What are affirmations, what are the benefits and how can you use them as a GTD'er? In this episode, you'll hear Morten and Lars' perspectives on affirmations and learn how to use them yourself. You'll get a lot of ideas for how to craft your own and also the different ways you can implement using them. We always welcome episode feedback/suggestions, but we're also still looking to hear YOUR stories about WHEN GTD HELPED YOU THE MOST? It seems that most GTD'ers have one (or more) episodes in their lives, where GTD really helped them out. We'd like to do an episode where we share our own such stories, but we really also want to hear your stories, so please send them to us at podcast@gtdnordic.dk. And as always, a quick reminder that you can learn more about GTD in the Nordics at GTDnordic.com and find cool GTD gear at GTDshop.com.
Lars Kroijer is a very smart man. He graduated Magna cum Laude from Harvard University with a degree in economics and received an MBA from Harvard Business School. He's a former hedge-fund manager who currently serves on the advisory board of alternative investment funds in London, New York, Mumbai, and Hong Kong. He is the founder and managing director of AlliedCrowds.com – the leading directory and aggregator of alternative capital into the world’s 132 lower and middle income countries. And to top it all off, he is the author of two books on finance: "Money Mavericks - Confessions of a Hedge Fund Manager" “Investing Demystified – How to Invest without Speculation and Sleepless Nights” Lars holds the belief that is almost impossible for the majority of investors to beat the market in the long-run. So in the episode, we discuss: Lars' views on the London property market, and his thoughts on property as an asset class what a hedge-fund manager actually does, and the definition of a market neutral special situations fund Lars' investing philosophy why Lars' believes the majority of investors have no chance of beating the market in the long-run, and what portfolio they can create to invest over the long-term, that is simple and cheap plus much, much more! I had tremendous fun talking to philosopher and novelist Lars Iyer. We discussed Nietzsche in light of Lars' new novel Nietzsche and the Burbs. We discussed many of Nietzsche's famous concepts such as übermensh, amor fati and suffering, affirmation, nihilism and eternal recurrence. As well, we touched on Maurice Blanchot, Simone Weil, The Invisible Committee and disco! Lars is a a Reader in Creative Writing and Subject Head of Creative Writing at Newcastle University. He is the author of several academic articles and two monographs on Blanchot - Blanchot’s Vigilance: Literature, Phenomenology and the Ethical and Blanchot’s Communism: Art, Philosophy and the Political.(Palgrave Macmillan 2004, 2005). He is the author of The Spurious Trilogy (Spurious, Dogma and Exodus) with Melville House Publishing and now Nietzsche and the Burbs (2020). One of the most important things you can do in life to continue learning is to read. Reading (or listening) to books is one of the most effective ways to further your education. Any topic you can think of may easily have thousands and thousands of different authors offering their perspective and experience to whoever dares to open the pages of the books they write. Reading into topics that we enjoy keeps the information fresh in our minds. Book number 1 - the Bible. Lars was saved in 2009. He stresses that the past few years, as he has gained time and money freedom, one of the things that it has allowed him to do is spend more time in the word. Book number 2 - Atomic Habits by James Clear this book is quoted a lot in many of the podcast episodes you might have heard here. This book offers very good insight on how to not only get rid of bad habits, but even replace those bad habits with good ones. Book number 3 - Man In The Mirror by Patrick Morley Geared towards men, this book goes into solving the 24 problems that men face. Book number 4 - Profit First by Mike McCallowitz Profit is a habit, not an event. Many times people get excited about one day having hopes of making a million dollars in their business. This book puts that into perspective - not that it won't happen, but in order for it TO happen, you have to have the right attitude. Book number 5 - Eat To Live by Joel Fuhrman Health is just as important as systems to a team leader. This book talks about the benefits of a plant-based diet - and while it isn't trying to sell you on going vegan, it does present some compelling evidence and research for why plants are such and important part of our diets. Book number 6 - Halftime by Bob Buford How do you go from success to significance? We all want to leave a legacy, or be remembered for something that we did that left a mark on our community, or the world. move up some of the things you have scheduled for the fourth quarter of your life, and get started on it in the third quarter. Why wait? Book number 7 - Turning Pro by Steven Cressfield The difference between amateurs and professionals - you'll learn how to achieve in high level in a specific area of your life. The attitude differences, work ethic differences, and things that set pros apart from rookies. Book number 8 - Five Dysfunctions Of A Team by Patrick Lencioni A good book to read to apply to your business if you're a team leader. It will help you recognize issues you might have with your team, as well as what you can do to remedy them. Book number 9 - E-Myth Revisited by Michael Gerber Talks about the technician, manager, entrepreneur - it seems like all of our time in real estate is consumed by being the technician, and none of it is spent being the manager or the entrepreneur. We are the one in the business that's doing all the "stuff". "How would I think about my business differently if I had to replicate it 10,000 times"? Book number 10 - The Millionaire Next Door by Thomas Stanley The surprising secrets of America's wealthy - your neighbor may be a millionaire and you might never know. This book talks about the different ways that wealthy people show up and act, even blending in with the rest of us. They're successes may not be great, instead a series of small wins that put them ahead of the pack. These books give you a good sense of Lars' foundation, and some of the systems that we put in place with members of Real Estate B-School. Their successes are our successes.
Mill-Life online Mill-Life på Facebook Mill-Life på Instagram Støt Plantetinget på 10er
On this episode, we go back to our roots and talk about two awful ones, how P-51 DRAGON FIGHTER could have been great if it'd been an actual movie, how Hollywood needs more weird movies, how DWARVES OF DRAGON MOUNTAIN is just so, so bad, some bad puns, and Lars' inability to keep his son's name straight!
This episode we talk about the missed opportunites of INKHEART and by extension Last Action Hero, how utterly Bananas ROBIN HOOD(2018) is and how it seems like everyone kinda missed the point of it, Lars' kids' first comiccon, and how we're kinda sorta totally boring!
In this episode we get a little more familiar with one of Lars' projects, "Bleeding Steel and Steel" (Camille and Nate's Personal favorite of Lars' stories). We take a fun dive into how Lars has blended elements of Steampunk and Feudal Japan to create a refreshing story that puts a whole new twist on the Steampunk Genre.
We're back with another year in the life of Metallica, 1998! This was an insanely busy year for the band. 4 singles were released, garage inc. was released, Cunning Stunts came out on DVD, 1 marriage, 2 Metallikids were born, Jason got a head injury, Kirk had an emergency appendectomy and Lars' mother unfortunately passed away. In this episode Nick and Lars talk about the grind of producing a powerful, game changing 2nd album. Following their 1st album, Stargazer, will be a task in itself let alone maintaining ultra focus after extreme success in 2018. This episode also dives into Lars' spiritual practice which explains a lot about his unique, one of a kind personality.
You Were Never Really Here".
Surprising nobody, Metallica is a band that has done entirely too many bad and stupid things to fit them all in one episode. Need more reasons why Metallica sucks? Here's our Part Two! Last week, Mark and Tyler got into how this Metallica mess was made - not a safe space for Megadeth fans - as well as Lars' war on Napster. This week, it's a deep dive into Post-Haircut Metallica. Or as deep as you can go with these mental giants...

It's an episode devoted to Lars with Matthew Moy, the voice of Lars, and Storyboard Artist Lamar Abrams (who also happens to be the voice of Buck Dewey). Hear about "Bingo Bongo," Lar's Pilipino heritage & love of Ube, and his complicated relationships with Sadie and Steven. You'll also discover the original ideas for Lars' brief death and quick resurrection, his adventures in space, and what both Lamar and Matthew wish for Lars' future (might it involve his own song?)!
Episode 155 (Monday 12 November) Lars Finanger is another case study showing how when you don't have a lot of available time to train, you need to be very smart and make the most with the time you have. Lars finished Ironman Texas 2017 in a sub-9:30 time, on less than 9 hours of training per week. The most surprising thing about his training is that roughly 40% of it was swimming! IN THIS EPISODE YOU'LL LEARN ABOUT: -A big-picture overview of Lars' build to Ironman Texas -An example of a typical training week for him (which was always less than 9 hours) -Factors outside of the actual Ironman training that Lars focused on to achieve a fast time -Lars' top tips for time-crunched age-groupers and their Ironman training -Swimrun events in the US: Lars is the race director of Casco Bay Islands, Boston Harbor Islands, and San Juan Islands SHOWNOTES: https://scientifictriathlon.com/tts155/ THAT TRIATHLON SHOW HOMEPAGE: www.thattriathlonshow.com SPONSORS: Stac - The Stac Zero is the world's quietest bike trainer. Every Monday, Therapist Ryan Engelstad, and Producer Mike Graham, take an example from Pop Culture (i.e. Books, Movies, TV Shows) that features a Mental Health problem, and determine if the portrayal is accurate and something we can use as an example for those with questions or even curiosity, or if the depiction of the issue is exaggerated and just for entertainment. Lars, played by actor, Ryan Gosling, has an obvious mental health issue in this movie, and Ryan (Engelstad, not Gosling) thinks it shows signs of Schizoid Personality Disorder. Personality disorders are complicated in that, the person with the disorder, is usually unaware. In "Lars and the Real Girl", Lars believes that a full-sized, plastic doll is a real person, and his girlfriend. Mike has a lot of questions as to the reality of Lars' delusion and how his family, and the community around him, reacts. Ryan and Mike talk a lot about finding support, and how people would actually react to this in real life. Also, they give us a bit about their backgrounds and how they met, and Mike lets the world know, that he is a sufferer of Mental Illness himself; a person diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder and Major Depressive Disorder. Mike believes things are getting much easier as far as public opinion of Mental Health is concerned, but knows there is a lot of work to do, yet. It's Mental Health Awareness Week, and the goal of Pop Psych 101, is to aid in the conversation and help normalize it's discussion. As usual, to end the Episode, Ryan rates the portrayal of the Mental Health issue at hand on a scale of 1 to 5, using "Real Girls" as his rating system, this time. Mike rates the movie, as a movie, on a scale of 1 to 5 stars. Find Us: Mental Health Podcast | Pop Psych 101 We have a Blog! Ryan always had a Blog! Four preachers get together and discuss 20 ideas in 20 minutes different concepts regarding preaching. Gregg Strawn is the pulpit minister at Circle Church of Christ in Corvallis, Larry Coburn is Lars' father and was the interim preaching minister at the Eugene Church of Christ, and Jason Swick was the Campus Minister at Circle Church of Christ and now the preaching minister at the Prineville Church of Christ. All three are mentors of Lars' and have over 100 years combined preaching experience. They talk about shifts they have made in preaching and what it means to people of faith.

The American Revolution changed the course of the British Empire and the world. Beginning in 1775 with the 'first shots' at Lexington and Concord between British Redcoats and Patriot Colonists, the war raged in earnest until the Battle of Yorktown in 1781, when General Cornwallis surrendered his force to the sound of 'The World Turned Upside Down'. The British presence in New York lingered until 1783, following the Treaty of Paris and the formal British recognition of American Independence. In this insightful episode, American author Lars D.H. Hebdor (@LarsDHHebdor) analyses the American Revolution and its prelude in an exclusive interview. Lars is undoubtedly an authority on the matter; he has published numerous works on the Revolution and aims to publish a novel on the conflict for each of the American States. Lars' new novel, 'The Freedman', has just been released via Amazon and all good digital formats, as well as print. Check out his website at www.larsdhhebdor.com. In addition, you can consider the full range of his publications at https://www.amazon.com/Lars-D.-H.-Hedbor/e/B001K8M13U. For terms of use, please visit www.versushistory.com

Take a trip with us to Denmark, as we discuss all things Lars! We get into so many things about our favorite (Recently Knighted) Danish friend. Without Sir Lars, there would be no Metallica. Who knows if the metal genre would have even taken off without Lars' help and we thank him for that. Love him or hate him, he is just as important to Metallica as James' songwriting. Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle discuss the new Hulu documentary Batman & Bill. They also discuss the late, great Powers Boothe, Lars' new endorsement deal and Joel's bizarre complaint about a recent episode of Better Call Saul.
This is Metallica's first time at having cameras surrounding them almost full time. Sure, we had 'Cliff Em All' to watch, but this is showing us what happens behind closed doors. Of course, behind those closed doors is what would become their biggest record to date, The Black Album. In this episode we run through the documentary and give our thoughts on things like their departure from the old sound, the addition of Jason's bass, Hetfield's progression as a songwriter, Lars' thunderous drum tracks, Kirk getting his ass kicked on The Unforgiven and of course...Bob Rock's button up shirts and turtle necks. Joel and Lars talk about a wide range of subjects, including Lars' gay thoughts, the mysterious strangers that helped both of them recently, Joel's middle school infatuation with Andrew Lloyd Webber's maligned New Starlight Express and a magical room full of puppies.
Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle dive into Joel's new world of luxury and intrigue. They also talk about Lars' new dog, Michael Douglas' obsession with HPV-related cancers and their favorite film composers.
Lars Rutz grew up in the East Berlin bohemian scene in communist Germany in the 80s. Like a lot of people in the East, he wanted to leave. But East Germany was a police state, with an ever-present spy agency, the Stasi. What is it like to try to escape a place like that? And what is it like to read what the spies wrote about you, years later? Links from this episode: The Stasi really did have a library of smells. Snowden really did have a statue in Berlin, along with Chelsea Manning and Julian Assange. Though they started in Berlin, the three statues are part of an art project, Anything to Say, which is touring the world. Lars' lawyer was Wolfgang Vogel, who was the other lawyer in Bridge of Spies. (Not the one played by Tom Hanks.) Lars was suggested, accidentally, by Cassie Findlay. Much of this story was originally presented by Lars at a talk for the Australian Society of Archivists. It's Bonus Song Thursday! Brian and Bill continue talk about Metallica, jumping 10 years ahead from 1986's Master of Puppets to "Hero of the Day" from 1996's Load. We discuss the evolution in the band's sound and image, how their alternative leaning contemporaries influenced their sound (maybe bringing in some Bowie influence?), and more about Lars' heavy kick drum. Also, we read a bunch of listener emails, first tackling some singers who reference a person/character in multiple songs, then we finally get an answer to what the heck dream pop is, and then blogger Jeff Fiedler finally clues us in to what the heck was going on with Queen and Elektra Records! Additionally, we read an open letter from one listener to all the others, that makes Jared my "Hero of the Day."

Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle are once again joined by their good friends Christopher Scarborough and Joseph Taylor from The Curioso. The gang talks about Lars' bizarre day, Chris' bizarre podcast listening habits and that bizarre three-seashells gag from Demolition Man.
Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle are joined once again by Molly Regan (Joel's fiancee and the voice you can often hear laughing in the background during shows). The three of them broadcast live from inside a (supposedly) haunted house. They talk about ghost hunting shows, real scientists who are attempting to create zombies and, for some reason, quite a bit about Lars' butt.
Joel Murphy and Lars Periwinkle are joined by Prescott Gaylord and Jacq Jones, the hosts of 4-Play, a live comedy show all about sexuality. They discuss Lars' pube shaving mishap, myths they heard about sex growing up and B.o.B., the rapper who is feuding with Neil DeGrasse Tyson over whether or not the earth is flat. And, Joel brings back the Netflix Game.
On this episode of INSIDE MUSIC, host James Shotwell calls MC Lars to discuss his new album, The Zombie Dinosaur LP. Lars and James go way back, but like most friends in the music business they rarely have a chance to sit down and chat with one another. This conversation covers the release of Lars' new record, the inspiration behind the material, and the future outlook of the nerdcore community. The Zombie Dinosaur LP is available now.

Eliana's dispatch from a Salt Lake City car show, Noah buys gloves, and Lars' scab falls off. Megaboom, our lives are interesting!
Lars is left alone with a microphone. Will he know what to do? Will he eat it? Will anyone survive? Find out, on Lars' Show.
Eliana's new fitness coach, Noah's house full of clowns, Lars' internet solicitation, a Polish wine merchant, and the Emmy's.
Lars' explores life in crutches, Kevin goes on the saddest date, and no one can figure out San Diego.
Russia has all of the fun when a giant comet explodes in the north, Lars' love explodes all over Valentines Day with a hand made cat card, and Patrick Baker joins us for a brand new version of Dead Virgins I'd Like to Fuck. Noah and Patrick go to Hooters, Brent goes to Jumbos, and the Pope goes home. Also, play along with Noah's new game "Pope or Nope." Won't you let me take you on a Poo Cruise?
Merry Chranaukamadan and Happy Whatever You Believe. To celebrate the festive season Eliana gets a tattoo, Lars' gets flees, and Noah gets a broken milk frother.
Today's show addresses the Mars Rover, a crazed billionaire hiding in the jungles of Brazil, and Lars' new cat.
Lars' pedal to the metal jet set hurry hurry lifestyle leaves him no time to eat... a vegetable. What is a poor omnivore to do? North Korea's tiny dictator gets married and Mitt Romney makes everyone feel bad. Finally, Noah mispronounces the name of a great ape and we make fun of him.
LISTEN HERE!! Eliana is back from the road and still afraid of clowns and weddings. Lars' dad has a dream, J.P. Morgan blows 2 billion, and Brent wants to Scrooge McDuck a vault full of T-Rex bones.
Brent gets used to his new life at the hotel. Lars gets used to his new life applying for temp jobs. Argentines get used to being stereotypes of themselves and Eliana gets used to Noah and Lars' incessant yammering about politics.
What could have been a nice discussion of James Franco's non-visual art gallery, the final historic flight of the Space Shuttle, and Lars' endearing uncle, descends into filth as Eliana besmirches the most romantic day of the year (Bastille Day), invents insertable male contraception, and decides to buy a gun. Thanks a lot E.
Welcome to Megaboom!!'s spooky Halloween show. At least, as close as we're going to get this year. In this episode we discover that Eliana never trick-or-treated because in the Ukraine Halloween celebrates either race riots or nesting dolls, and Lars' family won a smurfing butt-load of costume awards. Later we interview the last Sony Walkman, and we get to the bottom of Afghani palace finances. A new game is introduced, Gentiles tell Jew Jokes (Noah wins), and we all vacation to beautiful dog mountain.
A man in New Jersey invented a sex robot. The biggest surprise wasn't that it was invented in Japan, but that they used Lars' voice. Get ready for a weird show. Speaking of weird shows, apparently, the Today show was originally hosted by Garrison Keillor and a chimpanzee. Sarah Palin has a new show where she finds out what America cares about. One step ahead of you crazy big head moose lady. Finally, Jennifer Love Hewitt suggests bedazzling your vagina. Don't have a vagina? Thank God. Right now, do it.
