¡Gracias y feed the cvlt!

53. Hail to the king baby! Come get some listener! Welcome again to the weirdest dungeon ever! Not really, but we're relatively strange. This week the two morons crawl out of the dungeon, head to the local fleapit and rev up a chainsaw for recent cinema release; Evil Dead Rise! Eyeball popping, glass eating, pukey mayhem ensues. For the main feature, the two dickheads discuss; All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (2006) starring misunderstood leading lady Amber Heard, this mid-noughties slasher features a good couple of rug pulls and a seriously complicated final girl. Also up for discussion; resident evil games, mortal kombat, people huffing on deodorant cans of dubious quality and the usual bullshit. Its a golden age goddammit! Like and share this podcast! Halvvägs in i avsnittet hoppar ljudet över till backupinspelningen pga tekniska problem. Dagens film: All The Boys Love Mandy Lande (2006) Skolans hetaste tjej är utan tvekan Mandy Lane. With his miniseries Nine Perfect Strangers premiering on Hulu and Amazon Prime Video Canada this week, director Jonathan Levine (All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, 50/50, Warm Bodies, The Night Before, Long Shot and more) is here to talk about his undying love for Billy Madison, the film that solidified Adam Sandler's screen persona for a decade or more. Your genial host Norm Wilner is more than happy to leverage this into a larger look at the actor's whole overgrown-kid thing, and how Sandler is a much more interesting performer when he's not allowed to wear cargo pants.

Today I'm talking with producers Briand Udovich and Justin Duprie of Rough and Tumble Films. We discuss the ways independent filmmakers working in the sub 1 million dollar range can compete with other larger budget films. Starting with his film All the Boys Love Mandy Lane, Udovich has had a track record of delivering high production value and star power at a fraction of the cost of independent films in the same league. His latest film, Bad Turn Worse, stars Mackenzie Davis, Jeremy Allen White, and Mark Pelligrino.Proud Member of the IFH Podcast Network! For more great filmmaking and screenwriting podcasts:

Hello ladies! This episode is dedicated to the females of the species because it's the first ever Week of the Lady Killers! That's killer ladies, featuring some of the most ruthless women ever caught on celluloid. This genre was chosen by our Patreon patrons. First things first, we kick off Horror Business with Real World Horror about a Wisconsin police officer who started a crew of ghost busters who, for legal reasons, are not ghost busters. They're more like... ghost beaters. Wait, no. Ghost hunters. Shit. Whatever. For all the news unfit to print, we dive into the new HBO series based on the Maniac Cop movies. From there we talk about the possible continuation of the Victor Crowley Hatchet franchise as well as a new thriller series from streaming service Quibi. We've also got updates on the Wrong Turn reboot and a new studio film from our friend Gigi Saul Guerrero. For our film reviews, we talk about a couple of femme fatales starting with bunch of teens getting killed in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. Next up is the creepy psychological horror known as May. So get your Octoberama on and put this brand new episode of the Grave Plot Podcast in your head.
It's October, so that means the return of Buried With Clickers. If you want to hear horror movie reviews from people who don't watch a ton of horror movies, this is the place for you. For our kick-off, we've chosen All The Boys Love Mandy Lane. This film got quite a bit of buzz a number of years ago, but we're just catching up with it now. That's how it goes. marriedwithclickers@gmail.com

On this episode we talk about our passion for the look of Terrence Malick films with William Lindus of the Movie Bears Podcast and Jairo of The True Bromance Film Podcast. This is something we share with two of the filmmakers featured on this podcast as we discuss the merits of the Malick influence on Jonathan Levine's ALL THE BOYS LOVE MANDY LANE and David Lowery's AIN'T THEM BODIES SAINTS. But before we get into those troubled love stories, we see if the man himself continues to trouble former fans as Mr. Malick continues to lose the narrative in his latest, SONG TO SONG. Welcome the newest episode of Dark Discussions, your place for the discussion of horror film, fiction, and all that’s fantastic. Shelved! The dreaded word that anyone that has worked on a film hates to hear. It has happened with a good many high profile films including Snowpiercer, Hidden, and All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. When Oliver Blackburn, an English director, came out with the well received 2008 thriller, Donkey Punch, folks were curious to see what was next for him. By 2013 he had a new film, titled Satanic, all ready to go. Starring up-and-comer Haley Bennett and Twilight's Ashley Greene, the Weinstein Company suddenly held it back, the film changed titles three times, and landed up on disc in some foreign markets before finally being released in the states in 2015 near Halloween on the Lifetime network. During Thanksgiving break, Justine decides to stay at college and take it easy for a few days. Alone in a deserted and isolated campus, rather than allowing boredom to set in, she enjoys her time alone swimming, studying, and watching movies. Yet on an excursion to the local convenience store, she meets a curious stranger that happens to be short on money. Justine, being a good Samaritan, offers to pay for the girl's soda. Unbeknownst to her, the stranger is something more than just a down-on-her-luck outsider. Kristy, the final title of the film, was written by Anthony Jaswinski, familiar to genre fans as the screenwriter for Brad Anderson's movie Vanishing on 7th Street. The history of the film is very much in mystery. Why did it get re-titled many times? What caused the producers to wait three years to release it? Ashley Greene, on her website, promoted its Halloween release on the Lifetime Network which has recently had some fine thrillers including Stephen King's Big Driver. Dark Discussions takes a look at the film and gives their thoughts. As always we welcome your comments: darkdiscussions@aol.com (written email or attached mp3 files) WWW.DARKDISCUSSIONS.COM
