Welcome all to a new year and a new season of Fratello Talks, your favorite watch podcast in the whole wide world. What should we expect from the world of watches in 2025? Nacho, RJ, and Lex share their predictions on today's show. Some of these are wishful thinking, but others are educated guesses based on anniversaries, notable dates, and insider secrets we swore blood oaths not to break. Okay, maybe nothing that secret will be revealed. But it's still worth tuning in because some of these predictions may just end up coming true (or be hilariously wrong). Being aware of some of the anniversaries taking place, which may be celebrated with corresponding releases, will certainly give us an idea of what to expect!
Tim and Armand look forward to the new year by sharing their New Year's resolutions for themselves and the luxury watch industry. From personal goals to predictions for the future of timepieces, this conversation is filled with insights and aspirations for 2025. Tune in to hear what's next for Tim, Armand, and the ever-evolving world of luxury watches. What are your 2025 resolutions? Let us know in the comments! On this episode we speak to James about his grails, watches with significance in his collection, getting cancelled on Reddit and why he was lucky to get introduced to watches not through Rolex or AP.
“People are so quick to label somebody antisocial or narcissistic. Just because you disagree with someone, or they lied to you, or they treated you really poorly, or they were manipulative, doesn't mean they have narcissistic personality disorder. But they can certainly have traits,” says Dr. Lina Haji, a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist and licensed mental health counselor. Dr. Haji joins Dr. Z in this episode to talk about the nuances of personality disorders, particularly the differences between narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder. How can one tell the difference between a narcissist and someone who is antisocial? And why does it matter? They explore the overlap—like lack of empathy and accountability—while also making it clear that while not all narcissists engage in criminal behavior, even though their actions can still be deeply harmful. This episode also touches on one of the most frustrating issues for both professionals and clients: misdiagnosis. Dr. Haji explains why narcissistic personality disorder is so often mistaken for bipolar disorder, and how that mix-up can lead to the wrong treatment. Are mood swings the same as bipolar disorder? Dr. Haji points out that no, they're not, and that recognizing the differences is key to addressing unhealthy patterns of behavior. Listeners will gain a clearer understanding of these complex personality disorders. More importantly, they'll feel empowered to recognize toxic behavior, regardless of formal diagnosis. This episode is a must-listen for anyone looking to make sense of the personality dynamics in their relationships and take control of their own emotional well-being. Quotes “‘Antisocial' really refers to somebody who goes against the grain, who goes against social norms. And to put it even more clearly, basically someone who has criminal tendencies, if you will.” (05:42 | Dr. Lina Haji) “For somebody to meet criteria for antisocial personality disorder, they do have to meet criteria for conduct disorder, which is essentially antisocial personality disorder in kids and adolescents.” (11:52 | Dr. Lina Haji) “People are so quick to label somebody antisocial or narcissistic… Just because you disagree with someone, or they lied to you, or they treated you really poorly, or they were manipulative, doesn't mean they have narcissistic personality disorder. But they can certainly have traits.” (13:00 | Dr. Lina Haji) “Narcissistic personality disorder and antisocial personality disorder, even psychopathy, is on a continuum. So somebody can be the world's biggest a-hole and still not meet criteria for any of those personality disorders.” (13:12 | Dr. Lina Haji) “People with psychopathy, people with narcissistic personality disorder, people with antisocial personality disorder, if you look at their behaviors, they're typically very self-serving, which tells me they know exactly what they're doing because it's a means to an end… I believe people with those personality disorders know exactly what they're doing and just don't care.” (28:06 | Dr. Lina Haji) Links Connect with Dr. Lina Haji: www.risepsychological.com https://www.instagram.com/rise_psychological_services/ Watch World's Most Evil Prisoners: https://www.amazon.com/gp/video/detail/0GIXJX2M9XISMHB7LR9DI9STS9/ref=share_ios_season Connect with Dr. Z: https://www.drjaimezuckerman.com/ https://www.zgrouptherapy.com/ https://www.instagram.com/dr.z_psychologist/ https://www.tiktok.com/@dr.z_psychologist Shop my new Mindfully Messy hoodie here: http://www.drjaimezuckerman.com/apparel Get my FREE breathing exercise here: http://www.drjaimezuckerman.com/newsletter Check out my on-demand workshops here: http://www.drjaimezuckerman.com/workshops Order my workbooks! http://www.drjaimezuckerman.com/books Podcast production and show notes provided by HiveCast.fm

Today's guest is the most optimistic guy I know in watches, Mr. Justin Hast. He's a journalist, consultant, and creative in many facets of the watch industry and he's got the collection to prove it. His passion has led him down many paths, ultimately carving out a niche for himself as a trusted source, not only from collectors, but from some of the biggest brands in the industry. He cherishes not only the emotions and experiences that watches bring, but also the memories and relationships that have come to fruition as a result of it. If his work as a creative in the industry wasn't enough, he even publishes a yearly book called The Watch Annual which is a compendium of each year's best watches. At the end of the day, there's not many guys like Justin who mix work and passion like he does, and it shows. So without further adieu, my friend Justin Hast, for Collectors Gene Radio.

Today I'm chatting with Malaika Crawford, style editor at Hodinkee. Our chat is a bit different than the usual you're used to here, as I really wanted to get Malaika's thoughts on styling, diversification, and what all of this means for us collectors. After moving to New York in 2014, Malaika started working for Mel Ottenberg, you know, Rhianna's stylist. Getting an early exposure to all things luxury has propelled the trajectory of her career and here we are. But all of this had to start somewhere, and it actually began with the collector she looks up to the most. Malaika's got a pulse on all the latest trends, and if anyone has an eye for what looks intriguing, it's her. So here it is, Malaika Crawford, for Collectors Gene Radio.Malaika's Storie's - https://www.hodinkee.com/pages/masthead/552

In New Hampshire, Democrats are struggling to build crowds. Meanwhile, President Trump, who is uncontested in the primary and has no reason to campaign there, visited earlier this week and drew crowds in the tens of thousands. [17:50] Bible Study: Watch and Pray (30 minutes) We’re not even two months in the new year and already dozens of events have occurred that are prophetically significant! This week we are joined by the team behind brilliant indie film Lancaster Skies. Giles Alderson (The Dare, World of Darkness) sits down with director Callum Burn, Producer Andy Burn, Cinematographer Sam Parsons and actor Kris Saddler to chat how they made their World War II epic We talk about their backgrounds, how they became filmmakers and their journey to Lancaster Skies We chat how what it is like working with your father and son on indie films. How Callum, Andy and Sam wrote the script together We ask Andy what makes a good producer and why they shot Lancaster skies in 5 blocks and all for only £80k. How they built miniatures and the the inside of a spitfire to create the look they wanted . How when they had problems the answers were always 'make it simple'. And if you build your own sets and make your own world you have so much more control and can save money. We talk to Sam about having very little money for lights. And how to use the budget in the best way you can to light the scene. We chat how they raised the investment money to make the film through any which way they could. How the budget limited then but also made them think out of the box. How it is important that all filmmakers have to step up to be a film business and make the film to sell and how you can actually make money . We chat with Kris about his acting thoughts and how It took four years to make the film and over that time they built up the fan base on social media and held open days to bring people into and believing in the project And we find out that Callum has to redo all the sound with ADR and did the sound Foley in his bedroom which as you can imagine took forever Lancaster Skies trailer here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=4&v=VmMqZdO4ugw WATCH full movie of Lancaster Skies here https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/video/detail/B07R878Y3S/ Follow the team on twitter @LancasterSkies here: http://www.twitter.com/lancasterskies LINKS MAKE YOUR FILM returns with hosts Giles Alderson and Dom Lenoir for a fourth installment after three incredible past events. Get tickets for the latest MAKE YOUR FILM event on July 9th here: bit.ly/2Zjma3s This week Giles Alderson (The Dare, World of Darkness) is joined by screenwriter and director Stephanie McBain who talks about her journey into making her debut feature Roads, Trees and Honey Bees and how she raised the money on credit and worked two jobs while doing it. We chat with the inspiring Stephanie about how she started off acting and moved to directing after switching courses and having to prep but not make a short as part of her course but after a chance conversation how her friend said she would produce it for her and she went out and actually made it. We chat about how she writes about what she knows and her process behind it and how that led on to wanting to make her debut feature without waiting for something to happen. So she sacrificed nights out and worked two jobs while earning enough money to get it made and how it was so hard to write it after coming home from work We talk casting and what should an actor do in a casting and why you might get cast or not . How the first day on set was embarrassing. How an actor pulled out the day before and only filmed 5/8ths of a page on that first day We talk how having a mentor is so important in the film business and how she got distribution for the film and got it out for people to see. And how she has made her second feature A Kiss on Candy Kane Lane on two weeks notice and even worked her job during the filming the schedule. Jim Cummings joins Giles Alderson (The Dare) and Christian James (Fanged Up) to talk about his debut feature film Thunder Road. Jim wrote, directed and starred in the film which was developed from his short film of the same name which won the grand Jury prize in Sundance. He tells us about his journey from making shorts as a producer to doing it yourself, where the idea for Thunder Road came from and how he ended up the lead in his own short and subsequent feature film. Thunder Road is a hilarious tragi-comedy which follows the life of Jim, a police officer on the verge of a mental breakdown following the death of his mother and the breakdown of his marriage. Thunder Road is released i the UK on Friday 31st May Having self-funded the film via Kickstarter, it's a testament to independent film-making and is a real passion project for Jim. The film also has lots of interesting angles to explore such as how it has had the seal of approval from Bruce Springsteen whose song it is named after, how it deals with topical mental health including the stigma around men being able to show emotion and it's comment on the current state of the American police force.
