It's Thursday, July 17th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark West Bank Christian communities attacked by Israeli settlers Christian communities in the West Bank are experiencing increasing attacks from Israeli settlers. Last Monday, Jewish extremists targeted the Palestinian Christian town of Taybeh. They attacked houses and started fires near the community's historic church building. The Council of Patriarchs and Heads of Churches of Jerusalem released a statement, saying, “The attacks by the hands of settlers against our community, which is living in peace, must stop, both here in Taybeh and elsewhere throughout the West Bank. This is clearly part of the systematic attacks against Christians that we see unfolding throughout the region.” Church of England affirms sexual perversion for clergy … again The Church of England voted Tuesday to remove a 1991 teaching document on sexuality from its ordination process. The document, entitled Issues in Human Sexuality, said that clergy should not live in homosexual relationships.  However, church leaders said the document now appears “prejudicial and offensive.”  The Church of England has allowed clergy to enter homosexual civil partnerships since 2005. Last year, it approved services of blessing for homosexual couples. Isaiah 5:20 says, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who put darkness for light, and light for darkness.” Christian non-profit victorious in case against ChatGPT In the United States, a Christian non-profit won a religious freedom lawsuit against one of the biggest artificial intelligence organizations around. OpenAI offers a 20% non-profit discount for a ChatGPT subscription unless an organization is religious. A Christian non-profit named Holy Sexuality challenged this policy with the help of Alliance Defending Freedom. In response, OpenAI reversed course and offered the discount. It also removed religious discrimination language from its policy.   Dr. Christopher Yuan, the founder of Holy Sexuality, said, “Some corporations—especially tech companies—emboldened by intersectional ideology and anti-Christian sentiment, choose to unlawfully discriminate based solely on religion. We are grateful for this victory.” Fourth Circuit upholds West Virginia ban on abortion kill pill On Tuesday, the U.S. Fourth Circuit Court of Appeals upheld West Virginia's ban on the Abortion Kill Pill called mifepristone. The challenge to the ban came from GenBioPro, a company that produces the killing drug.  The case marks the first time a federal appeals court has allowed states to restrict access to mifepristone.  West Virginia Republican Governor Patrick Morrisey responded to the ruling, “West Virginia can continue to enforce our pro-life laws and lead the nation in our efforts to protect life. We will always be a pro-life state!” Senate Republicans pass $9 billion budget cut U.S. Senate Republicans advanced a $9 billion rescission bill on Tuesday with the tie-breaking vote of Vice President J.D. Vance. The measure follows President Donald Trump's agenda to cut spending on foreign aid and public broadcasting. Republicans must have the bill ready to be signed by Friday for the rescissions to be enacted.  Listen to comments from Republican Senate Majority Leader John Thune. THUNE: “Later today, the Senate will begin consideration of the Trump administration's rescissions package reining in waste, fraud and abuse in the federal government is a priority shared by President Trump and by Senate Republicans. “I appreciate all the work the administration has done in identifying wasteful spending. And now it's time for the Senate to do its part to cut some of that waste out of the budget. It's a small but important step toward fiscal sanity that we all should be able to agree is long overdue.” Christian and Gospel music seeing a resurgence Christian and Gospel music is seeing a resurgence, according to a report on music streaming trends by Luminate.  The Christian/Gospel genre moved up to seventh place in the top 10 U.S. music genres this year. And Christian music ranked fourth among the highest-growth genres. The report found Christian music listeners are mostly female, and the top generation listening to Christian music is Millennials. Deacon given free truck after protecting church from gunman And finally, WXYZ reports a church deacon in Michigan received a new truck recently after preventing a mass shooting at his church last month.  On Sunday, June 22, a shooter opened fire outside CrossPointe Community Church in Wayne, Michigan. In God's providence, Deacon Richard Pryor was running late. He saw the gunman heading to the church's front door, dressed in camouflage and bearing an AR-15 style rifle as well as  more than a dozen fully-loaded magazines. That's when Pryor ran the shooter over. However, his truck was totaled in the process as the shooter shot up the truck.  Fortunately, Pryor was not injured.  Another person, acting as a volunteer security guard, shot the gunman dead. In response, a local Ford dealership gifted the hero a brand new truck on a two-year free lease. Pryor said he was “thankful for everybody's support. The Lord was definitely involved in the events of that Sunday.” Psalm 121:4 and 7 says, “Behold, He who keeps Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. … The LORD shall preserve you from all evil; He shall preserve your soul.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, July 17th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. In this episode, Stephen explains how the overturning of Roe v. Wade didn't reduce abortions but shifted them to new methods like Telehealth and medication. Sylvester Stallone & Wesley Snipes are constantly fined "1 Credit" in this action-packed thrill ride. Can Sandra Bullock control this much testosterone? Will Dennis Leary entertain and inform? Can Nigel Hawthorne or Bob Gunton enjoy their peace and quiet? Highly unlikely to all these questions. And of course we talk about the three seashells.  Bad language, chocolate, gasoline, uneducational toys and anything spicy. Vermonters overwhelmingly voted to enshrine reproductive rights in the state constitution in 2022. But what if those rights – to abortion, birth control and other reproductive health services – are nearly impossible to access?Putting care out of reach appears to be the strategy behind the Trump administration's relentless assault on Planned Parenthood, the nation's largest provider of reproductive health care. President Trump's “big beautiful bill” that he signed into law on July 4 includes a provision to defund Planned Parenthood and other organizations that provide abortions. A federal judge has temporarily blocked this provision, but if the Trump administration prevails, Planned Parenthood says that numerous health care centers may close, mostly in states where abortion remains legal. This compounds a problem in Vermont, since half of Planned Parenthood's clinics in the state have closed in the last three years due to an ongoing financial crisis with Planned Parenthood of Northern New England (PPNNE).Medicaid already bans funding for abortions. Most of Planned Parenthood's Medicaid patients who obtain family planning services receive birth control and STI testing. One in four Planned Parenthood patients in Vermont and Maine are insured by Medicaid, and one in five in New Hampshire.“The absurdity of all of this is just so transparent,” Nicole Clegg, CEO of Planned Parenthood of Northern New England, told The Vermont Conversation. “We have long-lasting relationships with our patients. We could be their main provider for years … and to suddenly be told, ‘Sorry, you can't go to that provider anymore because they also provide abortion care' — that's what's happening here. That's the goal.”Clegg emphasized that “the overwhelming majority of what we're providing to patients are disease testing and treatment, cancer screenings, wellness exams, birth control. Those are the primary needs that people have during their reproductive years.”Abortion opponents are “no longer interested in the states where they've been successful in banning abortion. They're now really focused on the states where abortion is still legal, so that includes Vermont, and what they're trying to do is go after providers. So that's the new tactic,” Clegg said. She noted that people seeking an abortion in states where it is banned are increasingly coming to New England for care. She told the story of a couple seeking an abortion who drove from Oklahoma to Vermont “because they felt like that was going to be the safest option for them.”“We live in an area of the country where we are a little bit insulated from this fear, but this fear is very real.”What is motivating the attacks?“It's about abortion. It's about controlling people and their ability to make decisions and decide when to have a family,” Clegg replied.A 2024 Pew survey found that two out of three Americans – and 79% of Vermonters – believe that abortion should be legal in all or most cases.“We needed to sort of wake people up by having them lose these basic rights. That's where we are right now.”One in three women have received care from Planned Parenthood in their lifetime, according to the Kaiser Family Foundation. “There's just no other healthcare provider in our country that has that kind of reach and impact,” Clegg said.I asked Clegg what a world without Planned Parenthood would look like. She cited research on what has happened in areas where a Planned Parenthood health center has closed.“Worse pregnancy outcomes. Increased rates of cancer. Increased rates of unintended pregnancy. Untreated sexually transmitted diseases. Increased rates of HIV and AIDS.”Will Planned Parenthood survive?Clegg noted that this year marks Planned Parenthood's 60th anniversary. “We have touched the lives of more than a million people” in northern New England, she said. “I fundamentally believe we will get through this because people support us. People want to come to us for care. We are embedded in our states and a part of our community in deep ways. We matter too much for our states and our communities to just accept that we would close our doors.”

With the global rise of the far-right, women's rights are increasingly under threat. French author Lauren Bastide remains hopeful: feminism can save the world, but only as a revolutionary project that seeks to improve society at all levels, for everyone.Together with migrants and people from the LGBTQ+-community, women are among the first to suffer when a society takes an autocratic turn. Abortion rights in the United States are being undermined; in Hungary, women are encouraged through tax incentives to have more children – policy measures expressing the autocratic conviction that a woman's primary roles are those of mother and wife. How can feminism oppose these tendencies? And what should feminism look like? French author and journalist Lauren Bastide argues that feminism should not be about corporate slogans and individual success stories, but rather be grounded in global solidarity. In this programme, we'll explore how feminist values can build new alliances across borders. What solutions does feminism rooted in solidarity and intersectionality provide?Programme maker: Larissa BiemondThis programme is a part of the Forum on European Culture 2025.Zie het privacybeleid op https://art19.com/privacy en de privacyverklaring van Californië op https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

In this episode of Selective Ignorance, Mandi B dives into the often polarizing and deeply personal topic of politics within the Black community. [00:00] The episode begins by framing the conversation around the growing alignment with Republican ideologies, setting the stage for an honest exploration of what’s behind these shifting political identities. [02:51] The hosts unpack the tension many Black voters feel—caught between traditional party loyalties and dissatisfaction with how their needs have been addressed. [06:11] Guests Carla Will Maris and Ray Daniels join the conversation, bringing their own experiences and perspectives on what it means to claim a political identity in today’s climate. [08:48] A spirited debate unfolds around personal responsibility and the impact of supporting certain policies, with each speaker challenging assumptions and raising hard questions about where values and interests intersect. [11:47] The discussion moves into the terrain of trans rights and gender identity, exploring how these issues have become lightning rods in political discourse and what real allyship requires. [14:56] The hosts consider the role of media in shaping public perception, examining how narratives are constructed—and manipulated—to sway opinions and reinforce division. [17:45] Abortion and women’s rights take center stage next, with an honest look at the stakes for marginalized communities when reproductive freedom is politicized. [20:56] The conversation broadens to the intersection of race, gender, and politics, unpacking how layered identities shape not only individual beliefs but also the collective priorities of the Black community. Finally, [23:47] reflections on the importance of civic engagement and understanding diverse perspectives, even—and especially—when they challenge our own. This episode is a reminder that political alignment is never just about party lines. It’s about history, identity, and the courage to wrestle with uncomfortable truths in search of progress. “No Holes Barred: A Dual Manifesto Of Sexual Exploration And Power” w/ Tempest X!Sale Link Follow the host on Social MediaMandii B Instagram/X @fullcourtpumps Follow the guests on Social Media@carlawilmaris @raydaniels Follow the show on Social MediaInstagram @selectiveignorancepodTiktok @selective.ignoranceX/Twitter @selectiveig_podSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

    * A Whole Lot Moore: Peter W. Moor, ThD is a Christian master metallurgist listed as "inventor" in patents held by U.S. Steel. Pete began speaking to Churches on Science and Evolution in 1970. His more recent work has been to help fund organizations that do scientific creation research and those who present that evidence to the public. * Aether or: ...relative nonsense. Hear a brief history, and then, not only criticisms of, but an alternate theory to Einstein's rather ridiculous postulates regarding time and space. Hear how Einstein not only dethroned Newtonian physics, but how his relativistic thinking has infected the minds of otherwise relatively smart creationists! * E-PLat - (The Simhony/EPOLA): RSR is suggesting a name for the E-PLat!! Hear how Menahem Simhony is the father of a scientifically satisfactory description of what "space" is likely made of. Originally called the EPOLA, for the "Electron/Positron Lattice," we're suggesting E-PLat to avoid confusion with a certain virus! You'll have to listen to all 4 parts of the interview to form your opinion on whether or not the EPOLA/E-PLat makes more sense to you than Einstein's "purely mathematical" description of a relativistic universe. * Deriving $10,000.00: ... and quite possibly a Nobel Prize! RSR and Dr. Moore are offering a prize of $10,000.00 to the first person to submit an acceptable technical derivation of the Gravitational Constatn "G" based on the Natural Physics and Structure of the Simhony/EPOLA Model of the Space Vaccuum. It's Thursday, July 10th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 140 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Pakistani court acquitted two Christian teens of false blasphemy charges A court in Pakistan acquitted two Christians of false blasphemy charges against Islam on Tuesday.  Adil Babar and Simon Nadeem, 18 and 14 years old respectively, were charged and arrested in 2023. A court advocate for the Christian young men told Morning Star News, “There's a dire need to make procedural reforms in cases involving blasphemy to protect the victims, a majority of whom are declared innocent after years of court proceedings and imprisonment.” Sadly, these kind of false blasphemy charges are weaponized against Christians in the Muslim-majority country. Pakistan is ranked eighth on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult places to be a Christian.  Reformed pastors to call U.K. Parliament to repent over abortion, euthanasia laws A group of Reformed ministers are prepared to call the U.K. parliament to repent next Tuesday, July 15. Christian leaders with UK Gospel Witness plan to proclaim the Gospel and call the government to repentance. In particular, the organizers lament recent legislation on the Assisted Dying Law and New Abortion Law.  The event's Facebook page says, “It is our firm conviction that this is a time for God-fearing Christians to unite together and make a public stand and proclamation of Gospel truth in the face of such evil.” Lamentations 3:40-41 says, “Let us search out and examine our ways, and turn back to the LORD; let us lift our hearts and hands to God in Heaven.” Samaritan's Purse deploying teams to flood-ravaged Texas In the United States, Christian ministries are deploying relief teams to central Texas in the wake of devastating flooding. Authorities confirmed 119 people have died from the flash floods, and at least 150 people are missing in Kerr County. Samaritan's Purse is sending disaster relief teams to the area. Rev. Franklin Graham, President of Samaritan's Purse, wrote on Facebook, “We need to continue to surround these devastated families and communities in prayer.” You can make an on-line donation through Samaritan's Purse through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.   Listen to the prayer for these hurting families from HUD Secretary Scott Turner during a White House Cabinet meeting on Tuesday. TURNER: “Father, we're humbled by Your grace. We're humbled by Your mercy. Lord God, we surrender to You. Jesus, You are the great Redeemer. “Lord God, we lift up the families that are mourning, that are grieving, those families that are hurting. Father God, we pray for a peace that surpasses all understanding and Lord Jesus, those that are still there, that are alive. “Father, we pray you will help us to find them Lord God and bring them back to their families. We love you. We honor you. In Jesus' name Amen.” Planned Parenthood closes Cleveland abortion mill Planned Parenthood is permanently closing one of its locations in Cleveland, Ohio. The abortion mill blamed funding cuts from the Trump administration, ending over a decade of its killing business. Cleveland Right to Life responded to the closure by “thanking God for the legislators who stood up to the most-evil organization of our time, Planned Parenthood.” China owns 265,000 acres of American farmland; Trump says, “No more!” The Trump administration announced its National Farm Security Action Plan on Tuesday. Specifically, the U.S. Department of Agriculture is banning foreign adversaries, including Chinese nationals, from buying American farmland.  An infographic from the White House shows that China already owns over 265,000 acres of U.S. farmland. Much of that land is located near U.S. military bases.  Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins said, “We feed the world. We lead the world. And we'll never let foreign adversaries control our land, our labs, or our livelihoods.” Church discipline rarely practiced in Protestant churches And finally, new data from Lifeway Research shows church discipline is rarely practiced in Protestant churches. Fifty-four percent of pastors said their church has not formally disciplined a member since they became pastor or prior as far as they know. Nevertheless, about 80% of churches have policies for formal discipline.  Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, said, “The infrequency of church discipline is not because church members aren't sinning. Church discipline typically occurs when a member is not repentant for a sin or is no longer qualified for a role because of sin.” Ephesians 5:11-13 says, “And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them. For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Thursday, July 10th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Follow us on X or subscribe for free by Spotify, Amazon Music, or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com.  Plus, you can get the Generations app through Google Play or The App Store. Former Missouri State Senator John Lamping joined the Marc Cox Morning Show to unpack the so-called "Big Beautiful Bill," calling it the best Republicans could achieve under the current congressional makeup. Lamping explains how the bill could reduce the deficit — if economic growth hits 3% — and how Medicaid funding changes may soon squeeze Missouri's budget. He also weighs in on Missouri's abortion battleground, blasting the court ruling that temporarily reopens Planned Parenthood clinics and warning about the chaos of legislating by ballot initiative. Lamping supports outlawing abortion with a 50%+1 threshold and raising that threshold immediately afterward to prevent future progressive ballot victories. The segment offers a no-nonsense look at GOP strategy and what's next for Missouri.

Apparently the mother's intention is what creates or negates the humanity of what's in her womb.
