See course details and enroll here:https://www.georgekao.com/interview I've been interviewed on more than 100 creator channels, podcasts, and summits.I've also played the other role – I've interviewed more than 100 people on various webinars, videos, and podcast episodes. If I can be honest here – rarely am I impressed with how my host did… or if I'm the host, how my guests did. It often feels like an opportunity wasted for both sides...Yet – when it's done well, it's a simple and proven way to grow your audience – interview interesting people, and be interviewed by others… When you interview someone for your video channel, social media page, or podcast – and you do a good job as a host – your guest is naturally excited to share the recording, thereby growing your audience with people interested in your topic. This is a great way to connect with new potential clients. Vice versa – when you're being interviewed, and you do a great job as a guest, your host naturally is excited to share your interview even further! However:Hosts mostly don't know how to prepare their guests, nor how to draw out the most interesting sharing from the guest. They also mostly fail at follow-up with the guests, to make the episode sharing easier, and to create ongoing collaboration as appropriate.Guests don't know how to use the opportunity of an interview. They answer questions too literally. They explain themselves too much, rather than connect deeply with audience's yearnings and the hosts' curiosity. The guests then don't follow-up with the host regarding additional opportunities to connect and collaborate. These are all lost opportunities, and I'm on a mission to change that.I would love to see you become both an excellent interviewer and interviewee. This will help you to:Explore and practice communicating your message with deeper impact.Enjoy your “marketing” efforts – because you are connecting from the heart with others whose message you're genuinely curious about.Grow your audience (thanks to the added promotion of your host or guest) with new people who are more likely to be engaged and aligned with your work.Create friendships with new collaborators who can become client referral sources for you!If this sounds great to you, join me for a 3-week experience:Learn how to be a great host, with a step-by-step plan for reaching out to interesting guests, helping them prepare, bringing out their best, and hosting an excellent interview that they'll want to share for months to come.Learn how to be one of the best guests that hosts have had the pleasure to interview. You'll get a method for reaching out to interesting channels & podcasts that are more likely to say Yes. You will also learn how to present well in your interviews so the host is genuinely excited to share your episode widely.Connect with a group of kindred spirits in our course community with whom you can practice as you develop the skills to become a great host or guest! There will be a step-by-step process to find and match up with like-minded practice partners in this course.See course details and enroll here:https://www.georgekao.com/interview

Today's guest on Soulful Conversations is Karla Perez. Karla is the founder and integrative health coach at www.sweatygirl.com. In 2018, Karla was diagnosed with breast cancer and even though she already lived what she would call a healthy life the diagnosis invited her to go deeper into her own wellness journey. And during this journey, Karla began to thrive. And sweatygirl.com is Karla's platform and sacred offering where she shares the Sweaty Girl method that transformed her life. The Sweaty girl method is a four-pillar approach to complete well being and wholeness which incorporates the mind, body and spirit. Karla and I talked about her four pillars which are nutrition, yoga, breath movement and wellbeing. We also talked about resilience, self-care and the importance of removing negativity. We also went into her upcoming retreat. The more that you feed and strengthen your body, mind and spirit with positive fuel and nourishment is how you become more resilient. Karla says: How will you strengthen your body? You will eat nutritious foods, whole foods, good food to make your body absorb nutrients and build strength so that you become resilient to disease, infection and germs. You move your body. You breathe slowly and deeply to oxygenate your body. How will you strengthen your mind? Feeding yourself positive thoughts, positive affirmations and looking at yourself in the mirror and saying to yourself that you can do those things and you will succeed. How will you strengthen your spirit? You have to be able to let go of negativity. Release resentment. Release anything that doesn't serve you and in return accept love. Accept forgiveness. I really enjoyed this conversation and I hope that you do or so thank you for tuning in. Today I talk to Jen. Jen is highly educated and lived a well-respected and successful career as a police sergeant for the greater part of her life. Jen also was married for many years and has adult children. Jen also lived her life as a male called Jeff for her first 60 years or so. Jeff went to college, got married, had kids, built a career, but something never felt quite normal. The truth is you can't know what you just don't know. But then google appeared and answers to many unanswered questions were able to be explored. This is when Jeff knew he was really Jen. But it wasn't that easy. He had a mortgage, kids to look after, a dog to feed and a wife he loved deeply. He had commitments – and coming out as Jen just was not possible for him at that time. When his children had all grown up, sadly he lost his wife, and it was then that the call toward authenticity could no longer be denied and he knew that eventually, decisions would have to be made. The call towards authenticity is sacred, it's holy, It's for the greater good. Whilst transgender and the entire LGBT movement has moved positively forward in leaps and bounds. It still has a long way to go. The conservative way in which mainstream culture labels and defines everything in order to make things feel understood and comfortable is where much of the problems stem from. In a world where many things are still rejected because we simply don't understand them, we must rise strong and be willing to try and do what we can in order to honour the journey of another. Jen was extremely positive, humorous, and light-hearted and said for the most part most people were amazing and accepting. Jen shares her journey to becoming a transgender woman, and whilst she can't speak for other transgender women, I found a lot of strength, humour, warmth, acceptance and quite frankly inspiration from Jen's journey. I learned so much from Jen and it opened my mind even further. After all, what do any of us really know about the shoes in which we have never walked? Holding respect and having a curiosity for another's journey, which is different to our own, will expand our own minds, open our hearts, and grow our empathy. I really enjoyed chatting with Jen. Today, we live in a world that's more connected than ever. We have big data, big tech, and big opportunities that bring us together. We have at our fingertips all the information that we could ever need. Yet, despite all this connection, many of us are more disconnected from ourselves and the world that we live in than we ever have been before. So how do we get back on track and how do we reconnect and focus on what truly matters? Much of the answer lies in connecting with the invisible gift that we all have, but that many of us are not consciously using. This gift is known as our intuition. Even science is starting to prove that intuition is a real thing. We all have that internal knowing within us - in today's episode we talk about how to tune into it, how to hear it and how to trust PLUS what signs and signals to look for. Timeless Teachings - Spirituality and Mysticism in Daily Life
Have you ever had a conversation with God? A real one, when God is actually communicating with you too? Our guest today John Roedel is an improv comedic, who has been called “The Unafraid Storyteller”, has "stumbled" into writing a few years ago as his life began to fall apart all around him. During his dark night of the soul, John began to have fake conversations with "God" on Facebook to poke fun at his spiritual and personal crisis. What began as a flippant way of making light of his doubts in the Divine turned into something he wasn't at all prepared for: God wrote back. Since creating the popular "Hey God. Hey John." blog on Facebook three years ago, John has tackled such topics as his journey to mental health wellness, his lack of faith, the joy and pain of raising a child with autism, and grief, all in the form of a simple conversation with "God."Eventually, these conversations transformed straight into poetry that has touched hundreds of thousands of people all around the world. John's newest book “Remedy” has been on the Amazon bestseller list for poetry since its release this past November. Moments to Listen For:“Hey God. Spooky. The Take Home:If we stopped thinking of ourselves as just in our physical bodies, and dug deeper, we would find the constant true love we have within ourselves and the universe. We are more than just our bodies, we are just in a human form right now. Do you feel heard? Do you offer a safe space for your loved ones to feel heard by you? Setting to deliver her TedTalk speech this October, Terri first shares with us her expertise on evolutionary communication through listening. Terri Lonowski is the founder and practitioner of Soulful Listening, a sought-after international speaker, and a master facilitator. Terri elaborates all about the art of Soulful Listening. According to her, deep listening is love in action: The Soulful Listening Approach [2:45] “We bring quality of grace and compassion into every interaction.” Terri's Grandma Helga [10:08] “She's speaking possibility into me.” Deliberate Breathing [17:05] “We pick up on each other's energy.” Fear in Conversations [19:23] “Give ourselves permission to do better and try it out.” Emotional Intelligence [20:47] “If you're anxious on your own being, there's a reason for that.” Soulful Conversations [25:13] “Start small.” Improving Communication Skills [33:20] “Meeting the person where they are.” On Asking for Help [45:40] “We are designed to connect, period.” Toxic Relationships [47:50] “Part of self-care is setting healthy boundaries.” In Filling Your Cup [49:45] “Exuding abundance-in overflow.” Awareness and Gratitude [53:16] “What we focus upon does expand.” Being able to communicate and be understood is a need and the way we communicate is generational. It unleashes possibilities. What a different world it would be if we all felt seen, heard, and supported. We live in a peculiar world due to the pandemic. Many are lonely. In this episode, I connect with a very dear soul sister and friend, Farrah Theresa. Farrah is a nature connection guide, permaculturalist, and musician. Her and I speak about 'ecological identity' and the various threads that lead into and out of this concept. We gently dig into rich soil together, co-locating ourselves in the sacred realms of being human, being here on earth, being of earth, and being for earth. Farrah also shares a powerful guided meditation as well as a gorgeous and haunting song weaving that she channels on the piano in the moment. Farrah's BioMy name is Farrah, South African born and bred on the land of the Sesotho , isiZulu, IsiXhosa & Setswana, currently living on Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nation (Squamish) land in British Columbia, Canada. With my foremost training Social Anthropology & Psychology I first channeled my love for the service of humanity from a social perspective and later into eco-social endeavors as an Environmental Educator, Permaculturalist and general plant-enthusiast in Thailand, Malaysia, South Africa and most recently, the West Coast of Canada. Something kept tugging at me soul to go deeper, to connect with the roots of my childhood in wild places where the dangers of baboons, green mambas and wild bush-pigs kept us ever witness to our place in the world. Thus began my journey 'back to my wildish-nature' through the guidance of the Work That Reconnects, Forest Bathing, Coyote's Guide and Braiding Sweetgrass. And so I offer you this co-exploration of deepening & expanding our true relationship with the natural world through intentional earth-based practices. My deepest hope in these offerings is that we may learn to live our lives in authentic gratitude for all that we are gifted in this life, and in so doing co-create a more harmonious world. ______________________________________________________________________To learn more about Farrah and her beautiful offerings you can find her online at...Website: https://www.farrahtheresa.com/Current Offering: Self-Guided Forest BathingInstagram: @farrah_theresaSoundCloud: https://soundcloud.com/farrahtheresaPatreon: https://www.patreon.com/FarrahTheresaShow Notes:Music "Running Water" by Jason Shaw from the Free Music Archivehttps://freemusicarchive.org/music/Jason_Shaw/Audionautix_Acoustic/RUNNING_WATERS______________2-46"Clear Waters" by Kevin MacLeod from Incomtech https://incompetech.filmmusic.io/song/3516-clear-watersPodcast theme music is "Karma Cat" by Dyalla (Creative Commons License)Books MentionedComing Back to Life ~ by Joanna Macy and Molly Young Brown Thinking Like a Mountain ~ Multiple AuthorsMagdalene Manuscript ~ Tom KenyonEcological Intelligence ~ Ian McCallum Ecotherapy: Healing with Nature in Mind ~ Linda Buzzell and Craig ChalquistAnansi Boys ~ Neil GaimonWomen Who Run With the Wolves ~ Dr. Clarissa Pinkola-EstesSupport the show (https://www.patreon.com/ambersamaya)Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/ambersamaya)

What do we know about death, if anything at all? And if we do not fully understand or even accept death, how can we possibly understand and accept life? Today's guest has a direct experience with this subject, because, truth be told, she is dying. Eugenia has been diagnosed with a critical illness and doctors say that she might have just a few months left to live.Yes, I know, in our current society people do not talk about death that openly, yet this is exactly why Eugenia Gajardo is here with us today – she wants to inspire a conversation about death just the way we talk about life.Get yourself a cup of tea, keep your mind open and get ready for a deep dive into the Truth. Timeless Teachings - Spirituality and Mysticism in Daily Life
Russian by birth, Indian by marriage, Global by naturalization. A life story so fascinating that it can be a plot for the book or a movie. Being born into a mystical family, growing up with gangsters and prostitutes, fleeing Russia at the age of 21 with 100 US dollars in my pocket, traveling all over the world, being trapped in a very difficult and dramatic first marriage, failing over and over and over again in businesses and all other things that people usually do in Samsara, at some point I decided to climb Mt Kilimanjaro in Africa, drive a motorbike across Himalayan mountains in India, visit shamans in Peru, knock on the doors of Tibetan monasteries in Bhutan… all in search for answers. Only to realize that everything I have been searching for has always been within me from the very beginning when I came into this world. Once this realization has fully settled in my mind, I felt it is time to share it with people around me. This is how Timeless Teachings podcast was born – out of deep love for humanity. We are so much more than what we think we are! In this episode I am being interviewed by Aarti Sharma about the depth of my soul, why are we here and what it means to live a truly fulfilling life!Get yourself a cup of tea, keep your mind open and get ready for a deep dive into the Truth. In Ash's first monologue for Soulful Conversation he talks about mindset tips and tricks that are useful for lockdown and of course any time. Placing too much emphasis on the many things that are out of our control can be dangerous. Turn off the news it promotes fear which suppresses the immune system by triggering the flight or fight response and renders us powerless through drawing our attention to things that, by definition we can't change. Ash is suggesting we take an opposite approach and focus strongly on the things we can change which happen to be the very subject matter of Soulful Conversations!Mindset, wisdom and daily habits for improving the mind, the physical body and spiritual connection. This is a time to be ambitious and optimistic in areas that we can change and draw on taoist, buddhist, self help and personal growth writings to help us face the things we can't change. Today's podcast guest, Juliette Woods, is an incredible mix of mystic, mother, spiritual guide, creative, and earth spiritualist. In our conversation we talk about...The concept of a 'slow-cooked' life and regenerative self care Tending to ourselves by tuning into our innate capacities, seeking emancipation from the paradigm of overdoingThe recognition that we are re-learning how to be in circle and the balance between patience, openness, compassion, boundaries, and...well, we'll figure it out eventually! Welcome back to Soulful Conversations with Ash Grunwald. Today I’m chatting with Ziggy Alberts who is just nearing the end of his 34 show tour of Australia and New Zealand. This young dude is just ‘ripping’ at life right now.
