Letters read on TWiP 265 New Case From Eyal Leshem, a returning case “provider” 43 years old female who travelled to Brazil on May 2025 for a two week dance class. The dance school is located in a farm two hour drive West of Rio de Janeiro.  Upon return to Israel she started feeling pricking and “movements” and under her scalp on the back of her head. She noted three non-healing furuncles on the back of her head A month after she returned movement and pricking in the back of her scalp increased, the furuncles enlarged and produced serous discharge. Several days before her ED visit she thinks an “object” dropped from the back of her scalp, but being outdoors, she could not locate the object.  On physical examination she is afebrile and her vitals are normal, and on the back of her head two indurated   were detected under the hair on the back of her head. Serous discharge was produced by pushing the furuncles. A non-surgical office procedure led to immediate recovery and confirmed the diagnosis.  What was the parasite? What was the procedure? It was a nail-biting 23-20 victory for our Seattle Seahawks over the Arizona Cardinals, but it didn't need to be. A revolution is brewing.If it were a pot of water, I'd say it's been on the stove for seven or eight minutes. It's not quite boiling and bubbling and bursting, but the water is hot. The pot is hissing, and the stainless steel is shimmering. It won't be too long before it boils over.Signs of this revolution are everywhere: On the front pages of The New York Times, in niche corners of the internet, among my closest friends and family. It's a backlash, really — one that began quietly and tentatively but is turning thunderous and unapologetic. Meanwhile, the right, which values tradition and hierarchy, lacks comparable institutional mechanisms and relies on "horizontal moves" by personalities like entertainers or outsiders, such as Donald Trump. The left's influence, like a virus, radicalizes youth and undermines traditional structures like family, contributing to a civilizational decline, as evidenced by polls showing declining interest in marriage among Gen Z, particularly women. Without a robust training ground for leaders, the right resorts to populist platforms where entertainment and provocative soundbites often overshadow intellectual rigor. It's a Thursday night and a group of folks in Washington Heights do-si-do to the bassline from “Shake Your Groove Thing” by Peaches & Herb. Square dancing has a reputation as more of a hobby for white people set to country music. But social clubs like the Southside Squares are turning that image on its head. Last episode, we heard how square dancing was once a booming hobby. Today, we hear from one social club that's working to keep it alive in the 21st century. But square dancing's African and African-American roots often get lost in popular accounts. Some of the first callers and musicians were enslaved Black people. Since then, square dancing has continued to be a part of African-American communities, including a long-running social club that meets up in Washington Heights every week to get down. Today, we hear from members of the Southside Squares. And you can't have a dance without a caller. We also talk with a living legend in square dancing: world renowned caller Sandie Bryant. She'll show us the ropes and tell us what it's like being one of the few Black women callers today.
