We heard great responses from across the country. Our good mates at Wickes helped someone out in need and we heard from one of our Citreon Trade Families too, so it was a busy show!Plus, there's also the pub lunch quiz for your chance to bag yourself 6 points.Catch Clive On Fix Radio Monday - Thursday 12 PM - 3 PM Across The UK On DAB Radio And Online At https://www.fixradio.co.uk/

In this episode, I want to talk directly to you about a tough question: What do you do when the place that once made you proud now just makes you tired?.I know how it feels, especially in the nursing profession, to be present but disconnected. I want you to know that you're not broken, and you are enough. We'll talk about some of the reasons joy fades in healthcare, from the high emotional labor to the lack of recognition and support. My goal is to give you practical ways to reignite your passion right where you are, without quitting or waiting for things to change.I'll share a simple tool I call the "three joy touch points" to help you reconnect with meaning before, during, and after your shift. We'll also look at how to re-engage with your purpose by looking in the mirror with intention and speaking to yourself with grace and love.

A lot of people have a dream job that they really want to do. Many people don't pursue it. There are lots of reasons for staying where you are instead of taking the leap into the unknown. Some of the reasons, like money or location, are valid. But some of the reasons, like the one given in this episode aren't really barriers. Ever spotted your dream company online only to realise they aren't advertising any roles? It can feel like there's no way in, but what if you could create your own opportunity? In this week's episode, Sarah and Emma break down how to “shoot your shot” with a company when there isn't a job listed. From crafting a specific, targeted pitch to finding the right person to email, we cover everything you need to know to get your name noticed. We'll walk through the do's and don'ts, how to research the company and role, and the best ways to follow up so you stay on their radar. Plus, we explain when this strategy is a good idea and when it might be a long shot.Disclaimer: This is a “shoot your shot” approach. It doesn't guarantee outcomes. You might not get a response, and that's normal. The goal is to put yourself on the company's radar, not to expect a job offer.

What happens when you finally land your dream job…and then realise it no longer fits the life you want? Lize Ratliff spent a decade at Mamamia and rose to Head of Podcasts, but when motherhood arrived she felt the pull of something different. In this candid chat with Kelly and Kee, Lize shares why she left Sydney, swapped a high-pressure career for Newcastle’s slower pace, and went back to uni to become a teacher. It’s a refreshingly honest conversation about identity, ambition, and choosing family and freedom over titles - and why that might be the boldest career move of all. On this episode, Travis and his producer Eric break down why submitting 500 resumes online won't land most people a job in today's hyper-competitive market. Instead, they explore how networking, personal branding, and creative job-seeking strategies dramatically increase the odds of making money and landing great opportunities. The problem with modern job boards: why mass resume-sending leads to “needle-in-a-haystack” odds and why employers are overwhelmed by flooded inboxes. The game-changing power of networking: 54% to 85% of jobs are filled thanks to personal connections, and up to 70% are never even advertised publicly. How personal branding goes beyond social media influencer status—your “brand” is your reputation, relationships, and the unique value you bring to your network and industry. Real-world advice: Stand out by doing something extraordinary—such as proactively completing part of the job, offering solutions, or using creative tactics instead of ordinary cold applications. Why showing authentic initiative (e.g., actually delivering a useful service up-front, or even a resume in a box of donuts) secures far more opportunities than just “following the rules.” Action steps for job seekers: target fewer companies, do real research, deliver value in the first contact, and leverage every connection you have. 1. Building and leveraging a real personal brand and network is now the main path to most high-quality jobs and freelance gigs; resume blasts rarely succeed.2. Extraordinary effort (showing real initiative, not just “hustle”) is what consistently leads to extraordinary results—instead of just landing in the generic job-seeker pile.3. The skills that get you hired are directly tied to how you show up: people hire the value and energy they've actually seen, not just the claims on your resume. “If everybody's doing it, do something different. That's the only way to get extraordinary results.” “The job market's changed: your network, value, and brand matter more than any stack of resumes.”

We loved chatting to Stu....and you're going to love learning from this GOLD taken from our recent episode: What happens when a founder steps back from doing everything and instead builds a team that can take the business further than they ever could alone? In this 5-minute clip, Stu Macdonald, founder of ManiLife Peanut Butter, shares why building their own factory was a turning point, not just for product quality and innovation, but for company culture.Stu opens up about:- Why making their own product was essential for both quality and commercial success.- The power of trusting great people to lead where he couldn't.- The difference between working “insanely hard” versus building a business that hums.- His raw experience with burnout and the shift that saved both him and the company. This is a powerful reminder that YOU, the FOUNDERS, perhaps DON'T don't need to do it all...or at least that you can CHOOSE to work towards a time when you're NOT doing it all. The right team, the right timing, and the right role for you can play to your strengths and drive even stronger growth. This clip was selected and hand-picked by the brilliant team at MKJ Ignite, the FMCG recruitment experts helping challenger brands grow with the right people in the right roles, and is full of practical people insights. Directors Billy, Paul, and Immy have combed through the Brand Growth Heroes archives to bring you the most valuable founder wisdom on hiring and scaling teams that THRIVE.A new 5-minute episode drops every two weeks — so make sure to HIT FOLLOW and don't miss the next one.If you're wondering whether or not you need help with your recruitment, or would like to ask for some advice, you can e-mail Billy directly at billy.maddock@mkj-ignite.co.ukConnect with Billy Maddock on LinkedInConnect with Immy Southwell on LinkedInConnect with Paul Jones on LinkedInFollow MKJ Ignite on InstagramConnect with MKJ Ignite on LinkedIn
