It's the final XAR Podcast of 2024 and of Season 10! JR salutes Mika's Girl Scout Troop that is working on a journey related to media before diving in with Nef to topics including the "golden" kanji (or Japanese character) of the year, Japanese New Year's traditions and random foods, Yakuza Zero, The Game Awards and thoughts on Balatro, and the upcoming Year of the Snake. JR is also reminded that he may need to ask Santa for more computer resources, as evidenced by Nef's "robotic voice" that once again had to be edited out of the final recording. JR and Nef return with another installment of the XAR Podcast! Topics include opinions on the recent Yakuza Zero return streams (and whether or not there's really a connection between the game and Sailor Moon), baseball winter meetings, and the return of Shampoo to the Ranma 1/2 reboot... whom JR, for some reason, calls Spaghetti. The topic then turns to the backlog on everyone's Crunchyroll watch lists. Please note that a portion of the podcast has been edited out due to a temporary recording issue.

Dave is joined by Matt aka Stormageddon for another Producer's Choice episode, focusing on why we love the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series. Ryu Ga Gotoku's long-running crime melodrama series has introduced us to some of our favorite protagonists, side characters and level 100 weirdos through the years, so we wanted to take some time and talk about it. You can find all of Matt's wonderful podcasts ("Fun" and Games, Reignite, Screen Snark) on your favorite podcast app or at their website (https://linktr.ee/dj_stormagedddon). Producer's Choice is a bonus series on Tales from the Backlog, where Patreon supporters at the "Tube Producer" level get to pick an episode topic and come on the show to chat about it. Walt Williams doesn't want his video game to hate him. He just wants to be entertained. Walt Williams is a video game writer who has worked on Star Wars Battlefront, Bioshock, Civilization, Borderlands, Mafia, The Darkness, and Spec Ops: The Line. His book, Significant Zero, explores the hardships and insanity of AAA game development. Here's some stuff we talked about: Our Feelings The Mass Effect 3 ending debacle made Walt question his narrative approach in Spec Ops: The Line. Kirby All Star Allies is blowing Walt's daughter's mind. The Quarry is scratching a very specific horror movie itch Walt hasn't scratched since childhood. Start at Yakuza Zero if you want to punch people in the face to make them better people. The Last of Us: Part One's ending resonated quite a bit with Walt Depending on who you ask, Walt was kind of a monster in The Walking Dead Season One. Video Game Feelings is an Area Code Audio production. Hosted and produced by Richard Clark. Associate produced by Nettie Smith. Additional help from Ashley Whitehurst and Matthew Linder.
Jeff and Christian welcome Dan Caeey from Nerdist back to the show to discuss all of the coolest games from Gamescom Opening Night Live, including Dead Island 2, Gotham Knights, Hogwarts Legacy, The Lies of P, Atlas Fallen, and Wyrdsong. Dlaczego zachwyca nas podejście twórców do substories, czyli misji i wątków pobocznych? What's up folks and welcome to a new episode of The HelloGhostly Podcast. Today's a pretty normal run of the mill episode but the next few are gonna be focused on some upcoming events. The next episode will be solely focused on the recent Ubisoft Forward event followed by another episode on Microsoft's Xbox Studio Game Showcase Event on July 23rd. Anyway's in today's episode we discuss what I've been playing which includes some pretty interesting stories from the wonderful wacky world of Yakuza Zero and Apex Legends. Other than that we also discuss all the following gaming news: Hangar 13 delays Mafia: Definitive Edition Persona 5 Royal and Scramble surpassed sales expectations, says Atlus Watch Dogs Legion leaked screenshots hint at a release date WWE 2K Battlegrounds: Release Date and Microsoft is possibly interested in buying Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment Thank you as always for listening to the show and we'll back again in a couple of days to discuss the Ubisoft Forward event but until then... Ghostly Out!
Four panelists discuss the story conclusions and overall feelings on Yakuza 0, an open-world action RPG set in 1988 Japan.
An RPGFan panel of new and veteran players alike discuss everything Yakuza 0 has to offer. Part 1 of 2.
Emails bitte an podcast@bytesized.de
