In the midst of the terrible Trump tax bill moving through Congress, Ralph invites Sarah Anderson who directs the Global Economy Project at the Institute for Policy Studies to discuss the massive tax loopholes huge companies like Amazon get that allow them to pay far less in taxes than ordinary working people. Then, Greg LeRoy from Good Jobs First joins us to discuss how state taxpayers are footing the bill for these massive data centers companies like Google are building all over the country. Plus, Ralph has some choice words for passive unions and responds to listener feedback about our guest last week, Nadav Wieman.Sarah Anderson directs the Global Economy Project at the Institute for Policy Studies and is a co-editor of the IPS website Inequality.org. Her research covers a wide range of international and domestic economic issues, including inequality, CEO pay, taxes, labor, and Wall Street reform. They're (Congress is) planning to give huge new tax giveaways to large corporations like Amazon and wealthy people like Amazon founder Jeff Bezos. And partially paying for those tax cuts for the wealthy by slashing programs that mean so much to so many Americans like Medicaid and food assistance.”Sarah AndersonWe're not going to have a healthy, thriving society and economy as long as we have the extreme levels of inequality that we have today.Sarah AndersonDubbed “the leading national watchdog of state and local economic development subsidies,” “an encyclopedia of information regarding subsidies,” “God's witness to corporate welfare,” and “the OG of ensuring that state and local tax policy actually supports good jobs, sustainability, and equity,”* Greg founded Good Jobs First in 1998 upon winning the Public Interest Pioneer Award. He has trained and consulted for state and local governments, associations of public officials, labor-management committees, unions, community groups, tax and budget watchdogs, environmentalists, and smart growth advocates more than 30 years.Public education and public health are the two biggest losers in every state giving away money to data centers right now.Greg Le RoyWe know of no other form of state spending that is so out of control. Therefore, we recommend that states cancel their data center tax exemptions. Such subsidies are absolutely unnecessary for an extremely profitable industry dominated by some of the most valuable corporations on earth such as Amazon, Microsoft, Apple, Facebook, and Google.Good Jobs First report: “Cloudy With a Loss of Spending Control”They've (Congress has) known for years that the ordinary worker pays a higher tax rate than these loophole-ridden corporations.Ralph NaderIn my message to Trump, I ask him, "Why is he afraid of Netanyahu? And doesn't he want to come to the rescue of these innocent babies by saying, ‘Mr. Netanyahu, the taxpayers in this country are paying for thousands of trucks stalled at the border of Gaza full of medicine, food, water, electricity, fuel, and other critical necessities? We're going to put a little American flag on each one of these trucks, and don't you dare block them.'”…No answer.Ralph NaderNews 5/23/251. It seems as though the dam in Israeli politics against acknowledging the horrors in Gaza is beginning to break. In an interview with the BBC this week, former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert stated that what Israel "is currently doing in Gaza is very close to a war crime. Thousands of innocent Palestinians are being killed.” He went on to say, “the war has no objective and has no chance of achieving anything that could save the lives of the hostages.” These quotes come from the Jerusalem Post. And on May 21st, Haaretz reported that opposition party leader Yair Golan warned that Israel could become a “pariah state, like South Africa once was,” based on its actions in Gaza. Speaking a truth that American politicians appear incapable of articulating, he added, a “sane state does not wage war against civilians, does not kill babies as a hobby, and does not set goals for itself like the expulsion of a population.”2. Confirming this prognosis, the Cradle reports “The Israeli military has admitted that more than 80 percent of the people killed in the attacks on Gaza since Israel breached the ceasefire two months ago are…civilians.” This fact was confirmed by the IDF in response to a request from Hebrew magazine Hamakom, wherein “the military's spokesperson stated that 500 of the 2,780 killed in the Gaza Strip as of Tuesday are ‘terrorists.'” Leaving the remaining 2,280 people killed classified as “not suspected terrorists.” The Cradle compares this ratio, approximately 4.5 civilians killed for every combatant, to the Russia-Ukraine war – a ratio of approximate 2.8 to one. Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu has “claimed that the ratio is just one civilian killed for each combatant killed.” At the same time, AP reports that while Israel has allowed a minimum of humanitarian aid to enter Gaza, under immense international pressure, “none of that aid actually reached Palestinians,” according to the United Nations spokesperson Stéphane Dujarric. The renewed offensive coupled with the barring of humanitarian aid has raised the alarm about mass starvation in Gaza.3. Developments on the ground in Gaza have triggered a new wave of international outcry. On May 19th, leaders of the United Kingdom, France and Canada issued a joint statement, reading in part, “We strongly oppose the expansion of Israel's military operations in Gaza. The level of human suffering in Gaza is intolerable… The Israeli Government's denial of essential humanitarian assistance to the civilian population is unacceptable and risks breaching International Humanitarian Law…We will not stand by while the Netanyahu Government pursues these egregious actions. If Israel does not cease the renewed military offensive and lift its restrictions on humanitarian aid, we will take further concrete actions in response.” The Parliament of Spain meanwhile, “passed a non-binding motion calling on the government to impose an arms embargo on Israel,” per Anadolu Ajansı. This potential ban, supported by all parties except the conservative People's Party and the far-right Vox, would “ban the exports of any material that could strengthen the Israeli military, including helmets, vests, and fuel with potential military use.” Left-wing parties in Spain are now pushing for an emergency session to impose a binding decree to this effect.4. The United States however seems to be moving backwards. Drop Site news reports Trump's Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff made a deal with Hamas ensuring that, “the Trump administration would compel Israel to lift the Gaza blockade and allow humanitarian aid to enter the territory…[and] make a public call for an immediate ceasefire,” in exchange for the release of Edan Alexander. Of course, once Alexander was released Trump reneged completely. Basem Naim, a member of Hamas's political bureau, told Drop Site, “He did nothing of this…They didn't violate the deal. They threw it in the trash.” Besides prolonging further the charnel house in Gaza, this duplicity undermines American credibility in the region, particularly with Iran at a time when Trump is seeking a new deal to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons.5. Democrats in Congress are inching towards action as well. On May 13th, Senator Peter Welch introduced Senate Resolution 224, calling for “the urgent delivery of humanitarian aid to address the needs of civilians in Gaza.” Along with Welch, 45 Democrats and Independents signed on to this resolution, that is the entire Democratic caucus except for John Fetterman. On May 14th, Rashida Tlaib introduced House Resolution 409, commemorating the Nakba and calling on Congress to “reinstate support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency, which provides life-saving humanitarian assistance to Palestinians.” This was cosponsored by AOC and Reps. Carson, Lee, Omar, Pressley, Ramirez, Simon, and Coleman. And, on May 21st, a group of eight senators – Welch, Sanders, Kaine, Merkley, Murray, Van Hollen, Schatz, and Warnock – sent a letter urging Secretary of State Rubio to reopen the investigation into the death of Palestinian-American journalist Shireen Abu-Akleh, per Prem Thakker. The Biden administration ruled the death “unintentional,” but a new documentary by Zeteo News reveals a “Biden cover-up.”6. More action is occurring on college campuses as well, as students go into graduation season. At NYU, a student named Logan Rozos said in his graduation speech, “As I search my heart today in addressing you all…the only thing that is appropriate to say in this time and to a group this large is a recognition of the atrocities currently happening in Palestine,” per CNN. NYU announced that they are now withholding his diploma. At George Washington University, the Guardian reports student Cecilia Culver said in her graduation speech, “I am ashamed to know my tuition [fee] is being used to fund…genocide…I call upon the class of 2025 to withhold donations and continue advocating for disclosure and divestment.” GWU issued a statement declaring Culver “has been barred from all GW's campuses and sponsored events elsewhere.” The moral clarity of these students is remarkable, given the increasingly harsh measures these schools have taken to silence those who speak up.7. Moving on, several major stories about the failing DOGE initiative have surfaced in recent days. First, Social Security. Listeners may recall that a DOGE engineer said “40% of phone calls made to [the Social Security Administration] to change direct deposit information come from fraudsters.” Yet, a new report by NextGov.com found that since DOGE mandated the SSA install new anti-fraud checks on claims made over the phone, “only two claims out of over 110,000 were found to likely be fraudulent,” or 0.0018%. What the policy has done however, is slow down payments. According to this piece, retirement claim processing is down 25%. Meanwhile, at the VA, DOGE engineer Sahil Lavingia, “found…a machine that largely functions, though it doesn't make decisions as fast as a startup might.” Lavingia added “honestly, it's kind of fine—because the government works. It's not as inefficient as I was expecting, to be honest. I was hoping for more easy wins.” This from Fast Company. Finally, CBS reports, “leaders of the United States Institute for Peace regained control of their offices Wednesday…after they were ejected from their positions by the Trump administration and [DOGE] in March.” This piece explains that On February 19th, President Trump issued Executive Order 14217 declaring USIP "unnecessary" and terminating its leadership, most of its 300 staff members, its entire board, installing a DOGE functionary at the top and transferring ownership of the building to the federal government. This set off a court battle that ended Monday, when U.S. District Judge Beryl Howell ruled that the takeover was “unlawful” and therefore “null and void.” These DOGE setbacks might help explain Elon Musk's reported retreat from the political spotlight and political spending.8. On May 21st, Congressman Gerry Connolly passed away, following his battle with esophageal cancer. Connolly's death however is just the latest in a disturbing trend – Ken Klippenstein reports, “Connolly joins five other members of Congress who also died in office over the past 13 months…Rep. Raúl Grijalva…Rep. Sylvester Turner…Rep. Bill Pascrell…Rep. Sheila Jackson Lee…[and] Rep. Donald Payne Jr.” All of these representatives were Democrats and their deaths have chipped away at the close margin between Democrats and Republicans in the House – allowing the Republicans to pass Trump's “Big Beautiful Bill” by a single vote. Connolly himself prevailed over AOC in a much-publicized intra-party battle for the Ranking Member seat on the House Oversight committee. It speaks volumes that Connolly was only able to hold onto that seat for a few short months before becoming too sick to stay on. This is of course part and parcel with the recent revelations about Biden's declining mental acuity during his presidency and the efforts to oust David Hogg from the DNC for backing primaries against what he calls “asleep-at-the-wheel” Democrats.9. Speaking of “asleep-at-the-wheel” Democrats, Bloomberg Government reports Senator John Fetterman “didn't attend a single committee hearing in 2025 until…May 8, about a week after an explosive New York Magazine story raised questions about his mental health and dedication to his job.” Fetterman, who represents Pennsylvania on the Commerce, Agriculture, and Homeland Security committees skipped the confirmation hearings for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick and Budget Director Russ Vought, some of the most high-profile and controversial Trump appointments. Fetterman still has yet to attend a single Agriculture committee hearing in 2025.10. Finally, in more Pennsylvania news, the state held its Democratic primaries this week, yielding mixed results. In Pittsburgh, progressives suffered a setback with the ouster of Mayor Ed Gainey – the first Black mayor of the city. Gainey lost to Allegheny County Controller Corey O'Connor, the son of former Mayor Bob O'Connor, the Hill reports. In Philadelphia however, voters approved three ballot measures – including expanding affordable housing and adding more oversight to the prison system – and reelected for a third term progressive reform District Attorney Larry Krasner, per AP. Krasner has long been a target of conservatives in both parties, but has adroitly maneuvered to maintain his position – and dramatically reduced homicide rates in Philly. The Wall Street Journal reports Philadelphia homicides declined by 34% between 2023 and 2024, part of substantial decline in urban homicides nationwide. Kudos to Krasner. This has been Francesco DeSantis, with In Case You Haven't Heard. Get full access to Ralph Nader Radio Hour at www.ralphnaderradiohour.com/subscribe

//The Wire//2300Z May 5, 2025////ROUTINE////BLUF: REVENGE KILLING IN OHIO, PROBABLE REVENGE KILLING ATTEMPTED IN INDIANA. WHITE HOUSE STATES NO TIMELINE FOR EPSTEIN DOC RELEASE. ISRAEL ANNOUNCES PLAN TO COMPLETELY OCCUPY GAZA.// -----BEGIN TEARLINE----- -International Events-Middle East: Israeli media has announced that Netanyahu's cabinet has approved plans to completely seize control of Gaza. Local Israeli media has stated that another general mobilization is underway, with tens of thousands of reservists being calling into active service in the IDF. -HomeFront-Washington D.C. - Significant scandal erupted over the weekend in Congress as House Resolution 867 was introduced for a vote. The bill sought to modify the text of 50 USC 4841 and 4842 (both being wartime trade laws) to restrict American's ability to boycott certain nations and groups (according to the bill's sponsors, specifically one nation, Israel). After the expected backlash, the vote on this bill has been postponed.AC: Most of the outrage over this is really related to the already-passed Anti-Boycott Act of 2018, which went almost completely unnoticed by the chaos of the COVID years. H.R. 867 merely sought to change the terminology so that the term "international government organization" was placed after the words "foreign country" in the text of 50 USC § 4841. What this means in practice is anyone's guess as the original law was passed with extremely vague and broad language. This additional aspect of adding IGO's to the mix is interesting in that it provides a clue as to what manipulations are being undertaken in Washington on this issue. Previously the laws only applied to government-level boycotts...but adding in IGOs could mean that the floodgates are opened for all of this to impact the average American.Washington D.C. - During a press conference the White House has stated that there is no specific timeline for the release of the Epstein files.AC: Though this was probably the case all along, there is almost zero chance that these files will ever be released. Following the binder-scandal of two months ago, a lot of older previously-known documentation will eventually be re-released and touted as new, but the files that everyone wants (as in Epstein's client list that does exist and was presented in court) will almost certainly never be made public.Ohio: A police officer was murdered as part of a revenge killing incident in Cincinnati. A traffic control officer was intentionally struck by a vehicle Friday afternoon near the University of Cincinnati. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Rodney Hinton Jr, who is the father of Ryan Hinton, a black male that was shot and killed by police on Thursday for drawing a gun on police officers who discovered him inside a stolen vehicle they were attempting to locate.AC: Not many details are being released on this incident, probably to reduce the palpably high tensions regarding this incident. Though the timing is hard to verify, local media reports that Rodney Hinton was shown the body cam footage of his son's death, which confirmed beyond all doubt that the police shooting was justified. After viewing the video, Hinton promptly left the police station and proceeded to murder what seems to be a random officer not specifically involved in the incident. Since this was very much a knee-jerk revenge killing, it's hard to imagine that Hinton would have murdered the correct police officer involved in his son's killing (even if it's because the officers involved in the shooting are probably on administrative leave as is standard procedure). However, now that the situation has become a high profile incident, the security concerns to the officers who are actually involved with the prior shooting are exceptionally high, thus the little information regarding the link between these two cases.Indiana

It's Friday, March 7th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian states close all schools for Muslim Ramadan fast Northern Nigerian governments of Bauchi, Katsina, Kano, and Kebbi States issued a directive to close all schools — public and private — for up to five weeks during the Muslim Ramadan fast. It has ignited strong reactions from the Christian Association of Nigeria and the Middle Belt Forum. The groups argue that the closures, which affect millions of students, pose serious threats to education, fairness, and national unity, reports International Christian Concern. John 4:24 underscores the importance of worshiping the one true God, not the false Muslim deity. It says, “God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Trump chastises Democrats for not applauding anything good On Tuesday night, President Donald Trump smartly confronted Democrats early on with their refusal to celebrate any good news. Listen. TRUMP: “This is my fifth such speech to Congress, and once again, I look at the Democrats in front of me, and I realize there is absolutely nothing I can say to make them happy or to make them stand or smile or applaud. Nothing I can do.   “I could find a cure to the most devastating disease, a disease that would wipe out entire nations, or announce the answers to the greatest economy in history, or the stoppage of crime to the lowest levels ever recorded. And these people, sitting right here, will not clap, will not stand, and certainly will not cheer for these astronomical achievements. They won't do it no matter what. Five, five times I've been up here. It's very sad, and it just shouldn't be this way. (applause) “So, Democrats sitting before me for just this one night, why not join us in celebrating so many incredible wins for America? For the good of our nation, let's work together and let's truly make America great again.” Despite his plea, Democrats, without exception, sat on their hands as he announced the acceptance by West Point of Jason Hartley, a high school senior in the gallery, the awarding of the honorary title of Secret Service Agent to D.J. Daniel, a 13-year-old brain cancer survivor in the gallery who aspires to be a law enforcement officer, and the naming of a national wildlife refuge in the Houston area after Jocelyn Nungary, the 12-year-old girl who was brutally killed by two Venezuelan illegal aliens.  Jocelyn's mother was in the gallery. Rep. Al Green kicked out of Trump's congressional speech As he waved his cane, 73-year-old Democratic Congressman Al Green of Texas interrupted Trump by yelling, "You don't have a mandate."  Despite House Speaker Mike Johnson's patient pleas for Rep. Green to stop, he continued, prompting Johnson to have him removed. TRUMP: “Small business optimism …” GREEN: “You don't have a mandate.” TRUMP: “So, it's the single largest one month gain ever recorded, a 41-point jump.” CONGRESSMAN: “Sit down!” JOHNSON: “Members are directed to uphold and maintain decorum in the house and to cease any further disruptions. That's your warning. “Members are engaging in willful and continuing breach of decorum, and the chair is prepared to direct the Sergeant at Arms to restore order to the joint session. (applause) “Mr. Green, take your seat. Take your seat, sir.” GREEN: “No mandate.” JOHNSON: “Take your seat. Finding that members continue to engage in willful and concerted disruption of proper decorum, the Chair now directs the Sergeant at Arms to restore order. Remove this gentleman from the chamber.” House censured Rep. Al Green for disruption of Trump speech Two days later, the U.S. House of Representatives considered a resolution to censure Rep. Green for his disruptive behavior. CLERK: “House Resolution 189: Resolution censuring Representative Al Green of Texas.” After five minutes, House Speaker Mike Johnson announced the vote results. JOHNSON: “On this vote, the yeas are 224, the nays are 198, with two answering present. The resolution is adopted.” The censure of Democratic Congressman Al Green of Texas passed largely along party lines, with 10 Democrats voting with Republicans in favor of the resolution and two lawmakers, including Green, voting "present," reports USA Today. JOHNSON: “Will Representative Green present himself to the well? By its adoption of House Resolution 189, the House has resolved that Representative Al Green be censured. That Representative Al Green forthwith present himself in the well of the House of Representatives for the pronouncement of censure, and that Representative Al Green be censured with public reading of this resolution by the Speaker.” DEMOCRATS: (sing “We Shall Overcome”) After the vote, instead of standing silently while the censure was read, the Texas Democrat led a group of colleagues in a rendition of “We Shall Overcome,” a song long associated with civil rights protests, suggesting that somehow the censuring of Green for his disruptive behavior was racist, reports Roll Call. JOHNSON: (Banging of gavel) “The House will come to order. The House will come to order.” After the Democrats refused to stop singing “We Shall Overcome,” House Speaker Johnson was forced to impose a break called recess. JOHNSON: “Pursuant to clause 12a of rule one, the House will stand in recess subject to the call of the chair.” A censure is considered a severe public rebuke of a legislator brought by other members of Congress, a form of punishment second only to expulsion. The U.S. Constitution allows for Congress to "punish its members for disorderly behavior." Censure is a formal disapproval intended to discipline members of the House. Sen. Fetterman: Democrats are metaphorical car alarms nobody pays attention to Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania had some of the harshest criticism for his party's protests from the chamber, reports RollCall. On Wednesday, Fetterman tweeted, “A sad cavalcade of self and unhinged petulance. It only makes Trump look more presidential and restrained. We're becoming the metaphorical car alarms that nobody pays attention to — and it may not be the winning message.” In 1 Corinthians 13:11, the Apostle Paul wrote, “When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things.” Falling just as flat as Congressman Green's babbling were the Democratic congresswomen who staged a silent protest by wearing pink and other Democrats who held up little paddles emblazoned with lines including “FALSE”, “MUSK STEALS”, and “SAVE MEDICAID.” Plus, some Democrats walked out in the middle of the speech, revealing t-shirts with messages after they removed their jackets. Oil prices dropped to lowest levels in 3 years Oil prices have dropped to their lowest levels in over three years, driven by uncertainties related to the ongoing trade war, which is impacting the global economy and energy demand outlook. Gold up And finally, gold prices rose on Wednesday, supported by a weaker dollar, as investors awaited the release of the U.S. payrolls data later this week for additional insights into the Federal Reserve's monetary policy, reports CNBC. U.S. gold futures rose by 0.2% to $2,927.50 per ounce. These men were part of the 54th Massachusetts Volunteer Infantry Regiment, an instrumental unit in the fight to end slavery in the United States. Swanson's recognition serves as a poignant reminder of the enduring legacy and sacrifices of those who fought for freedom and equality in one of the nation's darkest times.

In the first half of this week's feature on suppressors, silencers and sportsmen Fred catches up with Knox Williams of the American Suppressor Association (ASA). The two talk about recent victories in Vermont and the remaining states that do not allow hunting with suppressors. Knox highlights the misconceptions and misunderstandings surrounding suppressors and the need for education and advocacy. The conversation concludes with a discussion on the federal regulations and the potential for regulatory reform. Fred and Knox dive deep into the history of suppressors and the National Firearms Act, and the need for suppressor reform.   Next, Fred is joined by CSF board member and CEO of Silencer Central Brandon Maddox, and the two explore the potential $200 million windfall that redirecting federal suppressor ‘tax stamp' revenue to conservation would bring to conservation. Maddox explains that currently, silencers are not taxed for conservation funding, unlike firearms and ammunition. The conversation also touches on the lack of awareness among the shooting community about the impact of their purchases on conservation funding. Maddox also talks about his involvement with the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation (CSF) and the benefits of being on the board..   Takeaways The American Suppressor Association (ASA) works to advance suppressor-friendly legislation and promote the benefits of suppressor use, such as hearing protection and reduced noise pollution. A recent victory in Vermont removed the sunset on hunting with suppressors, while eight remaining states do not allow hunting with suppressors Suppressors are classified as firearms and require a tax stamp and registration, which creates unnecessary barriers for law-abiding citizens. The National Firearms Act was originally intended to ban guns, but due to constitutional limitations, it imposed a tax on firearms instead. Live fire demonstrations are effective in showcasing the safety and benefits of suppressors, and the ASA is willing to host demonstrations for legislators and regulators. House Resolution 6352 proposes redirecting 85% of the $200 tax on silencers to conservation funding, a potential $200 million windfall. It's Tuesday, May 28th A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 11 pastors jailed in Nicaragua Eleven evangelical pastors are in jail in Nicaragua and a warrant is out for the arrest of a U.S. missionary named Jon Hancock, reports International Christian Concern.  Six countries -- including Cuba, Venezuela, Ecuador, Brazil, Honduras, and Mexico -- have also agreed to extradite the missionary if arrested. At issue is a nationwide revival that occurred in association with the Mountain Gateway evangelical outreach.  A million people heard the Christian Gospel at eight events in 2023. Unbelievably, the pastors face 12-15 years in prison for their participation in the revivals.  And now, 58 members of the U.S. Congress signed a bipartisan letter addressed to the Ambassador of Nicaragua, expressing alarm over Nicaragua's violations of religious freedom. Additionally, House Resolution 1019, also introduced in February, expresses concern “that United States citizens affiliated with the Mountain Gateway ministry are being targeted for arrest and extradition by the Nicaraguan government.” Pray for the Christian pastors incarcerated in Nicaragua today. New Guinea landslide kills 2,000 A massive landslide in New Guinea may have taken the lives of as many as 2,000 people, reports the Post-Courier. The landslide destroyed most of Tulipana Village in Enga Province, at 3:00 am on Friday morning. This marks the deadliest natural disaster in the world for 2024 thus far.  Olympics spotlight drag queens The 2024 Paris Summer Olympics will feature three drag queens hoisting the Olympic torch. It's all in accord with the Olympic theme this year which is “Games Wide Open.” The International Olympic Committee has agreed to remove testing restrictions for male competitors who are pretending to be women. That  means any man can call himself a woman and compete in 38 out of 48 women's categories. The Olympic site is boasting of “full gender equality” this year. Paris Mayor Anne Hidalgo affirmed that “I am proud and, yes, Paris is proud, that a drag queen will carry the torch and the values of peace and humanity.” Blue states' low fertility rates The lowest fertility rates in the United States of America are now found in blue states, known for their leftist leanings, according to recent data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Vermont is the lowest at 1.35 children per woman, followed by Oregon and New Hampshire.  The blue states of Colorado, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island range between 1.4 and 1.5. Overall, the U.S. fertility rate is now 1.62, down from 3.6 in 1960. More potheads than lushes There are now more daily or near daily users of marijuana in the United States than daily users of alcohol.   Since 1992, the number of marijuana daily users has increased from 900,000 to 17.7 million.  Alcohol daily users have increased from 9 million to 14.7 million over the same time period. At this point, 74% of Americans live in states that have legalized pot. U.S. tornadoes and storms killed 21 In God's providence, more tornadoes and severe storms killed another 21 people in the U.S. over the weekend. Nearly 100 were injured and seven killed in a powerful tornado that struck near the Texas-Oklahoma border.  This is reported to be the most active tornado season in seven years, with 442 tornadoes so far reported for the month of May, according to Fox News.  Walmart pushes sexual perversion Some say, “Go Woke. Go Broke.” But now, Walmart has opened up its “Pride Always” line of products in commemoration of what has become known as June Pride Month.   A recent Fox News report pointed out that Target is pulling back on its Pride celebration, while Walmart is advancing the Pride agenda. “Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” That's Proverbs 16:18. Randall Terry is Constitution Party presidential nominee Former Operation Rescue director, Randall Terry, is the Constitution Party's nominee for the 2024 presidential race. The pro-life activist declared, “The Democrats are running ON child killing.  The Republicans are running AWAY from child killing. We are running AT child killing, to END child killing!” However, the Constitution Party has never done better than 0.2% of the vote, and 0.04% of the vote in 2020.  According to its website, the Constitution Party is on the ballot in 12 states and is petitioning to be on more. In 2022, the party made it on the ballot in 15 states, including the battleground states of Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Homosexual activist clinches Libertarian presidential nomination And finally, Chase Oliver, a homosexual and political activist, won the Libertarian Party nomination for President over the weekend, reports CNN. He beat out former President Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr., both attempting to secure the Libertarian vote. Kennedy received 19 votes and Trump received six. Chase Oliver received 497 votes in the final tally or 60%. He  supports the legalization of killing unborn babies and he is campaigning to abolish the death penalty for those who commit murder. Proverbs 17:15 reminds us that “He who justifies the wicked and he who condemns the righteous are both alike an abomination to the LORD.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, May 28th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. I don't care about laws on the border. Anybody that wants to come across and plant a flag has the right to do so.” Those conversations happen. (10:16) • It's not Morgan representing the entire country. It's Morgan representing District 8. (13:10) We create appropriations bills, and appropriations bills fund the government. (57:26)  • It can get interesting on the committees. (61:16) • I tried never to get hit in my blind spot. I tell my staff: “Don't ever let me get caught off guard. I don't want to embarrass the district.” (61:30) • I want House Resolution 2, the Border Bill to come across from the senate. And I want this to be signed by the President, so we can enforce it. That's primary goal #1. (65:22) • [Melanie] Q: How long do you see yourself as a congressman? [Morgan] A: 3 terms. (66:17) • They chose me, and I'm doing my absolute best to widen the road that those went before me paved. (68:25) • After I leave - if somebody was to say anything about me, the response that I'd be honored to hear would be “I wish he was still here.” (70:12)

With a majority of Americans opposing further US involvement in the Israel/Gaza conflict, President Biden is finding that within his own Democratic Party support for his approach is even softer. Younger voters are solidly opposed to further US support for Israel's continued assault on Gaza. That is why while Biden's initial reaction tracked more closely with his neocon views, he is furiously backpedaling under pressure from his own party. Also today: Rep. Massie is the lone "no" vote on another anti-free speech House Resolution.

It's Friday, January 13th, A.D. 2023. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Three Chinese Christian leaders detained on trumped up charges since August A church in China's Shaanxi Province has expressed concerns for the wellbeing of its three leaders, who have been held in secret detention over trumped-up fraud allegations since August 2022, reports Christian Solidarity Worldwide. In a January 4th open letter, published by Xi'an Church of Abundance, family members revealed that they had received no news about Pastor Lian Changnian, his son Pastor Lian Xuliang and co-worker Ms. Fu Juan, who are currently being held in ‘Residential Surveillance at a Designated Location'. Police in the Xi'an, Shaanxi province, have denied all three access to their lawyers on the grounds that they are suspected of “endangering national security.” In John 15:18, Jesus said, “If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated Me first.” GOP Congress protects babies who survive botched abortions In one of the first acts of the new Congress, the Republican-led U.S. House of Representatives secured legal protections for babies born alive after botched abortions, reports LifeSiteNews.com. The House voted 220-210 on Wednesday, January 11th to pass H.R. 26, also known as the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act,” which had been introduced in the House on January 9th.  It would amend Title 18 of the United States Code in order “to prohibit a health care practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.” To his great credit, Democrat Congressman Henry Cuellar of South Texas was the only Democrat who voted along with every Republican to protect these babies who survive botched abortions.  To thank Cuellar, call him at 202-225-1640. And Democrat Congressman Vicente Gonzalez of Texas voted present. For years, former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had refused to even introduce the bill on the House floor for a vote. While the vote signals strong pro-life sentiment among the Republican majority in the House, the measure is unlikely to progress in the Democrat-controlled Senate. According to the legislation, if an abortion fails and “results in the live birth of an infant, the infant is a legal person for all purposes under the laws of the United States and entitled to all the protections of such laws.” While federal law does provide protections for babies born after botched abortions, the measure would specifically require healthcare practitioners to treat such babies like “any newborn, or for any person who comes to a hospital, clinic, or other facility for screening and treatment or otherwise becomes a patient within its care.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Democrat leader: Protecting babies who survive botched abortions is “extreme” Sadly, the House's vote to pass the “Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act” came despite vehement opposition from pro-abortion Democrats. Democrat House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries of New York, who replaced Nancy Pelosi after she stepped down from the role last year, complained that the bill to protect babies born alive after failed abortions was part of “a march towards criminalizing abortion care, a nationwide ban.” Listen to the outrageous opposition of this self-proclaimed Baptist as he speaks on behalf of the Democrat Caucus. JEFFRIES: “We believe in Roe v. Wade. You wonder about our position? That's it. Freedom to make your own reproductive health care decisions. That's it. As compared to a march toward criminalizing abortion care, a nationwide ban, government-mandated pregnancies, part of an extreme [Make America Great Again] Republican agenda.” During floor speeches on Wednesday, Democrats repeatedly played into the hands of their opponents by disturbingly defending late-term abortion and conflating the treatment for miscarriage with abortion. In one instance, Democrat Congresswoman Frederica Wilson of Miami, Florida made her pitch for killing babies who survived botched abortions by suggesting that Republicans want to prevent women from getting proper care in the event of miscarriages. During her speech, she showed a chart that depicted a fully formed unborn infant in his mother's womb.  (Make sure to click on the link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com) House condemns attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches In a second pro-life initiative, the Republican-led House voted to pass House Resolution 1233 which condemned the recent attacks on pro-life facilities, groups, and churches. The House referenced the fire bombings, vandalism, and violent threats lodged against pro-life pregnancy centers and places of worship since the draft of the Dobbs decision was initially leaked on May 2, 2022. The resolution provides a long list of attacks on pro-life establishments and churches, and ends with a condemnation of the assaults, a recognition of the sanctity of life, and a call to action for the Biden administration to “uphold public safety and to protect the rights of pro-life facilities, groups, and churches.” The Biden administration has faced consistent pressure from pro-life groups to appropriately investigate the attacks and threats against pregnancy centers and churches. While the Biden Department of Justice has aggressively prosecuted pro-life activists, even sending armed agents to arrest them at their homes in front of their children, it has been far less assertive in pursuing investigations against those who have attacked and threatened pro-lifers. The inaction on the part of federal law enforcement has led some pro-lifers to hire their own detectives to investigate the attacks, reports LifeSiteNews. Lisa Marie Presley died at 54 And finally, Lisa Marie Presley, the only daughter of legendary rock icon Elvis Presley and actress Priscilla, was unable to survive “full cardiac arrest” on Thursday, reports The Daily Mail. The 54-year-old was discovered unresponsive by a housekeeper, with sources saying her first husband, Danny Keough, returned to the house they were sharing and performed CPR until paramedics arrived. EMTs were able to resuscitate her and rush her to a local hospital, where she was ultimately pronounced dead. While writing the foreword for Harry Nelson's book – The United States of Opioids: A Prescription for Liberating a Nation in Pain – she opened up for the first time about her addiction to painkillers, opioids and cocaine.  She married four times including to Michael Jackson. Lisa Marie Presley was “devastated” when she lost her son Benjamin Keough - who was 27 - in 2020 after he shot himself in an apparent suicide. She joined the Scientology cult in 1977, just after her father, Elvis' death.  And she remained in that religion through 2014. In John 14:6, Jesus said, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Friday, January 13th, in the year of our Lord 2023. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. Mayorkas Texas Republican Rep. Pat Fallon has filed impeachment articles against Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, delivering on a promise he made last week before the 118th Congress was officially sworn in. The articles of impeachment against Mayorkas for "high crimes and misdemeanors," known as House Resolution 8, were introduced by Fallon in the House on Monday and have been referred to the House Judiciary Committee. Last week, Fallon vowed to file impeachment articles against Mayorkas after the Congress was sworn in. The effort from Republicans in the House is one of many that the new GOP majority will take as it works to fight the Biden administration on issues related to immigration and the southern border crisis. While there is currently no text available for the impeachment articles filed against Mayorkas, Fox News reported last week that Fallon's first article alleges that Mayorkas has failed to faithfully execute the "Secure the Fence Act of 2006." The article says that law requires the secretary of Homeland Security to "maintain operational control over the entire international land and maritime borders of the United States." The second article alleges that Mayorkas, "in violation of his constitutional oath, willfully provided perjurious, false, and misleading testimony to Congress." To back up that charge, the article quotes Mayorkas' testimony during April 26 and Nov. 15 congressional hearings in which he said the border was secure. The final of the three articles charges that Mayorkas "publicly and falsely slandered" border agents who were accused – but later cleared – of whipping Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas, in 2021. Mayorkas on Sunday said he will not resign over his handling of the border crisis and insisted he will be ready for future investigations by House Republicans while continuing to fulfill his daily responsibilities. https://dailycaller.com/2023/01/10/kevin-mccarthy-adam-schiff-eric-swalwell-ilhan-omar-committees/ Reps. Adam Schiff, Eric Swalwell, Ilhan Omar To Officially Be Kicked Off Intelligence, Foreign Affairs Committees Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy confirmed Monday night that Democratic California Reps. Adam Schiff and Eric Swalwell will be removed from the House Intelligence Committee and the House will vote on the removal of Minnesota Rep. Ilhan Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee. In February, McCarthy told the Daily Caller that if he is elected Speaker that he intends to strip Omar from the Foreign Affairs Committee and Swalwell and Schiff from the Intelligence Committee. On Monday, McCarthy confirmed to The Associated Press (AP) that he would be moving forward with that decision, saying both Swalwell and Schiff should not have seats on the committee. McCarthy has said Swalwell’s reported relationship with a Chinese spy and Schiff’s defense of the Steele dossier are some of the reasons they should be removed from the committee. McCarthy has said Omar’s anti-Semitism is a reason she should be removed from Foreign Affairs. “Swalwell can’t get a security clearance in the private sector. I’m not going to give him a government security clearance. Schiff has lied to the American public…,” McCarthy told The AP. The Daily Caller contacted Swalwell, Schiff, and Omar’s offices about McCarthy’s decision to move forward and have them removed from committee assignments to which they did not immediately respond. https://thepostmillennial.com/breaking-andrew-tate-to-remain-in-romanian-jail-after-losing-appeal?utm_campaign=64487 Andrew Tate to remain in Romanian jail after losing appeal Former kickboxer and controversial social media personality Andrew Tate lost his appeal against not being held for 30 days at a Romanian detention center. Andrew, along with his brother Tristan, were detained last month pending a criminal investigation into alleged human trafficking and organizing a crime group. A document from the judge who instated the 30-day detention wrote that "the possibility of them evading investigations cannot be ignored" and the suspects could "leave Romania and settle in countries that do not allow extradition," reports Mirror. "In this sense, I would like to point out, at least from this point of view, I am also somehow amazed, there is not a single piece of evidence apart from the victim's statement that leads to the idea that a crime of rape was committed. In my view, there is no evidence to the formation of an opinion of reasonable suspicion regarding the commission of offenses provided for and punishable by criminal law. In this case we are talking about human trafficking and organized crime," said the Tate brothers' lawyer Eugen Vidineac. https://thepostmillennial.com/oregon-pledges-to-affirm-sex-changes-for-kids-as-reading-proficiency-plummets?utm_campaign=64487 Oregon pledges to affirm sex changes for kids as reading proficiency plummets On Thursday, the Oregon Department of Education released guidance for schools to better support "Gender Expansive Students" that include bathroom and pronoun policies aligned with radical gender ideology and include links for minors to seek "gender-affirming healthcare" LibsofTikTok posted "Oregon Dept of Education released new guidelines on affirming LGBTQ+ students. They promote the use of pronouns, using bathrooms based on gender identity, and support 'gender affirming care' for minors. It also provides links to kids with info on 'tucking' & 'chest binding'." Oregon Department of Education Director Colt Gill said, "It is our responsibility to move beyond mere tolerance and inclusion toward respectful, affirming, and celebratory school communities where all students belong and succeed." The new guidance comes as a growing number of Oregon students are falling behind in their reading proficiency. According to Oregon Live, "A staggering 61 percent of third graders and 54 percent of seventh graders aren’t fully proficient at reading, including 30 percent of seventh-graders found to be substantially below grade level" in the Beaver State. The measures of success according to the guidance include telling students, "You have the ability to change your first name in your school record and student information system, without legal documentation" and "You have the ability to change your sex/gender marker in your school record and student information system." "You have the ability to use school restrooms and changing rooms that align with your gender identity or safety needs," according to the guidance. The guidance also includes informing students they can "date who you want, if you want" and can form student groups focused on LGBTQ2SIA+. The plan offers textbooks and guidance to students so they can learn "inclusive and affirming information about the LGBTQ2SIA+" community and inform the students they can participate in "sports, PE, and school activities according to your gender identity." "If you are 15 or older, you have the ability to seek gender-affirming healthcare from an Oregon medical provider," according to the list of resources, which also remind students they can seek mental health resources if they are 14 or over and get birth control if they are "any age." The guidance provides a detailed list instructing students where they can receive "gender affirming care" that includes details on "tucking" and "chest binding." The recent guidance release is part of Oregon's larger LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan that was developed in 2020 "amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic." The final of the three articles charges that Mayorkas "publicly and falsely slandered" border agents who were accused – but later cleared – of whipping Haitian migrants in Del Rio, Texas, in 2021. The plan offers textbooks and guidance to students so they can learn "inclusive and affirming information about the LGBTQ2SIA+" community and inform the students they can participate in "sports, PE, and school activities according to your gender identity." "If you are 15 or older, you have the ability to seek gender-affirming healthcare from an Oregon medical provider," according to the list of resources, which also remind students they can seek mental health resources if they are 14 or over and get birth control if they are "any age." The guidance provides a detailed list instructing students where they can receive "gender affirming care" that includes details on "tucking" and "chest binding." The recent guidance release is part of Oregon's larger LGBTQ2SIA+ Student Success Plan that was developed in 2020 "amidst the global COVID-19 pandemic."
