Just like last week's guest, Collin Fesi, we were able to reconnect with Mike in Maryland.  What a blessing that night was to not just see one of my former players, but two in the same night.  Mike and Collin played for our organization a few years apart, but it was neat to see how they connected immediately knowing that they had that Berkshire Baseball experience in common.  I hope that they stay in contact now that they know each other. I always say that when we reconnect with my former players on this journey, it truly does fill my heart with joy.  To see these kids now and witness how they've grown into productive members of our society and just quality humans overall is incredibly special for me. Mike reflects on his playing days within the Berkshire organization and how it impacted him socially to meet and play with players from outside of his school district. We also talk about how those life lessons on the field continue to help him today in his career and beyond.

It's tufa one in the Vomitorium today! Two petrifying tales from the Metamorphoses, that is. First, Perseus gets hopelessly lost and takes it for granite that big-boned Atlas will offer him directions and a snack. But a dread prophecy leads Atlas to slam the door instead and Perseus to say "No More Mr. Gneiss Guy". He whips out his secret weapon from his Gorgon's head-sized holster with predictable results. Next it's on to Niobe whose Latona-directed trash talk knows no bounds. Even when Apollo and Diana begin to take bloody revenge, Niobe's hubris gets bigger and boulder. Her own transformation is sure with all that evidence mountain against her. Starting to get the schist of it? Shale we go on? Ore maybe not? Either way, you'll lava it!

Diana received a BA in British & American History and Literature (Harvard College, 2005), a MUP (Master's of Urban Planning) in Cultural Heritage and Neighborhood Development (Harvard Graduate School of Design, 2012), and a MA in Landscape Studies (Harvard University, 2018). She loves public libraries, baroque chamber music, and speculative fiction, and is the mother of two boys, a cat, and two kitchens: one in Cambridge, MA, and another at “Beaver Meadow,” in Sunderland, MA. El Dios Jupiter trato inicialmente de seducir a la hermana de Lotona, Asteria, pero ella se arrojo al mar y se convirtió en una golondrina y se arrojo al mar donde se volvió la isla de Ortigia en el Mar Egeo. Latona, irritada se quejo diciendo Porque me prohíben beber esta agua, el agua pertenece a todos. La naturaleza hizo para todos el aire, la luz y el agua. Este es un bien común a todos y sin embargo aquí estoy pidiéndoles a ustedes que me dejen beber como un favor. Mi intención, no es refrescar mi cuerpo cansado, sino solamente saciar mi sed y la de mis hijos. Tengo la boca reseca y apenas puedo resistir mas tiempo. Permitidme utilizar el agua y reconoceré que os debo la vida. Dejaros conmover por estos dos ñiños que aun están débiles. Insensibles a sus súplicas, los campesinos persistieron en su rechazo.
