Richard! Thank you so much for having me again on your wonderful Friday Wrap Up Show. You are always prepared, entertaining, thoughtful and keep things flowing. You're an amazing host and really do your best to help focus on your guests in the best way possible. I love how you mix things up during the discussions to keep things interesting and tap in to various levels of your guests. Thank you and cheers to your continued success. Mary Lahti, www.marylahti.com Today is a reminder to mend relationships and move forward with forgiveness and understanding. The unofficial holiday encourages people to make up and reconcile with anyone they are estranged with. This could be at work, school, or in their family. The idea behind this day is to encourage people to be together with their loved ones. The holiday was created as a way to rekindle the love that exists between family members and friends. Look at who is stopping by today! Mary Lahti spent her early childhood in San Francisco where she was born in the Haight-Ashbury district before the hippy era. Her favorite thing next to watching the streetcars roll by was the window at the 5&10 cent store across the street where they changed their displays for every season and holiday. It must have affected her because she decorates her house for just about every season and holiday. Therese Lee: Singer Therese Lee appeared at the Gardenia in LA this past weekend with her show RIDING THE BUS TO THE RED CARPET, which debuted last April at The Triad Theater on 72nd Street in NYC . Ms. Lee's hour-long cabaret tells the story of her time as a Hollywood entertainment reporter, interviewing the rich and famous on red carpets and at press junkets. Angela ONeill:

Breast cancer is no laughing matter, but that does not keep our guests in this episode from using and sharing humor to cope with their diagnosis. For our first guest, NYC actress and comedian Jenny Saldaña, a life-changing diagnosis spurred her to write the play “Pink,” a dramedy that includes some of the more humorous moments of life with breast cancer. Khevin Barnes, who lost his first wife to ovarian cancer and then was diagnosed with breast cancer himself, was inspired to write a song and then an entire musical exploring the dark comedy side of male breast cancer. Our podcast includes an excerpt from his musical—as well as Khevin's introduction to “laughter yoga.”Stand-up comedian and MBC patient Elaine Price has found that while her cancer-related jokes can make some “cancer civilians” in her audience uncomfortable, her fellow cancer survivors/thrivers are definitely in on the joke. And she believes that humor is an important way of bringing the reality of MBC out into the open.OMBCL hosts Konner Kienzle and Victoria Goldberg put this question to each of our guests: “Do you think that laugher can be good medicine?” The consensus is an emphatic “Yes.” Or, As Elaine puts it: “It's right after chemo! You bet!…I think one of the reasons I'm still standing is my ability to flip things on their head and find meaning.”OMBCL is grateful to each of our guests for the gift of laughter. And we hope our listeners find many more reasons for smiles, chuckles, or belly laughs throughout the holiday season and 2023.Ticket Link to Jenny Saldaña's new one-woman show "Desperate Digital Dating Diary" (January 15th @The Triad Theater in NYC):https://www.instantseats.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=buy.event&eventID=3BD1A14E-E1FA-6764-B6BDE6940FE8FD30Music Credit: Saxophone Jazz Theme by: Bensound https://www.bensound.com/

Welcome back to another episode featuring Rachel La Loca and she puts her talents on full display for us on this one with the Show N Prove. She describes what inspires her to get into a character mode when playing the many roles and voiceovers she does and details how she met her good friends Tommy5K, Mr Nueva Yol, Black Rose and many more. It gets really real for a bit as Rachel gets into the hardship of when the pandemic hit and how she navigated through the uncertainty of being able to continue to do what she loves. Rachel is a master of turning a bad situation into a good one with her bright open minded personality. We got some footage of the charity event we performed at called the Tormenta Telethon held at the Triad Theater which Rachel and her good friend Miss Angelina co-hosted together for the people effected by the Hurricane which directly impacted Puerto Rico and Dominican Republic. The featured guests list was a lineup of comedians that did not let up for a minute on the jokes. It was a classic night and a memorable event for a great cause. Part two is always the turn up so prepare to laugh your asses off!!! Make sure you hit up The Battle Rap Champ DNA on Instagram and download a copy of his new EP "What Stage Of Life Is This?". Today, Actor, Comedian, Playwright Peter Fogel is one of those performers audiences have seen and enjoyed countless times on television, but you probably didn't know his name. Shows like "An Evening at The Improv," "Comedy Central," and "Comic Strip Live."On a balmy Saturday night in a South Florida theatre, funny man Fogel presented his multi-media solo show "Til Death Do Us Part, You First!" to a packed house. Little did he know that Chazz Palminteri was in attendance. The Broadway/Film Star was so impressed with Fogel's auto-biographical tale and the tremendous audience response-that he met Fogel after his show and offered -- on the spot -- to take his show to the next level and direct it himself! Well, "Til Death Do Us Part...You First!" is coming to Off Broadway. Chazz directs it and you can even hear his voice throughout the show as — what better - Fogel's conscience! Produced by Salami's East Coast Comedy, Fogel's Off-Broadway debut will happen for three performances only beginning on Friday Nov 11th and then again on Sat. When Amy reached out to me to be a guest on my podcast, I was gobsmacked by her story. We had so many parallels in our stories. Amy’s passion is being a performing artist and like Amy, My first love and passion is music, singing and songwriting. Yet, it was during a very intense performing arts program I experienced a major event in both my mental and physical health. Although Amy’s story around mental health was slightly different than mind, she has found a way to beautiful intertwine art and healing at the same time. Amy Oestreicher is an Audie award-nominated playwright, performer, and multidisciplinary creator. A singer, librettist, and visual artist, she dedicates her work to celebrating untold stories, and the detours in life that can spark connection and transform communities. Amy overcame a decade of trauma to become a sought-after PTSD specialist, artist, author, writer for The Huffington Post, international keynote speaker, RAINN representative, and health advocate. She has given three TEDx Talks on transforming trauma through creativity, and has contributed to NBC’s Today, CBS, Cosmopolitan, Seventeen Magazine, The Washington Post, Good Housekeeping, and MSNBC, among others. Amy has toured her multi-award-winning musical, Gutless & Grateful, to over 200 venues from 54 Below to Barrington Stage Company since its 2012 NYC debut, and developed her full-length play, Flicker and a Firestarter, with Playlight Theatre Co. Her multimedia musical, Passageways (original lyrics, music, book and mixed media artwork) has been performed at HERE Arts Center, Dixon Place, and the Triad Theater. Her plays have been published by Eddy Theatre Company, PerformerStuff, Narcissists Anthology, New World Theatre’s “Solitary Voice: A Collection of Epic Monologues,” and were finalists in Manhattan Repertory’s Short Play Festival, NYNW Theatre Fest, #MeTooTheatreWomen, "Women in the Age of Trump," and Tennessee Williams’s New Orleans Literary Festival, and performed across the country by students for immigration festivals, academic projects, and Sexual Assault Prevention Month. She is founder of "LoveMyDetour," a campaign creating seminars, workshops, curriculum, books, music, and performances designed to entertain, educate, and engage on the intersection of arts and social justice, is part of the National Initiative for Arts and Health in the Military. Her memoir, My Beautiful Detour: An Unthinkable Journey from Gutless to Grateful. was awarded 2nd Place Winner of Best Memoir/Autobiography for the 2019 CT Press Awards, and she is currently recording the audiobook. She is in the process of creating a performance combining puppetry, Butoh, and site-specific theatre on environmental justice, ecofeminism, and sacred feminine mytholofgy to encourage women to claim their role in preserving our planet and has launched a series of workshops, Step Into Joy, inspiring people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities to claim a walking practice that inspires connection with their environment and respect for various ecosystems. She made her solo debut with the New York Philharmonic in Geffen Hall at Lincoln Center under the baton of Case Scaglione; she also appeared in the Emmy-nominated production of Carousel, televised on PBS’s “Live at Lincoln Center.” In recent years, she has sung numerous times at Carnegie Hall (Der Vampyr, The Messiah, Verdi’s Requiem, Elijah), as well as Alice Tully Hall at Lincoln Center (La Farsa Amarosa). Kate made her New York City Center principal debut as Josephine in H.M.S. Pinafore, a role she has taken to Wolf Trap Opera and the Colorado Symphony, and continues to tour nationally and internationally with the New York Gilbert and Sullivan Players. She recently appeared as Princess Ida in Princess Ida at the New York Skirball Center for the Performing Arts, and Off-Broadway at the Saint George Theatre in the world premiere of Trains the musical, as well as the Musical Guest for 24 Hour Plays at the Atlantic Theater Company.Equally at home in jazz music, Kate has performed in cabaret at the Metropolitan Room and (le) poisson rouge in New York, and at the Hotel Café in Los Angeles. She has recorded as a soloist for numerous film scores with music by Arturo Cardelús, David Stone Hamilton, and others; her voice was recently featured in the film “Pecado Original,” winning awards at both the Austin Film Festival and the Milan International Film Festival. Kate was also the soprano soloist for Iranian singer and setar player Hafez Nazeri’s Grammy-nominated SONY Worldwide release of “Untold” with the Rumi Symphony. Kate Bass is a composer and singer-songwriter; her debut album, “Maya,” was released in August 2012, and her first single aired on British radio in early September 2013. She released her new EP, “More”, in February 2016 and her May 2017 crowd-funded album, “Songs of the Open Road,” debuted Off-Broadway at the Triad Theater in New York City. She has performed her music live to sold out crowds across America, and has been hailed by the press as “easy to love,” “infectious,” and “one of the best vocalists on the scene today.” Kate maintains a full private voice studio based out of Pasadena, California; as well as coaching many young up-and-coming singer-songwriters and musical theater performers, she has taught as a Teaching Artist in Residence for the Metropolitan Opera Guild in New York City. She teaches master classes and workshops on voice, songwriting, and musical theater all over the world, from Classical Singer Conventions throughout the country to programs in Lebanon and Africa. She currently teaches on vocal faculty at Pepperdine University in Malibu, California. www.katebassmusic.com@katebassmusicLike this episode? Share it! On this episode of Baring It All with Call Me Adam, on the Broadway Podcast Network, I am recording at The Houdini Museum in NYC with the creative team of Nice T!ts Celebrity Reading: Amy Marcs (Writer/Performer), Peter Michael Marino (Original Direction), and Coco Cohn (Celebrity Reading Director). Amy Marcs' hit solo comedy show about breast cancer, Nice T!ts has been reconstructed into a Celebrity Reading featuring stars from Broadway and Television, performed in a similar styling to The Vagina Monologues & Love Loss and What I Wore. I have been a fan of Amy's show since 2016. Nice T!ts is a poignant and important show about Breast Cancer, survivorship, and strength. While the show focuses on a serious topic, the story is interspersed with lots of humor, humor that has helped Amy get through one of her toughest battles in life. Starting out as a one-woman solo show, Nice T!ts has gone through many transformations including its latest incarnation as a celebrity reading, After two sold-out celebrity readings (its 2019 premiere and February 2020), Nice T!ts: Celebrity Reading, is back again on April 20 at 7pm at The Triad Theater in NYC. Nice T!ts Celebrity Reading will take place at The Triad Theater (158 West 72nd Street) on April 20 at 7pm. Click here for tickets! ***Due to COVID-19 Pandemic the March 30 performance of Nice T!ts Celebrity Reading has been postponed. 10K Dollar Day is LIVE at The Triad Theatre in New York City! INTRO: (00:00) The ladies recorded this episode in front of a live audience in New York City, you can watch the video here. The ladies share the differences of Lulu's single-gal-in-NYC life, and Alison's wife-and-mother life, and the hilarity of their stories elicits a hefty round of applause. Having a live audience is FUN. OBSESSIONS: (4:55) Lulu's discovered she's been wrapping her MacBook power cord incorrectly and is obsessed with sharing this helpful life-hack. Alison almost didn't admit to her obsession - a trashy, British reality show called Island of Love (she means Love Island). It sounds like the least British thing EVER. WISHLIST: (10:04) Alison wishes for an invention that instantly dries your hair. Lulu's wishlist item is a bedding set that folds up to microscopic proportions. LULU’S 10K DAY - MONTE CARLO, MONACO: (14:10) Lulu stays at the Hotel de Paris. She takes in The Cars Collection of H.S.H. the Prince of Monaco. Lunch is at U Cavagnetu. Lulu recreates a moment from To Catch A Thief with a Hermés Scarf and a Porsche 550. She tried the tasting menu at Le Louis XV. To give off some serious James Bond in Monte Carlo vibes, Lulu buys a feather trimmed tuxedo blazer. On to the hotel casino, where she has some martinis (say it with us, "shaken not stirred"), and then heads to the Baccarat table where she plays until she's reached her 10k budget. ALISON’S 10K DAY - WILMINGTON, DELAWARE: (30:20) So, The Inn at Montchanin Village has room for 34 people, and Alison's made a list of the 34 people she is inviting to come with her for the day, and she books the whole place. Brunch for everyone at Krazy Kats. Alison's heads to the village's spa for a Kindred Body Treatment. Next is a tasting tour at Chaddsford Winery. Alison heads to Sweet Somethings to buy desserts for a garden party she's throwing at the village for everyone. There's even going to be a DJ. Hard to believe that she got to 10k in Delaware but it's true.CHARITIES: (48:50)Princess Charlene of Monaco FoundationFaithful FriendsFOLLOW US: FacebookInstagramYoutubeTwitterWebsiteApple PodcastsGoogle PodcastsSpotifyStitcherSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/10KDollarDay/)
