Charlie Sheen joins Bill Maher for an off-the-rails, hilarious, and unexpectedly heartfelt ride through fame, fallout, and second (and third... and fourth) chances. From his stolen Mercedes getting pushed off a cliff to carving Christmas prime rib in jail, Charlie's stories are pure Sheen – wild, funny, and shockingly sincere. The two trade tales about Martin Sheen's legacy, Gary Busey's chaos, UFOs, baseball luck, and Mad Men fandom – and Bill drops a philosophy he learned from Charlie: “When you're ready to leave a restaurant, just put the cash down and go. I call it Sheening it.” Subscribe to the Club Random YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/clubrandompodcast?sub_confirmation=1 Watch episodes ad-free – subscribe to Bill Maher's Substack: https://billmaher.substack.com Subscribe to the podcast for free wherever you listen: https://bit.ly/ClubRandom Support our Advertisers: Go to https://www.radioactivemedia.com or text RANDOM to 511511 Get 50% off your first box plus free breakfast for 1 year at https://www.factormeals.com/random50off Get 25% off your first purchase and free shipping at https://www.wonderballsusa.com and use code RANDOM Buy Club Random Merch: https://clubrandom.com Learn more about your ad choices. Today, I'm joined by two-time Oscar-nominated cinematographer Jeff Cronenweth.Jeff joins me to talk about his work on Tron: Ares, which is now in theaters. He also shot Amazon's Being the Ricardos for director Aaron Sorkin, starring Nicole Kidman and Javier Bardem. Kidman was so impressed with Jeff's work that she later asked him to shoot her now-famous AMC Theatres commercial. We also dive into his long-running collaboration with David Fincher on films like Fight Club, The Social Network, and Gone Girl. Plus, Jeff gives us a glimpse into his latest project — the just-begun follow-up to The Social Network, titled The Social Reckoning. Aaron Sorkin is not only writing but also directing this one, with a stellar cast that includes Jeremy Allen White, Mikey Madison, Jeremy Strong, Betty Gilpin, and Bill Burr. When I first heard about The Social Reckoning, my initial reaction was, “Why on earth would they make that?” But the more I've thought about it, the more I've realized it's an essential story — a vital piece of modern history that deserves to be explored and cemented in the public consciousness.Today's episode of the Following Films Podcast is brought to you by Google Workspace. We start with an update on Aaron Imholte's jail sentence and how he's coping with having to serve eight days straight. He's not sleeping well but it's not because he's dreading the pokey. He has an unbelievable attitude about his situation; it's almost like he's looking forward to it. Vinnie Paulino joins Adam, Chris, and me to get an update on bad boy KarmicX. Because it's episode 666, Producer Chris brings some clips from our favorite metalhead motivational speaker on Metal Mascara. Whitney Cummings took money from the Saudi government and is handling the criticism about as poorly as anyone possibly could. At least Bill Burr isn't calling his detractors racists… yet. For some reason Christian Bladt and Eric Zane showed up on Tom Myers vs. the Rest of the World and treated it like a real show. Wasn't Bladt on the Dennis Miller Show? Opie briefly faked a retirement but this week he's right back to riffing with Ron the Waiter about how much money they don't make on YouTube. After some comparisons between Opie and Stuttering John, we finally strap in for John's reaction to finding out we have the Pro Football Arm Wrestling Championship that originally aired on CBS in 2017. Then we play highlights from the show that John's been bragging about for years. Oof! Bill Maher sits down with Fargo star and Shameless legend William H. Macy for a wildly funny, unfiltered ride through the craft of acting, poker, politics, and the chaos of Hollywood. Macy opens up about his unconventional college years and the creative spark that came from meeting playwright David Mamet, leading to a lifelong obsession with truth in performance. The two swap stories about fame, risk, and the art of staying grounded in an industry built on illusion. And Bill tries rye whiskey – and somehow turns it into a debate about corn. Meghan & Not-a-Prince Harry win another fake award, Bill Burr strains to explain to Conan, Ed Gein the influencer, angry Katie Porter, Criss Angel, Mark Sanchez, a bad sports weekend, menstrual cycle gambling, Presidential libraries, Drew Crime, and the best "day of the week" songs. Dan Dickerson had an oopsie on an open mic after the Detroit Tigers' 15-inning loss to the Seattle Mariners in Game 5 of the ALDS. Everyone supports Dan because we all feel the same. Obituary time: Sister Jean passes away only 2 weeks into retirement. Diane Keaton surprised people by dying.Moody Blues bassist-singer John Lodge expired at 82. Drew was wondering which day of the week has the best songs with that day in the title. Sunday and Tuesday are strong contenders. No one likes Wednesdays. Penn State fires head football coach James Franklin. Michigan embarrassed by USC. There were a lot of Top 25 college football teams that were beat this weekend. Bill Belichick and UNC seem like a disaster despite what he tells Kirk Herbstreit. Rolling Stone dropped a big story on how FanDuel and DraftKings have helped create a bunch of young gaming addicts. The hot new thing to gamble on is the WNBA based on the players menstrual cycles. The Detroit Tigers' season is over. We tried avoiding it, but we break down the Game 5 ALDS loss. Ed Gein Episode 8 is a horrifying laugh riot. Ed was one of the first influencers. Too bad it involved murdering and necrophilia. The John Candy documentary dropped on Amazon Prime. Drew Crime: 20/20 featured the avoidable murder of Denise Amber Lee. Not to be outdone, Dateline covered the murder of gay art dealer Clifford Lambert. Bill Burr is still defending his participation in the Riyadh Comedy Festival in Saudi Arabia. Not-a-prince Harry and Me-Me-Me Meghan Markle win a humanitarian award for some reason. They were very icy towards each other. D4vd transferred his houses to his mother while questions surround his involvement in the death of Celeste Rivas. Katie Perry and Justin Trudeau are getting it on... again. Drew is starting to feel sorry for Joe Biden. Who goes to presidential libraries? Jennifer Aniston is full of it in her new interview with Harper's Bazaar. She's also trying to sound really deep. Criss Angel dumps his "narcissist" wife in a very petty way. Former US Rep and current California gubernatorial candidate Katie Porter has some major anger issues. No one made her more angry than her "idiot" husband. The whole timeline of the Mark Sanchez stabbing is finally being revealed. Season 3 of Funny You Should Mention begins with the “Filth Queen” herself Steph Tolev to explore why gross can be smart, how crowd work goes viral, Bill Burr's boost to her career, and the Canadian comedy grind. Big laughs, sharp ideas, adult themes. We also get into slapstick dummies, family lore, and why Boston brings the best chaos. Come for the filthy stories, stay for the surprisingly thoughtful theories on why certain jokes land, and what that says about us. It's a good time to get back on the regular. We're a little late after a hectic off week. We have a moment to start the show as Sam finds her voice. Who said rooting for your pro team, daughter's team, and college team in a week could make you a mute. We dive into the world of madness that we're living. Taking a strong look into the Bad Bunny scenario that is causing a global meltdown. Then there was the other meltdown of Taylor Swift fans and her recent album release. We have a long dive down the rabbit hole of comedy with Bill Burr and a few others dealing with Riyadh comedy festival. Hopefully everyone is staying safe out there and we'll catch you on the flip side.

Johnny Mac covers Bill Burr's reaction to the controversy surrounding his performance at the Riyadh Comedy Festival. Despite Burr's concerns about media misrepresentation, he clarifies that the audience included 8,000 citizens and diplomats, not just royals. Burr also praises (presumably) comedian Jessica Kirson for her boldness on stage. The episode transitions to other comedy news, including Jo Koy's joke about Taylor Swift at the Golden Globes, Taylor Swift's multiple late-night show appearances, and concerns over diversity on SNL after the departure of its only Black female cast member. Additionally, Fred Armisen releases a new sound effects record, and the burgeoning comedy scene in Austin is highlighted.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/daily-comedy-news-with-johnny-mac--4522158/support.Become a premium subscriber! Diddy sentenced to over 4 years in prison, Detroit Lions & Tigers are rolling, Eli drops by, Mark Sanchez stabbed & arrested, Saudi Arabia comedy backlash, Britney Spears v. Kevin Federline, WDIV fires Hank Winchester, Theo Von's troubles, and a world record fart. Eli Zaret joins us to recap the 4-1 Detroit Lions victory over the Cincinnati Bengals, Mark Sanchez is stabbed & then arrested, Michigan's win over Wisconsin, Penn State sucks, Bill Belichick and UNC suck too, the Detroit Tigers great start in Seattle, WNBA drama and more. We watch an incredible fart. Mr. Methane definitely has longer farts, but we struggle to reach the fartist. We also watch some great fart pranks. The Riyadh Comedy Festival is going down. Comics like Dave Chappelle, Bill Burr and Louis CK are getting major backlash while they justify their participation. Jessica Kirson is sorry for performing there. Meghan Markle made a surprise appearance in Paris and had the world's most awkward kiss. Her trip was not without criticism as she publicly mocked Princess Diana. 50 months in prison for Diddy. Thinking he was getting no jail time, he was booking speaking gigs for this week. Diddy has yet ANOTHER sexual assault case. Britney Spears is terrified of K-Fed's new book. We speculate what he might say about her genitailia. Theo Von was on College GameDay and was totally rejected on TV. He's somehow #12 on Ranker's top comedians list. Did you know Vinnie from the Jersey Shore is a stand-up comedian now? BranDon's neighbor continues to battle David Geffen. Corey Feldman is geeked to be possibly maybe considered for a Grammy nomination. Marimar Martinez vs ICE. Also, dog poop vs Trump Cybertruck. Harvard has some pretty cool electives these days. Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt appears as though Marvel Studios much speculated film that was slated to release between Avengers: Doomsday and Avengers: Secret Wars in July 2027, won't be happening after all; or at least not that July, as Disney has replaced the untitled project with a sequel to The Simpsons Movie dated for July 23, 2027. The move comes as a surprise to many Marvel fans who anticipated a possible Doctor Strange or Shang-Chi sequel to take place between the Avengers tentpoles but is in keeping with what Bob Iger and Kevin Feige have promised about a slowdown in production. Elsewhere, with Marvel Zombies premiering on Disney Plus last week, Marvel TV head Brad Winderbaum teased a possible season 2, but emphasized that would be contingent on viewership and new Disney Plus subscriptions. Meanwhile, Elizabeth Olsen took the opportunity to share that although she recorded lines for the series, she doesn't remember anything about the show or plot. Additional criteria the filmmaker included is that the performer must hail from the British Isles and be male, as well as his desire to capture what Fleming called “a blunt instrument” — the lethal but “extremely dull, uninteresting man to whom things happened.” If Villeneuve and team stay true to these parameters, it potentially rules out many fan-casted favorites and seems to be in more alignment with the Broccoli family's traditions with the character than expected with new creatives in control.Mark Ronson is slated to reunite with Greta Gerwig to score her Chronicles of Narnia adaptation at Netflix. Bill Maher sits down with Seth Green for a fast, funny conversation that zig-zags from Hollywood war stories to pop-culture philosophy – including a wild night on the town with Macaulay Culkin, Andy Dick, and Marilyn Manson that went spectacularly sideways. They trade notes on weed, hemp, and the myth-versus-merit of CBD, then dive into the child-actor reality – Gary Coleman's hard truths, “fame without money,” and how Seth managed to avoid the pitfalls. From MTV Awards and Punk'd pranks to the anniversaries of Smashing Pumpkins and Green Day's Dookie and American Idiot, they rewind to MTV Cribs, recount an undercover poker prank, and even debate the most important question of all: are comic books literature? Kate Flannery and Oscar Nuñez had a mini "Office" reunion on last night's season finale of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" and went ALL THE WAY! (You'd know them as Meredith and Oscar on the show.) They even called up Brian Baumgartner (Kevin) for their "Phone-a-Friend" lifeline. As for the million-dollar question? "The word 'planet' comes from an ancient Greek word that literally means what?" Their options were "powerful," "immortal," "stranger," and "wanderer" . . . the answer being "wanderer". Kate and Oscar will be splitting their winnings between Planned Parenthood and a Philadelphia-based food bank called Philabundance. Fresh off Coachella comes Stagecoach! Katie Couric pokes fun at Sydney Sweeney's American Eagle ad in a new PSA for colon cancer screenings. The clip opens to a close-up of Katie wearing a jean jacket, and quickly pans out to show she's wearing a hospital gown underneath, and she's on a gurney getting ready for a colonoscopy. She tells the camera, quote, "Speaking of genes. Did you know that the majority of people who develop colon cancer are not genetically predisposed to the disease? That's why doctors recommend everyone 45 and older get checked." Katie told "People" magazine, quote, "That ad showed how pop culture and a pair of jeans could really shape the cultural conversation, it was everywhere. It was a moment in time, and we thought, 'Why don't we ride that horse a little bit longer and have some fun with it?'" It'sbeen 25 years since Katie became the first person in history to broadcast a colonoscopy on national TV. She lost her husband to colon cancer in 1998. He was only 42. One of the most famous homes in American history is opening its doors to the public for the first time ever. The "Brady Bunch" house in North Hollywood will be accessible to fans on November 7th, 8th, and 9th. And while bookings are sold out, you can register to be on a waitlist, or be notified if additional dates become available. When the show was in production back in the day, the house was only used for EXTERIOR shots. The inside of the Brady home was created on a soundstage, and the inside of the actual house looked nothing like it. But HGTV bought the house in 2018, and renovated it so that it DOES match the house from the show. And of course, they recorded it for a series called "A Very Brady Renovation". Action legend Chuck Norris, now 85, marked his birthday by hiking Lassen Peak in Northern California—a strenuous trail rising to 10,457 feet. The round-trip journey spans about 5 miles and climbs 2,000 feet, often taking 4 to 5 hours to complete. Outside OnlineOn Instagram, Norris reflected on the trail's long recovery since the 2021 Dixie Fire, saying while the damage is heartbreaking, “the park's beauty still shines through.” Outside Online+2Active NorCal+2 He also credited his wife for introducing him to the region's natural splendor. It's official: HBO Max wants to traumatize your children. What other reason could there be for them to produce a brand new, animated version of "Charlotte's Web", one of the greatest children's stories ever told . . . until it becomes the most heart-wrenchingly brutal story in the history of mankind? This one is a limited series, told in three parts, which will all be released on Thursday, October 2nd. It stars Amy Adams as Charlotte, Elijah Wood as Wilbur the pig, and Jean Smart as the narrator. The voice cast also includes Cynthia Erivo, Randall Park, and Rosario Dawson.
