“...and bad mistakes, I've made a few” -Queen. In late August and early September attorney John Pierce who is known for formerly representing Kyle Rittenhouse and 17 defendants in the January 6th cases, but now known for going missing...absolutely missing. Not only did he go missing but the individual standing in for him in court and in defense-related legal hearings is not an attorney and it's unclear if they will become an attorney based on their own pending criminal cases. The entire circumstance around the reports about this attorney are wild and I will be following up on this story. NOTE- Since recording this podcast John Pierce has reportedly filed a notice with several courts saying that he was hospitalized for 12 days, but not stating why. I will continue following this wild case. The actress and thriller writer Catherine Steadman visits the podcast this week to talk about “The Disappearing Act,” her new suspense novel about the absurdities of Hollywood. Steadman was drawn to the idea of setting a story during pilot season, when actors from all over the world descend on Los Angeles once a year and compete for lead roles in new TV series.“It's a sort of competitive world where friendships are made really quickly, and people will find their nemesis — someone who looks just like them who keeps snatching away parts from them,” she says. “It's a very strange atmosphere but it's very fun. It's kind of like the Vegas of the acting world. You go there, you cash your chips and you have a roll on the table and see what happens. There's all these strangers with the same desires and goals, in the same environment, and they really are up against each other. It's kind of a ‘Hunger Games' situation.”Michael Dobbs visits the podcast to talk about his new book, “King Richard,” which finds fresh things to say about President Richard Nixon and Watergate. Dobbs discusses writing about a story that's been told many times, all in the shadow of perhaps the best-known Watergate book, “All the President's Men,” by Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein.“That's the story of two reporters pursing this scandal into the White House and trying to figure out what was going on in the White House,” Dobbs says. “And now 50 years later — because we have access to these extraordinary materials, particularly Nixon's own tape-recorded conversations — one can tell the story from the inside rather than the outside. We're never again going to get such an intimate look at a president facing an existential crisis, as it's possible to get with Richard Nixon.”Also on this week's episode, Tina Jordan looks back at Book Review history as it celebrates its 125th anniversary, Alexandra Alter has news from the publishing world, and Parul Sehgal and Jennifer Szalai talk about books they've recently reviewed. Pamela Paul is the host. Here are the books discussed by the Times's critics this week:“Wayward” by Dana Spiotta“Nightmare Scenario: Inside the Trump Administration's Response to the Pandemic That Changed History” by Yasmeen Abutaleb and Damian Paletta

Well, let’s just address the elephant in the room...I've been "missing" for several months. In this episode, I reveal what's been going on, what I'm working on, and what my 2021 plans are. It's probably not what you're expecting! After listening to this episode, tell me: What are your goals or wishes for 2021? Are there activities you plan NOT to do in order to make space or time for new ones that will serve you better? Florence de Changy’s recently released book ‘The Disappearing Act’ charts the disappearance of flight MH370, which took off from Kuala Lumpur heading for Beijing on 8 March, 2014, and was never, apparently, seen again. The French journalist spent seven years investigating this story and compiling a wealth of evidence to support her theory of what actually happened that day.
Tigers coach Cuonzo Martin was left questioning his team's effort level after a 21-point thumping at Ole Miss, which arrived just one game after the Tigers had toppled No. 10 Alabama. What happened? In this edition of the Eye On The Tigers Podcast, Mizzou beat writer Dave Matter and sports columnist Ben Frederickson pick up the pieces, and put the defeat into the proper perspective in terms of how the loss could affect the Tigers' NCAA Tournament outlook. Matter and Frederickson also remember Terez Paylor, a prominent sports writer who passed away this week. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

So my friends. I have a question for you. In the key areas of your life. Marriage, family, ministry, work, Is there any area where you are shrinking back? Where you are not showing up? Where have you have disappeared because you are hurt, angry, frustrated? Are you willing to work through and seek forgiveness from anyone you many have hurt? Can you extend forgiveness to anyone who has hurt you and choose to move in more peace and freedom? These are all choices we make. I am choosing to not allow those around me who don’t know who there were created to be (yet) dictate how I operate in who I am created to be.

On today's episode, Colin seems to really like the Lakers chemistry, but is worried about Anthony Davis seeming to disappear in 4th Quarters. Zion Williamson is on a minutes restriction, and not playing him down the stretch may cost the Pelicans a playoff spot. Tom Brady & Tampa Bay to the Super Bowl isn't as crazy as some would like to make it seem. The show is also joined by a slew of guest such as Ric Bucher, Chris Webber, Sam Amick, Rob Parker and Jason Mcintyre. Learn more about your ad-choices at https://news.iheart.com/podcast-advertisers

As each region embraces ubiquitous and embedded payments through superapps, QR codes, NFC, wearables, and voice, the rise of card-not-present and card-on-file payments only increases. Banks, retailers and consumers must further optimize activities that could potentially disrupt their ability to transact, whether through online or mobile commerce, or setting up recurring subscriptions like Netflix and Amazon Prime. What challenges does this create for the payment ecosystem?By 2023, retailers could lose $130 billion in revenue on fraudulent card-not-present transactions. What does it mean for our user experience if payments break, and consumers abandon virtual shopping carts, or invisible spending gets out of control? Learn more about where payments are headed in this week’s episode of One Vision where Theo and Bradley talk to Michele Tivey, Co-Founder and CEO at Payometry.
