Around about a year ago I found out that Arthur Guinness, famed creator of the black stuff, got married in the former church, current restaurant and bar, located on Mary Street in Dublin 1. Despite my many visits to this bar, I had no idea of this little piece of history which happened right in Dublin City Centre. I learned this from today's guest Ross and I've subsequently learned all sorts of random and interesting facts about Irish culture and Irish history from his amazing page on Instagram. In this chat we learn a little more about the man behind the content and his journey which led him to take such an interest in history and his passion for sharing it with us all. If you haven't heard of Ross before, check out his Instagram page, which you'll find in the description of this episode and watch out for his new upcoming podcast.Ross' Instagram Pagewww.instagram.com/talktoross/Emailalifeindublin@gmail.comOur Instagram Pageinstagram.com/a_life_in_dublin/ Hosted on Acast. Ook vertellen ze wat ze over een eventuele Nintendo Direct hebben gehoord, bespreken ze de Xenoblade Chronicles 3-presentatie en speculeren ze over Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 Reunion. This week on Shaken Not Nerd the boys try something a little different! We were out and about at a podcasting mega event (keep your ears peeled) and we decided to record out in the essence of nature, and by nature i mean sitting around a table outside and this weeks Retro Revival is bought to you by Ian (and also our friends at Incognito Comics) Unfortunately we don't have our vibrant host Ollie (as he's in Japan) and ass we are recording outside our nerd room, we don't have the normal sound board... but we do have Ian singing all the sounds effects! (Seeing as he has the voice of an angel!) Shaken Not Nerd is bought to you by our friends at Incognito Comics! We wouldn't be where we are without them! A change of pace this week too, as Dudi takes a back seat while Tom runs the news and Fuzzy leads the Matrix! Ian has a mini piano, and we have ANOTHER guess that sounds with Ollie? Will Dudi make it 3 for 3? Find out on this weeks episode of Dragon Ball z... i mean... Shaken Not Nerd Shaken Not Nerd is bought to you by Incognito Comics! Back on our Into the Spider-Verse an off hand comment were made about the 2001 movie Shrek that split the hosts down the middle, and now its time to find out who loves Shrek, and who doesn't Unfortunately we were without our soundboard operator and screaming digit copper man Ollie, so we made a make-shift soundboard (if you can call it that) with Fuzzy Dan behind the helm. (please refer to him in all comments as CAPTAIN Fuzzy) Besides talking about Shrek, we also discuss this weeks news and events, while two hosts nurse a hangover.
It's happened again.. Shaken Not Nerd has another host If you're just joining us, Shaken Not Nerd held auditions for a 5th Host and it was stiff competition! We had reporters in the field chase down applicants, we had a stalker friend/fan, we had a renoun podcaster, and even a many with an exceptional beard (and laugh). There are also some changes here and there that might surprise regular listeners... This Week the 5 hosts review Robin Hood, and no not the 2018 Robin Hood that's getting canned at the box office. They review a GOOD Robin Hood movie, Men in Tights! But it's not Shaken Not Nerd without talking about some bad movie, so the boys also watched and review 2005's Doom.. yup... Doom (Ollie really wanted to watch Doom... send all compaints to Ollie... he also has had his sticker treatment revoked) So sit back, relax, and enjoy this weeks episode of Shaken Not Nerd! Shaken Not Nerd is bought to you by Incognito Comics! Still playing Spiderman on PS4? (the new DLC is out and so far its pretty good!) Not all the music that is currently being released is great. A majority of it with its aggressive, staccato synth stabs, uninspired 128 BPM tempo and lack of “song” comes off like so much repetitive clap-track on a fast road to nowhere. What’s a DJ with high standards to do? The answer is “dig in the crates!!!”I've been exploring my prized music collection for a few recent gigs and have cherry-picked a rare selection of tunes to craft a modern-yet-retro homage to the incredible 80’s. It is so much fun to see people react to rarely played classics and sing along with their favorites that have been sonically updated. Add in some current songs that have an unmistakable 80’s alternative vibe to them and violà! It has become a great set to spin live, and, a hell of a lot of fun to experience.Enjoy LOLLIPOP'S 80's RETRO REVIVAL - 2012 MODERN MIX a blend of rowdy, randy & intoxicating party songs with a sophisticated twist that celebrate some of the rarer eighties club classics.
