Then a lighter moment: Conway is officially blowing up on Netflix, with his voice appearing in Southland (Season 5, Episode 1) — plus a nod to Licorice Pizza and a look at how much climber Alex Honnold was really paid for his death-defying skyscraper ascent. The MindHealth360 Show

Play Episode Listen Later Jan 23, 2026 63:57

In this important and timely presentation on "The Effects of Toxins on Mental Health," naturopathic physician and environmental medicine pioneer Dr Joe Pizzorno reveals how the global rise in mental health disorders parallels a dramatic increase in human exposure to toxic chemicals. He explains that toxins now permeate our food, water, air, household environments, and even medical care – while the nutrients that once protected us from these chemicals have simultaneously declined in the modern diet. This combination, he shows, has created ideal conditions for brain dysfunction, neurodegeneration and mood disorders worldwide. Dr Pizzorno – founding president of Bastyr University, co-author of Clinical Environmental Medicine and The Toxin Solution, and one of the world's leading voices in science-based natural medicine – draws on decades of research, clinical practice and large-scale human data to demonstrate that environmental toxins are now major drivers of neurological and psychiatric illness. He outlines how specific contaminants, including arsenic, pesticides, industrial chemicals, persistent organic pollutants (POPs), mercury and commonly used medications, damage the brain through mitochondrial dysfunction, oxidative stress, glutathione depletion, microglial activation and impaired apoptosis. In this deeply informative and practical session, Dr Pizzorno explains how clinicians and patients can meaningfully reduce toxic exposure and support detoxification through diet, lifestyle and environmental choices. By correcting nutritional deficiencies, decreasing total toxic load and improving the body's natural elimination pathways, he shows that biomarkers of oxidative and toxic burden can improve – and so can long-term brain health. In this episode, you will learn: Why the global epidemic of mental disorders aligns closely with rising exposure to neurotoxins and falling intake of protective nutrients. Which environmental toxins are strongly associated with dementia, cognitive decline, depression, ADHD, autism and Parkinson's disease. Why arsenic, particularly from contaminated water and food, is one of the most damaging neurotoxins linked to Alzheimer's disease, dementia and major cancers. How pesticides, PCBs and contaminated fish contribute to neurodegeneration and psychiatric symptoms. Why commonly used prescription and over-the-counter medications can act as neurotoxins and increase the risk of dementia. How toxins harm the brain through mitochondrial damage, oxidative stress and glutathione depletion. Why food is the single largest source of toxic exposure, followed by water, household chemicals, personal-care products and indoor air. Practical ways to reduce exposure at home, including air filtration, choosing cleaner products and improving food quality. How increasing dietary fibre and colourful plant foods supports toxin elimination and protects brain function. Why supporting glutathione and detoxification pathways – and maintaining these habits over time – can lower oxidative burden and improve long-term mental health.

I didn't want wisdom—I wanted the answer. This video explores Proverbs 9, the fear of God, and the difference between wisdom and foolishness when both are calling your name with the same promises.Growing up, whenever I brought my Pops a question, I was hoping for a shortcut. A quick answer. Something clean and simple. Instead, he'd say, “Boy, I don't know—but I know someone who does.” And just like that, the work landed back in my lap. That response used to frustrate me. I wanted information, not transformation. But what my Pops was really doing was redirecting my eyes—away from convenience and toward wisdom.Proverbs 9 makes this crystal clear: wisdom and foolishness both call out in the same way, to the same people, with the same invitation. Both promise fulfillment. Both sound convincing. Both feel urgent. The outcomes, however, couldn't be more different. So how do you tell the difference? There's only one filter that works every time—the fear of God.Wisdom doesn't come from intelligence, experience, or confidence. It comes from reverence. From knowing where to look when you don't have the answer. Foolishness offers shortcuts. Wisdom offers clarity—but only if you're willing to do the work.If you're searching for answers right now—• personally• professionally• spiritually• financiallythis message is for you.Because maybe the problem isn't that you don't have the answer.Maybe it's that you're asking the wrong source.Like my Pops taught me, I'll say it again today:“I don't know—but I know someone who does.”And when you learn to seek wisdom from the right place, everything changes.Inchstones-The Vibe within bookhttps://a.co/d/4CYg4vGRegister for The VIBE Roomhttps://www.eventcreate.com/e/the-vibe-room-copy-326261-7854e4Join the VIBE communityhttps://thevibebykellycardenas.substack.com?r=4nn6y5&utm_medium=ios

Mark Hill, founder and CEO of MyCardPost, joins Jeremy for a wide-ranging conversation about what it looks like when the hobby stops behaving like a casual pastime and starts operating like a full-blown industry. They dig into the mental side of building something from scratch, including how impostor syndrome can either stall you out or become real fuel, and what the grind of bootstrapping actually feels like when you are building in public. Along the way, Mark shares perspective from launching new initiatives like Crown Auctions and how moments like the recent Hobby Awards recognition can create meaningful momentum without changing the day-to-day work. They also hit bigger hobby psychology and culture: imposter syndrome, community support for builders, and a lively debate on rookie cards vs early-career non-rookies, plus where “vintage” actually starts and ends. Jeremy also shares updates on the Hobby Spectrum snapshot and the status of POPs & COMPs as it moves closer to release. In this episode: Why “the hobby is an industry” is more than a talking point Impostor syndrome as a motivator, not a weakness The real grind of bootstrapping a hobby business Crown Auctions and what event-style auctions add to the hobby experience The impact of Hobby Awards recognition and organic awareness Rookie cards vs second-year cards, and why early-career cards still matter The ongoing debate around vintage definitions Golf cards, Bruins collecting, and niche community building Updates on the Hobby Spectrum and POPs & COMPs Listen and subscribe on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, or wherever you get your podcasts. Part 3 is where the conversation takes a sharp turn into the mechanics of power. We start with Josh asking the uncomfortable question: if PSA can decertify slabs selectively, what happens when they own Beckett too? From there, it spirals into the real stuff collectors argue about behind the scenes but rarely say out loud. This episode is part hobby debate, part reality check, and part rant. It also includes one of the most memorable analogies of the entire emergency stream: PSA upcharges as “insurance premiums” paid by someone else. Highlights in Part 3 include: The decertification question: what PSA can do, what they won't do, and why it matters The real concern: what happens to Beckett slabs if the brand is sunsetted Why job cuts at Beckett are basically guaranteed if Collectors is building toward an IPO Will submissions slow down, or does demand stay bulletproof no matter what happens A blunt take on phantom POPs, resubmissions, and why pop reports mislead collectors The PSA upcharge rant: who pays, who benefits, and why the buyer wins Whether standardization in grading would help collectors or expose the whole system Registry culture, resale pressure, and why many collectors chase holders over cards The future question: machine-driven grading, consistency, and what it could do to premiums The Black Label premium debate and why some buyers pay like the number is the card The punchline: grading isn't a scam, but it can still be a sham Part 3 is where the episode stops being about “PSA bought Beckett” and becomes a broader argument about what grading has turned the hobby into. What do you do when the people closest to you don't support your next step? Proverbs 28 gives a powerful answer—and today's conversation might be exactly what you need if you're feeling unseen, unsupported, or discouraged.A friend of mine, Vince, reached out after launching a new aspect of his business. Instead of encouragement, he felt resistance from the very people he expected to support him. That moment created a fork in the road: either jump in the hole with him emotionally, or offer timeless wisdom passed down from my Pops—you can be a prophet in every city except your own hometown. This episode unpacks a hard truth leaders, entrepreneurs, and people of faith eventually learn: your friends and your customers are rarely the same people. And that's okay.Rooted in Proverbs 28 and reinforced by 2 Corinthians 9:6—“whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will reap generously”—this conversation centers on one defining question:Which seeds should I plant?Proverbs 28 lays out the exact kind of seeds that lead to an abundant harvest: integrity, righteousness, generosity, discipline, and faithfulness. Our job is not to worry about the increase. Scripture reminds us that one plants, another waters—but only God brings the increase. If you're building something new, walking by faith, or planting seeds without applause, this episode is your encouragement.Keep planting. God handles the harvest.Vince—your harvest is on the way.
