You absolutely can get pregnant with endometriosis.  That being said, endo can also be a barrier to pregnancy, and it depends on how severe your tissue growth is, where it's located and other hormone levels that may be out of balance.  Endometriosis is a condition where endometrial tissue, which normally lines the inside of the uterus, migrates to other parts of the body. This misplaced tissue can be found on the ovaries, fallopian tubes, and other organs within the pelvic region, causing pain, inflammation and other issues.  Adenomyosis, on the other hand, occurs when the endometrial tissue embeds itself into the muscle wall of the uterus. This can result in painful cramps, heavy periods, and an enlarged uterus. Women can suffer from either condition or both simultaneously, and they are often associated with other hormonal disorders like PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome). There is no one-size-fits-all solution for women with endometriosis looking to get pregnant. Each woman's health history, how her body processes and detoxifies estrogen, and overall hormonal balance are unique. Some women may pursue surgery to excise or ablate the endometriosis.  I do think it is important to get some hormone testing done. The Dutch Test (Dried Urine Test for Comprehensive Hormones) provides info on levels and how your body is metabolizing estrogen. For instance, if a specific detox pathway isn't working properly, addressing that can make a significant difference in managing symptoms and improving fertility. Fertility tips:  Hormone Balance and Detoxification: Hormone testing, supplementation and lifestyle changes are key.  Nutrient Support: Eat for your cycle, boost your protein and support your hormone needs.  Reduce Inflammation: Diet changes, supplements and stress management.  Acupuncture and Massage: These therapies can help manage pain, reduce inflammation, and improve lymphatic drainage, which is often impaired in women with endometriosis. There is also fertility specific acupuncture!  Regular Monitoring: Monitor and adjust your treatment plans based on regular hormone testing and symptom tracking.  I have worked with a number of women who have navigated this journey successfully. Some have managed to conceive and have healthy pregnancies, while others have significantly improved their symptoms to the point where pregnancy became a viable option.    Let's connect! In today's episode, we explore the connection between adrenal health and conditions like Hashimotos and PCOS. The topic arises from a group program called "Hashimotos Lifestyle Roadmap" and a question about the distinct nature of fatigue associated with Hashimotos and regular fatigue. Adrenal fatigue or adrenal dysfunction is a contentious topic, often dismissed as not being a real condition, despite its collection of genuine symptoms. We delve into what adrenal fatigue truly is and its ties with Hashimotos, an autoimmune condition where the immune system attacks the thyroid gland, leading to hypothyroidism. Next, we touch on PCOS (Polycystic Ovary Syndrome) and how stress, trauma, and extreme stress play crucial roles in triggering autoimmune responses and exhausting the adrenal glands. We shed light on cortisol, our body's primary stress hormone, and its impact on the energy levels of women with Hashimotos and PCOS. Taking a closer look at the testing for Hashimotos, we recount personal experiences with saliva cortisol tests and discuss the importance of a balanced cortisol cycle throughout the day. We highlight the connection between adrenal dysfunction, Hashimotos, and PCOS and how each part of the body's intricate endocrine system influences the other. We discuss the impacts of chronic stress on the thyroid, adrenals, and reproductive hormones, contributing to symptoms such as PMS and menopausal discomforts. The complexity of these interconnected conditions lies in the overlapping symptoms, making it challenging to identify the root cause. We underline the significance of managing these conditions, with stress management being paramount. From exploring individual stress-relieving activities to incorporating mindfulness practices, we present a range of possible methods to alleviate stress. In the realm of nutrition, we emphasize balanced diets and adequate feeding, avoiding extreme diets, skipping meals, and overconsumption of processed foods. We highlight the beneficial impact of certain nutrients like Selenium, Vitamin D, and Vitamin C on thyroid and adrenal health. Finally, we explore the power of quality sleep and consistent routines in restoring all body systems, including the endocrine system. Tune in to explore how understanding the link between stress, adrenal health, and conditions like Hashimotos and PCOS can aid in managing your health better. Infertility, PCOS, IVF and the cost effective option INVOcell - Jessica Duqubue My guest, Jessica Dubuque and I talk about infertility and PCOS/Polycystic Ovary Syndrome.  When talking with Jessica I learned that September is PCOS awareness month so if you'd like more information check out PCOSawarenessmonth.org.  Along with receiving encouragement as she shares about her journey through infertility she also talks about an exciting infertility option, called INVOcell. It is more cost affective as compared to the traditional IVF (In Vitro Fertilization) route. You get to hear Jessica's success story both with her chosen infertility journey as well as a surprise conception but you'll also get to listen in as Jessica shares that there is a backstory to the success story and it was full of pain and questions and struggle to understand what she had done wrong. When I think about the various stories that I have had the honor to hear through this podcast I realize there is a level of brokenness in us. And what I mean by that is that there is loss, shame, embarrassment, humiliation, fear. In short, we know suffering. There are no exceptions. Everyone has experienced these things. What might be no big deal for you could be devastating for someone else. To live is to know pain and suffering. But what I find most fulfilling is to know that God gives beauty in exchange for our broken things. He wants to engage us in the midst of our pain. To lead us into healing and provide restoration that extracts the pain from the event or events so that it no longer controls us. Where we feel at peace with our painful places. That's what healing feels like. As Jessica tells us who God was for her in the midst of her heartache and questions she reveals this beautiful exchange between her and God. She goes from a leader of her own making, to a follower of God. She began to pursue His heart for answers to this painful place of infertility.  And what does God do? He heals. He's such a good Father. He did this for me too and I know He'll do it for you. That's His nature, to heal His sons and daughters. Yes, He's the God of judgement and there is a day when that will come but today, in the intimacy of relationship with Him, He wants to restore, heal, and make new. When we engage the heart of God He's so much bigger than the immediate painful place that we bring to Him. There is so much more wrapped up in our painful places of life. We show up with fears, assumptions, scars and nightmares. If we allow Him to love on us and to speak into our suffering, His love dismantles and overwhelms the pain of this life. When we walk in that type of recovery and freedom, we get a taste, just a little taste of what it means for Him to bring heaven down to earth. Listen as Jessica shares this beautiful transition as God meets her in the midst of her journey of uncertainty through infertility. May it bless you to hear of the intimacy that God cares for each of us.  Lived Loved and Thrive! @alifeofthrive.com  Resources: https://www.invocell.com/ https://PCOSawarenessmonth.org Connect with Jessica: thepowerofinfertility@gmail.com BIO: At the age of 35, she found herself in a battle of infertility. Fear, anxiety, and shame consumed her as she looked for answers. The life she had envisioned was now full of uncertainty.   In the midst of her pain, she turned to the one who had never left her side, God. She began to embrace her journey as she clung to God's word. God revealed to her the power of infertility. Her struggles exposed by infertility made her brave enough to confront them. She had more strength than she ever thought to fight battles that she never imagined she would.    Now, she has a passion to connect with others who also share in the pain of infertility. PCOS is a metabolic, endocrine, and reproductive disorder affecting 10-15% of women (roughly 5 million in the U.S.) As many as 70% of women with polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) go undiagnosed. It is important for PCOS knowledge to become more widespread so that women can get diagnosed so they can treat and prevent physical and mental health concerns. These include increased susceptibility to comorbidities such as hypertension, metabolic syndrome (MS), and type 2 diabetes as well as eating disorders, anxiety, and depression.PCOS is characterized by 2 or more of the following 3 criteria:1.hyperandrogenism (high levels of androgens, the male sex hormone)2.polycystic ovaries on ultrasound 3.delayed ovulation or menstrual cycles (anovulation) Symptoms include:excess hair growth/hair loss/acne/weight gain/irregular periodsReferences:Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Endocrine Reviews, 33(6), 981–1030 Endocrine Reviews, 24(5), 633–667 Journal of Endocrinological Investigation, 40(1 )BOOK: The Pcos workbook: your guide to complete physical and emotional health BOOK: 8 Steps to reverse your Pcos: a proven program to reset your hormones, repair your metabolism and restore your fertility BOOK: Wardlaw's contemporary nutrition: a functional approach PODCAST: The Fill Your Cup Podcast / 095: When You Have PCOS and Want To Balance Your Hormones Without Dieting - Sam Abbott People to Follow on IG: @pcos.nutritionistFind me on IG:@francesca.meffert.co

Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS) is a condition in which the ovaries produce an abnormal amount of androgens, male sex hormones that are usually present in women in small amounts. The name polycystic ovary syndrome describes the numerous small cysts (fluid-filled sacs) that form in the ovaries. However, some women with this disorder do not have cysts, while some women without the disorder do develop cysts. In this episode we're in conversation with Tallene and her husband Sirak: Tallene is a PCOS Weight Loss registered dietitian and a strong believer of the fact that you don't just have to live with PCOS, because you can thrive with PCOS. She was diagnosed at age 18, and was left worried and confused without much information or guidance from her practitioner. Unsatisfied with the generally accepted belief that birth control is the only way to manage a PCOS diagnosis , Tallene decided to look for alternative options. Sirak is a PCOS Personal Trainer and a strong supporter of women struggling with PCOS. A former engineer, he has repurposed his skills and applied his creative genius to editing and producing the content within their membership portal and on social media. In this episode, Tallene & Sirak  share the fruits of their knowledge around PCOS so you can live your life to the fullest.Tune in!Buzzsprout - Let's get your podcast launched!
