We start with a detailed breakdown of the Henssler Ten Year Rule, explaining how it allows investors to weather downturns without selling equities. Then, we break down the latest market volatility, how inflation uncertainty is affecting the Producer Price Index and consumer Sentiment, and the Federal Reserve's decision to maintain monetary policy. In light of the recent volatility, we address the importance of diversification—across sectors, market capitalizations, domestic and international investments, and even tax structures—to help smooth volatility risk. After the break, we examine the impact of increasing longevity on financial planning, including the possibility that someday retirees may still have parents and even grandparents in retirement, reshaping how wealth transfers across generations.Join hosts Nick Antonucci, CVA, CEPA, Director of Research, and Managing Associates K.C. The show kicks off with a closer look at the recent shakeup in the "Magnificent Seven" group of top U.S. tech companies, as Broadcom surpasses Tesla in market capitalization. Sienna dives into the factors behind Broadcom's meteoric rise and the challenges faced by Tesla, offering insights into the ever-changing landscape of the tech industry.Next, Alex shares the surprising news of the World Wide Web Foundation's decision to shut down after 15 years, citing the achievement of its primary mission as global internet access reaches nearly 70%. He examines the foundation's significant impact on expanding internet accessibility, promoting digital rights, and shaping internet governance policies worldwide. The discussion also explores the reasons behind the closure and the ongoing efforts to address the evolving challenges in the digital landscape. For the deep dive segment, Sienna introduces the concept of the Cobra Effect, a term coined by economist Horst Siebert to describe the unintended consequences of well-meaning solutions. Using the historical anecdote of cobra breeding in colonial India as a starting point, Sienna and Alex explore how this phenomenon manifests across various fields, from urban planning and business to healthcare and education. They discuss strategies to avoid the Cobra Effect, such as creating simple incentives, anticipating potential loopholes, and regularly evaluating the impact of implemented solutions. The hosts also delve into the infamous Wells Fargo account fraud scandal as a prime example of the Cobra Effect in action, highlighting the importance of carefully designed incentive systems and the potential dangers of misaligned incentives.Perplexity is the fastest and most powerful way to search the web. The landscape of publicly traded food companies is constantly evolving, with consumer preferences, technological advancement and global challenges all playing a role in shaping the industry. In 2024, these factors have culminated in a diverse and competitive market where the largest publicly traded food companies dominate. In this episode of the Xtalks Food Podcast, Sydney talks about the top 10 largest publicly traded food companies by market capitalization (cap). The list includes the likes of The Kraft Heinz Company, DoorDash Inc., Chipotle Mexican Grill Inc., Mondelez International Inc., McDonald's Corporation and Nestlé S.A. The largest publicly traded food companies in 2024 are not just leaders in revenue; they are also at the forefront of innovation and sustainability. As the global food industry continues to evolve, these companies are well-positioned to meet the challenges and opportunities of the future. Also in this episode, Sydney talks about a recent study that revealed many baby foods contain excessive amounts of sugar and salt, coupled with misleading marketing claims. The study examined 651 baby food products from ten major US supermarkets, focusing on foods marketed for children aged six to 36 months. Shockingly, 60 percent of these products did not meet the World Health Organization's (WHO) nutritional guidelines for infant and toddler foods. Even more concerning, nearly all the products featured marketing claims that are discouraged by the WHO, such as “organic” or “non-GMO,” which may mislead parents into thinking these products are more nutritious than they actually are. The study also revealed that 44 percent of baby and toddler foods exceeded the WHO's recommended levels of total sugars. Market capitalization (Investopedia): refers to the total dollar/peso market value of a company's outstanding shares of stock. The investment community uses this figure to determine a company's size instead of sales or total asset figures. In an acquisition, the market cap is used to determine whether a takeover candidate represents a good value or not to the acquirer.

Crypto-Tuesday April 11, 2023 - Bitcoin, the world's largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, has broken through the $30,000 threshold for the first time since May 2021, marking a significant milestone in its volatile price history. The digital currency has been on a rollercoaster ride in recent years, experiencing extreme fluctuations in value, but this latest surge is a positive sign for investors who have held onto their bitcoin through the ups and downs. The price surge can be attributed to several factors, including increased institutional adoption of bitcoin, growing interest from retail investors, and a renewed focus on the potential use cases of cryptocurrencies. Some experts also point to the current economic climate, which has seen governments around the world pumping trillions of dollars into their economies to counter the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, as a key driver of the bitcoin price surge. Speculation is rampent. Will Bitcoin continue the surge. Some speculate to $1 Million. Or, will it crash and burn to zero. Only time will tell. Attorney Steven A. Leahy looks at the latest Bitcoin news on Today's Tax Talk. https://coinflip.tech/markets https://www.reuters.com/technology/bitcoin-pushes-past-30000-investors-eye-end-rate-rises-2023-04-11/ https://www.coindesk.com/business/2023/04/11/bitcoin-breaks-above-30k-for-first-time-since-june-2022/ --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/steven-leahy1/message

I'm 37 and a personal investor who is focused on long term investments for retirement. I have generally leveraged a higher risk strategy based on my age with index funds. My question is about the make up of the S&P 500 and specifically I'm concerned that the majority of the top stocks a large tech firms. It seems possible that we have seen the peek of these firms similar to the dot com bubble, so I'm rethinking continuing to invest due to this risk of collapse. What is diluted market capitalization? Welcome to the cryptohunt jam where we spend one minute a day to explain crypto. In plain english. Today, let us explain diluted market capitalization, a term any crypto investor should understand. But first, jump back one episode where we explain market capitalization itself. A cryptocurrency's market capitalization is the total amount of money in circulation of that cryptocurrency. Let's take Bitcoin as an example. Currently priced at around $30,000 per Bitcoin, there are 19 million of them. In total they are worth 590 billion dollars. That's a lot of money, but it doesn't actually include all of the possible Bitcoins. Eventually, there will be up to 21 million Bitcoin in circulation. The difference, a whopping 2 million, is just being held back as rewards for those operating the network, also called miners. Fully diluted market capitalization refers to the theoretical value of all possible Bitcoins in circulation. If you add those 2m yet-to-be-mined coins to the market cap, you get a total diluted market cap of 650 billion at the current price, a 60 billion US dollar difference. Head buzzing? Let's recap. Market cap refers to all the actual money that is currently floating around in a cryptocurrency. Fully diluted market cap is the higher, theoretical value of the maximum possible number of coins. And in the next episode we'll explain why the inventors of Bitcoin set a limit at 21 million of them and how you could get some of the ones being held back today. What is market capitalization? Welcome to the cryptohunt jam where we spend one minute a day to explain crypto. In plain english. Today, let us explain market capitalization, a very basic term any investor should be familiar with. Market capitalization simply refers to the amount of money all the shares of a company are worth when taken together. Let's take an example: Coca Cola, the company. Right now, a single share is worth about $65 dollars, and there are about 4.4 billion shares in circulation. Multiply the two, and you will see that Coca Cola has a market cap – short for capitalization – of 281 billion US dollars. That value helps you compare companies. Pepsi for example, has a market cap of 240 billion US dollars, slightly less than Coca Cola. That means that investors think that Coca Cola has a little more business potential than Pepsi. The same applies to blockchains. A cryptocurrencies market cap is the amount of coins that exist, multiplied by the value of each. Is your head buzzing? This example will make more sense: A single Bitcoin is currently worth about $30,000. There are roughly 19 million Bitcoins. Add all those zeros and you will see: All of the Bitcoins together are worth 600 billion dollars in market cap, almost three times as much as Pepsi and more than double that of Ethereum. And now that you understand market cap, go browse the web and compare: How much larger is Apple than Microsoft? How many car companies could you buy with all of the Bitcoins? We are sure you'll find tons of interesting comparisons, whether they are useful or just fun. Disclaimer: This podcast references our opinion and is for information purposes only. Show Outline The full show notes for this episode are available at https://www.diyinvesting.org/Episode102 Enterprise Value Definition Enterprise Value = Market Cap + Net Debt or Market Cap - Net Cash Key Thesis: Instead of using Enterprise Value, I would rather use Market Capitalization and have excess cash be part of my margin of safety. When Cash > Debt use Market Cap. When Debt > Cash use Enterprise Value. This is a conservative approach. Why is Enterprise Value useful? Corporate takeovers because you have to assume the debt, not just buy out the equity. On the flip side, if you take over a company you get access to the cash box. This doesn't apply to minority shareholders. "Net Cash or Skip" Investing Approach Should you calculate ROIC with cash or without cash? Is Excess Cash Bad? Does a company holding excess cash mean the company is a poor capital allocator? WACC is BS Why ever bother valuing debt? I don't trust capital allocation at companies to be what I want it to be. Solution: Be Conservative Buy companies with net cash, but value them as if they had none. Buy companies with growth, but value them as if they had none. Buy companies with good capital allocation, but value them as if they did not. Buy companies with good management, but assume management is only average. (Because someday it will be) Summary: Be conservative when valuing companies. Don't give managers credit where they don't deserve it. Enterprise value should only be used when companies hold debt. Yet, you should only buy companies with net cash.

If you're creating an investment strategy designed to help you pursue long-term financial goals, understanding the relationship between company size, return potential, and risk is crucial. With that knowledge, you'll be better prepared to build a balanced stock portfolio that comprises a mix of "market caps." In this podcast, I have briefly explained about that. I hope You liked the podcust.
Big jackpots are part of the fabric of Las Vegas as a casino gambling town. While the famed Las Vegas Strip attracts most of the city’s visitors, big jackpot hits can be found all over town. Rampart Casino is located in Summerlin, Nevada. Earlier this month, one lucky video poker player won $100,000. They drew a Royal Flush in spades to land the grand prize. Over at Boulder Station in Sunrise Manor, a video keno player took home $250,000 when their 10 numbers came up on the machine. This was on a $1 wager. Bitcoin Passes Some Impressive Company in Market CapitalizationBitcoin’s (BTC) two-month rally to $15,000 in market price has also raised total market capitalization based on ArmyOfBitcoin.com. Valued at $280 billion, BTC has passed publicly traded corporations such as PayPal, Netflix and Coca-Cola in market cap. Among the nation’s biggest firms, the market cap of BTC would rank 18th. Apple remains first on that list with a market cap of $2 trillion. The driving force behind these market gains is BTC’s position as a hedge to widespread government spending. The current bull run could carry BTC to a new high in market price by the end of the year.Foxwoods Resort Unveils 55+ Casino ExperienceIn an effort to attract older casino players, Foxwoods is designating one floor of its Rainmaker Casino for patrons aged 55 or older. The promotion will run every weekend in November from 10 a.m. (ET) until midnight. Guests meeting that age requirement can listen to familiar toons from the 1980’s. They can also sip Boone’s Farm wine and shoot down a few Kamikazes during Happy Hour. Foxwoods has traditionally targeted an older demographic. The casino is still faced with limited floor capacity in light of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. All safety protocols remain in place to make the gaming experience safe and enjoyable. Three Injured in Las Vegas Shooting at Circus Circus Hotel and CasinoThe Las Vegas Strip has been hit with a dramatic increase in violent crime in recent months. Local police data points to a 35 percent increase in aggravated assaults alone. Recent gun fire at Circus Circus Hotel & Casino resulted in three injuries. Two of the victims were sent to a local hospital in stable condition. A fight broke out between two different groups in the casino’s Adventure Dome. Las Vegas Metropolitan Police (LVMP) arrived on the scene to investigate this incident. One individual was detained as a ‘person of interest’. The LVMP, in general, have beefed up security on the Strip during the weekends.

A question about choosing the best funds for a 457 plan. Index funds or active? Plus, what are the advantages of equally weighted index funds.
Would you believe the Steem price broke $2 for the first time in nearly a year and set a new world record for its market capitalization as a cryptocurrency at $468,096,656 making it currently #12 out of all cryptocurrencies online? Even as the Bitcion price blows up over $2900 and nearly every altcoin is down, Steem is trading up 30% today from several days in a row of gains! Meanwhile, Steemit users at https://steemit.com/@jerrybanfield/ have been generous enough to give me nearly $2,000 to advertise Steem and Steemit on Facebook and YouTube where I am currently spending $60 a day collectively to reach hundreds of thousands of viewers with the good news about Steem! At https://steemd.com/distribution we can easily see the user data for Steemit which shows a surge in new user signups and new superuser accounts with over $600 in vested Steem Power. While the price of Steem is up, SteemDollars or SBD are actually down because they are set at a fixed rate of $1 worth of Steem meaning that now instead of earning more than one Steem for a SBD, users are getting less than 1 Steem for the first time in a long time! Our excitement for Steem is contagious because how many great opportunities have most of us missed out on in life like being one of the first investors in Facebook or another hot startup? What if Steem is our chance to make the investment of a lifetime and to ensure financial independence for our future? I invested over $30,000 in Steem which I powered up directly on Steemit today and am honored to be ranked currently 308 on the SteemWhales at https://steemwhales.com/?p=13&s=power which gives me the ability to help any Steem user earn money just by making a comment or a post! If you want to get started buying into Steem today, the easiest way I know of is to make a wallet on the same website I use which is Coinbase at https://www.coinbase.com/join/53f220834b1a7fd652000013 where you will get $10 in Bitcoin if you sign up using my link and fund your wallet with $100. Then using Bitcoin you can make a direct deposit to your Steem wallet at https://steemit.com/@jerrybanfield/transfers except switch your username for mine. Once there just click on buy Steem or Steem power and send it to your wallet! Alternatively, you can use Bitstamp at https://www.bitstamp.net/ to make an immediate credit card purchase and get nearly instantly verified on Bittrex at https://bittrex.com/ where you can then use Bitcoin to buy Steem! Thank you for giving me the chance to be of service to you today and I welcome any questions you have! During the live video, you are welcome to make comments and I will try to answer as many as possible after I go through the initial presentation. If you have comments after the video has finished being live, would you please sign up at https://steemit.com/@jerrybanfield and comment on one of my posts there because I currently am able to read and respond to most every comment on Steemit!
