The concept of “making it” or crossing the finish line in your Wealth journey is like the tooth fairy. It would be awesome if it existed, but it doesn't.Preserving your wealth is a full-time job, and if done well, it's a job that will be carried out past your lifetime. Working with a financial “Quarterback” helps your wealth grow and protects you from the unnecessary and avoidable risks that can erode your wealth.Have questions for an upcoming episode? The saying “defense wins championships” applies in a few ways to portfolio management.Playing good defense (keeping your opponent off the board) and taking the risk out of the important areas of your life is the foundation of the game and gives you peace of mind as an investor. A leaky or inadequate defense leads investors to fall behind, and it's hard to catch up without taking unreasonable risks.A strong defense enables you to take mindful risks to get ahead while still managing the current game and potentially saving an arm or giving a prospect some game time for future benefit. The offense is still very important, but it's easier for a good offense to flourish when there is very strong confidence in the defense. Our goal is to finish ahead. A dependable and robust defense with a sophisticated and intentional offense is a winning combination.Have questions for an upcoming episode? James Brown is a real estate investor, coach, instructor, author and adrenaline sport junkie from Alaska. He is an expert in building, and preserving, wealth through real estate. My favorite way is through lease-options because there are wins for everyone involved. My favorite win is that we are helping people get into home ownership that have lost hope. At the same time, we are helping regular people become investors like the big hedge funds do. The people that we work with are typically busy professionals and folks that want to maximize their retirement funds without putting them at risk in investments outside, or inside, real estate. Episode #18 of the Diving for Pearls podcast has officially launched!!! In this episode, I sit down with Lydia Andrews, Wealth Advisor and Wealth & Mindset Coach, and Founder of Love Yourself Financially to discuss fundamental steps you can take to build wealth for the long-term, attract life-changing abundance and foster growth where you need it most. As someone who has had to analyze her life from both a macro and micro level, Lydia recommends tapping into every aspect of our experiences to help us process events, clarify our thinking and hone in on what truly matters. With discipline and intentionality, she believes that we can lean into kindness and compassion everyday to shift our awareness, connect with others in authentic ways and experience the success, wealth and prosperity we all deserve. Imbued with a desire to help and make an impact during some of her more formative years, Lydia, a native of Ghana, worked on supporting the disadvantaged and vulnerable through philanthropic work both in high school and college. It was her parents' teachings about “lending a hand” to enable individuals and communities achieve positive outcomes that deeply resonated with her. Anchoring herself to some of the family's core values, Lydia continued to focus on ways in which she could have real and sustainable impact on others. Through a series of career iterations and a journey of self-discovery, Lydia eventually moved to the financial sphere, focusing her efforts on providing economic development opportunities to women. Via workshops and coaching sessions, Lydia teaches women how to nurture and manage the money they have earned and grow it. In a similar vein, Lydia encourages our listeners to make courageous choices in career opportunities and relationships that will help them earn wealth, build wealth and eventually go on to preserve wealth. It is working from these three pillars (earn wealth, build wealth and preserve wealth) that Lydia believes that you can start your true wealth creation journey. In a world today characterised by economic uncertainty and market volatility, it is harder to preserve your wealth and become finally independent. In this episode of #FinancialFox, Steffy speaks with Alan Steel, founder and chairman of Alan Steel Asset Management, an independent financial adviser since 1975. Alan has survived 5 stock market crashes and his advise has been constantly proved successful increasing his client wealth over time. Highlights ================= Fears of rising inflation Analysts are predicting rising inflation rates over the coming months which means that investors must adapt their strategies to make sure gains are above inflationary levels. Alan believes that the tech sector has proved to be resilient and could be good options. Gold and gold-linked assets could work for more cautious investors. ================ Financial planning and Tax efficiency The best time to think about your retirement "was 25 years ago" joked Alan. He shares insights about his approach to financial and tax planning which is done according to each investors' needs and objectives. ================ Gold, silver & precious metals It is worth having some exposure to gold and precious metals, says Alan, as economic uncertainty tends to favour safe-haven assets. However, these are unprecedented times so markets may behave differently, he adds.

Alex J. Gonzalez, Financial Planning Expert, Regions Private Wealth BACKGROUND: Amid an ongoing pandemic, political transition, market volatility, and economic uncertainties in the U.S. and abroad, staying on track financially is a challenging task right now. Many have shifted their strategy to protecting what they have, rather than focusing on building new wealth. But does there really need to be a trade off? On March 4, Orlando-based wealth manager and financial planning expert Alex Gonzalez will provide some insights and perspectives on how to work with a financial professional to craft an ideal strategy that combines protecting ones’ current assets while positioning oneself to build wealth in the future.
Jared Siegel talks about wealth, pessimism vs. optimism, and the Dunning Kruger effect in this solo episode of Success That Lasts. Here are a few highlights: Value acceleration is a process that uncovers the answers to personal, financial, legal, and tax questions in the operations of a business. The aim is to maximize the value of the business at the time of exit, minimize taxes, and protect, harvest, and manage personal and professional wealth. We all have biases that we may be unaware of. “Knowing what you don’t know is wisdom,” Jared remarks. Often, people are likely to find themselves falling into the ‘I’m not biased’ bias, which prevents them from discovering and managing their biases. Jared believes that getting wealthy relies on different skills, mindsets, and approaches than staying wealthy. Staying wealthy typically involves a combination of frugality and paranoia, whereas getting wealthy centers around accumulation. “People who stay wealthy save like a pessimist and invest like an optimist,” he quotes. Tomorrow’s success is not guaranteed, and nothing binds it to follow in the footsteps of today. Strategic financial planning ensures that money is accessible to you whenever and wherever you need it. A well-built plan supports adaptability, resilience, and optionality. The Dunning Kruger effect is relentless in preventing people from achieving wealth. It is a cognitive bias that dictates that we are hardwired to overestimate our own competence when it comes to things we know little about. This quote will make far more sense after you listened to this Episode! I have the true honour to speak today with Egon von Greyerz. After a successful banking and corporate career, Egon founded Matterhorn Asset Management in 1999. Matterhorn Asset Management is based on wealth preservation principles and is now the World's leading company for physical gold and silver outside the banking system, directly owned by the investor. Their four vaults include the biggest and safest gold vault in the world, located in the Swiss Alps. Clients are High Net Worth Individuals, Family Offices, Pension Funds, Investment Funds and Trusts in over 75 countries. With 50+ years experience as an investor, Egon makes regular media appearances and speaks at investment conferences around the world. He also publishes articles on precious metals, the world economy and wealth preservation. He goes into depth about the flaws of the current financial system, hyperinflation, insane debt levels, wealth destruction and the foreseeable crisis to be coming. He talks about how to preserve wealth. We cover: Why history tells us everything about the future Why the current financial system is inherently flawed and leads to maldistribution of wealth, conflict of interest, hyperinflation and wealth destruction Why privately owned central banks are at the root of the problem Why educational levels are decreasing with every generation - we are dumbing down Why published US GDP figures are fake Why anyone who measures his wealth in dollars is deluding himself Why Gold is the only real measure for purchasing power Why only in this century the dollar has lost 85% in real terms Why for every debt rise there is an equal and opposite debt fall Why life is all about helping & the most wonderful thing is giving Why most ‘financial journalists' studied marketing rather than markets and are hardly reliable ‘warning bells' Why you need to own physical Gold and not ETFs Why your counterparty risk matters and you always have at least one counterparty Why the banking industry will not survive About Egon von Greyerz: LI: https://linkedin.com/in/egonvongreyerz TW: @GoldSwitzerland Homepage: https://goldswitzerland.com/ ---------------- ★★ SHARING = CARING! James Rickards, Peter Tallman and Michael Oliver return. It's not a matter of “if” but “when” the next financial crisis will hit. History suggests the next crisis will be bigger and more devastating than the last one because the Keynesian economic pathology that has been destroying price recognition of capital and thereby capitalism itself has not been eradicated. In fact, economists have doubled down on Keynesian falsehoods so that the next crisis may trigger an economic reset ending a prosperous America as we have known it. In this current pathological environment how can we protect the wealth we already have and perhaps enhance it by adjusting to the market demands derived from an impending chaos? James will provide answers from his latest book, “Aftermath.” Peter believes Klondike has found the secrets to discovering the Klondike gold Mother Lode. He will update us on this summer's drill program. As usual Michael will provide his most recent commentary on key markets.

Ruffer Investment Company (RICA) aims to preserve wealth and tries not to lose money over any 12 month period - rather than beat an index. Duncan MacInnes, co-manager of the investment trust, explains how they seek to mitigate downside and how they are protecting against the downside risks they are most concerned about at the moment. He also explains why in 2018 the trust made a negative return - a rare occurrence in its 15 year history - but how despite this blip they are clawing back performance with a positive return so far this year. The oldest members of the Baby Boom generation have started to retire. Because of that, the United States is now in the midst of the biggest transfer of wealth from one generation to another that the country has ever seen. But according to Barclays Wealth Insights, history has shown that 70% of family wealth fails to transfer to the third generation. One of the main causes of this failure is not preparing your heirs to appreciate and properly manage your estate; to be aware of the history behind it and to share in a family vision that will shape their stewardship of your family wealth moving forward. In this episode, podcast host, personal historian, video biographer, and Family Legacy Video, Inc. president Steve Pender is joined by personal historian and author Stephanie Kadel Taras, Ph.D. They share some real life examples of how their high net worth clients used life story legacies, in both video and print formats, as communication tools to pass along their values and visions surrounding family wealth to the next generations of their families. Stephanie is an author and personal historian. She lives in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She started her company, TimePieces Personal Biographies, in the year 2000. Stephanie works with clients who want to tell their own stories, hire a writer to work with family members, or document their organization’s history. Her 2013 memoir and social history of West Virginia, titled Mountain Girls, won a West Virginia Writers Book Award. Her 2008 history of Eckerd College won an Independent Publisher Book Award.
Helen Raleigh, CFA, DTM, was born and raised in Communist China. She arrived at America in 1996 as a student. She knew no one and had less than $100 in her pocket. Through a combination of hard work and scholarships, Helen earned her master's degree in business economics from the State University of New York, College of Oneonta, as well as a masters degree in business administration from the University of Wyoming. Over the years, Helen worked for several fortune 500 companies, including Citibank. She has over 16 years experience in the financial services industry in areas ranging from pension funds to risk management. She also holds the "gold standard" investment industry designation -- the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) charter certification. Eric Sprott & Rick Rule will return. Sprott Asset Management, of which both Eric and Rick are senior management members, has nearly $10 billion worth of assets that it either manages directly or indirectly. Owing to their free market perspective this is an incredibly unique entity that has a lot to offer people who understand that the Keynesian economic policies combined with an already over extended empire are leading America down a path of destruction. Unlike most investment firms, Sprott and Rule understand that America's foreign and domestic politics are pathological. As such they have tailored products to not only avert financial disaster for its clients, but to help build wealth and lay the foundations for a better life in the future. In the second hour of the show, David Jensen will join me and I expect to pass along a few of my top gold and silver mining picks.
