In this episode, we explore the dangers of operating with guile. It's important to understand what guile truly is—and to avoid it at all costs. In the Bible, guile refers to deceit, cunning, and dishonesty. It is often contrasted with the virtue of being without guile, which reflects innocence, honesty, and integrity. To be ruthlessly honest with ourselves and others is to live free of guile.Definitions: Guile: insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception; duplicity. Deceit: the action or practice of deceiving someone by concealing or misrepresenting the truth.Scriptures:Gen. 27, Gen. 25:31-34, Gen. 3:1-3Psalm 24:3-5Prov. 26:24-26I Peter 2:1-3, I Peter 2:21-24John 1:45-49Mark 7:21-23Matt. 15:18Jesus considered that absence of guile to be remarkable, presumably because itis so rare. We must cry out like the psalmist in Psalm 120:2, "Deliver my soul, O Lord, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue". Interested in a Bible study? We would love to hear from you! And how can we experience consistent happiness — not just on Sundays, but every day?Join Pastor Webster as he unpacks: The true Biblical meaning of a “pure heart” Why happiness and holiness go hand-in-hand How sin begins in the heart before it shows in behavior Practical examples of how unclean thoughts corrupt our lives What David, Solomon, and Jesus all taught about heart purity
Send us a textIn this episode, I share some thoughts on a topic dear to my heart. I am very excited about it because it is about the heart! All that I am learning about and experiencing relates to my current direction in life, which is an adventure in becoming a Certified Life Coach centered on the heart. I have never considered being a Life Coach before, yet a few months ago, I got a strong impression that this is what I need to do, so here I am, taking another step in my faith journey. Since starting this program, I've learned so much about heart connections, not only to my heart but also to others. This knowledge helps me recognize how to be more in tune with my feelings and intuition. In Baptist De Pape's book "The Power of the Heart," I read:"Our very first heartbeat begins spontaneously."…”The beating starts the moment that specialized heart cells form and multiply in the fetus. The cells beat even before the whole heart has formed. And they beat in unison." Knowing that the heart is the first organ to develop before any other parts or organs of the body is exciting. This tiny vital organ has a rhythmic beat that continues to grow, becoming a big part of our bodies' development.Neal Donald Walsch said: "The beat of your heart is the energy of life itself.”…"The secret of the human heart is that it contains not only your identity but God's, wrapped up in one." Many scriptures refer to a heart. One of them comes from the Bible in the book of Mathew 5:8Jesus said: "Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God." - Matthew 5:8What does it mean to Have a Pure Heart? Have you ever wondered about having a pure heart, dear listener? Here is an answer for me and perhaps for you: A pure heart is charity. It means I am forgiving, patient, and not critical or judgmental of others. It means I look at others with compassion and grace, the way Jesus looks at me. When I know I am in that space, of having a pure heart, I am willing to connect and understand others. Robin Johnson, my mentor and coaching instructor, wrote a book titled "The Heart of the Gospel," which beautifully describes the five states of the heart. Here are the descriptions of the five hearts:A Hardened Heart - is a heart of anger, hate, malice, pride, animosity, judgment, absence of love, and hurting others.A Broken Heart - A heart of grief, sadness, wounded, anguished, depressed, lonely, heavy and in pain.A Disconnected Heart - A heart of numbness, fear, emotionlessness, pain avoidance, apathy, and no passion for life.A Faint Heart - is weary from life's challenges, depleted, disheartened, hopeless, exhausted. A Pure Heart - is the Heart of Christ, a heart in a state of oneness: One with self, God, and humanity. It is a heart of charity, grace, forgiveness, compassion, joy, and acceptance. In closing of the message, I share one of my compositions, "In My Heart."www.kasiasmusic.comwww.kasiasfaithjourney.comhttps://www.facebook.com/kasiasfaithjourney/

Lifeway Research, the marketing and data arm of Lifeway Publishers, has just published what they have identified as the top trends - both good and bad - in ministry within 2025.The list is very interesting but it becomes even more interesting when we consider it through the eyes of one of the valley's most dominant youth pastors, John Spooner from Pure Heart Church. John, who married Samantha, a NCS alum, is spearheading both Junior High and Senior High at a church that works exceptionally hard to speak to the needs of those experiencing brokenness. For more info on the Lifeway survey and the trends, follow this link.To get more information on the amazing youth ministry at Pure Heart Church, please follow this link. I'm nearly certain that today's Kingdom Culture Conversation is the first conversation we have published that includes the word "sexiness".Uh-oh? Woops? Did we miss an edit? No. In today's Kingdom Culture Conversation, Pure Heart's Dondi Rodriguez has an epic mic drop moment in which he powerfully and memorably illustrates a Christian's call to reach their neighbor. He also makes two or three powerful points regarding Psalm 23. Again, mic dropping moments. So, where does the "sexiness" come in?You're going to have to listen to find out... Kyle and David explore what the "heart" is in the Biblical imagination, and how God wants to renew and cleanse our inner being.
In this message, Pastor Marco begins our annual SEEK series by teaching on James 4:8. We learn that God requires clean hands and a pure heart but only Jesus truly possesses these attributes. The closer we draw to Jesus the more He makes us like Him.

The church at Thessalonica is told to not do sex like the people who don't know God. Paul had previously instructed them to control their bodies in holiness and honor. We attempt to unearth the weapons that they would have used to exercise body control.
The word “love” is in common usage these days, but the way it is used and the meaning given to it, is so different to its' use in the Bible! Paul has “urged (Timothy) … remain at Ephesus that you may charge certain persons not to teach any different doctrine” [1 Tim. 1 v.3]. Paul advises him of the “stewardship from God that is by faith” adding “the aim of our charge is love that issues from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith” [v.4,5] Those 3 phrases are the vital components our lives must possess and use if we really desire to live our lives in the service of our Lord Jesus and the Father with the anticipation of an utterly wondrous future in God's kingdom.. The ‘oil' that makes the ‘engine' of our minds function in the way God approves must operate from a “pure heart” – do we understand what kind of heart this is? Is this impossible for normal humans? We notice the Greek word here is quite often translated as ‘clean' Jesus told his disciples, “You are clean because of the word that I have spoken to you. Abide in me, and I in you.” [John 15 v.3,4] It is the word of God, rightly and humbly used, which cleanses our hearts to make and keep them pure. We recall David's impassioned Psalm after his grievous sins; “Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me,” [51 v.10] A clean heart is the foundation for a “good conscience” and a faith that is “sincere”. Paul tells Timothy that some at Ephesus “by swerving from these, have wandered away into vain discussion …” [v.6] We live in a world of much “vain discussion” which lacks the essential foundation of “love that issues from a pure heart” One of the subjects some discuss and debate is the role of women and this was a factor at Ephesus. But notice how Paul advises Timothy to teach them, “Let the women learn quietly and with all submissiveness. I do not permit a woman to teach or to exercise authority over a man” [2 v.11,12] When Paul wrote his Epistle to them he emphasized this point – see Ephesians chap. 5 v.22-24. Paul hopes to come to Ephesus, but says, “I am writing these things to you so that, if I delay, you may know how one ought to behave in the household of God, which is the church of the living God …” [3 v.14,15] All who are part of this church (the assemblies of true believers) will be very conscious of Paul's words and therefore readily work at developing and maintaining the “love that issues from a pure heart.”

A prayer based on Proverbs 22:11. I have a boy with big feelings—HUGE feelings—and anxiety that tricks him into thinking some of his feelings are true when they actually aren't. To keep his heart pure, the Holy Spirit continually helps him focus on the truth, we often recite Philippians 4:8 together, “Finally brothers whatever is true, whatever is honorable, for whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.” Are there lies your children believe about themselves that you can help them combat with the truth of scripture? Our hearts need to be continually and intentionally fixed on God, because He is the only one who can truly purify and restore. Our God sees the state of humanity's broken, sinful hearts, but He does not ask us to fix ourselves before coming to Him. King David understood the importance of having a purified heart, because it is only then that we will be able to see God the most fully. In 1 Chronicles 29:18, in a prayer David asks God to "...keep these desires and thoughts in the hearts of your people forever, and keep their hearts loyal to you" (NIV). This prayer is one that Christ followers should more often repeat, as the tendency of our hearts is not to lean towards righteousness. Only when the hearts of our nation are pure is when our civil government will be pleasing in the eyes of God and a blessing to us as citizens. Thankfully, all God asks of us is the humility to lay down our sin before Him and ask for a purified heart, and He will take care of the rest.
