Ever wondered what it's like to be the unwitting star of your own comedy sketch while navigating geese-filled streets? Take a trip with us to Peoria, Illinois, where we recount the hilarity of geese battling the current, the oddities of human behavior in public, and the unexpected soundtrack of a passing truck. We even contemplate how movies like "Drillbit Taylor" and "Field of Dreams" twist our views on dreams and business. All this while dodging a wedding party and reminiscing about the awkwardness of doing the Macarena in gym class.Remember the St Paul Panthers? Our Catholic baseball team was more like a comedy troupe than athletes, but the laughs were endless. Relive the chaos of our games, where our coach abandoned ship mid-game and teammates like Dalton and Tony Pizella brought their own unique flair to the field. From bizarre practices to an unforgettable Florida trip, the antics of our youth culminated in a misfired grounder that left Tony's dad hilariously entangled in the action. Finally, dive into the exhilarating world of live music with our fanboy escapades at a concert, including dressing up as Cocaine Bobby and teetering on the edge of a stage jump. Feel the electrifying energy of bands like The Used and Story of the Year, as we navigate backstage drama and almost tear-inducing moments. Thanks to a chill tour guy named Sheep, we even snuck behind the scenes, adding a layer of chaos and humor to the experience. Join us for a rollercoaster of emotions and backstage shenanigans that make the world of live music unforgettable.

They are most known for their 1998 debut album, "How to Operate With a Blown Mind," which featured the song "Battle Flag", featuring Pigeonhed. That song was featured on tv shows such as ER, Sopranos, and films such as, Coyote Ugly, Very Bad Things, Drillbit Taylor and much more. Morgan Patterson is a longtime location manager who has worked on such varied films as “Top Gun: Maverick,” “Ford v Ferrari,” “Iron Man 3,” “The Nice Guys” and “Death at a Funeral.” He talks all about the juggling his job requires on the latest A La Carte conversation. Morgan discusses growing up in Westchester County north of New York City with parents who were immigrants from South Africa, beginning his career getting hands-on experience doing editing and post-production, starting as a location manager in the Catskills on the 2006 drama “Stephanie Daley” and beginning work in Los Angeles on “Drillbit Taylor.” Morgan describes how he scouts based on what’s in the script, what goes into modifying a location to make the space work for a shoot and then returning it to its original state, and coordinating with various departments on their needs. And of course I had to ask him about working with Tom Cruise on the upcoming “Top Gun” sequel. His best advice: Knowing how to talk to people is half the job. This was a really interesting one, especially if you’re curious about the nuts and bolts of filmmaking. Enjoy.

There are so many inspiring podcasts with fabulous stars out there. But their careers feel light years away from ours, don’t they? Wouldn’t it be great to hear from the guy who just booked his first pilot? Or the kid finally doing a studio pic after a bunch of low budget indies? Or the woman who’s been a series regular a few times but is only now becoming a name? What about the guy who’s been on a show for years and you know his face but what’shisnameagain? Or that actress who is now a freakin’ showrunner???? How’d THEY do it, right? How did they transition from relative obscurity, bartending and bottle service, to buying that house in Brentwood? We’re producing “Kahnversations,” a podcast that provides access to THOSE people -- your immediate predecessors -- so that you can learn from them while their battle scars are still fresh. In “Kahnversations,” our own Ryan Bailey interviews some of Lesly Kahn & Company’s working actors, directors, and writers in order to learn how they got started in Hollywood, the challenges and hurdles they faced, and how they overcame the odds. (They also dish out some crazy stories!) Listen in and enjoy as these entertainers speak candidly about their paths, processes, and experiences. You might even hear a bit about how Lesly and the Kahnstitute have influenced and shaped their careers.
