A Journey Through History Rome's history spans over 2,000 years, making it one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. From its legendary founding by Romulus and Remus to its evolution into the capital of the mighty Roman Empire, the city has played a pivotal role in shaping Western civilization. Rome is a treasure trove of architectural marvels that showcase the skill and creativity of generations past. The Colosseum, an imposing amphitheater, symbolizes ancient Roman engineering and entertainment. Its grandeur and the stories of gladiators and epic battles that once took place within its walls continue to inspire awe. If you are taking a tour, book the ground flour tour. You will need half a day to explore the Colosseum.Another architectural gem is the Pantheon, a feat of engineering and design with its perfectly preserved dome and oculus. Originally built as a temple to honor the gods, the Pantheon's dome remains the largest unreinforced concrete dome in the world, a testament to the ingenuity of Roman architects. It is a quick visit and larger than most expect!Architectural MarvelsAnother exciting spot is Largo di Torre Argentina, where Julius Caesar was assassinated. Also known as the Area Sacra, this area is a large sunken square containing the ruins of four ancient temples and the Curia of Pompey. Area Sacra is another quick visit. For more historical sites, visit the Victor Emmanuel II National Monument and the Forum and Palatine Hill. The Victor Emmanuel II National Monument is a large national monument built between 1885 and 1935 to honor Victor Emmanuel II, the first king of a unified Italy. The iconic Roman Forum, a sprawling archaeological site, offers a glimpse into ancient Rome's political, social, and religious life. Walking through these ancient ruins, one can almost hear the echoes of the past and imagine the grandeur of the empire that once ruled a vast expanse of the world. The Forum and Palatine Hill are where you can find Octavian's (also known as Ceaser Agustus) house, the imperial palace, and where Romulus, the founder of Rome, lived. You will need a full day or two to explore the vast area has a multitude of history. All the churches in Rome are spectacular. You can walk into any for a beautiful historical and moving site. A favorite church in Rome was Sant'Ignazio of Loyola Church.Vatican City: A Spiritual CenterNestled within the city of Rome, Vatican City is the smallest independent state in the world and the spiritual epicenter of the Roman Catholic Church. Home to the awe-inspiring St. Peter's Basilica and the Vatican Museums, this tiny enclave is a pilgrimage site for millions of faithful and art enthusiasts.St. Peter's Basilica, with its imposing dome and breathtaking interior, is a masterpiece of Renaissance architecture. The Vatican Museums house an extraordinary collection of art and artifacts amassed by the Catholic Church over centuries, including Michelangelo's stunning frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel.Remember, you must walk up the dome about 500 stairs to get to the top of St. Peter's Basilica. Pay a bit extra to take the elevator or wear comfy shoes because you still need to walk 300 stairs even with taking the elevator. Don't forget to tour the Sistine Chapel. With all its facets, you can spend as little as one and as many as three days at the Vatican. They have self-guided and private tours. Don't forget to book entry & all tours. The Art If you are a lover of "Arte," the Borghese art museum is a must-see. Here, explore the works of Raphael, such as Young Woman with Unicorn, and works by Caravaggio. This museum is also one of the few sites where you don't need to pre-book or get a guide. However, the museum only allows a certain number of people each hour.Culinary DelightsItalian cuisine is renowned worldwide, and Rome is no exception. From classic pasta dishes like carbonara and cacio e pepe to mouth-watering pizzas and gelato, the city's culinary scene is a delight for the senses. Trattorias and osterias line the charming cobblestone streets, offering a chance to savor authentic flavors passed down through generations. Our top picks for all things “buonissimo” are Tempio di Bacco, Gallura. Tempio di Bacco is a delicious local spot where the owner is quite friendly. Gallura is outstanding dining with a modern twist. Don't forget to stop for gelato.Exploring the NeighborhoodsRome's neighborhoods each have a unique character and charm. With its narrow streets and colorful buildings, Trastevere exudes a bohemian atmosphere. The Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain are located in the charming area of Piazza di Spagna. The Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps are gorgeous. At the top of the Spanish Steps, The Church of the Santissima Trinità dei Monti can be found. At the same time, the historic Jewish Ghetto offers a glimpse into a lesser-known facet of Rome's history. Where to StayBook a room at the Westin Excelsior Rome for the perfect stay when in Rome. Should You Visit Rome?Rome, Italy, is a city that encapsulates the essence of human achievement, creativity, and endurance. From its ancient ruins to its modern-day vibrancy, every corner of Rome tells a story of the past and present. Tightrope Winery was born out of a recognition that balance is the ultimate goal, both in wine & in life! After growing up in Southern Ontario Graham trekked across the country and spent a few years enjoying the outdoor life that Whistler, B.C. has to offer by skiing, mountain biking, playing rugby, and meeting his future wife carving the snowy slopes and sipping fine wines. Having grown up in British Columbia Lyndsay has been aware of the fine grape growing conditions the Okanagan Valley has to offer since the onset of her own wine passion. Once the couple had their first child they decided that the environment of the Okanagan would be ideal for cultivating a family as well as their dream of a winery. Initiating a formal education on the subject of how to best cultivate the vines that produce the wines they love, they discovered that the vineyard life and winemaking were passions that they shared and wished to further pursue in their life together. The growing family relocated to New Zealand for a more advanced and thorough education on this subject that has proven to be their life-focus.Having attained honours degrees in both oenology and viticulture while studying in New Zealand at Lincoln University, Lyndsay and Graham made a welcome return to the Okanagan Valley, settling on the Naramata Bench in 2007. Since that time both have been hard at work honing their skills and practicing their trade, enabling that they can excel in their chosen profession. Lyndsay has traded in her snowboarding boots for a pair of Wellies, and was been an outstanding, award-winning winemaker for the Ruby Blues Winery along the Naramata Bench from 2009 to 2014. In 2012 and 2014 Ruby Blues won the Lieutenant Governor's Award for their 2011 and 2013 Viognier. Lyndsay has now turned her focus to Tightrope Winery full time and continues to craft award winning wines in the new Tightrope facility! After their return to Canada, Graham went to work for Mission Hill Winery as one of their lead viticulturists. Managing numerous acres of different varietals successfully through many seasons allowed Graham to put into practice those hours of study, and he has stowed the mountain bike in the garage in favour of overalls and a tractor. 2012 saw Graham leave Mission Hill to focus on the O'Rourke's own 10-acre property along the Naramata Bench at Fleet Road.Walking the tightrope of a life-in-balance, in her free time Lyndsay enjoys training for the triathlons that are hosted in the region, while Graham still sports his rugby cap once in a while. The Fleet Road Vineyard, in addition to the vines, is now growing not one, but two fantastic boys! A variety of family pets can also be found on the farm and are sure to be seen on the next Vineyard Dogs of the Okanagan Calendar!Lyndsay and Graham look forward to sharing with you their enthusiasm and life-long dedication to wines that are worth walking a tightrope for.Tightrope Winery is a small, family-run, sustainable winery on the Naramata Bench. A true labour of love for owners Graham (viticulturist) and Lyndsay O'Rourke (winemaker). Our vineyards on the Naramata bench Naramata Bench are farmed sustainably to make hand-crafted wines with artistry and passion. Our wines capture the soul of Naramata - the personality, character, culture and fruit of "the Bench."

Brussels is not just known for these things but for some of the BEST things - waffles, chocolate, beer, and fries. You can find all of these treats in abundance in Brussels. There are also many traditional Belgian restaurants that serve dishes such as steak tartare, mussels, and French fries.Fun fact - what we Americans refer to as French fries actually originated in Belgium. So we should be calling them BELGIAN fries…. although that doesn't have the same ring as French fries, does it? Brussels has something to offer to everyone! Here are some of the top things to do in the city.Visit the Grand Place: It is one of the most iconic attractions in Brussels. This large public square is surrounded by stunning baroque buildings filled with cafes, restaurants, and shops. The Grand Place is also home to the daily flower market, which is a great spot to pick up some souvenirs.Walk the Parc Du Cinquantenaire: this stunning park has a U-shaped complex made up of two museums - the Auto World Vintage Car Museum and the Royal Museum of the Armed Forces and Military History. This structure was built in 1880 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Belgian independence. Tour the Atomium and Mini-Europe: The Atomium is a giant model of an iron crystal that was built for the 1958 World's Fair. It stands 102 meters high and is a popular attraction in Brussels. You can take an elevator to the top and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. It was one of my favorite sites! And you can also tour Mini-Europe, which is right next to the Atomium. You get a tour of reproductions of the most famous monuments of each country in the EU. Explore the Cathedrals: Brussels is home to several beautiful cathedrals, including the Notre Dame du Sablon, Saint Michel, Notre Dame du Finistère, and the National Basilica of the Sacred Heart in Koekelberg. These churches offer a stunning display of Gothic architecture and are a must-see for any visitor. One of the things I love about Brussels is the train/bus/tram system. It feels similar to the underground in London or the subway in NYC. It's so easy to get around the city with public transportation! These are just a few of the top things to do in Brussels. With so much to explore, you're sure to find something that will make your trip to Brussels an unforgettable one.

The seeds for Patz & Hall were planted in the 1980s when assistant winemaker James Hall and national sales manager Donald Patz struck up a close friendship while working together at Flora Springs Winery and Vineyards. The two discovered a mutual enthusiasm for a rich and compelling style of wine made by applying traditional winemaking techniques to fruit from elite, small vineyards. Inspired to combine their winemaking and sales talents, James and Donald joined with partners Anne Moses and Heather Patz, to establish Patz & Hall. Together, they turned Patz & Hall into one of California's most highly regarded wineries with a celebrated portfolio of single-vineyard wines. To achieve their goal of making exceptional limited-production wines from Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, the four founders each focused their specialized knowledge and expertise on different areas of the winery's operations. This integrated approach, along with a commitment to developing close personal relationships with many of California's finest growers—people like Larry Hyde, Lee Hudson and the Martinelli and Pisoni families—became the cornerstones of the winery's success.

Produciamo vini in modo naturale.Usiamo solo trattamenti biologici e biodinamici.

South Bay Coverboy, Richard Podgurski Jr., sauces out with The Chrises during a break from training his camera towards Butterball turkey stardom on Supermarket Sweep. When Richard is not adorning bare walled abodes with his stunning snapshots or raising $15,000 for community causes, the Oracle of the Internet is keeping Tahoe nude and chain linking with Keyboard Karens. Portland's favourite sneaker-hands, DJ Dik, gives an IG Live exclusive sneak peek at his unreleased, limited edition, custom Vans slip-on shoes. Shelby, the Turtle Leash tortoise influencer, escapes from the I Dunno Dude Pod's Pad to eat all the tasty plants, and she saves the planet with her valuable life lesson: always be happy and in the moment. The Chrises engage in the NewlyWed game with the freshly married and divorced couple, Elyse Eisen and Roger Sachar. Roger warms the cockles of Elyse's heart with a famous Mozart rift and a funky chicken dance. Whilst in the midst of their shack up spring training, the royal duo perseveres through a few squabbles over raising a kid as a Yankees or Dodgers fan and living in Manhattan or Brooklyn. The yankee impersonator reasons that no one resides in alphabet city, like no one runs backwards naked through a cornfield. As Roger shows he is not a pushover, Elyse has the cops called on her multiple times for marching to the beat of her own drum.
