Many high-achieving women find themselves in a cycle of constant striving, which can lead to exhaustion and burnout. Key Takeaways: 1. Shift from Scarcity to Abundance: True success comes from a place of trust and abundance, not from constantly proving your worth through relentless striving. 2. Embrace Authenticity: Letting go of the need to control every outcome allows you to align with your natural rhythm, attracting success without exhaustion. 3. Celebrate the Journey: Success isn't just about reaching goals; it's about enjoying the journey and acknowledging your achievements along the way. Sometimes, we notice feelings that are unpleasant, but that doesn't mean that they are "bad." Feelings are neutral, but what you think about them and how you manage them can lead to clarity or shame. Choosing not to label something that we are made by God to experience can make the journey easier when tough times come.

Now that we're more than halfway into October, it's time to start thinking about the upcoming winter and holiday seasons because there's a lot to be said about our moods, emotions, and expectations during that time of the year. In this episode, I share why it's important to think about these things now rather than waiting until we're already in the winter and holiday seasons, why these seasons are so challenging for us emotionally, and some things we can do to make this time more enjoyable and less stressful. One thing that many people are confused about is how to manage and understand our emotions. Men are supposed to suppress and hide their emotions. Supposedly women put their emotions on full display – especially depending on what “time of the month” it is, not all women, but many. Neither of these approaches are healthy. So, what should we do? Kim Korte, my guest this week, has an interesting perspective on these topics and much more. Join us for our conversation and see what you think
Parents everywhere will be familiar with the challenges of young children and emotional regulation. As they are still developing the skills of self-regulation, it's typical for our children to experience bouts of frustration, anger, overwhelm, meltdown and to have the odd day when things are just a little fragile! Add in a global pandemic, some chronic uncertainty and changes in daily lifestyle and you've got yourself a perfect storm. It can be difficult to know how best to support our children through their struggles with emotion regulation. Is what you're saying helpful? Why do things seem to click some days, but not others? Are there things you can be doing to better support them (& minimise those big outburts!?). We are thrilled to welcome Clinical Psychologist Emily Hanlon, a.k.a The Playful Psychologist, to chat about supporting our children with healthy emotion regulation. Emily shares some brilliant insights and fun tips for things you can be doing at home with your child that don't require expensive resources or a training manual. This is valuable information for all parents, but especially those who's little ones might be having a tricky time during the current climate. Healthy emotions happen through love-shaped habits.
What is the connection between healthy emotions and healthy skin? We live in a society that expects us to stuff our emotions and "get over it" yet our emotions have energy which can get stored in the cells of our body. Releasing emotions that no longer serve you and reprogramming your negative thoughts can help you live life to the fullest AND may help make your skin more beautiful!
Some people seem to have no emotions while others fall apart like a two dollar suitcase over trivial issues. The condition of your emotions, like the condition of your body, depend on what you feed them. Workshops on healthy relationships have been held at numerous schools and youth facilities in Orange County, and during 2008, the program reached more than 1,200 teens. Laura's House also has a website designed to assist teens who are seeking information on healthy relationships. Teens can visit http://www.laurashouse.org/lhteen/ for more information. They can also become a fan of Laura’s House on MySpace and Facebook, and learn more about our programs through videos posted on YouTube. The purpose of this Podcast is to introduce listeners to the H.E.A.R.T. program and share recent statistics on teen domestic violence.
