In this conversation, Marshall and Nick discuss various topics, including the lack of cold beer, their experiences during the 4th of July holiday, muscle cars, and the popularity of Tesla vehicles. They also touch on the challenges of making money on electric vehicles and the trend of customizing Tesla Cybertrucks. The conversation covers various topics including the importance of paying a premium price for top-quality service, the domino effect of detailing, the use of different products for different purposes, the unpredictability of water spotting, and the limitations of car washes. In this conversation, Nick and Marshall discuss the importance of understanding the reality of car washes and how to communicate that to customers. They emphasize the need to manage customer expectations and explain that car washes are not always able to remove all chemicals from the surface of the vehicle, which can lead to damage. They also discuss the concept of purpose and how it relates to choosing the right ceramic coating for a vehicle. They highlight the importance of considering the length of ownership and the customer's habits when recommending a coating. They also touch on the topics of resolve, delusion, and the challenges of running a business. Takeaways The availability of truly cold beer seems to be diminishing, with many establishments not keeping their beer as cold as it used to be. The 4th of July holiday has become bigger and more significant over the years, with more people taking time off and celebrating. Muscle cars, like the Chevelle SS, evoke nostalgia and admiration, but they may not always be as fast as modern electric vehicles like Teslas. The Ford CEO's comments about the challenges of making money on big electric SUVs and trucks highlight the need for manufacturers to consider smaller electric vehicles. The Tesla Cybertruck has gained popularity, but some people find the design and wraps to be unappealing or poorly executed. Paying a premium price for a service ensures that the provider will handle any mistakes or issues that arise. The domino effect in detailing refers to the tendency for one task to lead to another, resulting in more work than initially anticipated. Different products have different purposes and should be used accordingly. For example, rinseless or waterless products are best for light cleaning, while last step products like Slick are ideal for finishing touches. Water spotting can occur on any surface, regardless of the type of protection applied. There is no foolproof way to prevent water spotting. Car washes can vary in their effectiveness and may not always remove all chemicals or residue from the vehicle's surface. Car washes are not always able to remove all chemicals from the surface of a vehicle, which can lead to damage. When recommending a ceramic coating, it's important to consider the length of ownership and the customer's habits. Resolve and purpose are important factors in making decisions about car care. Running a business requires both hard work and smart work. Creating relationships and tapping into networks can greatly benefit a business. Do you view your digital agency clients as a means to an end? Are you and your team taking a real interest in your clients in order to understand them as a person first? Creating relationships is at the core of every successful agency. That's why today's guest finds his background in accounting a helpful skill in understanding what is important to his agency clients. Budgets and bottom line are one thing, but clients want to be treated like humans. He is on the show to share the insights he has learned about client relationships, how he weaves that into the interview process, and two pivotal moments that helped him have confidence and courage as an agency owner. Spencer Hadelman is the founder and CEO of Advantage Marketing, a Chicago-based marketing firm that provides digital and traditional media solutions. His agency has served big brand clients like the University of Berkley and Hello Kitty and also invests in multiple companies with their recent e-commerce acquisitions. In this episode, we'll discuss: Why creating relationships is at the core of every successful agency. One unique interview tactic that assesses agency employees. Today, he's helping Jason bring something new to the Smart Agency podcast audience by interviewing a special guest and getting a new perspective on the show.   Serving Agency Clients According to Their Specific Needs Spencer describes his business as a full-service marketing firm since he believes the label “agency” scares people off sometimes. He understands clients don't always need help in every area so his company has 3 subdivisions: Digital advertising: Helping clients with search and Google campaigns, as well as paid social. Traditional media: Including television ad campaigns, radio, billboards, and direct mail. Content creation: Mainly content for their organic social campaigns. They also do website design, logo design, branding work, etc. Some clients require all three services while others choose just one pillar depending on their needs. Overall, clients seem to appreciate that, depending on their strategy, they have different experts working on their marketing needs. They aren't just pushed to one division completely. It's great to have a different perspective from someone in a different division and in the end, it's all about the results. Why Human Relationships Are at the Core of Every Successful Agency Even though Spencer majored in accounting, he credits the knowledge and skill set he got from his education as an important part of his marketing work. In fact, having those accounting skills is something he recommends to anyone wanting to own a business someday. Marketing courses and working at other agencies gave him the experience he needed to learn about the industry; however, accounting is what still helps him understand the clients' businesses. Working at other agencies he learned about media buying and the evolution of changing technologies. The biggest lesson he took away, however, was that clients want to be treated like humans. It's not just about their budget and coming in focused on how much ad spend. It's about creating long-term relationships. Whether it's a startup or a huge brand, if clients are putting their faith in you, you need to take a human approach to it. It was those relationships with clients that gave Spencer the push to start his agency. It seemed like a logical next step, after realizing clients didn't really care about the agency and were more excited to work with him and his team.   A Unique Interview Tactic that Helps Assess Agency Employees Spencer likes to prepare potential new hires for possible hostile reactions from clients. This is something he does even during their interview process. He reads their CV in front of them and shows a dismissive attitude just to see their reactions. In his opinion, it's a good way to see how someone handles conflict and difficult situations. To balance that with a fun work culture, he organizes outings, retreats, and contests. To help the team integrate and have fun, he comes up with different activities throughout the year. This reflects on the way the team interacts with one another and helps create strong relationships. 2 Pivotal Moments That Shaped Confidence and Courage as an Agency Owner When Spencer started his agency, a friend offered to rent him an extra office space. Although he had planned to just work from home and not pay any rent, his friend offered him a very reasonable deal and he took it. Looking back, this helped him a lot during the early stages of his agency. He had access to a conference room where he could meet clients, which greatly helped with credibility. He also got to wake up every morning and leave the house, which helped his agency feel more like a real business even if he was one person at the time. It was such an impactful gesture that nowadays he always offers office space to that same friend. Another pivotal moment for Spencer happened while working at another agency. He pitched some ideas to the owners of a golf resort. In the end, that client didn't end up choosing the agency but liked his ideas. They were vocal about the opportunity to work with him outside that agency. After quitting, he reached out to them and they talked about a project for a golf course in Wisconsin. He had never worked on that type of project but knew the sport well and had his agency experience to fall back on. It's now one of the top five golf resorts in the country, something he helped build since its beginning. Overall, Spencer is very proud of how it all happened because he had the confidence and courage to follow through with that client. He thinks every agency owner could benefit from trusting their abilities and taking calculated risks when someone expresses interest in working with them. Sometimes we treat relationships like 'I said I was in a relationship, so therefore I am.' Which isn't wrong... but it's also not necessarily true. Relationships need to be continually fostered and created. Just because you said you were dating several years ago doesn't mean that you can just leave it at that. Relationships take continual effort and I believe polyamory highlights the necessity of this ongoing evolution in relating. . Summary: Relationships start with God's love. Everything in God is based on relationships. He wants people to love with His love. Friends and acquaintances are important, a simple smile can create a lifelong relationship. Show Notes: Do we want to create relationships? Do we tend to be arrogant and make others feel inferior? The Pharisees knew the scriptures, and we learn that “The letter kills but the spirit gives life”. Right relationships start with receiving God's love. He wants people to love with His love. God Freights our words with His Spirit and we are to just speak and/or make eye contact with a smile, which are means to impart His love. Relationships are what matter; they are far more important than having all the answers. The age and or experience level are irrelevant, it is the relationship that ministers. Expect to hear God speak through another, God flows through people. Right relationships are created by a word from God. References: 1 Cor. 3:6-9 6. I planted, Apollos watered, but God was causing the growth. 7. So then neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but God who causes the growth. 8. Now he who plants and he who waters are one, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 9. For we are God's fellow workers; you are God's field, God's building. 2 Cor. 3:6 6. who also made us adequate as servants of a new covenant, not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life. 1 John 4:9-13 9. By this the love of God was manifested in us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world so that we might live through Him. 10. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11. Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12. No one has beheld God at any time; if we love one another, God abides in us, and His love is perfected in us. 13. By this we know that we abide in Him and He is us because He has given us of His Spirit. 1 John 4:19 19. We love because He first loved us

Rachel Signer was an aspiring author living in Brooklyn and cobbling together a living by freelance writing and working various jobs in hospitality when she was invited on a food and wine themed press trip to Burgundy and Paris. It was a trip that would affirm her deep appreciation for the French language, culture, cuisine, and wine – specifically, natural wine. Rachel spent the next few years following her heart, first to Paris where she dreamed of opening a bar with her best friend, and then to Australia to pursue a relationship with a natural winemaker – the story she recounts in her book, You Had Me at Pét-Nat: A Natural Wine-Soaked Memoir. As she tried to figure out which life path and which place to commit to, Rachel channeled her knowledge and her passion into launching a natural wine-themed publication, Pipette Magazine, and her own label of hand-produced natural wine, Persephone. In this episode, Rachel shares with Esme how that trip to France took her deeper into the world of wine and inspired her to move to Paris, the importance of listening to her gut and making inconvenient choices, and how a relationship with a city can be its own kind of love story.  You can find Rachel on Instagram @rachsig and her magazine at @PipetteMagazine, and purchase her memoir wherever books are sold or by visiting her website www.rachelsigner.com/book. Welcome to The Post Purchase Podcast, Episode 35. This is the episode set, where we're going to talk about creating relationships and joint venture partnership using influencers to help your business. Welcome to episode 35 folks, Seth. And I are going to quickly walk you through our process that we've used to develop relationships with, quote, unquote, influencers in our industry, and how you can use this exact same strategy to help grow your sales. Whether on Amazon for physical products, or if you're doing digital, products delivered online. So Yeah, so actually show on this is probably one of our most profitable strategies that we've ever used. Whether we're selling physical products or digital products, it doesn't matter. So, the premises, guys, that there are people out there that have already spent a lot of time, and a lot of money to aggregate your ideal customer. They have brought in people that would also be interested in your product or service. So, if you can just develop a relationship with those people, then you can form a profitable joint venture partnership where, you know, like in our case, Sean, we've done this successfully with products or bloggers where we've taken our product to them and allowed them to make an offer to their audience for our products. So we're gonna get into those details. But just realize how powerful it is to be able to tap into somebody who has already spent a lot of time, money, and effort, to build your perfect audience, Sean? Yeah, exactly. So this is not a one and done type of system. What's required here is ongoing, step by step processes. These are multiple touchpoints and multiple exposure to your, let's call it your dream, customer base, or your dream influencer base, OK? It's not like, you know, reach out to somebody one time and asked for a favor that would, that would make you what what Ryan Miranda calls an *******. Don't be an ******* continually asking for favors. What you want to do is reach out and say and I know this is going to come as a surprise Seth but what can I do to help you, what can I do to add value to your community? What can I do to serve your audience and that entirely changes the entire script and the positioning. And it's not like you know to be successful in this set. It's kinda like mowing your lawn. You can go out there, mow your lawn, right? and it looks great for 3 or 4 days But guess what? If you get a little bit of rain and a little bit of sunshine which is not typical in Indiana where you are this time of year. But the grass is going to grow back. If you want to stay on top of it and continue to have a successful lawn, You know what? You gotta mow it every week and that's how you approach this. You're planning tiny little seeds every day, every week, systematically, and you're not expecting for every one of those seeds to grow into 50 foot tall tree, producing fruit, All right? Some seeds germinate. Some seeds don't write. Some get blown away in the wind, some get just the right amount of nurturing and sunlight, and and water, and they sprout into something amazing and surf. I know that you can attest to this as well. Some of those tiny seeds that we planted years ago are now producing an abundance of fruit for all of our businesses. Yeah, so let me give you an example, Sean, of how we actually had this play out in our Amazon business. So you probably remember, if you've been listening at all, the product that we sold early on in our Amazon journey, which was a Bamboo Pillow. Well, one of the strategies that we used was this joint venture

In this episode of the Revenue Accelerator Podcast, we have invited Janelle Kennedy, Founder of Jayde Consulting. She began her career in 1997 as an Account Executive in the Real Estate Industry. She grew her talents and knowledge throughout the years working in Home Warranty, Title, and Escrow, then as a Business Development Officer in 2019 for a mortgage. Over the years, as an Account Executive, she has earned multiple titles, including Rookie of the Year and Top Million Dollar Producer. She now spreads the wealth as a member of Social Register, Women Decision Makers, and the More Mastermind Group, and Chapter President of The Dames. Today, she shares how you can build authentic relationships that will help your business move forward and how you can establish connections with other people.Work Smarter, Not Harder[5:36]For Janelle, working smarter is identifying which Power Partners she needs to work with to build a relationship with them and then leveraging them. It didn't matter where she was working. She just made sure she had those relationships.[6:59]There's a place where that happens. It's not at the beginning of your business or working person just by yourself. Entrepreneurship can be lonely, and the only way to move forward is to have Power Partners.Mistakes People Make when nurturing Relationships[7:12]One of the mistakes people make when it comes to nurturing a relationship and identifying power partners is expectation. When you walk into a room, you expect that the person you're talking to will be the one that can send you something. But you cannot assume that you learn to identify who the proper connection is when you walk in. When you have what you want to be identified, you're going to see it much quicker. So don't spend so much time talking to somebody. Find the one that you need to talk to so that the relationship is effective and productive. Make sure you stay in it and make it personal.Creating Relationships and Connections[9:39]When we refer, it is an extension of our reputation. It's building a relationship and creating a real connection with somebody. Many people focus on the ideal client, which is essential. You need to know what their pain points are and all that stuff. Focus on your ideal referral partner or ideal strategic partner. Identify the criteria and qualities in that person that would enable them to create referrals or give you referrals, whether it's an actual client or another strategic partner. [27:22]Listen to your clients and take what your clients are telling you. That's what you need to tell people that you do. It can't be just “she was fun” or “has a great personality.” Testimonials should be deeper, quantifiable, and impactful.Learn more about Janelle KennedyWebsite: https://jaydeconsulting.net/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/janellekennedylvInstagram: https://www.instagram.com/jaydeconsulting/Youtube: https://jaydeconsulting.net/#LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/janellekennedylv/Email: Janelle@JaydeConsulting.net Hosted on Acast. Relationships are what matter; they are far more important that having all the answers. 8. Now he who plants and he who waters are one; but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor. 13. By this we know that we abide in Him and He is us, because He has given us of His Spirit. 1 John 4:19 19. We love, because He first loved us. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/live-behind-the-veil/support

Welcome to the This Shit Works Podcast! I am your host Julie Brown. I am Professional Speaker, Business Development Strategist, Networking coach and Author of This Shit works a No nonsense Guide to Networking Your Way To More Friends More Adventures and more success. I teach people how to create authentic business relationships through the power of authentic Networking. People hate networking, mostly because they are doing it all wrong. And I can't blame them, it's no something we learned in school. I spent years laboring over the Pythagorean theorem and quadratic equations which I have used a total of Zero times since I graduated. But networking, a skill that has the power to change each and every persons career was never taught. So no wonder most people don't know how to network, or have the tools to do it correctly, or think that they were not born with the gift of networking. Creating Relationships and networking is one of the most fundamental methods to advance your career even a cause that you are passionate about, because, at it's core networking is human communication 101 and that is what builds authentic relationships.  So how many hours do you need to dedicate to networking each week. Studies suggest about 6. Thats it, 6 hours!! 6 hours out of the 168 hours you have every week it takes to build a good network that can help you land your dream job , launch anew business, or increase the influence and success you have in your existing career. So you have no excuse to not do it. We need relationships because everything and everyone is dependent on each other and all of the connections, assistance, referrals and other good shit you need will be unlocked when you network. 33% of people are expected to lose their job during Covid-19 Created. Without networking and a network of people around you it can be really difficult to bounce back and find a job. 74% of jobs are filled via networking and word of mouth and if you don't have a strong network you your access to these positions will be extremely limited. This is why I started this podcast, to help people realize that the people you meet can one hundred percent change your life. Networking is how you meet those people. Each week we will dig into my life lessons and that of others, so that you can create the future that you want.  All you have to do is spend 5-25 minutes every week and absorb the tools that I teach you and practice using them every week and I promise, once you get the hang of it it will come naturally to you. This Episode is an introduction to the journey we will be taking together, making networking fun, accessible and career changing. Lets go. Quote: “There is no shortcut to success.
