Acts of the Apostles 7: 51 - 8: 1a; Rs psalm 31: 3cd-4.6ab.7b.8a.17.21ab; John 6: 30-35.ACCEPT ME, O LORD The title for our meditation today is:Accept Me, O Lord. There was a nun who gave a speech at the moment of herperpetual profession in the religious life. She began and ended her briefremarks with these following words: “Accept Me, O Lord”. The content of herspeech was about words of gratitude and request of prayers from all familiesand guests present. All were somewhat surprised because the speech lasted onlyabout two minutes. When people asked about the meaning ofthe phrase: “Accept Me, O Lord”, the nun replied that her whole life isdedicated to God and the Church. From the time of the perpetual profession, shehas promised to offer herself totally as a person consecrated. That means allthings related to work, service, disappointment, suffering, challenges andvarious other things are included in her personality, her whole being areligious nun. The nun's explanation gives us a lightto the reflection on our readings today. St. Stephen as the first martyr in theChurch, put his whole being a disciple of Jesus to be a special offering toGod. He was clever, talented, hardworking, and a defender of the faith. But hedid not make himself a powerful person with position, good works, achievements,and fame. He offered his entire life and that was all for his Master JesusChrist in whom he found rest and salvation of his soul. The Jews who were after praise andgood name insisted Jesus to know about his actual work and profession, then inresponding them he revealed his true identity with this expression: "I amthe bread of life". This bread is actually the food that the Jews and all peoplewho hope for salvation were looking for. Jesus wanted them not to bother aboutthe other things, but just recognized Him, trusted Him and stayed with Him.Here God wants to teach us that our views and treatments to one another in thisworld must be full and sincere, namely to love a person like God himself loves. All that is attached in every personsuch as good name, job, relationship, position, achievement, success and so onin the positive aspect; and failure, pain, loss, emptiness, loneliness, despairand so on in the negative aspects, will eventually terminate in this world whenwe die. What we carry on next to meet God is ourselves as the believers. Allthat are necessary to oulseves, and they help us to carry out the duties andworks according to each one's respective calling. So the good news for us today is thatwe must see what is beautiful and precious in oneself and each of ourneighbours as a whole human person as the gift of God to us. Let's pray. In the name of theFather ... O good Lord, help us to always be in the way of Your Son JesusChrist, our Lord and Savior. Hail Mary full of grace. In the name of the Father...

Fear God not man! First, we need understand thatGod created us as emotional creatures which is an aspect of being created inthe image of God. God has emotions! One of the most powerful and motivatingemotions we have is fear. There is a good benefit about fear, and there is abad aspect about fear. The good thing about fear is that it warns us of impendingdanger so we can prepare for it. I should fear getting to close to the edge ofthe cliff, getting in deep water if I can't swim, jumping out of a plane with afaulty parachute, or someone threatening to kill me with a gun. I get verymotivated to response in a proper way. But there is a fear that is not good.That is why the phrase, “Do not fear” or “do not be afraid” appears several hundredtimes in the Bible. There is a fear that paralyzes us or keeps us from doingthe right thing. There is a fear that indicates that we are not trusting Godfor His presence, protection, or His provision. In this passage in Luke 12, it first appears that the Lordmight be teaching us and addressing fear as one of the basic causes of hypocrisy.You might notice that Jesus mentioned "fear" five times in theseverses. When we are afraid of what others may think or say about us, then wetry to impress them in order to gain their approval. If necessary, we will even lie to accomplish our purposes,and this is hypocrisy. We often get caught up in the moment and follow a crowdto do evil, so we don't get ridiculed for being different or being a religiousnut. We also might fear what the crowd or our enemies could do tous physically, to our body, if we don't compromise our faith and say what theywant to hear or do what they are demanding. It is very possible that this iswhat the Lord is referring to in these verses. For sure the Pharisees weremotivated to be hypocrites because they were more concerned about theirreputation rather than their character, what people thought about them ratherthan what God knew about them. If we are not careful, we easily fall into thesame trap. A good verse to remember when we face this temptation is Proverbs29:25: “The fear of man brings a snare, but whoever trusts in the LORD shallbe safe.” The remedy for hypocrisy is to forget about what people maysay or do and fear God alone. The fear of God is the fear that conquers allother fears, for the person who truly fears God need fear nothing else. Allthat men can do is kill the body, but God can condemn the soul! Since He is thefinal Judge, and He judges for eternity, it is logical that we put the fear ofGod ahead of everything else. We also need to remember that the body is only temporary,but the soul is eternal. And that eternity is more important than time. In verses 6-7, Jesus also gives us the answer to what mightbe our greatest fear, and that is, that God really doesn't care about us. Jesusassures us God's amazing love and care. “Are not five sparrows sold for twocopper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God (v. 6). Godsees a sparrow fall from the sky and attends it in its hour of death. Mosestells us that God actually counts how many eggs a bird has in its nest (Deut.22:6-7). Coming closer to home, God “numbers the hairs on our head”. Goddoes not merely count them; He numbers them. The Greek word for “number” isarithmeo (from whence comes our word arithmetic). The word means that God notonly counts our hairs (a virtually impossible task) but He also labels them.  Think of it! God actually knows each separate individualhair on our head as separate and distinct from every other hair. That's ourGod! If He is that concerned about us, we must trust Him even when persecution orthe temptation to compromise comes. We have a God who loves us with aneverlasting love.  Jesus by His own life, death and resurrection teaches usthat we can always trust God  God bless!

OK, well, I'll try. I'll. I'll go with minehere. A memorable event in my life was when my daughter was born. It happenedin 2008.00:04:42JackAnd September of 2008, I won't give away all the informationwith the exact date.00:04:49JackUM.00:04:51JackIt happened here.00:04:52JackIn South Korea, and it was at a a special uh Women'sHospital in South Korea, where my wife, instead of of giving birth naturally,she had a C-section and so.00:05:09JackSo that's a a surgery. So I was not allowed to be in theroom. I know sometimes the husbands can be in the operating room for aC-section, but in this case they asked me to just wait outside. So it felt likea.00:05:30JackLike a long time ago, when fathers had to wait outside and Iwas really stressed.00:05:38JackI was just hanging out with my wife's brother, just waitingand waiting and waiting and finally the nurse came out and she said my wife wasfine and my wife was just sleeping cause she was recovering from the surgeryand they took me to the baby room.00:06:00JackAnd I got to see my daughter through the glass. And that wasthe first time that I that I ever saw her.00:06:09JackAnd I'll never forget that moment. Because you know, there'sa bunch of babies in there. But then I could see my.00:06:15JackMy little baby.00:06:17JackWho? You know, newborns look like aliens. You know whenthey're first born, they're just all eyes and they they're not. They don't havethe chubby, the baby fat when they're first born. And so she just looked like atiny little bug or something, you know, with these these little eyes and so.00:06:37JackYeah, that was the absolutely most memorable moment in mylife, and I don't think anything will ever, really.00:06:46JackOver overtake that on my list.00:06:51JackSo there you go.00:06:52JackWow, Jack, that was a really special.00:06:55JackOne to share.00:06:56JackYeah. No, it's it's such a yeah. It's it's a life changing,you know, I mean you, you know that nothing will ever be the same after afterthat and.00:07:06JackYeah, and and now it's already the time has already passedby. She's already gone at school and and studying in in America. So it just inthe snap of a finger it went from that to basically she's she's on her own. So.00:07:23JackShe's almost an adult now. Just very yeah.00:07:25JackI know, yeah.00:07:28JackAnd it's crazy because even if she is an adult, you neverstop being a parent, I guess.00:07:33JackNo, no, no, no.00:07:35JackIt's going to be a little kid and I'm still a a child in my,you know, parents eyes and they're in their mid 70s and I'm I'm almost 50 andthey still worry about me and, you know, want me to be doing well.00:07:48JackSo I think that's a a universal thing. The parents willnever stop worrying about their children, no matter how old they get listenersout there. We had the pleasure of interviewing Aria Brooks over Zoom video.A successful actress, Aria can currently be seen with a large role in the hit Disney+ series, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series, alongside Joshua Bassett and Olivia Rodrigo. Reyes started modeling at the age of eight, and attended The Professional Performing Arts School, where she focused on musical theatre. In 1992, she appeared in Mariah Carey's music video Make It Happen. In 1994, Reyes became one of the original cast members of the Nickelodeon sketch comedy show All That.[1]After All That, Reyes was then cast in the NBC Saturday morning sitcom One World. She has also made guest appearances on HBO's Six Feet Under, Lifetime's Strong Medicine, PBS' The American Family, NYPD Blue, and Boston Public.Reyes also provided the voice of LaCienega Boulevardez in the Disney Channel animated series The Proud Family from 2001–2005.[1]Reyes also worked as a DJ for Playboy Radio on Sirius Satellite Radio and XM Satellite Radio (Channel 99) and as a host for PlayboyU online and on air shows.

Jessica Gondek exhibited drawings in the Morrissey Gallery in the fall of 2017. Her drawings consider the relationship between human beings and machines. In the complex world Gondek sets before her viewers, machines are not simply friend or foe, but tools contributing to the quality of human life while at the same time challenging and even threatening human beings' central position in the universe. The black police union in St. Louis is calling for the conviction of a former white police officer on trial for first-degree murder in the shooting of an unarmed black man. Anthony Lamar Smith was fatally shot in December 2011 by Jason Stockley following a police chase in a stemming from a suspected drug deal. Prosecutors say Stockley shot Smith five times and then planted a 38-caliber revolver in Smith's car. Only Stockley's DNA and not Smith's was found on the gun.
