McLaren has just introduced the McLaren GTS, a replacement for the GT, and we have the details. The grand tourer marries supercar performance with everyday practicality. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine boasts 626 horsepower, 14 more than its predecessor, and it's lighter at 3,351 pounds. The result is what McLaren claims is a class-leading power-to-weight ratio of 412 horsepower per ton. Clocking 0-60 mph in 3.1 seconds and 0-124 mph in 8.9 seconds, it outpaces the well-regarded GT. Its structure, rooted in McLaren's carbon fiber monocoque chassis, enhances agility and stability. Crafted with recycled carbon fiber components, the GTS boasts a lower center of gravity and intelligent adaptive suspension. The exterior flaunts a more aggressive design, enriched by gloss black finishes and personalization choices like 'Lava Grey' paint and 'Turbine' forged alloy wheels exclusive to the GTS. Inside, upgrades feature softgrain Aniline leather seats. The McLaren GTS is now open for orders, with McLaren promising deliveries in 2024. At the same time, Lexus has introduced a far more approachable car. The 2024 RZ lineup is now headlined by the newly announced RZ 300e, offering a 266-mile range and starting at $56,300. The front-wheel-drive model employs a 72.8kWh battery to feed a drivetrain that generates 201 horsepower. Lexus says it will deliver an EPA-estimated MPGe of 137/112/125 (city/highway/combined). The new RZ model features a rear subframe replacing the electric drive axle of the RZ 450e. The all-wheel-drive RZ 450e utilizes the Lexus DIRECT4 system, balancing torque between its 150-kW front and 80-kW rear eAxle motors. Total system horsepower is 308, and the trim offers a 220-mile range. Also in the news this week, a new study shows that Tesla drivers are the most accident-prone. And the drivers of other brands come in for some criticism as well. You'll be surprised to learn which brand's drivers get the most DUIs, for example. We'll have details. In the road tests this week, Host Jack Nerad and guest Co-Host Matt DeLorenzo will discuss the 2024 Honda Accord and the 2024 Toyota Sequoia full-size SUV. The Accord is a 2024 North American Car of the Year Finalists, and Nerad and DeLorenzo, two NACTOY jurors, discuss its merits in comparison to the other contenders — the Toyota Prius and the Hyundai Ioniq 6. Nerad and his family took a pre-holiday road trip in the Sequoia, which has been totally remade after the previous generation ran for more than a decade. How does it fare in comparison to the domestic stalwarts in the class, the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Expedition? We'll tell you in the road test segment. Also, in this episode, Nerad and DeLorenzo will discuss the most important news stories of 2023 and take a preview look at what might happen in the North American Car, Truck, and Utility of the Year awards, which will be presented in early January. All that and so much more are coming up in this episode of America on the Road. America on the Road is brought to you by Driving Today.com, Mercury Insurance, YourTestDriver.com, and EMLandsea.com , the publisher of Nerad's latest book, Dance in the Dark, which is available HERE on Amazon.com

On the version of Hot off the Wire posted Dec. 2 at 6 a.m. CT: Kraft Heinz says it's bringing dairy-free macaroni and cheese to the U.S. for the first time. The company says the new recipe has the same creamy texture and flavor of the beloved 85-year-old original but replaces dairy with ingredients like fava bean protein and coconut oil powder. Kraft NotMac&Cheese will be rolled out to U.S. stores over the next few months. It was developed in collaboration with Not Co., a Chicago startup that makes plant-based milk, burgers and other products. Kraft and Not Co. formed a joint venture last year and have also developed plant-based cheese slices and mayonnaise. Electric vehicle sales are expected to hit a record 9% of all passenger vehicles in the U.S. this year, according to Atlas Public Policy. That will be up from 7.3% of new car sales in 2022. This will be the first year U.S. EV sales surpass 1 million, and they will probably reach between 1.3 million and 1.4 million cars. Electric vehicle prices in the U.S. have been falling. Although the numbers show significant progress for electrification in the US, the nation is lagging behind countries like China, Germany, and Norway. The energy used by cars and their CO2 emissions could have dropped by over 30% in the past decade if not for the world's growing taste for SUVs, a new report from the Global Fuel Economy Initiative suggests. Electric vehicles are a solution, but large gas-powered cars are incredibly popular, especially in the U.S., and their overall market share keeps growing. Large SUVs like the Chevrolet Tahoe, Toyota Sequoia, or Nissan Armada have highway fuel efficiency of just 28, 24, and 19 miles per gallon, respectively. NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. life expectancy rose last year, but it still isn't close to what it was before the COVID-19 pandemic. It was up by more than a year in 2022, after plunging two straight years at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. It's now 77 years, 6 months — about what it was two decades ago. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention released the numbers on Wednesday. Researchers say the rise was mainly due the waning pandemic. The snapshot statistic is considered one of the most important measures of the health of the U.S. population. PHOENIX (AP) — The United States is ill-prepared to ensure housing and care for the growing ranks of America's older people. That's the conclusion of a new report being released Thursday by Harvard University's Joint Center for Housing Studies. Without enough government assistance many older adults will have to forgo needed care or rely on family and friends for assistance. Many will become homeless. Officials at the center say more governmental assistance could better help the upsurge of older Americans who are baby boomers born after World War II. Creative ideas are needed to help house people with fixed or dwindling incomes. NEW YORK (AP) — The COVID-19 pandemic upended the work habits of people around the world, with millions working from home, at least for part of their week. Workers have returned in waves back to the office on some days, but navigating that transition is a significant hurdle for employers and workers alike. And many simply don't want to restore the pre-COVID status quo. Top factors behind this resistance include a sense of losing flexibility or throwing off a better work-life balance, as well as often lengthy and costly commutes. Two surveys conducted by NORC at the University of Chicago give a glimpse into the challenges and tensions that arrive with return to office plans. INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. (AP) — It's been a record-breaking year for sea turtles in Florida. Just as they have for millions of years, the turtles have crawled onto beaches, digging pits in the sand to lay their eggs. Florida's preliminary count shows more than 133,840 loggerhead turtle nests and 76,500 green turtle nests, breaking records set years ago. Other southeastern U.S. states also report high numbers. But only one in 1,000 hatchlings lives to adulthood and climate change is threatening their species as beaches disappear under rising seas. Hotter sand makes more females, and the hatchlings are smaller and slower. Experts say their future remains ominous. LONDON (AP) — The British Antarctic Survey says that one of the world's largest icebergs is drifting beyond Antarctic waters after being grounded for more than three decades. The iceberg known as A23a split from the Antarctic's Filchner Ice Shelf in 1986. But it became stuck to the ocean floor and had remained for many years in the Weddell Sea. The iceberg is about three times the size of New York City and more than twice the size of Greater London. Andrew Fleming from the British Antarctic Survey told the BBC on Friday that the iceberg has been drifting for the past year and now appears to be picking up speed and moving past the northern tip of the Antarctic Peninsula helped by wind and ocean currents. ELMSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — A growing number of states are working to keep food out of landfills over concerns the waste is taking up too much space and posing environmental problems. Globally, about a third of food is wasted. In the United States, it's even higher, at 40%. California and some others have passed laws requiring food waste to be composted while others including New York require supermarkets and other businesses to redirect food to food pantries. They argue it saves landfill space, cuts methane emissions and also gives poor families more choices. New York says it already has recycled or donated 5 million pounds of leftover food. The oil and gas sector, one of the major emitters of planet-warming gases, will need a rapid and substantial overhaul for the world to avoid even worse extremes fueled by human-caused climate change. That's according to a report released Thursday. The International Energy Agency says the current investment of $800 billion a year for the oil and gas sector will need to be slashed in half and emissions need to fall by 60% to give the world a fighting chance to meet its climate goals. It also found that the sector's investment into clean technologies like solar and wind only account for 1% of the global total. WENDEN, Ariz. (AP) — Worries about future water supplies from ancient aquifers are bubbling up in western rural Arizona. Some neighbors complain that their backyard wells have dried up since an Emirati agribusiness began farming alfalfa nearby. One farmer worries that state officials someday may try to divert the area's groundwater for Phoenix's future needs. Experts say tensions are inevitable as companies in climate-challenged countries such as the United Arab Emirates look to faraway places like rural Arizona for water and land they need to cultivate forage material and commodities. —The Associated Press About this program Host Terry Lipshetz is a senior producer for Lee Enterprises. Wednesday and wheels up for us as we delve deep into Colorado's controversial proposal to charge owners of large, pedestrian-unfriendly vehicles. We also unpack the surge of affordable EV leases under $400 a month and the impact of the expanded UAW strike on GM and Stellantis. Not long after GM announced their Q3 earnings the UAW has initiated a strike at General Motors' high-profit SUV plant in Texas, impacting the production of key models and deepening the financial blow to the Detroit 35,000 workers at GM's Arlington Assembly in Texas were ordered to strike by UAW President Shawn Fain. This plant manufactures the Chevrolet Tahoe, Suburban, GMC Yukon, and Cadillac Escalade.UAW President Shawn Fain said "Another record quarter, another record year. As we've said for months, record profits equal record contracts. It's time GM workers, and the whole working class, get their fair share."GM responded by expressing disappointment in the UAW's decision, highlighting that they had increased their previous proposal's value to the union by 25% just last week. The UAW's strike expansion also affected Stellantis' profitable Sterling Heights Assembly in Michigan yesterday, which produces Ram 1500 pickups.A proposed bill in Colorado seeks to introduce a “vulnerable road user protection registration fee” for heavier vehicles, with the intent to funnel the revenue into pedestrian and bike safety projects. The fee aims to generate around $20 million annually. However, even a 9,000-lb vehicle like the Hummer EV would only be subjected to an extra fee of $29.90 each year. The fee will only be charged Colorado's 12 most populated counties, where most pedestrian and bicycle accidents occur.State Senator Lisa Cutter said that “Data shows us that higher vehicle weights directly correlate with vulnerable road user deaths. It just makes sense to tie funding to that."Electric vehicles won't be exemptrom the registration fee.In 2024, Washington D.C. will raise registration fees based on weight: from $155 to $500 for over 6k lbs, from $155 to $250 for over 5k lbs, and from $115 to $175 for 3500-5k lbsA range of automakers are now offering electric vehicle leases for under $400 a month, making EVs more accessible to the average consumer and ramping up competition in the market.Multiple automakers including Nissan, Hyundai, and Kia are offering leases for electric vehicles like the 2023 Nissan LEAF, Hyundai Ioniq 6, and Kia Niro EV for under $400 per month. Some buyers are utilizing a "1-day lease" The lease tax "loophole" allows all vehicles to access benefits, irrespective of the $7,500 IRA tax credit income eligibility. Lease it for one day, they buy out the lease. A Michigan mother with a history of driving violations is charged after her three children die when Letitica Marie Gonzales crashes her SUV into an icy pond. The Gonzales boys, all under age 5, drowned after being trapped upside down in their car seats, underwater. Gonzales was impaired at the time, under the influence of a synthetic opioid. The 30-year-old was charged this week with three counts of driving while intoxicated resulting in death. Gonzales crossed into oncoming traffic, hit a curb, and rolled her Chevrolet Tahoe onto its roof in a Holland Township pond. Gonzales was able to get out of the SUV, but her three children drowned. Gonzales has pleaded guilty at least four times over the past 12 years to driving without a license; she also has pleaded guilty to obtaining controlled substances by false representation, according to a local newspaper. Patti Foster unbuckled her seatbelt and turned around to check on some flowers in the trunk when the Chevrolet Tahoe she was riding in was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer rig going nearly 70 mph back in 2002. Patti was ejected like a missile out of the back right window of the vehicle and her mangled body lay lifeless on the highway as EMTs rushed to her rescue. She remained in a coma for six weeks and sustained severe brain damage, but while she was comatose, Patti says she went to heaven and met Jesus. “I knew his presence,” she shares. “I knew his voice.” Patti, who is now the Vice President of Hope After Brain Injury, also discusses her inspiring recovery from the devastating crash and what it was like to relearn basic functions like reading, writing, and even chewing. TAKEAWAYS Hope After Brain Injury is the only faith-based non-profit for brain injury patients Patti reminds us that when the Holy Spirit leads us, we should follow Patti still has to fight agitation stemming from her traumatic brain injury even today On Saturday, April 23, Hope After Brain Injury will host its Annual Virtual Brain Injury Conference
Time really flies, because the 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe marks the second model year of the icon's 5th generation. Whoah, 'icon' - really? Yes. Perhaps that's this reporter's opinion but my bet is that there are plenty who agree. ⇒iDSC's Chevy HQ is Martin Chevrolet! The seven (and up to eight) passenger Tahoe shares the platform with a couple of siblings. But there's always been something special about the full-size SUV. Although the GMC Yukon is slightly more upscale. And the Cadillac Escalade is even a bit more upscale. The Chevy Tahoe just brings it all. Performance, styling, and capability. Moreover, the big sport-ute costs less than its aforementioned brethren. And I dig that! 2022 Chevy Tahoe Top-3: Drive Styling Interior ⇒Continue reading below and click play to listen.⇐ 7-8 Passenger full-size SUV 2022 Chevy Tahoe - New For 2022 So, just last year Tahoe was all-new. But Chevy continues to inspire with available new stuff for 2022. For example, there are some cool new exterior colors - auburn metallic, evergreen gray metallic and darks ash metallic. Plus some cool tech options. Like reverse auto-braking. Also, front and rear park assist. Additionally lane-keep assist with lane departure warnings. Camera monitoring views get enhanced along with Google Assistant. Even better is the digital instrument cluster. That comes standard on LT trims and above. Finally, we can't leave out the 6.2-liter V8 that's now available for Premier and Z71 trims. Trims And Pricing As always Chevrolet provides multiple trims, and all of these assure you are able to make Tahoe explicitly yours. 2022 Tahoe trims and starting MSRPs: LS $50,200 LT $55,600 RST $58,800 Z71 $60,800 Premier $63,600 High Country $70,500 Also, the test driver you see pictured throughout this post is a 4WD LT. Engines, Transmissions, And Gas Mileage Tahoe is a true sport utility vehicle. Which, might be obvious to some. But in the world of crossover SUVs, that's worth pointing out. But while it's closer to a truck than a car, Chevy doesn't go to the extent of engine and transmission options. Like, for example, what the carmaker does with Silverado. Engines For 2022 Tahoe can come with three different motors: 5.3L V8, 355 horsepower, and 383 pound-feet of torque 6.2L V8, 420 hp, and 460 lb-ft of torque 3.0L Turbo-Diesel, 277 hp, and 460 lb-ft of torque Drivetrain Regardless of the powerplant, the 2022 Chevy Tahoe comes equipped with the same transmission. And it's a smooth-shifting and efficient 10-speed automatic. So you're left with the choice of 2WD or 4WD. And here's another point that might be obvious but worth noting. The 2WD option is rear-wheel drive. MPG When it comes to fuel-economy Tahoe is in really good shape. Because a full-size Tahoe delivers about the same EPA estimated fuel economy as my midsize Toyota Tacoma. (And that hurt, frankly, when a realized it!) 2022 Tahoe Fuel-Economy: 5.3L V8 2WD 15/20 4WD tbd/tbd 6.2L V8 2WD 14/20 4WD 14/19 3.0L turbo-diesel 2WD 21/28 4WD 20/26 *All city/highway Speaking of my Tacoma, that's a 2WD - making the fuel-economy comparison all the more painful! And it used to be that I'd suggest buying 4WD only if you think you'll be using it. But with Tahoe's fuel efficiency, just get the 4WD. Because it doesn't cost that much more anyway. Plus, it increases your resale value. So, you might as well have it. 8 to 10-inches of ground clearance What Does 2022 Chevy Tahoe Look Like? I love the look of the new Tahoe - this fifth generation we're enjoying. While that's not changed from last year to this year it's both a beautiful and bold design. For instance, even though the trim pictured throughout this post is an LT trim, it's still a handsome SUV. Remember that the LT is only one step above the base-model LS.

One of the biggest introductions of the year is the 2022 Jeep Wagoneer and Jeep Grand Wagoneer. Both build on the goodwill created by the nameplates several decades ago. As part of America on the Road's extensive coverage of the two full-size sport utilities, Host Jack Nerad interviews Mike Uhlmeyer, Stellantis's chief engineer, on the two closely related vehicles. Uhlmayer describes how the project came together and details the things he feels give the new vehicles competitive advantages versus established favorites like the Chevrolet Tahoe and the Cadillac Escalade. Another all-new SUV is one of our vehicle reviews for the week. Co-host Chris Teague and his family try out the battery-electric Ford Mustang Mach-E. Maine doesn't have the EV infrastructure of some of the more heavily populated states, so the Mustang Mach-E had to face that reality. Could the Mach-E overcome that handicap to earn a positive review? And can the Mach-E present a good opportunity for your family? In another vehicle review, Host Jack Nerad, who is based in Southern California, had a vehicle that might be better suited to the Maine woods — the Subaru Outback Wilderness. The new Wilderness model is the most off-road-ready models in the Outback lineup. And Nerad puts it through its paces both off-road and on Southern California's notorious freeways. In the news segment, Chris and Jack tell you why Tesla is delaying its Roadster and Cybertruck. Will the Cybertruck compete in the North American Truck of the Year competition? That's a question that needs an answer.

Once there, generally have to wait on it or get a ride back home or the office or where you are headed to.Within limits, why not have the the work come to you? We have a lot of EV and SUV rumors for you and some new introductions to talk about this week in this episode of America on the Road. Leading off, we discuss the just-announced extensions of the Jeep brand, Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer. Both will be built on the Ram 1500 pickup truck chassis. The Wagoneer will compete against the Chevrolet Tahoe and Ford Explorer, while the Grand Wagoneer will take on full-size luxury SUVs like the Cadillac Escalade and Lincoln Navigator. Jeep promises the new SUV twins will have a brand-appropriate level of off-road capability plus a bevy of innovative features. All-new 2022 Grand Wagoneer Series III (left) and 2022 Wagoneer Series II (right) will compete against full-size SUVs from Ford, Chevy, Lincoln, and Cadillac. In the rumor mill, word on the street is General Motors is on the verge of introducing a new Hummer. The 2022 GMC Hummer EV SUV is a battery-electric version of the vehicle that many regard as the poster child of conspicuous consumption. Using components from GM's Ultium Drive EV toolkit the GMC Hummer EV SUV could offer as much as 1,000 horsepower from three electric drive motors. The vehicle might have an air suspension that could raise ride height as much as six inches. In the road test segment, host Jack Nerad put the incredible 797-horsepower 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat Redeye through its paces. The bright red test car attracted attention even standing still, and Nerad found few places in traffic-chocked Los Angeles where he could really sample the niceties of the supercharged V-8 engine, but that doesn't mean he didn't try. Meanwhile, J.D. Power's Director of Corporate Communications Geno Effler, co-hosting this week, gave the voice-of-the-customer look at the Dodge brand. Effler also revealed the findings of the just-released 2021 J.D. Power Customer Service Index Study, a closely watched industry bellwether. In the interview segment, saving money was the theme with guest Raghu Iyengar, director of CPO and Remarketing for Volkswagen of America. Have you ever thought of buying a Certified Pre-Owned car instead of a new vehicle? After hearing this interview, you might give it even more serious consideration.

The 2021 Chevy Suburban is one of the latest additions to our testing fleet, and we give our first impressions on what it's like to drive this big SUV, both on the open road, as well as in urban environments. The subscription model is common with many services these days, yet is still fairly uncommon in the automotive world. However, recent announcements by Tesla and GM may change this, and could introduce the concept of charging a monthly fee for access to important safety features. We talk about how these programs will work, and why they might not be in the best interest of consumers. We also discuss the long-term reliability of turbos and direct-injection vehicles, the best way to store your winter or summer tires, and if a dealership might allow you to learn to drive a manual transmission with one of their vehicles (spoiler alert: probably not.) ----------------------------------- Have a question for our experts? The 2021 Chevy Suburban is one of the latest additions to our testing fleet, and we give our first impressions on what it’s like to drive this big SUV, both on the open road, as well as in urban environments. 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe - All-New & Awesome! Nice. Job. Chevy! The all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe is a homerun. And it's made in the USA! Arlington, Texas to be exact. So, I've always been a Tahoe fan. But during my test drive. I kept thinking. They got it right. And not just here or there. But the whole thing. My sincere thanks to Lewis Cook at Martin Chevrolet. He's the general manager. And a dear friend. Plus he gave me his first 2021. And it was my guilty pleasure test driving it for this review. :0) 2021 Chevy Tahoe Top-3: Interior Styling Drive -->Continue reading or click play below to listen.

Show #744 Good morning, good afternoon and good evening wherever you are in the world, welcome to EV News Daily for Friday 10th April 2020. It’s Martyn Lee here and I go through every EV story so you don't have to. TESLA MODEL Y HAS A TOW HITCH OPTION NOW "On Friday, the automaker updated its website to include a tow hitch option for $1,000. The company says it's a "high strength, Class II steel tow bar" and will let the Model Y tow up to 3,500 pounds." reports CNET: "No, it won't challenge a Ford Expedition or Chevrolet Tahoe, but it should be enough to haul a small trailer or boat. It's a quick change after the Model Y's owner's manual originally said the SUV wasn't rated for towing at all. And there's more good news on the Model Y front: Tesla will now sell owners a roof rack. While we knew the accessory was on the way, it's now available for $450. It looks to be identical to the rack Tesla sells for the Model 3." https://www.cnet.com/news/tesla-model-y-sandy-munro-auto-manufacturing/ As for Model 3, still only Europe. SR+ and Long Range AWD. TESLA PRICES LONGER-RANGE MODEL 3 TO ATTRACT MORE CHINA BUYERS "Tesla Inc. set a price for its longer-range variant of its locally-built Model 3 sedans in China just 13% higher than its entry-level model, a sign that the carmaker is setting competitive prices in order to attract even more consumers in the world’s largest electric vehicle market." according to Bloomberg: "The four-door vehicle sells for 366,550 yuan ($52,000) before rebates. After subsidies from the Chinese government and qualifying for exemption from purchase tax, the price of the upgraded Model 3 variant starts at 339,050 yuan. By comparison, the imported equivalent was priced at 439,900 yuan. The longer-range Model 3s are set to be delivered from June." China Daily notes that Performance version also went online: "The Tesla Model 3 Performance made-in-China version is also open for booking orders at the same time, starting with a pre-subsidy price of 419,800 yuan. Currently, the Tesla Model 3 Performance version is manufactured in the United States and sold in China at a price of 509,900 yuan. The Model 3 Performance version made in China is expected to be delivered in the first quarter of 2021." http://www.chinadaily.com.cn/a/202004/10/WS5e903be2a3105d50a3d15607.html FORD F-150 PLUG-IN HYBRID RUMORED TO OFFER ONLY 10 MILES OF EV RANGE "One of the things that’s so nice about plug-in hybrid vehicles today is that most of them offer some all-electric driving range. For some plug-in hybrid vehicles, that means you can do most of your daily driving without using gasoline. The more pure electric driving a plug-in-hybrid offers, the better it is for owners. We know that Ford is working on the all-electric Ford F-150 and the Ford F-150 Hybrid, there will also be a Ford F-150 plug-in hybrid. A new rumor on the all-electric driving range for the plug-in hybrid has surfaced." says Ford Authority: "The rumor tips that the F-150 plug-in hybrid “will probably exceed 10 miles” of all-electric driving range. That is a very short driving distance, and according to the rumor, that driving range is unloaded. That would mean if you have stuff in the bed or are towing a trailer, the electric range would be even less." https://fordauthority.com/2020/04/ford-f-150-plug-in-hybrid-tips-only-10-miles-of-ev-range/ FOUR REASONS YOU'LL WANT TO BUY POLESTAR 2 It’s basically a Volvo XC40 - The XC40 Recharge and the Polestar 2 both use the same powertrain—a 78kWh battery and dual motors for all-wheel drive. A combined 402hp means 0-100kph in under 4.7sec. In the Polestar, that translates to 470km of range, while the bigger, bluffer XC40 only manages around 400km. Polestar 2 is 275 miles EPA target. Production has already started - It’s not long till Polestar 2s start arriving at showrooms. In the last couple of weeks, production began at Geely’s plant in Luqiao, China, where all units will be built alongside Chinese-market XC40s and the Lynk & Co 01. Cars are due to land in July, starting at £49,900. It can tow! Max. towing capacity: 1500 kg. Max. towing unbraked trailer: 750 kg. Google did the infotainment system - For the 2’s infotainment, Polestar paired up with Google to develop a car-friendly version of the tech giant’s Android operating system. Android Automotive, which is coming to Volvos, too (obviously), gives you navigation via Google Maps, access to the Play Store, and Google’s voice assistant. https://www.topgear.com.ph/features/feature-articles/polestar-2-facts-tguk-a2613-20200411?ref=feed_1_section WORLD’S FIRST ZERO-EMISSIONS ELECTRIC CONSTRUCTION SITE! "Even in cities like Oslo, Norway, which is typically thought of as progressive and “green” here in the ‘States, more than 20% of the total CO2 emissions comes from heavy-duty construction equipment. That’s a huge number, and you can bet that older, less regulated machines in other major cities are even worse. That fact has motivated the authorities in Oslo to enact laws that say all new, public buildings must be built with “fossil-free” construction machinery." repors REd Green and Blue: "You can see the Suncar ZE85 battery-powered excavators get to work in this surprisingly quiet video". http://redgreenandblue.org/2020/04/09/worlds-first-zero-emissions-electric-construction-site/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1iXRUn0iHJY&feature=emb_title MERCEDES BLEW A HUGE ELECTRIC SPORTS CAR LEAD "Seven whole years ago, Mercedes AMG was on the forefront of electric sports car technology. It had experimented with both a hydrogen-powered and a full battery electric vehicle version of its begullwing’d SLS AMG sports car, even going so far as to throw down an electric lap record at the Nordschleife" says Jalopnik: "In case you don’t remember, the Mercedes SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive was a limited edition electric sports car released in 2013. Only about 100 examples were built, but it packed one electric motor for each wheel, providing a combined 740 horsepower and 738 lb-ft of torque. It was NEDC rated with a range of 160 miles from a 60 kWh liquid-cooled battery stack. All of this advanced Mercedes tech cost around $550,000 brand new. If Mercedes had held up its end of the bargain here, it could be at the forefront of electric tech in the sports car market. Instead, it developed an electric Smart, an A-class EV, and the gargantuan EQC SUV." https://jalopnik.com/mercedes-blew-a-huge-electric-sports-car-lead-1842800638 EV STARTUP ZYPP INSTALLS 20 BATTERY SWAPPING STATIONS "The green tech startup Zypp on Monday made its foray in battery swapping for electric vehicles, the company said in a press release. It has installed 15 battery swapping stations in Gurugram." according to Energy Infrapost: "the users can use the electric scooter ride-sharing app Zypp to opt for a battery swap option and avail a swap within 3 minutes and continue to ride e-bikes for another 75kms without breaking. Fitted with IoT locks and lithium-ion batteries, Zypp e-bikes can also be hired remotely via the app. Upon completion of the trip, users need to park these e-scooters in the Zypp parking points only which ensures complete safety of these scooters at all times, informed the release." https://www.energyinfrapost.com/ev-startup-zypp-installs-20-battery-swapping-stations-in-delhi-ncr/ QUESTION OF THE WEEK If you’re staying at home and not driving, what condition or state of charge are you leaving your EV parked up in? 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe Review The 2020 Chevrolet Tahoe was a lot of fun for me to test drive for this review. Because Tahoe is one of those vehicles that I've wanted from a very early age. Perhaps that's because it looks great. Also, it could be because it's rugged and ready for anything. Plus, it's a real sport utility vehicle. And there's not really much crossover about it at all. That is, except for all the awesome creature comforts. But, make no mistake, the 2020 Chevy Tahoe is big. It's a true full-size SUV. 2020 Chevy Tahoe Top-3 Things: The drive Exterior styling Interior functionality My friends at Martin Chevrolet gave me one for a day recently for this review. -->Continue reading or click play below to listen.

We're back for episode 129! This week, we talk a bit about some news, and Joseph's a smidge drunk. Joseph kicks off the news with a bit about the new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban. Matt then talks about the new electric Ferrari coming in 2025, which delves into a bit of an argument with Joseph. Matt and Joseph then talk about the new Nissan Navara N Trek, which is just a fancy Navara that still has the rubbish Renault engine. Matt talks about Melbourne getting a new racetrack in the next couple of years, and it looks like it'll be a hoot. We then talk about Holden officially that they are killing off the Commodore, and the Astra, saying that they won't be building any more and letting the current stock dry up into 2020; it will not be replaced. Instead, Holden plan to focus on SUVs and Utes. Matt then briefly talks about Mazda refreshing the MX5, and Honda releasing a new Accord. Matt and Mitch argue with Joseph about the Supra, that Joseph reckons isn't a 'real' Supra. We then take a listener email from Matthew in Ohio. We then talk about issues we're having with our personal cars. Joseph then talks about his most recent track day, and his 86's setup change. Joseph then talks about the Germans only offering a 3-year warranty in Australia. BMW says their customers are content with only having 3-year warranty, and we talk about Ferrari taking the piss. Host Tom Appel and co-host Damon Bell start the show by discussing the recent news that TEN Publishing is discontinuing the print editions of 19 car magazines, including Automobile and Truck Trend. Next, we talk about the 2020 Honda Civic Hatchback Sport Touring, one of our Consumer Guide test-fleet vehicles this week. Harvey Briggs, Editor and Publisher of Rides & Drives (ridesanddrives.com), calls in for an interview on his days in the automotive advertising industry and the creation of Chevrolet's well-remembered "Heartbeat of America" and "Like a Rock" campaigns. Damon gives a run-down of the articles posted this week on The Daily Drive blog (including a First Look at the all-new 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban), and Tom gleefully annoys Damon with a pop quiz on automobile/movie-title puns. We wrap up the show with a quick reminiscence of our favorite car magazines when we were young.

So again, what I want to kind of dive into this year West is one thing that we were just starting to talk about is this idea that, you know, you do so many different things and I think that's the problem a lot of entrepreneurs struggle with is like I can't make it unless I just focus on one. And so you're like totally the opposite side of things. So kind of tell people what is it that you do? Speaker 3: 01:59 Yeah, you bet. Well, you know, the one thing I always tell people that it's a little bit confusing when you look at somebody like me because when someone, when someone's new cs what all I'm doing and they try to do it, then they get overwhelmed and what they have to understand, it's like I didn't do it overnight. And the way I look at it is, you know, at the time I start a new business, I, I liken it to drill for oil where, you know, before you can start pulling oil out of the ground, you have to, the crew has to show up, right? There has to be work that's done. They have to erect the rig, they have to get oil pumping out, then they can, you know, set up that little oil horse that continues to pump out oil. Well, you know, whenever I decide I'm going to do something like it usually takes me about a month to really get everything up and running. Speaker 3: 02:48 But see now you're seeing, you know, two and a half years into this thing. And so don't be confused when you see somebody that has a lot of different businesses because they didn't do it overnight. Still human, you know, I get distracted, I get a uh, I guess I'll have days where I don't feel like doing anything. I have days where things don't work right. You know, so I'm human just like anyone watching this. But you know, I originally got my start in network marketing. I don't know if a lot of people realize that or not, but that's where I originally got my start when I was 18 years old and it's really all I had ever done. And my goal, my, my lifelong goal, you know, from a young age was to get to the top level in that company and it was just a really prestigious honor. Speaker 3: 03:34 And so I got there and as really exciting and, you know, one of the things that happens whenever you build a business, really specifically a cashflow business that's built around a lifestyle as you actually have a pretty good lifestyle. And so a couple of years ago I was just kind of like, well, I can only mow my lawn and trim my trees so much, uh, before it's like, you know, maybe I'd like to use the extra time that I have now to further, you know, share my gifts with the world and further learn and grow as a person and become better. And so, um, what, what kind of ignited all of this was, I had this. I had this lady named Ashley who was a personal trainer and she would drop her boys off at school every day. And then um, and I, and I would drop my son off so we would see each other and we became friends and stuff like that while I would see on our social media when she would post stuff, she would get all this engagement. Speaker 3: 04:35 And so I said, hey, if you ever thought about launching an online training business, and she's like, I think about it everyday, I just don't know how. And I go, well I think I know how can you be my Guinea pig? And she was like, sure. And I go, okay, here's what I need. And like this, she didn't even have an email list. Okay. Like she didn't know what an email list was. I was like, do you have an email list? And she's like, well, I've got people I email. I'm like, no, it's not what I'm talking about. So we had to do like a post on social media to get people to join, you know, the opt to her, uh, you know, fitness funnel. And after three days of that she had like a whopping 32 people on this email list. And then we send out a series of emails that went to a click funnel's checkout page and she makes $3,200 in three and a half days with the list of 32 people. Speaker 3: 05:22 Now I know that's weird that it's all three point two, but it just, it just is what it is, right? Like I can't, I can't tell, I can't fix the numbers, but it was so powerful because she's a really good friend of mine and she's shared with me that that month, if, if she wouldn't have earned that income with our online journey business, they would have actually gone into foreclosure and I didn't even know that at the time. And so that, you know, that the, the emotional currency that I saw from helping someone and seeing a real difference. And, and also, you know, even though she made the 3,200, we split it. But even though she made the 3,200, that was Kinda my first little online experience. So it felt like I made the 3,200, you know, I was like, yes, but you know, obviously that wasn't online, but I was like, from that moment on, I was hooked. The first time you get an online customer, it's the most incredible feeling in the world. And so Speaker 2: 06:21 stop there for a second. I want to make sure those who are listening understand. So did you charge her anything up front with her? I just did a partnership. That's what I figured you'd done to. I've heard the story from you before and I think it's important. People understand when you don't know exactly what you're doing, even though you thought, you know, I might be able to pull this off. Working for free is one of the most important things you can do and it's so cool. Yeah, you were able to get successful and yes, you were able to save her house from going into foreclosure, but obviously it generated revenue for you. But I think the part that's the coolest thing for me is I hear stories like that is the confidence that then gives you to go, if I can do that for her, where can I go? And now you're sitting there watching these plaques behind your wall. Here you got eight figure black, two comma club black, take tickets. Fast forward from there, she helped them. One client, what are you doing now? What's entrepreneur of fight club? How, how in the world did you get to. I mean, people still don't understand that a person can literally do in two and a half years, go to wherever they make $10 million through a funnel. It's just astronomical. Speaker 3: 07:20 Sure. Yeah. So that, that branched off into other things that ended up creating a product around it and it's, I won't name the website, but ended up creating a product that shows trainers how to launch their training business without facebook ads. And so, um, then that led to entrepreneur of fight club. And really what I saw there was just a lot of entrepreneurs that didn't know how to wake up every day and generate leads. Didn't know, you know, one of my friends, Jessie always talks about how if you, if you have a money problem, then you don't really have a money problem, what you have as a sales and marketing problem. And so I thought, okay, well everyone thinks they have this money problem, but all they really have as a sales and marketing problem, we can fix that. We can correct that, you know, and so that, that led into the entrepreneur fight club. Speaker 3: 08:09 And then that's just a generic entrepreneurs business forum. Uh, there's people that sell on Amazon in there, there's people that are realtors in there. I mean any type of business owner, uh, can, can get a lot of value from that group. But when someone goes into that group, there's a lot of different trainings pinned to the top. And so somebody can kind of pick and choose what's for them. And then those different trainings lead to other things, whether it's a, you know, a little private mentorship circle, whether it's this thing I do in Austin called e upgrade, which is where people come and actually hang out at my house. And you just focus on their business. There's all kinds of stuff that it branches out into. So you're using an entrepreneur Speaker 2: 08:49 of fight club as a front end, and correct me if I'm wrong, but my understanding is that's been a facebook group. Yes. So it's a private facebook group, so you're basically bringing them in the front end through clickfunnels opt in page. From there they then get access to a private facebook page on that private facebook page. Is this content where each one basically is a lead gen for another product or service that you have to offer, is that correct? Speaker 3: 09:11 Yes, exactly. Exactly. And so the way they get added to the group obviously is they have to go through the clickfunnels site and also joined my email list simultaneously because you know, facebook groups are. I mean you can be hot and then all of a sudden that's good, you know, because of the algorithm or whatever. Right. So email list is gold, golden, and that's the way people actually get into the free group. So, Speaker 2: 09:36 I mean, it's not going to want to make sure I hear this from people all the time and that is, I'm just going after facebook messenger. That's all I care about right now. Email's dead. No one opens emails. Anything else like that and what you just said, for me, it's probably the most important thing as we're helping people understand, you have to build a list that you control and you control an email list. You don't control a facebook messenger list. And so I love the fact that you're collecting both. Congratulations. That's super, super Speaker 3: 10:00 cool stuff. Yeah, thanks a lot. Yeah, you know, I mean, even, even the way all of us communicated about this particular video was through an email. We didn't communicate it through messenger, you know, so email is crucial and that's ultimately in my mind, the golden egg. And that's the biggest asset that I have is that email list and my personal opinion. So, um, you know, at this point all I'm continuing to do is just identifying problems that people have and creating solutions. And, uh, I've also just a lot of different partnerships and as I was alluding to with you guys, I'm, one of the things that, that I have really enjoyed lately is doing something that I kind of calling a smart business, which is a where you can identify talent or identify potential somewhere and then you can usually set that particular business up and I'm going to give you some applicable examples, but you can usually set that business up with about two to three hours of actual work. Speaker 3: 11:00 So that's the first rules I got to be able to set it up with two to three hours of work, which is possible with click funnels. Um, and then it must cash flow immediately. Okay. Most cashflow immediately and must be able to be managed with, um, you know, 20 to 30 minutes of actual time per month, you know, let's call it an hour just to be safe. So cashflows immediately can manage it with one hour to two hours at Max. Maximum month can set it up within two to three hours. And so one of those, one of the examples I was sharing with you guys, I've got a lot of different kinds of businesses. They're a little bit, little bit unique, but a, something people may not know about me is I'm a big outdoorsman, so I'm, I'm into archery and all that kind of stuff. Speaker 3: 11:45 Well, uh, I go hunting with this guy they call pigment and turns out pig pig man pigman. In fact, I built his website for him. It's Pigman a t v Dot Com. Check it out Pigman TV.com. So, so I go hunting with them and it turns out like he's got the number one hunting show in the world. And so I'm hunting with him and a bunch of other fans of the show. And these guys know every line, everything he's ever said, every one liner, every joke. And I'm like, these guys are fans. You know what I mean? Like these guys are super fans and so I'm pigment. If you ever thought about starting an inner circle, and he's like, I got no idea what you're talking about. The talk to my manager. So I talked to his manager, we create this thing called pigments, inner circle. Speaker 3: 12:33 You guys can even go look at it. It's got a value stack and everything and a timer and a, we crush it. I mean, people love being in the group and so, uh, it's just like maximum fund. The guy's got a quarter of a million followers on facebook. So it's like now, now I'm, I got a piece of the hunting industry, you know what I mean? It's so cool and it's so cool for them because what I did for them is identified cashflow that you know, didn't even exist. So they're super grateful. It's a win win. So things like that, you know, or I met this other friend of mine that was really powerful, but she just didn't really have a stack. She had a little $10 a month group and I said, let me help you. So we created a partnership and again, got her set up in a shorter period of time. But she went, she knows she went from $3,300 a month on average or first seven months to her first month with using click funnels and having everything set up properly. She cleared $89,000. Speaker 3: 13:37 I mean, that's what I'm saying. Like there are no more rules, you know, like that's the biggest thing I want to help people understand. If I could give anyone any kind of a takeaway is just the reality that you know, there, there, there literally are no more rules anymore as far as the old adage of it takes a lot of time to build a business and it's hard to get a business up and running and look. My first, my first online training program I built took me nine months to build. Okay. I made all the mistakes I thought I made. The first time I recorded it on my computer crashed. I thought it was like God was telling me like, don't do it. I wasn't sure if it was God or the devil, you know what I mean? I can't have in this desire to want to do it. Speaker 3: 14:25 So I kept following that desire and finally launched. It will. Then my next program only took nine weeks. Well then my last program only took nine minutes. You know what I mean? You get faster and faster and faster as you start to build up your skill and you start to see this stuff that doesn't work out. You start to see the things that you do that don't actually matter. So you start to take a more direct approach to what you're doing. So there are no more rules. Like, you know, I always tell people like it's Kinda like we're Ben Bernakie where we can print our own money. I don't like. All I have to do now is think about, okay, how can I serve more people? Okay? And then boom, and nine minutes I can build a landing page to checkout cart. And that is a business. Speaker 3: 15:09 I know that cashflows and people get served and people's lives improves. And that's the point of a businesses to improve someone's life with your product, your service. So that's why I'm saying earlier guys, like it's hard for me to go to sleep at night. I'm not going to do so real quick. Last night you went through talk through that checklist. The three things that you're looking for. Are you like searching these people out? Are they come to you or is it just like relationships, like meeting them in the street or obviously you went hunting with this guy. Are Are they seeking you out? Are you seeking them or is it just building relationships? Yeah, it's typically, it's typically just building relationships. I mean, what, what do you have to understand? Models is like these types of opportunities are literally all around us. It's just our ability to identify it, you know? Speaker 3: 15:53 There's so much untapped potential all around us. There's so many business owners that have that it factor, but they don't know what to do with it. You know, like that's not what they're, they're not the architect, but if you are and you can see what they could become, that's the whole idea behind potential as being able to see what is possible. Then literally like there is, there is a, I don't want to say like unlimited potential, but I don't know any other way to describe it to you. So, but to answer your question, most of them have come through just personal relationships. I mean it was just like, once I was there hunting with them and then saw how these guys were just hanging on every word and I got to see how cool he was. I'm thinking this guy's got it. And I'm like, but I bet he's never thought of this, you know? Speaker 3: 16:40 And there's some times where all I'll talk to people and they don't get it. You know what I mean? Like I even had a, I was trying to get a partnership with this abstract artist that's really, really good. And I was like, man, uh, if you could teach people how to do what you do, obviously they can't do it the way you do it, but if you could teach them how to do it, then you know, okay, well, you know, we, we were kind of starting to move that direction. Well then he's, he's. He said, I don't want to give up, you know, 40 or 30 percent of my company. So I'm thinking, but it's, you know, right now it's a lemonade stand. Speaker 3: 17:15 The problem with our culture in terms of a partnership, as you got way too many people that are watching shark tank, you know what I mean? I'm not giving up not giving up that. So it's like, okay, you know what, God bless you. You know what I mean? Like, I'm not in the convincing business, but it is cool whenever you find someone that is like, yes, I know I'm capable of more. I'm just not sure how to do it. And so i. One thing about me I was going to share with you, miles is like I never want more than 30 percent of their business. I never want more than. Why is that? Part of it is because I want them to have the lion's share because I want them to, uh, you know, because they're going to be the one running the show. But if I've, if I've got a, like all I want to do is help organize the person and share ideas to help them continue to grow. Speaker 3: 18:11 I don't want to be an employee for the business. And that 50 slash 50 or 40 slash 60, I'm, I'm kind of like, they're kind of waiting on me to do stuff and that's, that goes against this idea of a smart business, right? So 70 slash 30 gives them, the lion's share were, they're still, they're still earning an incredible, you know, they're still getting the biggest bang for their buck. And really I've played around with 20 to 30 percent and I'm actually liking 20 a lot. And so that's one thing about it is like I always want to create a win win, but I really want to create a scenario where they went even more. Because I'm looking for lifelong friendships and relationships and partnerships. I'm not looking to, you know, get 50 slash 50 off the bat and then you're trying to look for ways out. You know what I mean? I don't want you to have to find, I don't want you to want to escape. I want you to come. I want us to continue to grow together. So that's kind of my thought process there. Speaker 2: 19:12 Yes, that's super, super cool. I'd sit here. I mean the pigment is like the classic. I mean he is like the perfect, attractive character. Speaker 3: 19:20 I'm telling you. I mean, you want to see his videos. You have ever seen his videos yet. I mean the guy is unbelievable. Speaker 2: 19:27 Seriously. I look at what you've done and it's, it's so cool for me is that kind of sit back and rest on our talking about this this morning. It's weird to build a platform or a software that now fuels other people's businesses and changes the lives of literally millions of people. I mean we're, we're releasing tonight operation underground railroad, the trailer and all that and the document, all that kind of stuff. So that was Kinda what we're talking about. But then it branched off into people like you and what you're doing. I mean, you've got a platform that you. You've totally changed his life. He changed the life of the, of that. Yeah, I mean the stuff that you're doing it, you're, you're having such a massive impact on the lives of so many people and the crazy thing is the more successful you become, you're like, I'm going to give back even more to them, so I only need 20 percent, but it then brings. It attracts so many more people to you. I mean West, congratulations and all of your success and it's just so dang cool. Speaker 3: 20:23 So much guys. I mean obviously I'd greatly appreciate what you guys have built here. What you're doing. I mean it's just, this has changed my life, you know what I mean? Like, uh, what got me into click funnels was I was trying to get a website bill and my guy was taking too long and then once I got it, it wasn't the way I wanted it to. And so I'm like, I've got to find a different way. So I'm like signing up for all these different things. Like, I mean all of them, name them all. That's what I always tell people is like, you know, tell me everything you can think of. I'm telling you, I've tried it. This is the best pound for pound king you got to get with the program. And I'm like, don't wait time. Um, so I mean it's because of this like that I have. It's opened up new creative outlets for me because without this I'm not doing all these things I'm doing without this. I'm still stuck in the mud, you know, without this I'm still, you know, I'm still stuck in the Stone Age compared to where I am now. So thank you guys for. You've done. Speaker 4: 21:21 Yeah. I do have one question for you because we're talking about a lot of successes and everything like that, but you know, when you peel that back, there's usually some experiences in life or some trials or some errors along the way that got you to that point. Can you think of one of those are kind of that big domino for you? Speaker 3: 21:39 What was it or what, what's that? What was it or what were they? I mean, sometimes it's more than just one. Yeah, I mean I'll tell you guys because I know you got to go, but I'll tell you this really crazy quick story. So whenever I first started out being an entrepreneur, I had a really fast rise and so I did what all entrepreneurs do where I think that there's, it's only flow, there's never a right, like when we first started out as an entrepreneur and start making money, we're thinking this is just gonna flow forever. There's never going to be an a. So I bought, I went out, I was 19 year old kid, I bought a dodge viper and then I thought well I can't have just a dodge viper. So I've got a Chevrolet Tahoe. Like it was like driving this green school bus. Speaker 3: 22:21 I don't even have kids. I wasn't even married. So, um, anyways, the. At that time my check starts to go down a little bit and this is like in 2004, my check starts to go down a little bit more, a little bit more, little bit more. Well, pretty soon I have to voluntarily repossessed my dodge viper. At the time I had to take on roommates because I had this house that was too big and so I take on, these roommates will turns out one of them is a con artist, like literally a con artist that the US marshals or after, okay, I get this call one day and this guy goes, hey, I just retired from the shoe business and I want to meet with you about your, your opportunity. I'm thinking what? But okay, so I made up with this guy and he goes, I'm a US marshal. Speaker 3: 23:07 What you say, what you tell me today is going to determine whether you go to go to jail or whether you go away for free. I just show up to the, I think I'm in a business appointment. Look like a little school boy presentation book and everything. They were after my roommate who was a wanted a like identity theft, all this kind of stuff. Oh my gosh. So I started putting me in weird situations and I, I, I got to a point where I was like super, almost like super depressed, right? Like, I mean, my identity had been wrapped up in this car and my success and my fast dries and everybody knew me as a successful person. All of a sudden, you know, I'm on, I'm making like 3000 a month, which is still great income. But from where I was, I mean, that's not enough. Speaker 3: 23:52 I'm, I'm struggling here. And I never went for forget my mentor came over and he said, hey wes, what you're going through as a test and you can either pass this test, but if you don't, you know, God's going to keep giving you the same test. It's just going to look a little bit different. It's just going to seem a little bit different, but you, you gotta pass this test and that's all it is a test and that's why many are called and chosen. And so I'm like, wow, okay. So once I realized like everything is really just a test and the nothing's final, you know, like no matter what happens, my best days are ahead of me. That kind of helped me pull myself up by my bootstraps. And once I, once I went down and came back up from that point on, I've been pretty. Speaker 3: 24:38 I've been pretty bulletproof, you know what I mean? Like I wouldn't say I'm just completely, you know, I don't have bad days or weeks or whatever. I mean last week I lost 16 grand on a, on a just because I forgot what day of the week it was because July fourth came in the middle of, of the week and it kind of confused me. I lost 16 grand. We'll, you know, before this I probably would have freaked out, you know what I mean? But now it's like, okay cool, how do I want to replace that? That's awesome. But I'm like, it's so cool that it's all lifestyle all about perspective. No matter what we go through and everything is just a test. Like it was just a challenge of hey, I'm going to take you, here's 16 grand, gone, what are you going to do now? Let's find out, you know. So that's Kinda how I try to approach it. Miles and obviously, you know, sometimes I got to take my own advice. Sometimes I forget what I'm telling you right now. I have to remember, you know, so it just, it is really nice, but it's great. Speaker 4: 25:33 Awesome. Well thanks. That was kind of like, that was my question that I, I used to have my own podcast and that was the question I always ask because it's interesting to hear kind of what people had to go through to get to where they, at Russell's talking about it, it had a couple of different things that went well and crashed. I don't know if you know Dave, probably the same thing. Me, myself, the exact same thing. We all have those and like you said, you know, how are we going to pick ourselves up? How are we're going to have that outlook and when we come up with that outlook, we do have to remind ourselves, okay, all right. Yeah, I got to keep going or I gotta do this, so I appreciate you telling us that West. Speaker 3: 26:02 Absolutely. Absolutely. That's as we get close to wrapping things up here, any parting words to our listeners here on funnel hacker radio? Hey Man, I think we've said it all today so far and I'll, I mean the kind of summed it up, I mean there are no more rules. Um, if I have a money problem, I don't really have a money problem. All I have as a sales and marketing problem and um, you know, the biggest thing I would say is just a. are we going to edit this? Speaker 4: 26:33 Probably not. I Speaker 3: 26:38 think I literally think I've said it all. I think I've said it all. People want to reach to get a hold of the West [inaudible] Dot Com and entrepreneur.club. Yes, yes sir. You bet you're the place. That's it. That's where you can find me through west. You're so awesome. I love just your attitude. Again, a good old boy from Texas. That's why you used that oil. That's exactly right. Analogy. I knew I grew up. I grew up about a mile or about, uh, about an hour from Midland, Texas. You know, midland had more millionaires per capita. And so this is my oil. Well, you know, I didn't, I wasn't born into a family that had oil, but this is my oil. I can pause. It's no different. The bank account doesn't care. Yeah, it was great talking with you guys as always west. Thanks so much. Bye. We'll talk to you guys are providing. Speaker 5: 27:28 Hey everybody. I was very saddened to hear on Sunday night that Dr. Tom Stanley, author of the famous book "The Millionaire Next Door" and many others, died in a car accident near his home in Atlanta on Sunday afternoon. As I reflected on the impact that he and his work had on my life, I came to realize that he probably had a greater impact on my way of thinking than any other personal finance author I can think of. Not only did he impact my way of thinking, he impacted me personally. I reached out to him in July of 2009 when I was trying to find resources for how to market my services as a financial advisor to the affluent. His response was gracious and professional: -- 07/19/09 Joshua, Can't thank you enough for your kind comments on my blog. Words like yours sustain me. Two of the best rated speeches that I have ever given were to The Top of the Table and later at the Court of the Table (as you know part of the Million Dollar Roundtable Association). Both of those speeches were recorded (audio) and, as I understand it, were distributed by The Million Dollar Roundtable. I would also suggest that you read the chapter on Beverly Bishop in my book, Millionaire Women Next Door. And also Selling to the Affluent should be very valuable to you in your work. I'll know better about my speaking programs in September. Please continue to check my website for updates. Regards and much continued success. Tom Stanley -- More importantly, he saved me from a very expensive mistake by suggesting a specific car for me to purchase. (Details are in the show.) -- 08/19/10 Mr. Stanley, One very brief question: What do you think would be the best kind of car for a financial advisor to drive? I don't believe in "status" cars. But I live and work as a financial advisor in West Palm Beach/Palm Beach/surrounding area! And here, everyone--even/especially the broke people--have status cars. What should I do? :) Joshua -- 08/26/10 Dear Mr. Sheats: If I were in your position, I would buy a previously owned Chevrolet Tahoe or the GMC version in white, leather interior with tinted windows! These cars fit in each and every category of the wealthy. They are among the most popular cars within the "glittering" rich (very affluent) segments. Regards, Tom Stanley -- His communication was professional, courteous, and emminently helpful. Now that I find myself in the position of a somewhat public figure, I'm striving to emulate him. I was disappointed not to be able to get him on the show. I had reached out to him for an interview but his schedule didn't allow it at the time. I had hoped to bring him on in the future but alas, 'tis not to be. In my tribute to him, I have prepared this episode with ten important lessons I learned from him. I learned who the actual millionaires are. I learned the difference between wealth and income. I learned that it's OK to simply be on the way to wealth and that age matters. I learned to be proud of being frugal. I learned to choose my spouse very carefully. I learned not to go with the crowd. I learned to choose my housing very carefully. I learned that you aren't necessarily what you drive. Millionaires drive Fords. I learned how to prepare my children to avoid Economic Outpatient Care. I learned principles, not rules. Enjoy! Joshua
"Back in 2009 I was a sergeant over the K9 unit which consisted of five handler/dog. (location removed) is about five hours away from (location removed) and the two guys were allowed to drive home on Friday nights to spend time with their families on the weekends. They each were issued a Chevrolet Tahoe to patrol and carry each of their dogs. When they are away from (location removed), their radios don't hit the radio tower, but they can still speak to each other car to car, so long they are in close proximity to each other. One Friday night during the six week school they were driving home when the lead officer said something large and black ran towards the side of his Tahoe from the shoulder/ditch area and he thought it was gonna strike the side of the Tahoe but it suddenly cut sharply and started pacing his unit for a short distance as it ran along side him. He said it was on all fours but was no cow or horse, but was as large as one. He soon outran it, and called on the radio to the officer that was following closely behind him and asked him "what was that?!" the trailing officer replied "I don't know!" and although it was strange they didn't get a good look at it and both laughed it off. They only know for sure that it wasn't a horse or a bull. I asked them how fast they were going and the lead officer said "we were hauling ass trying to get home, 80-85 mph, it was late at night already!" this happened on a deserted stretch of highway between (location removed) and (location removed), lots of deer. Neither officer works for us anymore, but the lead officer is my best friend now and is a sergeant at a nearby agency, the other officer is now a narcotics agent for another nearby agency. "
