On this very special episode of the Growing with Purpose podcast, I sit down with Hamsa Yaqo, formerly the Executive Director of the Small Giants Community, and now a board member. Hamsa is also the Co-Founder of Kintsugi Village, a non-profit hub in Detroit that will provide a childhood education center, artist incubator, culinary kitchen, and more to the local community.  Many of you likely know Hamsa as the bright, caring leader who helmed the Small Giants Community operations for nearly a decade. But you may not know about her previous time in the education and tech sectors, as well as her journey with her family from Iraq to the US when she was 12 years old. All of these experiences have shaped Hamsa into the leader she is today; ready to embark on a new journey in the non-profit space and give back to a city that she loves. Listen to this episode to hear Hamsa and I discuss what it was like for her to be the eldest child of an immigrant family, how learning a new language in a new country made her resourceful, the tough lessons she's learned as a leader, and so much more.    Show Notes: 3:32 - A serendipitous Small Giants journey 5:45 - Moving fast at Mango Languages 10:05 - A childhood on the move 20:06 - Building bonds in academia  29:10 - Areas for improvement 34:18 - “You have to enjoy what you do”

On this episode of the Growing with Purpose podcast, host Paul Spiegelman speaks with Heidi Baumgart, COO of Skidmore Studio, a 65-year-old branding firm.    As an only child growing up in rural Ohio, Heidi observed generations of her family work hard to build their businesses, be it a dairy farm or a home renovation business. She took these values with her through her academic career, and into her first job after college at an advertising agency. Soon enough, though, when Heidi and her now-husband were planning their wedding, she pivoted her career to run her own events planning business for five years, which she claims has heavily informed every role she's had since. Heidi's pivoted her career since then, first into marketing leadership, and most recently into people management, which is allowing her to live her purpose of helping humans flourish.    Tune in to this episode to hear Heidi and Paul discuss Skidmore's strong remote work culture, the influence of the Small Giants Community Summit on Heidi's career journey, and their shared optimism about young people entering the workforce.    Show Notes: 5:05 - Building a better culture through remote work 12:30 - Growing up with elbow grease 15:40 - Transferring skills into entrepreneurship  17:05 - The Small Giants Community influence  23:40 - Skidmore's devotion to values 32:23 - Heidi's advice for young people

In fact, for a long time he didn't know where he wanted his career to take him. His prior path stretched from coast to coast of the US, and involved time as a teacher and soccer coach at a boarding school, completing an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Iowa, and working in the burn unit of a hospital. Eventually, Eric picked up a defunct moving business from a friend, and built it up over time. It wasn't until 2020, when co-owners Cliff and Emily Wallace opened a new branch in Des Moines, and the pandemic saw a boom to the moving industry, that Adamantine grew at an exponential rate. But with growth comes challenges, and Eric and his team had to evaluate how they'd scale while still maintaining their culture and values.    Tune in to this episode to hear Eric and Paul discuss Adamantine's efforts to be an ecologically-conscious business, takeaways from participating in the Small Giants Community's Leadership Academy, and the challenges Eric faces as the leader of a growing company.    Show Notes: 3:30 - From boarding school teacher to burn unit tech 12:30 - Adamantine builds its backbone 16:15 - Eco-friendly efforts 22:08 - Eric's Leadership Academy experience 25:30 - Lessons learned from moral dilemmas  32:00 - Adamantine's biggest current challenges 36:40 - “Become someone - become yourself.”

ROI’s Into the Corner Office Podcast: Powerhouse Middle Market CEOs Telling it Real—Unexpected Career Conversations

I have been involved in business finance and investment for the best part of 30 years having started working for Merrill Lynch Investment Bank in Munich, Germany in 1987 at the tender age of 24. I now run an investment company and a knowledge platform teaching finance to entrepreneurs which goes by the name of Good & Prosper. My focus has always been on Small & Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) primarily in Germany and Europe and mostly in some sort of distress or need of restructuring. I work at the seam between strategy, finance and leadership and bring three decades of experience as a finance and investment professional to the world of SME operations. Good & Prosper also offers courses to entrepreneurs and SME business owners to enable them to further their expertise in finance, capital allocation, leadership, culture and strategy, as well as individual leadership coaching and mentoring. My perspective on business, politics and society is shaped primarily by my alignment with the Austrian School of Economics. I was irredeemably inspired by my early reading of the Intelligent Investor at the age of 24 and am at a loss to understand why anyone would want to think differently about investing and capital allocation other than from a value perspective. I am a Christian Libertarian by conviction. You can read more about my own journey and the influences on my thinking by reading the blog post „why we do what we do“ I am an Englishman, born in Lancashire in 1963 who moved to Germany at the age of 24 after completing my education at Rugby and Durham University. Starting in 1987, I spent almost all of my investment career in Munich, Germany, before moving to Ireland with my family in early 2015. I now commute between Dublin and Germany and have come to the conclusion that there are worse things in life…I have been married to Britta since 2000 and our family consists of four children, three dogs, and a horse, all of whom live in Delgany, Co. Wicklow. I am an avid long distance trail walker (see www.peregrinations.eu for my trail blogs), cross country skier and sailor, I read voraciously, listen to an unhealthy amount of podcasts, write enthusiastically and drink large quantities of green tea every day. I am also a founding member of the Small Giants Community ( www.smallgiants.org ), a wonderful, US- based organisation, that caters to companies that choose to be great instead of big and provides resources and a community to value-based leaders. In addition I am an active supporter and mentor within the Ashoka Social Entrepreneurship (http://ireland.ashoka.org/ ) network, both here in Ireland and in Germany and Britta and I have been actively involved with Ashoka in one way or another since 2002. In 2015 I was invited to join an interfaith delegation to the caribbean island state of Grenada, whose purpose was to coordinate a number of reconstruction and redevelopment projects for infrastructure seriously damaged by hurricanes a decade earlier. As part of that delegation representing the Anglican community, I was awarded with an honour bestowed by the Governor General into the Order of the Nation of Grenada with the rank of Knight Commander. Since 2017 I have served as one of a number of business professionals working as mentors to high growth entrepreneurs with the Ryan Business Academy „Mentoring for Growth“ Program. In 2018 I was elected to serve on the founding steering committee (supervisory board) of the MyData Global Organisation, an Helsinki-based foundation set up to 'empower individuals with their personal data, thus helping them and their communities develop knowledge, make informed decisions, and interact more consciously and efficiently with each other as well as with organisations.‘ and was delighted to have been involved with that organisation in its founding year. I believe that business can and should be a force for good in our society and that the more people take entrepreneurial responsibility for their lives, the better our society will be. I also believe in Benjamin Franklin's dictum of “doing well by doing good” and in that Abraham Maslow was right when he wrote „The difference between the great and good societies and the regressing, deteriorating societies is largely in terms of the entrepreneurial opportunity and the number of such people in the society. I think everyone would agree that the most valuable people to bring into a deteriorating society would not be 100 chemists, or politicians, or professors, or engineers, but rather 100 entrepreneurs”. Amen to that.

Show Notes:How much do you think about your thoughts? Seems kinda like a funny question, don't you think? Thinking about our thoughts? But in all reality, this is something people have encouraged me to do ever since I was a kid.  But my early training around paying attention to my thoughts really only focused on moral cleanliness. I didn't think about learning to observe and actively choose my own thoughts in other areas until I got more involved in personal development. Well our guest today has done the work necessary to master his thoughts and told me after the show that he feels those lessons are the most important lessons he could share with us.  Our guest today is Sir Steven Wilkinson. On this episode of the Growing With Purpose podcast, Paul Spiegelman talks with Kate McCrea, CEO and “Chief Caramel Visionary” of McCrea's, a quality candy confectioner. Kate is also a longstanding member of the Small Giants Community.  At a glance, Kate's road may be a very windy one. From being an avid dancer as a child, to training as a scientist and living in places like remote Alaska to conduct fieldwork, to now being at the helm of a rapidly growing candy company, Kate has worn a lot of hats in her life. But to her, these transitions haven't been huge leaps, but rather, stepping stones. After Kate's husband, Jason, a fellow scientist, lost his job in 2008, he started making caramel in his kitchen, working with sugar molecules to stabilize the candy rather than using preservatives. Before long, it turned into a family business. “It's easy to look back now, and see we had this itch to step into the business world to be makers,” says Kate. “Once Jason had this amazing formulation… it was not a huge step to taking it to markets.” In this episode, listen as Kate discusses with Paul how she and her husband successfully run a business together, how their scientist background prepared them to have an innovation mindset in their company, and how recently creating a human-centric vision for McCrea's has gotten her excited for their future.

On this episode of the Growing with Purpose podcast, host Paul Spiegelman talks with Sabrina White, Head of People & Customer Experience at Text-Em-All, and Leslie DeMent, Managing Director at Tailwind. Sabrina and Leslie are graduates of the Small Giants Leadership Academy who found lifelong friendship in one another and with the other leaders in their class.   On this episode, Paul sits down with Sabrina and Leslie to dive into what makes their friendship so special. Sabrina and Leslie were in the same class of the Small Giants Leadership Academy, but they didn't really get to know one another until six months into the program, when they spent time together at the Small Giants Summit, which is included in the Leadership Academy experience. The two hit it off right away, and went on to form a friendship that has only grown since they graduated from the Academy.   Today, Sabrina and Leslie rely on one another as friends and as leadership mentors. As Sabrina prepared to become a new mom – and also the first person in her organization to ever become pregnant — Leslie drew on her experience as a working mother to help Sabrina plan for maternity leave and map out a blueprint for her team. And the support is mutual: Leslie loves to remind Sabrina that they're going to be "friends forever" and that she relies on Sabrina as a trusted sounding board for her leadership and personal challenges.   In this episode, listen along as Paul, Sabrina, and Leslie have a fun, inspiring conversation about the friendships that emerge from the Small Giants Leadership Academy and the Small Giants Community at large. You'll hear Leslie and Sabrina's reflections on the importance of peer relationships in leadership, and learn why all three of them believe that accountability is a cornerstone of Small Giants leadership.

Like all of us, Torey and his colleagues at ASLA were deeply impacted by the murder of George Floyd last summer. "The 8 minutes and 46 seconds murder of George Floyd brought ASLA — and the world, quite frankly — to a full stop and reminded us all that the road to a more just and fair society is long and winding," says Torey.  For many, a period of deep self-reflection followed. For host Paul Spiegelman, this social justice movement moved him to start a new initiative within the Small Giants Community, the LIFT Scholarship Program (Leaders for Inclusion, Fairness & Transparency). Paul and his family will personally fund enrollment in the Small Giants Leadership Academy for business leaders of color, particularly leaders in underserved communities.   As CEO of ASLA, Torey turned his attention to his own organization and the industry to which it belongs, releasing a racial equity plan of action titled “Our Work Continues…” in hopes that the landscape architecture profession and global design community will join them on this important journey.   In this episode, Paul and Torey have a frank conversation about the role of race in business, leadership, and life, and they reflect on the unique challenges and opportunities of the moment our nation finds itself in. You'll hear Paul and Torey's perspectives on why people find it so hard to talk about race, and learn why Torey thinks it's less about the conversation and more about listening.

He now runs an investment company and a knowledge platform teaching finance to entrepreneurs which goes by the name of Good & Prosper. His focus has always been on Small & Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) primarily in Germany and Europe and mostly in some sort of distress or need of restructuring. Good & Prosper also offers courses to entrepreneurs and SME business owners to enable them to further their expertise in finance, capital allocation, leadership, culture, and strategy, as well as individual leadership coaching and mentoring.Steven's perspective on business, politics, and society is shaped primarily by his alignment with the Austrian School of Economics. He was irredeemably inspired by his early reading of the Intelligent Investor at the age of 24 and was at a loss to understand why anyone would want to think differently about investing and capital allocation other than from a value perspective. He is a Christian Libertarian by conviction.Steven is an Englishman, born in Lancashire in 1963 who moved to Germany at the age of 24 after completing his education at Rugby and Durham University. Starting in 1987, he spent almost all of his investment career in Munich, Germany, before moving to Ireland with his family in early 2015. On this episode of the Growing with Purpose podcast, host Paul Spiegelman talks with Bo Burlingham, author of the Small Giants book among many others, former executive editor of Inc. Magazine, a Forbes contributor, and co-founder of the Small Giants Community. When Bo Burlingham published Small Giants: Companies That Choose to Be Great Instead of Big, he didn't know he was starting a movement. In the years since, entrepreneurs around the world and from across industries have picked up the Small Giants book and had a lightbulb moment. Even more, these entrepreneurs felt a sense of relief in discovering that there were other leaders out there who also believed in a different way of doing business: putting people and purpose before profits. Not long after, the Small Giants Community formed to bring these leaders together to learn and grow with purpose. Those involved with the Small Giants Community today are familiar with Bo's writing and the inspiring ideas he explores in his books, but what you might not know is Bo's storied journey into business journalism. Bo has always had a spirit of curiosity, and in college, he was drawn into many of the radical movements of the 1960s and 1970s. But his counterculture ideals didn't last forever — eventually, Bo wound up working at Fidelity Investments, before moving into a role as a founding editor at Inc. Magazine. Although much has changed for Bo over the years, his values never have. In this special episode with the Small Giants author and co-founder, hear Bo's reflections on what makes a company great and what the future holds for Small Giants companies. Small Giants Leadership Academy graduate Travis Slisher interviews Paul about his life journey and shares with Paul the impact of the Small Giants Scholarship Fund, which allowed him to embark on a journey to grow as a leader. Travis has a story that many emerging leaders can identify with: he believes in a different, more purposeful style of leadership but he often feels isolated in his beliefs. Where could he find training and mentorship that aligned with his values and would give him the tools to grow himself and his organization? "Then I discovered this community that I didn't know existed in Small Giants," says Travis. "I found what I was looking for here, and then Paul invested in me personally through the Small Giants Scholarship Fund. I want to thank him from the bottom of my heart." Travis is the inaugural recipient of the Small Giants Scholarship Fund, which connects emerging leaders to the funds they need to complete the Small Giants Leadership Academy and become certified Small Giant leaders. As Travis' graduation approached, he asked for the opportunity to interview Paul — who seeded the Scholarship Fund — about his own leadership beliefs and lessons learned. This episode is a rare opportunity to hear directly from our co-founder about his early days building a business with his brothers, which eventually became BerylHealth, why he started the Small Giants Community, and the endeavors that give him a sense of purpose today. Paul also shares formative family stories — like his father's experience leaving Poland right before Hitler invaded — and his urgent advice to people of all ages: if you're not fulfilled by the life you're in right now, do not settle.  In this episode, Travis has the opportunity to talk to the person who founded the Community that is impacting his life today and ask anything he wants. They cover everything from mindfulness to firing clients to the current movement for racial justice.

As we walk through life, many of us never know the near misses with tragedy we avoid due to an unknown twist of fate. For others, however, that near-miss was broadcast worldwide and will be forever remembered.    Bo Burlingham, author of the best-selling books Small Giants, The Great Game of Business and Finish Big, co-founder of the Small Giants Community and recent donothing guest, was one of those people. This week, we’re deviating from our typical podcast format to share his unbelievable story.   ...   On September 11th, 2001, 2,977 innocent people lost their lives—and Bo was nearly among them.   That Tuesday over 17 years ago, Bo had plans to travel from Boston to Los Angeles with a seat booked on American Airlines Flight 11. However, a twist of fate moved him to change his flight. Instead of sitting on that plane, he watched in horror as it plunged into the North Tower of the World Trade Center.   Listen to Bo’s incredible story about that terrible day and discover how his brush with mortality changed his entire outlook on life.    In this special episode of the donothing podcast, you’ll learn:   Where Bo was planning on flying to on 9/11/2001 Why Bo missed Flight 11 on September 11th How Bo found out that he was supposed to be on that flight What Bo’s first reaction was when he heard “his flight” hit the Twin Towers How Bo’s near miss with death changed his outlook on life Why Bo considers this near-miss a blessing—and not just because he survived How others including his family and colleagues like Jack Stack and Norm Brodsky reacted to the events of 9/11 and came together in the wake of tragedy Why it took several days for Bo and his wife, Lisa, to reunite How Bo’s sense of gratitude deepened after this experience Why Bo doesn’t want the memory of his brush with death to fade What Bo has had the opportunity to enjoy thanks to missing Flight 11 Why gratitude is often the silver lining behind tragedy   Connect With Bo Burlingham Online Website: http://boburlingham.com Twitter: https://twitter.com/BoBurlingham LinkedIn: https://bit.ly/32GjVK5   Find Bo’s Books Online Finish Big: How Great Entrepreneurs Exit Their Companies on Tophttps://amzn.to/32BnZuS   Small Giants: Companies That Choose to Be Great Instead of Bighttps://amzn.to/2OcWeFT   Street Smarts: An All-Purpose Tool Kit for Entrepreneurs, with Norm Brodskyhttps://amzn.to/2Gqo37c   The Great Game of Business, with Jack Stackhttps://amzn.to/2XZTMHe   Registration is OPEN for the 2020 donothing Leadership Retreat!   The dates are set for next year’s silent retreat at the Shambhala Mountain Center in Red Feather Lakes, Colorado. 41: The Hidden Role on Your Organizational Chart with Sir Steven Wilkinson

Profit By Design

Play Episode Listen Later Jun 20, 2019 52:39

Dr. Sabrina interviews Sir Steven Wilkinson founder of Good and Prosper, and co-founder of the Small Giants Community. Sir Steven believes there is a role that is hidden on our organizational charts, and taking a 4 Week Vacation is the first step to revealing that role. Sir Steven applies his love of poetry and literature to helping entrepreneurs become curious about the story their balance sheet is telling. He has developed a system for calculating the share price of a small business, which in turn becomes a tool the owner can use to drive the value of the business. Sir Steven concludes the interview revealing the startling distinction of small businesses outperforming their industry peers.  Sir Steven Wilkinson is the VIP Speaker at the 2020 Breakthroughs on the Bayou 4 Week Vacation™ Legacy Retreat. On today’s episode, he gives a preview of what he will be teaching Retreat participants. Tune in now, to find out more about becoming an investor in your own business. Sir Steven Wilkinson started early to deal with corporate finance issues: he comes from a middle-class English entrepreneurial family. Through the IPO of the family business in the 60s, his investment training with Merrill Lynch and the years of work in one of the most prestigious asset managers in Germany, he has extensive knowledge of the world of high finance - both theoretically sound, as well as practically tested - appropriated. But that is only one side of the coin: due to his humanistic image of mankind and his strong value orientation, he made his interest in a good corporate governance ("servant leadership") his second passion many years ago.  Steven Wilkinson co-founded the network of Small Giants companies as the only European. He has been involved with the Ashoka organization for the successful development of social enterprises for more than 15 years and gives his knowledge e.g. through lectures and blog articles. He is the moderator of the podcasts "Good & Prosper" and founder of the Internet publishing house of the same name, which prepares and makes accessible knowledge about Servant Leadership for entrepreneurs. His very rare combination of insider knowledge from the world of high finance and the passion for value-oriented corporate management of small and medium-sized companies (SMEs), coupled with a decided ability to communicate complex knowledge easily and entertainingly, gives his students and clients a new perspective on the development of your company and thus contributes to a better culture in the company and a more self-determined life and prosperity for the entrepreneur itself. Show Highlights: Sir Steven talks about the two podcast interviews that have inspired him lately. One was the Profit by Design interview with John Bates and the other was Oprah, with Elizabeth Gilbert. There are very few people who know precisely what their passion is, and telling people that they have to have one when they don't is forcing them into a sense of inadequacy. How Elizabeth Gilbert has reframed her entire message around passion to one of curiosity. This resonated very deeply with Sir Steven. Sir Stephen explains his view of passion. How curiosity, as a mindset, helps business owners. Nurturing curiosity is really so important for our development. Sir Stephens curiosity is about how to help business owners fall in love with their balance sheets. Individual financial accounts are the manifestation of habits, according to Jack Stack, author of The Great Game of Business. These habits become the character traits of the businesses. Money is just energy, so the way we deal with is unique to everyone. Sir Steven's experiences led him to develop what he is most curious about now. Sir Steven reframes finances to make them make sense in each individual's context. Sir Steven talks about the magic that happens when he teaches people how to calculate a share price for their business. What Warren Buffet has to say about the value of a business. The discipline of focusing on your strategically managing your balance sheet. What the intrinsic value of a business means.  Making the first step to becoming an investor in your own business. Why you have to transition out of your doing role, in order to sell your business. Sir Steven unpacks his chart, which shows us that some small businesses out-perform their industry peers by factors of seven to ten. Sir Stephen explains why small business owners really need a four-week vacation. Many business owners might feel that they have to choose between profitability and creating a caring and supportive workplace. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Paul Spiegelman is the co-founder of Small Giants Community, a peer group of purpose-driven business leaders. He is also a New York Times best-selling author and has been honored with the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Paul is a prolific speaker and author on the topic of leadership, employee engagement, entrepreneurship, culture, and leading a purpose-driven life. This episode is all about how a people-centered focus leads to greater profits and success. Paul shares why he has found a supportive and enjoyable workplace to be the recipe for a thriving business. He explains the connection between implementing seemingly small efforts to create a great workplace and the company’s success. Paul and I go on to chat about the role of leadership in creating a great work culture. It involves abandoned old paradigms of top-down command and leading through collaboration. It also helps to have a process to help you show your employees how well you support them. Have you experienced a connection between the culture of your workplace and profits? Tell me all about it in the comments!   In this episode: Why you don’t need to choose between having a value-driven business and being profitable The connection between investing in your employees and the financial success of your business Having regular processes in place to put a focus on work-culture even if you’ve never done it before The secret to connecting to your employees and co-workers on a deeper level even if you’re an introvert The seven words to live by as a leader in your business   Quotes: “Leadership is hard. Leadership can be lonely. We all want to learn, but we don’t really go to leadership school, or business school necessarily. We learn along the way.” [6:59] “If we create an environment in which people love what they do every day, they are going to do better work for us and we’re going to be able to build a successful company.” [9:36] “I think it’s really important for leaders to realize that while this stuff is the right thing to do, it’s also good for business.” [15:59] “Ultimately, as leaders, we all want to feel a certain sense of fulfillment in our lives. And as entrepreneurs part of that is financial. What people don’t realize is that you can get this warm and fuzzy feeling that ultimately long-term is going to feel better than anything. And that’s the feeling that you get when you impact people’s lives.” [29:36]   Links: Struggling to tell your brand story? Pick up our quick start guide here! Kathy Steele,  CEO of Red Caffeine Marketing + Technology, discusses her career and bouncing back from a business crucible. After overcoming numerous challenges, her re-launched business is now profitable and growing. She has created an intentional culture with people who share a purpose, and key core values. Kathy pursues agile solutions with a think-tank approach, and how leaders don’t ignore the importance of shared values amongst the team.   Key Takeaways [5:01] Kathy had a business divorce four years ago that led her to found a new business based on things she believed. To reboot her business she focused on purpose, mission, vision, core values, and the tenets of operating the business. Investing in culture helped triple business revenues in four years.[8:46] Culture Club serves to share financial results, project wins, things that could be improved, education and motivational keynote speakers. [11:14] Kathy embraces open book operations and the ‘small giants’ philosophies as the right way to do business. After the unfavorable business divorce, Kathy saw transparency as an essential factor in a profitable business. Within the first year, they exceeded sales projections and became debt-free. [17:54] Kathy displayed vulnerability to bring her team together to rally around the financial challenges they faced in the first year, and improve the ways they do things, through gaming elements and mini-games. One game involved time-tracking — time loggers against non-loggers.[21:42] When something doesn’t go well, Kathy investigates how she can be more clear about delivering on expectations.[23:40] Kathy depends on a solid go-to-market framework so sales aligns with production and delivery.[25:44] Growth of complexity within the company creates collaboration and teamwork challenges. Kathy aspires to agile solutions for problems, using a think-tank approach.   [30:23] Kathy contrasts her younger business self with her leadership approach today. She credits mentors (including her husband) that fueled her successes.   [34:30] Running a business is more difficult than Kathy ever imagined and at any stage, there are many different challenges.  Seek people who share your values.   Website: RedCaffeine.com Twitter: @RedCaffeineInc Twitter: @KathySteele Facebook: Red Caffeine Inc. Today I am interviewing Paul Speigelman, the chief culture officer for Stericycle, a globally traded public company with over 25,000 employees. Paul is a New York Times bestselling author of three books about culture and employee engagement, and he speaks often on the topic to convince other businesses about the power of values-driven leadership and the ROI of culture. He also acts as CEO of the Small Giants Community, a membership organization of small-business leaders who believe that as a business you don’t have to be big to have a big impact. Paul says the relationship between culture and building a great business has become a passion for him, discussing his journey from leaving a career at a law firm to collaborate with his two brothers to create a revolutionary new company. He reflects on the values his parents instilled in him and his brothers, and how it renders them kind, caring people with good core values and a strong potential for leadership. Paul genuinely believes culture lies in both the grassroots origins and the outreach strategies of the business. He also feels companies flourish by selling who they are, not what they do.
