Episode 61 featuring singer Liz Eldredge from the band Even In Blackouts. This is Liz’s first solo interview in her 19 year career with EIB, so it is something special. In this interview we talk about The Southside of Chicago and it’s Children’s Choir, visiting the Vatican, life on the road, the nurturing of a strange punk acoustic style, the benefits of earplugs on singing stoned, Spanish Television, a ten year hiatus and her writing relationship with the members of her band. I wiil admit this particular podcast is even more personal than usual, Liz is my ling time friend and my front woman for my band, and that private relationship of course commingling with my interview style in this podcast. I hope you enjoy it. www.jugheadsbasementpodcast.com
Luke McNeill talks to Jughead about The Copyrights, Hospital Job, his actual job as a lawyer, Screeching Weasel, Even In Blackouts, Songwriting and much much more! www.jugheadsbasementpodcast.com
Episode 46 with Gub Scott Conway and Todd Pot. Gub of Even In Blackouts, Ivy League, Ghost Forest, and the highly influential band Gauge, which helped to inspire a generation of EMO bands around the world and Todd in his home, in his lava lit tub, eating cherries, Tod was the vocalist and lyricist for Apocalypse Hoboken and also The House That Gloria Vanderbilt, among many others. Our conversation is far reaching. This particular episode took off amongst my facebook friends, and is still the most watched episode of the Live Quarantine Hour. The dialogue is funny, historical and philosophical, talking about such things as the meaning of Rebellion, EMO music, talks of conflict between Apocalypse Hoboken and Screeching Weasel and we discuss in length the Chicago Punk Scene in the 80s and 90s.

We pick up where we left off in Episode 28 and bring you the Mable Syndrome Roadtrip to 350 Part 2. This one is extra-special because we talk about our experience attending a private party/acoustic show at John Jughead's house. The performances by Even in Blackouts, Dr Frank, and Dan Vapid had Jessica in tears and fumbling for words. This is a good one! Don't miss it. Bands discussed: Screeching Weasel, Even in Blackouts, The Mr T Experience, and many more. Song: Every Night by Even In Blackouts (originally by Screeching Weasel)
Episode 12 features a very special guest: John Jughead Pierson, aka "Jughead", a founding member of the iconic punk band, Screeching Weasel. He opens up about his recent 50th birthday bash and the cool stuff he's currently working on. He also shares some great stories about the early days of Screeching Weasel. John's recent band, Even In Blackouts, is one of our favs, so we gush about that and the singer, Liz. John Jughead is one of the nicest, most sincere and smart punk rockers out there (evident in his written piece, "The Punk Rock Heart" which we discuss at length) and we are thrilled to release this episode with him. Enjoy! Song: Even in Blackouts, Motives Misunderstood
Episode 18 The Promise Ring’s Nothing Feels Good Released October 14 1997 I came to the Promise Ring late in their career, but their 2nd full length record, Nothing Feels Good, quickly became one of my most played records. I believe this to be one of the most solid records from beginning to end in all of the post punk genres of which I am familiar. This podcast features individual interviews with all of the band members appearing on Nothing Feels Good, Singer/Songwriter Davey von Bholen, Second Guitarist Jason Gnewikow, Drummer Dan Didier, and Bassist Scott Beschta. This episode also includes an interview with Gub Scott Conway of Gauge, Screeching Weasel, and Even In Blackouts. Plus two written audio pieces by Promise Ring fans Rust Belt Jessie and Joe Jacob. There is much hard work put into these podcasts to attempt to make them as thorough as possible. If you are enjoying the products of this hard work on a consistent basis please share with others or donate some cash to the cause.
