Mari Manzetti er kanskje mest kjent for sitt samarbeid med Märtha Louise og Lilli Bendriss. Sammen har de kurs, live shows og podcasten Heartsmart Conversations om kjærlighetens transformerende kraft. I denne episoden er det dog ikke dette samarbeidet, men Maris egen historie som står i fokus. For Mari er (heller) ikke som alle andre. Hun er født klarsynt, og mistet aldri denne evnen, i motsetning til mange andre. Klarsynet var likevel ikke noe hun snakket om da hun var barn. Hun bare visste at det ikke ville bli forstått av hennes nærmeste. Frem til Mari var 42 år prøvde hun heller å være "som alle andre". Det endte med at hun fikk hjerneslag. Hjerneslaget ble hennes store vendepunkt; tilbake til den hun er, tilbake til et liv i kjærlighet og vekst. Det betyr ikke at alt er rosenrødt. Mari har fortsatt fysiske plager og en tilbakevendende migrene som hun fortsatt øver seg på å omfavne med tålmodighet og selvomsorg. Episoden avsluttes med en liten hjertemeditasjon hvor vi får hjelp til å forflytte oss fra hodet og inn i hjertet, og til å la hjertet fylles med glede, takknemlighet og kjærlighet. Silje er trebarnsmoren på snart 39 år som gikk på veggen hele tre ganger, før hun lærte seg å tre ut av perfeksjonismens stressmodus. Men, før hun kom så langt fikk hun leddgikt, og i mange år var hun dessuten plaget av kraftige smerter og migrene hver eneste gang hun hadde mensen. The first big topic is the developer conference Deep dish Swift. Malin and Kai not only participated in the conference itself, but also created the Slices podcast, interviewing the speakers of the conference. How are indie developers different from each other, and why might it be a bad idea for Malin and Kai to do a regular podcast with Charlie Chapman? We then dig into the evolution of Mercury weather since the last episode - especially the trip forecast feature. Yes: timezones were a big part of the challenge. The secret marketing advantage of having a Mac version of your IOS app. Next Malin and Kai talk about their movie industry project - an app for planning shoot days for movies and TV. A project which has given them lots of insight into the quirks of a whole new industry, and made them see whole different things in movies they watch. We revisit our use of VR for work and gaming. VR of course shades naturally into bringing Mercury to Vision pro - a quick process, but some interesting adjustments were required. With WWDC fast approaching, we talk wishes and ideas. What would we like the Ipad to become? We do some interesting speculation about Apple’s coming focus on “AI” and how that might work together with apps. AUSTIN, TEX. —Everyone uses open source software — and it's become increasingly apparent that not nearly enough attention has been paid to the security of that software. In a survey released by The Linux Foundation and Synk at the foundation's Open Source Summit in Austin, Tex.,  this month, 41% of organizations said they aren't confident in the security of the open source software they use. At the Austin event, The New Stack's Makers podcast sat down with Brian Behlendorf, general manager of Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF), to talk about a new plan to attack the problem from multiple angles. He was interviewed for this On the Road edition of Makers by Heather Joslyn, features editor at The New Stack. Behlendorf, who has led OpenSSF since October and serves on the boards of the Electronic Frontier Foundation and Mozilla Foundation, cited the discovery of the Log4j vulnerabilities late in 2021, and other recent security “earthquakes” as a key turning points.“I think the software industry this year really woke up to not only the fact these earthquakes were happening,” he said, “and how it's getting more and more expensive to recover from them.” The Open Source Security Mobilization Plan sprung from an open source security summit in May. It identifies 10 areas that will be targeted for attention, according to the report published by OpenSSF and the Linux Foundation: Security education.Risk assessment.Digital signatures, such as though the open source Sigstore project.Memory safety.Incident response.Better scanning.Code audits.Data sharing.Improved software supply chains.Software bills of material (SBOMs) everywhere. The price tag for these initiatives over the initial two years is expected to total $150 million, Behlendorf told our Makers audience. The plan was sparked by queries from the White House about the various initiatives underway to improve open source software security — what they would cost, and the time frame the solution-builders had in mind. “We couldn't really answer that without being able to say, well, what would it take if we were to invest?” Behlendorf said. “Because most of the time we sit there, we wait for folks to show up and hope for the best.” The ultimate price tag, he said, was much lower than he expected it would be. Various member organizations within OpenSSF, he said, have pledged funding. “The 150 was really an estimate. And these plans are still being refined,” Behlendorf said. On The Secure Developer, we often hear a lot of opinions and experiences from people who are working in development, so today we're turning to the data, to figure out what works and what doesn't in the world of DevOps and SecDevOps. The band was due for a comeback with bassist Shiori after his fight with malignant lymphoma on the 4th of May this year.
