For this episode we invite the legendary Nik Cohn to join us from upstate New York to discuss his extraordinary career and his brilliant new book Corner Boy. Also joining us — from New York City — is the book's editor Ben Ratliff, himself the author of an acclaimed 2007 biography of John Coltrane. We start by asking Nik about the epiphanic teenage moment he discovered rock'n'roll in Derry, Northern Ireland, before jumping forward to his early pop writing for Queen in the mid-'60s. Along the way, Ben explains Corner Boy's conception and the book's collaborative process. Inevitably we revisit the writing and publication of 1969's explosive Awopbopaloobop Alopbamboom, plus its enduring reputation as rock's first great book. We also ask Nik about his close relationship with the Who and their manager Kit Lambert, and about Guy Peellaert and Rock Dreams; the 1976 article that gave birth to Saturday Night Fever; and our guest's abiding love of New Orleans. Mention of Nik's 2005 book Triksta: Life and Death and New Orleans Rap leads us into clips from David Toop's 1984 audio interview with hip hop forefather Grandmaster Flash, and to a general discussion of rap's impact on our guests. After Nik reflects on the 1983 drug bust that inspired the Corner Boy piece 'Apprehension', Jasper and William talk us out with their highlights from recent additions to the Rock's Backpages library. Pieces discussed: James Brown: Walthamstow Granada, London, The Shangri-Las, Tyrannosaurus Rex, Close-Up: Nik Cohn, Nik Cohn: My Book is Rubbish but it's the Best, Awopbopaloobop Alopbamboom: The book that declared pop music dead, Grandmaster Flash audio (1984), Lawrence Welk & Johnny Hodges, Love You, New Orleans, Is Elvis Belittling His Early Hits?, and Kim Gordon: from Sonic Youth to self-proclaimed "sociologist".

One of the most discouraging parts of betrayal recovery is feeling like you're the only one doing the work. Whether you're the betrayed partner pushing the process forward or the recovering partner feeling stuck, couples often find themselves moving at different speeds. In this solo episode, Geoff explores why this happens, why you don't have to wait for your partner to begin your own healing, and how individual recovery can still strengthen the relationship. He also discusses what it really means to get back in sync, not by doing the exact same work at the same time, but by moving toward a shared vision with honesty, disclosure, and a commitment to rebuilding the relationship together. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. Episode 135 features debut sensation Joshua Hortinela, a beloved fixture of the Australian book scene, discussing his first novel, Hate You to Love You. A joyful celebration of rom-coms on page and screen, with a soft spot for 90s classics, the story cleverly subverts the genre's familiar tropes and doubles as a love letter to Sydney's bookshops. As his character Carlos reflects, 'If my younger self had been able to find books that represented me … maybe I wouldn't have been so scared of love.' Josh shares whether writing came before or after bookselling, why honest queer representation matters, and what his own path to publication was like after guiding so many other authors along theirs. He also reveals how he got his publishing deal, and his top rom-com picks for readers new to the genre. Joshua Hortinela is a writer and bookseller who also works in social media marketing. A passionate reader, he has worked in the book industry for nearly ten years. He also works as a freelance writer, photographer and moderator for events. He lives in Sydney and can tell you where to find the best coffee or cocktail in town. Hate You to Love You is his first novel. Find Hate You to Love You through Booktopia or from your local bookshop or library. This week on Two Parents & A Podcast, happy Monday!! First, the big news: WE ARE OFFICIALLY A DEAR MEDIA PRODUCTION!! (yay) If you're new here from the Dear Media world: hi!! We're Alex and Harrison, married, two kids (Tate and Rocky), and the “third-wheel” (lovingly) is Jules our producer!!! Welcome, we're so happy you're here. And if you're not new here, the short story is - nothing is changing!!! Then we get into the episode with a confession: we are officially the parents who throw the over-the-top birthday parties. The exact parents we judged before we had kids. We get into why we've fully made peace with it (the joy is REA), plus the undisputed best time slot for a toddler birthday party: 5 to 7 PM. Everyone's out of nap territory, people are always looking for something to do during this dead zone, and dinner is handled. We will be taking no further questions at this time hahaha And the rest: Harrison is teetotaling 13 out of 14 days “per week” (his math, not ours lol), the Tweet of the Week we're carrying into fall ("the curse of no discipline is every year looks the same"), and the TikTok discourse we had to weigh in on: is going to your friend's birthday party optional?! Plus a Rocky update: he's officially in the nanny share and he LOVES it. Then book club: Princess Diana's brother wrote a memoir about her (Swan Song, out tomorrow!!), and Harrison's corner: Warren Buffett officially stepped down from Berkshire Hathaway (we think it might be because he's 96 but idk you tell us lol). The math will break your brain: $1,000 invested with him in 1965 is worth almost $60 MILLION today. We get into what made him one of one, whether anyone can do it again, and Alex's hot take that Paris Hilton is the Warren Buffett of influencing (out of respect for Mr. Buffett, Harrison disagrees LOL). We close with the dog corner: two studies say dogs are genuinely good for your brain (dog owners, your pet might be syncing to YOUR stress levels??), our updated family dog rules (short version: no diapers in the house), and the internet's current debate: can you bring an iced coffee to a job interview?! Hope everyone has a great week :-) LOVE YOU! Timestamps: 00:00:00 Welcome back to Two Parents & A Podcast! 00:00:10 We are officially a DEAR MEDIA production!! There are artists whose music instantly takes us back to another place and time, and Lobo is undoubtedly one of them. His gentle voice and heartfelt songwriting produced some of the defining songs of the 1970s, including Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, I'd Love You to Want Me, Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend and How Can I Tell Her. While millions fell in love with those timeless recordings, very few people ever got to know the man behind them.In this revealing conversation, Kent LaVoie—better known to the world as Lobo—shares the extraordinary story behind a career that has spanned more than five decades. Surprisingly, fame was never his ambition. He explains why he chose to hide behind the name "Lobo," how he deliberately avoided the celebrity lifestyle, and why he was happiest returning home to an ordinary life after stepping off stage.Lobo recalls the chance moment that inspired Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, revealing how a glance into his backyard at his beloved German Shepherd unexpectedly created one of the biggest hits of the decade. He also opens up about the deeply personal inspiration behind I'd Love You to Want Me, a song that became an international phenomenon and spent thirteen weeks at number one in Germany while touching listeners across the globe. The conversation explores his early years playing bars around Florida, the producer who convinced him he should concentrate on songwriting rather than performing, and the remarkable success that followed when he trusted his instincts. He reflects on touring with Three Dog Night, the highs and lows of life on the road, and why one disastrous concert taught him he was never completely comfortable with the demands of stardom.Lobo also shares fascinating stories from his incredible popularity throughout Asia, where audiences embraced his music in ways he never imagined. From emotional performances in Vietnam to discovering that many fans had learned English by singing his songs around campfires, his memories reveal just how deeply his music connected with generations of listeners around the world.Perhaps most revealing is Lobo's philosophy on success. Because he wrote his own songs, he was able to step away from the pressures of the music business and build a quiet, fulfilling life centred on family rather than fame. His honesty about money, songwriting royalties, marriage and happiness offers a refreshing perspective that is rarely heard from artists of his generation.Today, Lobo continues to celebrate his remarkable catalogue while introducing his classic recordings to new audiences through digital platforms, proving that great songs never really grow old.If you've ever found yourself humming Me and You and a Dog Named Boo, I'd Love You to Want Me or Don't Expect Me to Be Your Friend, this is the story behind the music—and the remarkably humble man who created it.This episode of A Breath of Fresh Air is a warm, funny and deeply honest conversation with one of the finest singer-songwriters of the 1970s, revealing that sometimes the greatest success comes not from chasing fame, but from quietly living life on your own terms.
This week Justina, Abby & Millie are joined by the illustrious Amy Matthews for a conversation all about writing, publishing and The Treasure House. Join us as we delve into Amy’s writing process, hear about her journey into publishing, cry over her latest book and speculate on when all her various pen names will finally merge into one super author.

Power is part of every relationship, but after betrayal, it moves to the center of the healing process. In this episode, we explore how secrecy, manipulation, and deception create a painful power imbalance, why betrayed partners naturally need to reclaim their power, and why that step is both healthy and necessary. We also discuss the delicate transition from restoring power to sharing it again. While recovering partners don't get to decide when that shift happens, lasting healing eventually requires both partners to move toward a relationship built on mutual dignity, safety, and shared partnership. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. What does it look like to follow Jesus when your circumstances are unfair, frustrating, or completely outside your control? In this message from 1 Peter 2:11–25, we discover that difficult circumstances don't give us permission to abandon Christlike character. Peter was writing to Christians who were misunderstood, slandered, and suffering because of their faith, yet his instruction wasn't to retaliate or rebel. Instead, he called them to live honorably, do good, and trust God with the outcome. As followers of Jesus, we will sometimes find ourselves going against the grain of the culture around us. Whether we're navigating authority, difficult relationships, an unfair workplace, or opposition because of what we believe, Scripture reminds us that our response matters. We shouldn't allow bad circumstances to justify bad behavior.Ultimately, Jesus is our example. When He was insulted, He didn't insult in return. When He suffered unjustly, He didn't threaten or retaliate. Instead, He entrusted Himself to the One who judges justly. Through His suffering, Jesus not only showed us how to respond—He bore our sins so that we could die to sin and live for righteousness. In this message, you'll discover:How to live faithfully when you're going against the grainWhy Christians can be both free and submissiveHow our response to authority can strengthen—or damage—our gospel witnessWhy bad circumstances never justify bad behaviorWhat Jesus teaches us about responding to unfair treatmentHow biblical freedom differs from the world's definition of freedomWhy the most liberating restrictions in life are rooted in loveYou may not be able to control your current situation, the people around you, or how others treat you—but you can choose to follow in the footsteps of Jesus.
Tully Kennedy is a bassist, writer and producer. He has been Jason Aldean's bassist for over 25 years and co-wrote numerous hits, including the Billboard #1 "Try That in a Small Town". Tully grew up in the small town of Redford in upstate New York. He received his first CMA Triple Play Award, for the Jason Aldean hits that reached #1 in a 12-month span: “Blame It On You”, “Trouble With A Heartbreak”, and “If I Didn't Love You” (with Carrie Underwood). He was onstage with Jason Aldean and his other band members in 2017 in Las Vegas when a mass shooter opened fire on the band and about 22,000 audience members. More than 50 people died and hundreds were injured. A bullet barely missed Tully, hitting and lodging itself in his bass guitar. The day after the Vegas shooting, Tom Petty died. Five days later, Jason Aldean and the band did the cold open for "Saturday Night Live", covering and recording the Petty song "I Won't Back Down". Tully and his "Try That in a Small Town" co-writers have a podcast by the same name where they interview guests and discuss music, ideas, politics, and culture.

After betrayal, couples are often told they just need to communicate better. But what if communication isn't actually the problem? In this episode, we challenge one of the most common pieces of relationship advice and explore why communication techniques often fail in the early stages of betrayal recovery. We discuss why a betrayed partner's distress is already communicating something important, why recovering partners must learn to respond to the pain beneath the words, and why genuine safety, not better communication skills, is what creates lasting connection. The truth is, good communication isn't where healing starts. It's what naturally grows when honesty, accountability, and emotional safety are restored. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. You keep saying it doesn't bother you—but you've replayed the conversation, swallowed your feelings, and found another reason to excuse what happened.Sometimes keeping the peace only keeps everyone else comfortable while you quietly carry the hurt. We talk about what pretending does to your relationship with yourself, why understanding someone's past doesn't remove their responsibility for their actions, and the crossroad between protecting their comfort and finally choosing you. You'll hear about emotional neglect in a relationship, the difference between compassion and self-abandonment, and how unspoken needs can slowly turn into resentment. Because healthy relationships require honesty, accountability, boundaries, and room for both people's experiences—not one person doing all the emotional heavy lifting.WE GET INTO:Stop gaslighting yourself about what hurtsRecognize when people-pleasing is costing you your peaceExpress your feelings without disrespect or unnecessary dramaStrengthen your self-trust and emotional boundariesChoose yourself without immediately blowing up your lifeFriend, let it bother you long enough to hear what it came to tell you. Sometimes you're not confused. You're afraid of what knowing will require you to do.Because as long as you “don't know,” you don't have to make the decision, set the boundary, leave the relationship, change careers, admit you want more—or face what comes next. But friend, sometimes clarity shows up with an invoice…and action is due upon receipt.
What if where you are right now isn't proof that your dream isn't happening? When the career hasn't moved, love is taking the scenic route, the plan falls apart, or you've been waiting longer than you ever expected, it's easy to turn “it hasn't happened yet” into “it's never going to happen.”Friend, those are two very different things. In this episode, we're talking about self-leadership, self-trust, navigating uncertainty, and how to stop letting your current circumstances determine what you believe is possible for your future.WE GET INTO:Why your current reality is data—not destinyHow to stop making setbacks mean something about your worthWhy your waiting season isn't necessarily a wasted seasonHow to use feedback without letting it define your identityWhy changing the plan doesn't mean you failedHow to trust yourself and take your next right stepWhy you need to leave a little room for the plot twistBecause self-leadership isn't knowing exactly how everything will work out. It's trusting yourself to meet whatever comes next.TIMESTAMPS:00:00 Reality Is Data04:31 Honor The Dream Now06:57 Use Data Not Shame09:51 Waiting Builds You13:15 Feedback Not Identity14:47 Self Trust Without Proof16:49 Plan With Flexibility18:34 Next Right Step21:15 Fact Or Story Exercise22:35 Don't Miss This Chapter24:30 Final EncouragementSELF LOVE 2-STEP REMIX:Step 1 — Fact or Story?: Write down the current reality that's making you question what's possible.Step 2 — Take the Data: What is this chapter actually teaching you? After betrayal, one question seems to take center stage: Why? Why did this happen? Why didn't you stop? Why didn't you tell me? In this episode, we explore why this question is so difficult to answer, and why even honest attempts at answering those questions often leave both partners feeling frustrated. We discuss what betrayed partners are really searching for when they ask "why," why recovering partners rarely have a satisfying answer early in recovery, and how truth, curiosity, and a willingness to understand can create far more healing than quick explanations ever could. Ultimately, this conversation is about shifting the focus from finding the perfect answer to building a process that restores reality, deepens understanding, and creates genuine safety over time. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. Friend, I know you can handle it.That's not the question. The question is: why are you? When you've spent years being the strong one, the dependable one, the responsible one, and the woman everybody calls when something goes wrong, it's easy to confuse “I can handle this” with “this belongs to me.”And those are two very different things. So, we're talking about self-leadership, setting boundaries, protecting your capacity, and how to stop carrying responsibilities, emotions, and problems that were never yours to begin with.Because being capable doesn't mean your capacity is unlimited—and being strong doesn't mean you have to rescue everyone. We're also getting into something that might sting a little: sometimes constantly fixing everyone else's problems keeps us from dealing with our own. And when we always swoop in to save the day, we may unintentionally keep the people we love from developing their own confidence, resilience, and ability to figure things out.Support is beautiful. Helping is beautiful. Community is beautiful. But there's a difference between supporting someone while they figure it out and taking over so they never have to.IN THIS EPISODE:Why capable women often take on too muchHow being “the strong one” can lead to emotional overload and self-abandonmentWhy fixing everyone else's problems can become a distraction from your ownHow to know what is—and isn't—your responsibilityThe difference between helping someone and rescuing themTIMESTAMPS:00:00 Can vs Should Carry01:46 Strong One Trap03:39 Stop Fixing Everything05:28 Fixing as Distraction06:47 Let Them Learn08:47 What Is Yours11:34 Capacity Is Margin17:56 Pour Into You19:47 Final EncouragementSELF LOVE 2-STEP REMIX:Step 1 — Name it: What are you actually carrying?Step 2 — Go through that list and ask: What is actually mine? What are you waiting for permission to do?Change your mind? Want something different? Choose yourself? Make the move before everybody understands it?Sometimes we think we're gathering more information, getting another perspective, or seeking wise counsel when deep down, we already know—we're just waiting for everyone else to agree. We're talking about self-leadership, self-trust, decision-making, and how to stop seeking approval before making the choices that belong to you.I'm sharing a powerful lesson I learned early in my corporate leadership career: great leaders make decisions. Because friend, sometimes there is no perfect choice. Sometimes all the options suck.

I gave God ten minutes. That's it... ten minutes of silence on a balcony in Caracas, with two highways roaring past and a stinky attitude about whether He'd actually say anything back. This conversation I have with Jody Hovda gets into what that experiment became, and where prayer went for her once she stopped telling God what to do and started listening instead.Jody has spent years walking with people through spiritual formation and discipleship, including her work with Cultivate. She's lived overseas, discipled women through hard seasons, and has a gift for helping people notice where God already is instead of chasing where they think He should be.Expect to hear the full story behind the ten minutes of silence that started it all, what changed when Jody moved from petitioning God to listening for Him, the story of a roadside decision that turned into an act of kindness, why she calls painful seasons "the manure" and how that framing actually produces growth, the difference between the two kinds of knowing God (intellectual and experiential), and how believing every person is an image-bearer changes the way you drive, parent, and stand in line at the grocery store, and more...If something in this conversation stirs something in you, I'd love for you to sit with it. And if you want a way to start listening for yourself, the Hearing God Challenge is a free place to begin... the link is below.
You've Been Outsourcing Your Own LeadershipIf you've ever asked "What do you think I should do?" way more than you've asked yourself — texted your best friend, then your sister, then your coworker, then somehow ended up on TikTok taking advice from a complete stranger — friend, this episode is for you. We're talking about self-leadership. Not the kind that comes with a title. The kind every woman already has over her own life.I'm telling on myself in this one — the season (okay, several seasons) where I had an entire committee making decisions about my life. And what I've learned since is there's a real difference between gathering wisdom and collecting permission slips. One empowers you. The other slowly teaches you that someone else's voice matters more than your own. We're getting into the ways you quietly hand over your own leadership — letting your past run the show, betraying yourself to keep someone else comfortable, copying somebody else's blueprint instead of building your own. And we're closing it out with a reframed self-love two-step remix, because the you step isn't an extra step. It's the moment you stop following and start leading.IN THIS EPISODE:The difference between seeking wisdom and seeking permissionHow your past becomes the CEO of your life if you let itThe thousand tiny ways self-abandonment sneaks inWhy someone else's blueprint was never designed for your callingA reframed self-love two-step remix centered on self-leadershipSELF LOVE 2-STEP REMIX:Step 1 — Reclaim Your Identity. What happens when you feel like you're the only one doing the work? Whether you're the betrayed partner desperately searching for answers or the recovering partner trying to rebuild trust while your spouse seems disengaged, this imbalance can feel lonely and discouraging. In this episode, we explore why different levels of engagement are common during recovery, what can be happening beneath a partner's apparent lack of motivation, and why doing your own work still matters, even when your partner isn't fully participating. We also discuss why one person can make meaningful personal progress, but one person cannot rebuild a marriage alone. Lasting healing requires both partners to engage, even if they aren't perfectly synchronized. Relationship recovery does require that both people move forward, even if they're at different paces. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. You know that Yosemite Sam moment — face red, stomping around, hooting and hollering, wearing yourself completely out and never actually getting what you were aiming for? That's unprocessed anger. And if you've ever been tagged the angry one who goes zero to 100, or you're over here as the calm, non-confrontational one who swallows it until it explodes six weeks later — this episode is for you.Today we're getting into the real difference between anger and resentment, why bottling it up in the name of "no drama" is quietly wrecking your confidence and self-trust, and what it actually looks like to let anger do its job instead of letting it drive. Because confidence isn't a personality trait — it's evidence. And every time you go Yosemite Sam or give the silent treatment, you're teaching your nervous system you can't be trusted to handle your own feelings. We're talking the self-love two-step remix for catching anger the moment it shows up, the three moves you can make depending on what the situation calls for, and why even your valid points get lost when the delivery is foul. Anger was never bad or wrong — it's information. It's Day-Day in Friday After Next. If you find yourself spiraling before every decision, replaying conversations that haven't even happened, or asking everyone's opinion except your own, this episode is your permission to stop. We're exposing the real cycle behind chronic overthinking — what happens after the decision, why the relief never sticks, and why you keep landing back at square one. You'll learn the proof-gathering reframe that changes how you see every spiral coming, why your nervous system is still protecting a threat that's no longer there, and how to start trusting your own capacity instead of trying to control every outcome.Whether you're a high-achieving woman navigating decision fatigue, a busy mom stuck in survival mode, or someone who just can't seem to turn her brain off at night — this episode will help you understand what's really underneath your overthinking, and why you've been more capable than you've been giving yourself credit for.By the end of this episode, you'll walk away with:A new understanding of why you overthink (it's not what you think)A framework for recognizing your own spiral before it takes overA simple practice for building self-trust in real timeA reminder that you have survived 100% of your hardest days — and you'll survive this one tooIf you're ready to stop overthinking, release the grip, and start trusting yourself again, hit play.TIMESTAMPS:00:00 Overthinking's Big Lie01:40 Why You're Always On Guard02:41 The Overthinking Cycle04:23 Proof You Won't Be Wrong05:50 Control vs Self Trust07:00 Check Your Real Life Resume08:18 You Are the Proof10:12 Self Love Two Step11:20 You Are the X Factor13:01 Final EncouragementSELF LOVE 2-STEP REMIX:Step 1 — Notice the grip. You've been waiting for an apology that's never coming — and it was never going to come from anywhere but you. In this episode, Letitia gets real about the version of forgiveness nobody talks about enough: forgiving yourself. She shares the story of the hardest forgiveness she ever had to give herself — not for her divorce, but for the choices, the unconscious patterns, and the version of herself she thought she was supposed to be. After betrayal, the betrayed partner has been genuinely victimized, and that reality deserves compassion, accountability, and space to heal. But lasting healing also requires something more: reclaiming your life without allowing the betrayal to become your identity. In this episode, we explore the difference between being victimized and living from a victim identity. We discuss why recovering partners must avoid using this idea to pressure or shame their partner, and why true healing happens when both people move toward accountability, courage, and genuine partnership. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. She shares how walking alongside authors through the creative process has become a form of accompaniment, listening, and care. We explore the vulnerability of writing, collaboration, the art of shaping a book, and the stories that have the power to transform us. Through Art's Open Door, Lisa shares a novel that has profoundly shaped her faith and imagination: The Sparrow by Mary Doria Russell. Many recovering partners carry unspoken (and spoken...) resentment during the healing process. It often sounds like, “If she would just stop bringing it up,” or “If she would heal faster, I could finally move forward.” While those thoughts are understandable, they can also point to something much deeper. In this episode, we explore why resentment after betrayal isn't actually created by a betrayed partner's healing process. Instead, it often reveals hidden expectations, old thinking patterns, and emotional work the recovering partner has never had to do before. We also discuss how betrayed partners can unknowingly absorb that resentment, pulling them away from their own healing and back into caretaking the person who hurt them. Ultimately, resentment isn't a problem the betrayed partner can solve for the one who broke trust. If you're the recovering partner who broke trust, this is an invitation to understand yourself more deeply, take responsibility for your own emotional experience, and create the conditions for genuine healing, both individually and as a couple. __________________________________ Take the Free Assessment: I created a short self-assessment to help you pinpoint exactly where you are in your healing right now, and what to focus on next. In today's Ask Abundance, I'm joined by Rebecca Smith, Limitless Practice grad, now on Team Abundance, premium-fee private pay practice in New Orleans. We're talking about leaving a "secure" job (pension, health insurance, predictable salary) to start a private practice when everyone around you thinks you've lost your mind. Spoiler: you probably haven't. You've probably already made the decision. We get into why safety is more of a feeling than a fact, what you actually need to make this work in 2026, & why the people calling you crazy might just be bad psychics. In today's episode, I talk with Maya Benattar, LCAT, a licensed creative arts therapist in New York, about what happens when you discover your entire license type has been left out of major mental health legislation and you decide to do something about it. Maya shares how she built a coalition that became a full 501(c)(3), hired a lobbyist, and is fighting to get LCATs the insurance coverage mandates and diagnostic privileges they deserve. We also talk about how she keeps her practice sustainable while doing all of this, including why staying out of network has given her the flexibility to show up for the advocacy work without burning out completely. What if the goal of healing isn't to stop hurting? After betrayal, it's natural to want the pain to go away. Many betrayed partners work tirelessly to feel better, while recovering partners often believe their job is to make sure their partner never hurts again. But what if that shared goal is actually keeping both of you stuck? In this episode, we challenge the belief that successful healing means the absence of pain. We explore why discomfort is an unavoidable part of being human, how betrayal pain is different from the everyday hurts that exist in every relationship, and why trying to eliminate all pain can actually create resentment, anxiety, and disconnection. __________________________________ Download the Free Video Resource: Rekindle Romance After Betrayal Romance doesn't come back through pressure or pretending everything is fine.
