There's something magnetic about people who follow joy like it's their inner compass. Anka is one of those people, and when we connected (very recently), I knew this was a conversation I wanted to have. In this episode, I chat with Anka, an ocean swimmer, traveller and German TV reporter who splits her time between Europe and Perth. We talk about what happens when you stop playing it safe and start saying yes to the things that light you up. Inside this conversation: How Anka found instant community through ocean swimming Growing up in rainy Germany and how it shaped her resilience Creating a life that follows the seasons Why you don't need the full plan before you take the leap The joy of movement, connection and shared coffees after a swim A shared love of cookbooks, culture and pomegranates And why “goodbye” isn't in Anka's vocab If you're craving adventure, connection, or just know you need ‘something different', this episode will give you that nudge to trust your curiosity and choose joy - even when it makes no sense on paper. Listen to the end to find out how to dissect a pomegranate (life hack included). And if you're in Perth and want to check out ocean swimming, the Pod Squad meet every day at North Cottesloe near sunrise (DM me for the deets). This Podcast ep is a really special one. It's a raw and real conversation I had with a friend of mine and the challenges she is overcoming, having experienced childhood trauma and only recently understanding the impact it's had on her life. I first met Crystal when I was working as a Podiatrist, having recently moved to Perth from the country. Our work together shaped her future career choice and we became friends. Crystal bravely shares her story about the hurdles she's faced since becoming a Mum, not just with juggling a career, but with the loss of her parents, who chose not to have any contact with her after her first child. We talk about perfectionism struggles and balancing work with family time. Crystal shares how her Dad's strict parenting style influenced her organisational skills but also led to an unhealthy level of perfectionism. We reflect on the importance of addressing old habits, self-love, and keeping healthy boundaries in our growth journeys. Crystal talked about her morning rutuals, that help her navigate the chaos of the day. We discussed the challenges and societal expectations around motherhood, including her decision to work full-time and the fabulous support she receives from her husband in managing family responsibilities. 'If you don't think you have time to meditate, you need to meditate', is a quote I heard way before I started meditating regularly, and one I've always remembered. In this solo episode, I focus is on the whole meditation thing, breaking down its perks backed by science, my own experiences and those of my coaching clients, while also tackling the hurdles you, yourself might face. I stress the importance of just being there, in the moment, and not expecting too much. It can begin with short moments of stillness, literally seconds, and become it part of your everyday rituals. It gets personal too, sharing how meditation isn't just about getting organised but also about letting go and simplifying things to find your zen, which is where I began. This episode isn't just my story – it's an intimate chat inviting you to dive into self-discovery and well-being amidst life's toughest choices.

Since being less serious is something I'm a HUGE advocate for, this was a must have conversation with Lisa Twohig (too=ig). What a delight! After 20 years in a corporate career in the engineering sector, Lisa ditched her job and left behind the 'serious' hat to pursue a career in online marketing and is leading the way in being lighthearted and FUN online (and in real life). You'll learn -how Lisa spends her mornings and gets her creative juices flowing -ways to stop being someone you're not and show up authentically -why you don't have to be a comedian to create engaging social media -how to speak from your heart -the real meaning of connection -why your values matter -how to use AI (artificial intelligence) to enhance your business (using real examples) -what it means to be intuitively guided Whilst Lisa helps entrepreneurs market their business in a lighthearted way, you don't have to be a business owner to enjoy this episode. Lisa Twohig is a visibility and content coach, who lives in Brisbane with her husband, two teenage boys, a super fluffy cat, and a wild possum called Gary. She's obsessed with encouraging women to ditch their 'professional voice', and can often be found sharing mildly inappropriate posts on Facebook and totally inappropriate stories in her emails.
