Whitney Webb joins Jimmy to explain her deep skepticism of Joe Kent, the former CIA counterterrorism official who resigned over the Iran war, warning that he may be part of a long-game psy-op to create a "domestic terrorist" profile that the national security state can later target. She connects this sentiment to the first Trump administration's DHS hearings where officials explicitly defined anti-Semitic right-leaning populists as the emerging domestic terror threat—a classification that could now be triggered by conflating criticism of Israel with antisemitism. Webb argues that the same infrastructure built for the War on Terror abroad is now being turned inward, and that figures like Kent may be engineered to "signal boost" anti-Zionist sentiment to create a category of Americans the government can later round up as subversives. She urges critical thinking and vigilance, noting that the "MAGA civil war" may be deliberately orchestrated to provide pretext for domestic surveillance expansion. Plus segments on the GOP faithful at CPAC cheering on Donald Trump's impeachment and Ben Shapiro changing his tune on how long the Iran war is likely to last. Also featuring Misty Winston, Stef Zamorano and Mike MacRae. Plus a phone call from Vince Vaughn!

Andy Farnsworth joins KSL-TV to help audiences decipher #WhatToWatch for the weekend of March 27, 2026. The big movie of this week, “They Will Kill You,” is incredibly similar to one of last week's movies, “Ready or Not 2: Here I Come.” Similar plot, similar villains, similar (anti)heroines. But this one is a bit funnier with more of a video game vibe throughout. For streaming viewers, there is an intriguing and clever sci-fi action movie on Hulu/Disney called “Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice,” starring Vince Vaughn, James Marsden and Eiza Gonzalez and an especially funny Jimmy Tatro in the ensemble. Also streaming, Marvel fans (the older ones anyway) will enjoy the return of Charlie Cox in season 2 of “Daredevil: Born Again.” Stakes are high, similarities to real world situations are uncanny (even though this is based on a comic book storyline from 10 years ago). The brains behind Fan Effect are connoisseurs of categories surpassing nerdy, with a goal to publish a weekly "What to Watch” (taken from KSL-TV's Friday segment) and “What to Do” on the weekend minisodes, and two deep-dives episodes a month on shows, creative works, artists, local events, and other fandom topics. Based in the beautiful Beehive State, Fan Effect celebrates Utah's unique fan culture as it has been declared The Nerdiest State in America by TIME, and is hosted by KSL Movie Show's Andy Farnsworth and Deseret News / KSL Podcasts' KellieAnn Halvorsen. The Ides of ReMarch are upon us! And now that we have discussed both the good and the bad kinds of horror remakes, it's time to delve into the inexplicable: the 1998 “replica” of PSYCHO!! Here to help us make sense of the nonsensical is stand-up comedian and horror lover Kristen Cills!! We're asking the big questions, like why did Gus Van Sant blow his post-Good Will Hunting blank check on this project? Is Psycho a better movie when you can almost see Viggo Mortensen's pubes? Why is half the cast dressed like it's 1960, and the rest look like they walked off of a Blur music video? What is the Small Soldiers Behind-The-Scenes Experience? With the pantheon of interesting actors making films at the time, why was Vince Vaughn the first choice for Norman Bates? What does work about this film, and why?! All this, plus Universal's cursed (and blessed) 1998, watching Psycho as you make Psycho, losing to A Big's Life, the buried secrets on Patrick's ancient DVD, wet flapping meat sounds, and a soon-to-be-classic version of Choose Your Own Deathventure!! Season 8 heads into early-2000s chaos as Dangerous Dave revisits the cult comedy Old School, a film that perfectly captured the outrageous, quote-heavy comedy era of the early 2000s. With its mix of wild fraternity antics and strangely heartfelt moments about growing older, the movie became one of the defining comedies of its generation. We rewind to 2003 in What Happened Way Back When, exploring the cultural backdrop surrounding the film — from indie music breakthroughs and overlooked movies to television shows that helped shape the early-internet entertainment era. Retro Headlines from both the UK and the US reveal how technology, reality TV, gaming, and DVD culture were rapidly changing how people consumed entertainment. In the Dangerous Deep Dive, Dave explores the full story behind Old School — from its development and director Todd Phillips' vision to the unforgettable performances of Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Ferrell as the legendary Frank “The Tank.” The episode includes a detailed plot breakdown, the creation of the film's most iconic moments, and why audiences embraced its rebellious, party-fueled humour. Dave also looks at how the movie helped kick-start the “Frat Pack” comedy era and why fans still quote it two decades later.Elsewhere in the episode:
Jonny survives a monsoon, a drunk Brit, and influencer hell at ModaMiami, and then James Marsden stops by to talk playing the President, driving McLarens on screen, and why his 911 finally got a new windshield. ______________________________________________
