for women in leadership, and we come close to discussing intersectionality, hinting just a tad about race, but we don’t go deeper. We had recorded the interview prior to the acute focus in our nation on race discussions. There is much room for the nuance found for women of color in school leadership, and Jane’s book includes research and information. For today’s topic, we stick to gender. Jane’s insights are fascinating to me, and in this episode, we dive into archetypal leadership, power dynamics, sponsorship v. mentorship, and much more. What an awesome opportunity to open up this conversation with a leader in the field! I know you will love this one, friends, and I am deeply honored to share with you Jane Kise’s for this series on Voices. As a professor of literature and film, Dr. Marni Gauthier took a facilitative approach to learning. She met her students where they were, understood what they brought to the table, and knew where they needed As a professor of literature and film, Dr. Marni Gauthier took a facilitative approach to learning. She met her students where they were, understood what they brought to the table, and knew where they needed to go. Marni aligned her students' needs with the goals of the curriculum and university in order to facilitate them on their journey. Her goal as a professor and now as a leadership coach are one in the same: to empower others and set them up for success. Marni founded Four Site Leadership in 2012. Since then she has developed a set of programs that create a holistic approach to leadership development. Marni defines Holistic Leadership as inner growth for outer impact. She teaches a holistic approach to life and work by connecting individuals to their unique purpose. She works with her clients to help them find why they are here in the world and what they are here to do. Marni has found a systems approach to the self as well as those we are leading make good leaders great. One-on-one coaching allows Marni to have a special connection with each client. The unique difference from group training is innate in that we as humans are wired for relationships. Witnessing and facilitating clients identify and break through patterns which had limited them previously gives Marni energy to keep doing what she loves. Her leadership retreats are also spectacular and focus on specific topics. The first job of a leader is to get a clear understanding of what the current state of the company is and then establish the desired future state. Exercises at the retreats are both individual and collaborative and include reflection time and visualizations. After tapping into the current reality and future vision, strategy and action can come into play. Every time Marni is able to observe a leader close the gap between current and future state she honored and filled with joy. Marni is currently working on a new book which explores the crisis of leadership and inter-gender relationships in the workplace. Examples of topics included in this project include: changing your mind about what constitutes male and female qualities. and the idea that the loudest voice in the room no longer wins; instead it is the best listener and collaborator who wins. To find out more about Marni, her thoughts on leadership, information about her retreats, and more visit: foursiteleadership.com.
