Bill Burr has been running his mouth again. From Saudi Arabia to Elon Musk to Tim Dillon, he's got opinions, and he's saying them loudly. The 5-year-old kid that was not kidnapped by ICE is back in the news. Apparently, if you're a child, the Constitution is cancelled. The Great Replacement is getting a Spanish upgrade. Far-left Spanish politician, Irene Montero, says the quiet part out loud. Really loud. NFL legend Marshawn Lynch joins Bill for a conversation that bounces from football philosophy to strip club etiquette. Marshawn shares stories from his playing days, how Ray Lewis read him like a book his rookie year and the mental chess game that separates Hall of Famers from everyone else. They clash over Damar Hamlin's on-field collapse and whether that game should have been canceled: logic vs. emotion, fans vs. optics. From there, the conversation swerves into classic Club Random territory, as they bond over Barbra Streisand fan mail, Ricky Williams as weed's original martyr, locker-room backstabbing, why some franchises stay perpetually broken and what scared Marshawn in Bill's bathroom — let's just say, we're all family now. After a brief look at how BYB is still angry and confused about Adam's appearance from months ago, we check in on the Golden Hour with Chris D'Elia, Erik Griffin, and Brendan Schaub. They make an announcement that I'm super excited about - a potential live show in Austin. But then they prove why that's a terrible idea with their lack of chemistry, prep and humor. Chris D'Elia looks like a genius compared to Erik and Bapa.  Adam Busch is checking in on Bill Burr and his new ability to just go with the flow and not get pissed. Bill's streak is officially OVER!! In his defense, his garage door broke. Lex is a gay furry who joins the show to answer the hard hitting questions about beastiality and furries having sex with minors. Lex is a good egg! Opie still isn't understanding why every podcaster is better than him, even when Ron explains it to him in simple words. Stuttering John has a disastrous awards show. Everything goes wrong in the funniest ways possible. He then brings on Keanu and shows her how he exploited her leaked OF photos. Megan and Annie join us for a round of “Is It Gay?” and the seventh installment of “Opie or Burr.” We finish up with comments, reviews, and voicemails.  Support us, get bonus episodes, and watch live every Saturday and Wednesday: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Come to Hackamania! Sydney Sweeney drops lingerie line, Andy Dick out of rehab, Real World Puck resurfaces, Bill Burr's flailing podcast, more Blake Lively v. Justin Baldoni beef, and Corey Feldman doesn't know the Beatles. Drew declared himself the Mayor of T**ty City. Andy Dick is out of rehab and totally fixed. We dominate the Markleverse. Some people are saying Me-Me-Meghan Markle faked her pregnancies. Minneapolis is a mess. We were just wondering what David ‘Puck' Rainey was up to recently. He's turned up and is a TikTok “Chef” now. We watch Puck's highlights from The Real World: San Francisco. The Beckham family are at it again and we're all sick of it. Harry Styles is still cranking out new music. You'll have to shell out $1,000 to see him live though. Neil Young is not happy with Amazon. He's gifting his music catalog to Greenland. Anyone actually going to watch Melania Trump's movie? Ludacris, Morgan Wade and Carter Faith bailed on Kid Rock's tour. Sydney Sweeney has a new lingerie line out. She's in trouble for a bra-stunt on the Hollywood sign. Bill Burr's podcast is becoming laughable. Not necessarily funny, but laughable. The mainstream media doesn't seem to be all in on the Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni beef like Drew. Taylor Swift feels totally violated by the whole thing. Corey Feldman performed at the NAMM Jam Night and we're here for it. Kanye West has a new album coming out… which is probably why he's so sorry to the Jews. Dirty Dancing is dumping a sequel on us. The family of Neil Diamond impersonator Mike Sardina aren't too happy with Kate Hudson's Oscar nomination. Erik Martindale will NOT treat MAGA patients. Kristen Stewart has had it with the United States. James Cameron is bailing on the US as well. Merch can still be purchased. Click here to see what we have to offer for a limited time. Bill Maher sits down with filmmaker Dan Farah to discuss his documentary "Age of Disclosure" about UFOs (sorry, UAPs!) and government cover-ups. Dan reveals what high-level intelligence officials told him on camera about crash retrievals and non-human beings. They debate everything from ocean-dwelling alien crafts to Steven Spielberg's prophetic filmmaking, why Mars is a terrible vacation spot, and whether getting probed is really as common as '90s pop culture suggested. Bill weighs in on whether Trump could be the one to announce “we are not alone” (with some very real concerns about optics), while also battling a stubborn Zippo lighter that may or may not need alien intervention. Then we get another glimpse in Bill and Nia's relationship from 2018. Tons of passive aggressive and outright aggressive behavior.  There are a number of candidates for cringe of the week including the Morning Mashup's Instagram post, a debate between Ana Kasparian and Pearl Davis, Brendan Schaub explaining he could have been a rocket scientist, and Rob Saul smashing his television to the floor during his big return to streaming. Opie bailed on Ron's standup show that he promised he'd go to and Ron lashes out because he's very hurt. Simon from the Worst Ever Podcast joins us to play Robert Kelly's retelling of his heroic rescue of a young girl who was drowning in the ocean and Big Jay Oakerson's attempts to make it entertaining. Craft, Bombs, And Building A Comedy Career W/Charlie Cantrell

Send us a textA high school writer with jokes that didn't fit the rubric found a mic, a room, and a path. Charlie Cantrell joins us to pull back the curtain on how a careful craftsman became a working New York comic—without losing the nerve to bomb, pivot, and grow. We talk about the early days at the venue on 35th Street, where five-dollar Thursdays and honest tags turned rough ideas into real sets. From there, Charlie walks us through Hampton Roads to Manhattan, why comics often commit to a few rooms instead of chasing every stage, and how the right environment accelerates timing, cadence, and confidence. The craft talk goes deep. Charlie once timed every joke and kept binders with a table of contents; now he mixes that structure with improv to work premises live and find the laugh in the moment. We compare “good laughs” that survive weekends to “bad laughs” that only pop in smoky bar chaos, and we trade war stories about hecklers, empty Sundays during football season, and the weird humility of having your dad drive you to a hostile open mic. It's the unglamorous part of comedy that builds a resilient voice: data from failure, trust earned onstage, and a thicker skin for the next rep.We also explore influence and evolution. Conan O'Brien's silly-smart elasticity, Gary Shandling's authentic introspection, Chris Rock's sharp angles, and Bill Burr's shifting POV inform how Charlie structures bits and paces stories. That leads to today's big question for working comics: when do you burn an hour? We dig into specials, 30-minute formats, and the strategy of building a second hour before releasing the first. Along the way, Charlie shares what acting and improv added to his toolbox—listening, presence, and the freedom to stop chasing a laugh every ten seconds. If you're chasing stand-up, curious about the New York scene, or just love hearing how jokes become sets that actually work, this one's for you. Hit play, then tell us your favorite comedy special and why it still holds up. Subscribe, share with a comic friend, and leave a review so more folks can find the show.Support the show

Bill Maher sits down with Dana Carvey and David Spade – together – for what feels less like an interview and more like eavesdropping on two flies on the wall… plus Bill. The longtime friends riff on Saturday Night Live war stories, the brutal math of stand-up (bombs, hecklers, benefit shows), and the slightly unhinged psychology of chasing laughs for a living. The conversation zigzags through classic films, old Hollywood, celebrity politics, and the strange new podcast economy. Funny, profane, nostalgic, and sneakily thoughtful – it's three comedy legends talking shop after hours, with no one trying to win the room. Support our Advertisers: -Make hiring a little merrier! Nia Hill on How To Rediscover Yourself

Nia Hill is an accomplished actress, entertainment executive, producer, and master of reinvention. Like many of us, her earliest attempts at reinvention happened after she started a new school in LA. She was immediately introduced to a new set of beauty and style expectations that were different from what was allowed at her prim and mandatory-uniform Catholic School. Growing up traveling between parents and cities, Los Angeles and Atlanta, provided her with the foundation to assess and adapt to new surroundings quickly. While her mother was stricter in how she allowed Nia to self-express, her father, a well-known comedy agent, was more lenient. Her early exposure to the entertainment business, coupled with music video inspiration on BET, Nia quickly carved out her own path personally and professionally.During our conversation, Nia shared that while she studied acting in college, her father dissuaded her from pursuing a career in acting. The Harlem Renaissance inspired her to move to New York during the early 2000s. After interning at the famous Apollo Theater, she embarked on a career as an executive and landed roles at Comedy Central, The Chappelle Show, and even MTV. Despite a successful career and blossoming relationship with her now-husband, Bill Burr, she was unfulfilled. She transitioned to a full-time stay-at-home mother, but still felt called towards creative work. Nia decided to invest fully in herself and her interests, only to find that she was the career of her dreams. Her current role, as a purveyor of the best in Black fine dining, is created in her image; truly original, funny, and endlessly entertaining. Whitney Cummings has been getting a lot of criticism for purchasing views on her videos since she gets 3 to 4 times as many as Joe Rogan. She was finally forced to address it and her explanation is nonsensical, confusing, and arrogant. She always chooses to talk down to her critics and it always backfires! Adam Busch is checking out Bill Burr's current anger-free streak. Bill has never been so calm and perfect, thanks to meditation and journaling. We look into Bill and Nia's history on podcasts and we see why Bill thinks everything is racism. Stuttering John and Ashley Cummings had a big falling out this week; we document why it happened, what Ashley had to say about it, and why it's all John's fault. Opie tells Ron his boring anecdote about Chevy Chase and then he makes the ICE shooting incident all about him. Megan hosts “Is It Gay?” and we're joined by Annie. Bill Burr is one of the funniest comics working today, but as you'll hear straight from his mouth, his was no overnight success! He talks about how he got his start, his early days doing open mics, the good and bad gigs, and his big break. He and Steve also discuss the parallels between the pro-wrestling and comedy biz - road travel, paying your dues, and working the crowd. And Bill is a huge wrestling fan (thanks to friend, the late, great Patrice O'Neal), and has a couple of his own Hulk Hogan stories to share.See Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

Bill sits down with award-buzzed actor Joel Edgerton for a sharp, funny, and moving conversation that jumps from Hollywood absurdities to deeply personal truths. They dig into Edgerton's career-defining performance in Train Dreams, and why stories about ordinary people, loss, and resilience can hit harder than any superhero spectacle. Edgerton opens up about early struggles and the love that carried him through, while Maher shares a bizarre first “job” as an unqualified bodyguard for a South African diplomat's kids. Along the way, they talk about how Australian actors seem to be quietly running Hollywood—and that most American accents these days were probably learned in Sydney watching Leave It to Beaver. Along the way, he and Bill swap comedy scars – bombing on The Tonight Show, the mystery of timing, and why some jokes are doomed – while touching on Tim's run as TV's ultimate put-upon everyman. Allen also gets personal about 30 years of sobriety, the odd romance between comics and cars, and why private planes are both essential and deeply absurd. Loose, funny, and unexpectedly thoughtful – two veterans dropping the act and just talking. Every friendship has an origin story, and for John Stamos and Bill Maher, it starts with a near-fight in the '90s that somehow took 30 years to resolve. The two clear the air over booze, VIP access, and bruised egos before diving into Don Rickles' fearless comedy and why it wouldn't survive today. Stamos shares a moving story about seeing Sinatra perform with his father, bonds with Maher over MacArthur Park, Jimmy Webb lyrics, and their shared obsession with classic music, and trades wild stories about the Beach Boys, Springsteen, Broadway, and the challenge of staying relevant without losing yourself. We've been covering Bill Burr's podcast since his meltdowns following the backlash from the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Adam Busch and Christian Bladt went to see Bill perform standup comedy last week and Adam had an epiphany. He explains why Bill's podcast is so pedestrian and unfunny. Christian joins us with a notebook full of notes. Lucy Tightbox is in studio and I discuss the previous weekend in Vegas at “Pulperfest.” John DiCaprio was the guy who was picked to organize the event and instead he talked a bunch of shit from his hotel room while keeping all of the money. Ron the Waiter used his special day to dunk on Opie and it's brilliant. Richard Marx and his wife, the very drunk Daisy Fuentes, livestreamed during the pandemic and embarrassed themselves spectacularly. Miss Judy joined Lucy on her show to break down some of the more ridiculous elements of Stuttering John's LOLsuit. Stuttering John has decided once again it's time to run away from the bullies. Megan and Annie join the show for a round of “Is It Gay?” and “To Poke A Dabbler.” We finish up with comments, reviews, and voicemails.  Watch this episode here: https://youtube.com/live/vVhkAI0cWSY More Lucy Tightbox: https://www.youtube.com/onceoverwithcayley Support us, get bonus episodes, and watch live every Saturday and Wednesday: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Learn more about your ad choices. Filmmaker Gus Van Sant joins Bill Maher for a candid conversation that pulls back the curtain on what it really takes to survive in Hollywood. Van Sant opens up about the scrappy, crowdfunded reality behind Dead Man's Wire, studio politics, and why critics may have saved his career. The two dig into his iconic films (Drugstore Cowboy, My Own Private Idaho, To Die For, Psycho) and trace the lineage of comedy from Lenny Bruce to Saturday Night Live – along with the strange psychology of actors and directors on set, including a jaw-dropping story about literally throwing rocks to get a performance. Seinfeld doesn't give AF while Mark and Sam nervously try to get him to say something, anything interesting.  Aaron Imholte from Steel Toe missed the goal by $140 on Tuesday and tried to act like he wasn't upset about it. On Wednesday's show we find out he was very, very upset about it. Bill Burr has life figured out; he even knows how to have fun at Disneyland now. Amazing! Howard Stern announces three more years at SiriusXM. He claims his entire staff didn't know until he said it live on the air. If that's true that's pretty messed up. These are all adults who have financial obligations to their families. Why would Howard want to stress these people out right before the holidays? Opie announces that Thursday is “Ron Day” and that all superchat money will go to Ron the Waiter. We'll see about that. Bill Maher sits down with Oscar-winning director Barry Levinson for a fast and funny masterclass in storytelling. Levinson revisits the Diner years and the “controlled chaos” of getting real performances – why loose, actor-driven rhythm can beat perfect dialogue, and how ensemble films changed the game. From there, it's a hop through Hollywood history: Robert De Niro's work ethic and the behind-the-scenes realities of building Rain Man during a writers strike. Maher and Levinson also go big-picture – why comedy ages faster than music, what's been lost in today's committee-driven studios, and a darkly hilarious debate about AI, jobs, and why machines still can't do human funny. After some dumb Dabbleverse drama about KarmicX and Felicia Gillespie breaking up, we check in on the latest from Bill Burr. It's amazing that as most of his fanbase turns on him and his numbers dwindle, he's discovered the secret of life. Ol' enlightened Billy is now struggling with how to be both happy and funny. Spoiler - he's neither.  On the Fighter and the Kid, Brendan Schaub gets very defensive when his guest, Timmy No Brakes, asks why he gets so much hate. Bryan and Brendan need to get on the same page because they seem to have very different strategies when it comes to handling detractors. Stuttering John is very upset that VTL said he's an alcoholic so he convinces his audience that he doesn't have a drinking problem. We're convinced. Adam was checking in on Opie and his new cohost, another open micer who is way too old to be an open micer. Megan joins us with another round of “Is It Gay?”, Annie is on for the second edition of the Opie or Burr game, and Cardiff leads us in a round of “To Poke A Dabbler.” We finish up with comments, reviews, and voicemails.  Support us, get bonus episodes, and watch live every Saturday and Wednesday: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Watch this episode here: https://youtube.com/live/WubLe-a0ol8  Learn more about your ad choices. Ana Kasparian joins Bill Maher for a wild Club Random ride that swerves from Armenian moms with rolling pins and post-coital crossword puzzles to explosive debates on Israel-Gaza, trans rights, and California chaos. They spar thoughtfully on the AI job apocalypse and crime reforms gone wrong, Ana gets personal about her pandemic marriage, leaving the progressive bubble, and why she chose empathy over endless political rage. They clash hard on Israel-Gaza but never shut each other down– proving you can disagree fiercely and still respect the hell out of each other. Smart, funny, unfiltered, and surprisingly vulnerable. We start the show off watching the latest video of Kevin Brennan proving he's a senile old man who thinks he's always hosting his show. He got pulled over by the police while riding his bicycle! That's not easy to do. We recently watched Chad Zumock livestream from outside of Mersh's house. It turns out Quadfather (Derek) from the BYB Podcast called the police and was trying to get Mersh swatted by pretending they were threatening each others' lives with weapons.  Big news in the copyright lawsuit between H3H3's Ethan Klein and the world's dumbest streamer Kaceytron. She was so certain that he didn't have a case but, oops, she had to settle AND apologize. Bill Burr is trying to get back into old form with his conspiracy theories focused on the real evil in this world - the NERDS! Akaash Singh was back on a new episode of Flagrant after he was getting humiliated by his wife for the past two weeks and they handle the situation about as poorly as they possibly could. Opie is in a terrible mood because it's the holiday season and he's realizing yet again that he can't afford to live in his building. Stuttering John has Judy on his show again and Judy confronts him with some hard truths about John doxing and threatening people. Megan joins the show along with Annie for a round of “Is It Gay?”, the Worst Ever Podcast sends in a new game called Burr or Opie, and Cardiff brings us “To Poke A Dabbler.” After the teaser we read some recent reviews and listen to your voicemails.  Support us, get bonus episodes, and watch live every Saturday and Wednesday: http://bit.ly/watp-patreon https://watp.supercast.tech/ Watch this episode here: https://youtube.com/live/zV9wO3rPoI4  Learn more about your ad choices. Bill Maher kicks back with John Malkovich for a candid conversation that jumps from Death of a Salesman and his new series Bad Monkey to his unexpected love of classical-music collaborations—and why so much theater ends up “a misery.” Malkovich opens up about his Leave-It-to-Beaver childhood, his 82nd Airborne environmentalist father, getting beaten as a kid, and the lingering feeling he'll never quite measure up. Along the way, he and Bill veer into AI, driverless cars, nightmare hotels, and that golden window of being born after antibiotics but before the robots take over, with a detour to a great story about how Con Air came to be, as well as Bill's unabashed love for In the Line of Fire. This year we're thankful for Cardiff calling out Chad Zumock after Chad tried to back out of a scheduled debate with the potato. Bill Burr had a guest on his show, the very successful and funny Ms. Pat, and Bill can't relate to her on any level. I'm really starting to think that Bill is just tanking his show on purpose. Adam Busch shares some of Bill's new stand up material that no one enjoys. Speaking of not enjoying jokes, Tom Myers wrote another monologue with some of the most convoluted set-ups you've ever heard. Opie's mom passed away and he handles it about as poorly as a person could. Stuttering John has Judy, the aspiring lawtuber, on his show and it's amazing!! She has John and the Dabbleverse totally figured out and we see a rare moment where John is confronted with the truth and has to deal with a woman he likes telling him he's bad at podcasting.
