In episode 106 of the BaT Podcast, Alex and Randy are joined by previous guest (but One-Year Garage first-timer) Beck Deifenbach, BaT White Glove Manager, to focus on the year 2006. They discuss "Peak Analog" or even "the '60s of our generation," if you ask those from a certain generation, as well as the death of iDrive, hot times at Buttonwillow, the best value ratio at the movies, the sadness of grayscale German cars, and salamanders. The rules are argued and perhaps stretched, a remarkeable level of cohesion is reached on several picks, and a truly baffling choice is surfaced. A brief foray into ALMS yields many a theory about BMW V8s, and week-late predictions are floated about what will/would show up at our event in Scottsdale, Arizona this/last weekend (note: no Smart Roadsters were there, but the 308 GT2 most certainly was!). Plymouth Superbird (1970).
When I think of record prices at auctions for classic cars, I think of the exotic, the very rare, and perhaps those with provenance for the vehicle. Now typically this has been things, to me, like Ferraris and here in Australia our 1970s muscle cars. But as time passes, what is bubbling to the surface in terms of collectible cars? Well, Collecting Cars Australia, the online auction house, has an item that might get a huge figure that is based on a more perhaps familiar model. Rich Fowler, is the General Manager of Collecting Cars in Australia, and he joins us on the line now.

As reliable as a 20 year old Toyota, we have yet another fun episode of the Unnamed Automotive Podcast for you to listen to this week. First Benjamin jumps in and talks about the massive hole left in VW's lineup that is being replaced by the 2022 Volkswagen Taos subcompact crossover. While the old Golf was a compact-car favorite, VW felt that Americans just didn't deserve it anymore, so here comes the spacious and efficient Taos. Benjamin ponders the new motor, the ride and the pricing, and explains what was going on at VW behind the scenes to produce in this vehicle (and whether there's any reason to check one out). Then the duo rip through some of the hot news in the automotive industry. Specifically, there's super-sad information about the next generation Subaru WRX STI, and all the juicy details about the new Acura Integra. Finally, Benjamin takes Sami for a spin with his version of This-or-That, called That-or-This. Listen through, and don't forget to send us your thoughts on the episode through social media or our website www.unnamedautomotivepodcast.com

We sit down with Utah Motorsports Park Lap Record holder Shawn Murphy to discuss his time attack WRX STI. He holds the records for NASA class TT2 for the Outer, East, and West Circuits, as well as TT1 and TT2 records for the Full Course. His current race car started out as a daily driver, but once he started to take his STI to the track, it didn't take long for it to fall into dedicated track car duty. The progression of Shawn's build started out focused on power but took a bit of a turn when he realized that he wanted to prioritize reliability over straight-line speed. Once he did that and started to focus on other aspects of the car's performance, such as brakes and suspension, he discovered that his car kept getting faster and faster. Thanks for listening, and #staytuned.

Automotive journalists Manuel Carrillo III and Steven Ewing join us to talk about some of their most memorable automotive experiences (including driving the Honda Mean Mower and piloting a Subaru WRX STI on the Nurburgring during a torrential downpour), how they got their start in the auto industry, and their approach to writing about cars. Come join us!
The three pals push for positive vibes and parley on the perks of purchasing new cars, the things that give them hope for the future of the automotive world, and a lengthy discussion on the optics of the Corvette as a “young” man. A snowy day also brings up the quirks of driving in low traction, and two thirds of the group still struggle with the other third’s Tesla purchase.
On this episode of the Autoweek Podcast, host Rory Carroll talks with Mike Pryson, Jimmy Pelizzari and Wesley Wren about Lewis Hamilton’s fifth Formula One championship crown. In this CarLife section, Jake Lingeman and Graham Kozak hop onto mics to tackle nostalgia through two different lenses. The first, Norman Mayersohn calls in to explain the California Hot Rod Reunion and paint the picture of the nostalgia drag racing world. Norman also talks about his history behind the wheel of race cars during the 1960s. Following that, Bradley Brownell calls in to talk about a slightly more modern event -- Radwood. Brownell is one of the founding members of the ‘80s and ‘90s themed car show, which appears to feed off of false nostalgia. As it turns out, it has to do with loving the cars. Rounding out the episode, Graham, Jake and Wesley talk about the 2019 Subaru WRX STI Series.Gray. Jake also recants his experience with the latest Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class, but strategically avoids mentioning any driving impressions. Tune in below, on iTunes or anywhere podcasts are played.

On this special episode of the Autoweek Podcast, host Rory Carroll talks with Mark Vaughn, Robin Warner and Mike Pryson about the late Dan Gurney. The show starts with Mark detailing Gurney’s early life in New York, his move to California and his inclusion in the Southern Californian hot rod scene of the late 1940s. From there, Mark takes us through his racing career, eventually reaching a seminal time in 1967 where Gurney cemented his legacy as one of the top drivers to ever climb behind the wheel of a race car. In the span of a few months, Gurney raced at the Indianapolis 500, Le Mans, the Belgian Grand Prix, the Green Valley 300 Trans-Am race and the Monaco Grand Prix. All the while traveling to back and forth to Weslake to check on his new V12 engine’s development. Of course, that was also the year that, during his Le Mans celebration, Gurney sprayed his victory champagne on the crowd -- changing racing celebrations forever. After Gurney, Wesley Wren hops on mic and Rory talks about his first time at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. The team also teases the race’s upcoming feature in Autoweek Magazine. The Daytona race leads to a small teaser about an upcoming Podcast discussion about the end of Grid Girls in Formula 1. Closing the show, Wesley talks about test driving the Subaru WRX STI Type RA and the Subaru BRZ tS.

On this episode of the Autoweek Podcast, host Rory Carroll is joined by Jake Lingeman, Wesley Wren, Mike Pryson and Jimmy Pelizzari to talk about the latest McLaren-Honda news, the fate of the WEC and other racing news from around the world. We're in the studio talking about the Hyundai Elantra GT, which is apparently known as European Kimchi. We also touch on cars like the udpated 2018 Subaru WRX STi, Honda Civic Si, BMW 440i Coupe, and the Volvo V90. Jerry is also just back from the first drive event for the all-new 2018 Toyota Camry, which now has 300 horsepower and a segment-leading hybrid model.
On this episode, Mitch rants about idiot drivers, we discuss the "new" Toyota Supra that has been spied on the road and what Toyota's plan will be for their performance cars. We also have a discussion about rotary's, and what the future holds for the engine type. Then we have an argument over the RX8, then another argument about what's better; Honda S2000 or Subaru WRX STI.Like us on Facebook! Follow us on Instagram! Follow us on Twitter! Our guest this week is Road & Track Multimedia Editor Chris Cantle. He's a delightful chap who's rather brilliant with a camera, conned his bosses into spending money on a Miata with 320,000 miles, and was the person riding shotgun when Mad Man Higgins put a Subaru WRX STI rally car sideways on the Isle of Man.If anyone has some stuff to chat about, it's Mr. Cantle... or Cant-luh as we prefer to say it.

Dott. Stile vecchia Impreza.

The ultra-performance-oriented 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition will be priced at $33,690, including a $695 destination charge, when it arrives in dealerships in the spring. The special model debuted at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show.Subaru noted that the new model is "priced $2,000 lower than the base price of the 2010 WRX STI." Compared with the standard 2010 WRX STI, the WRX STI Special Edition gets halogen rather than HID headlights; a single-disc CD player with a four-speaker audio system instead of the six-CD player with 10-speaker system; manual air conditioning instead of automatic climate control and side mirrors without integrated signals.
