O Chile vai polarizado para o segundo turno da eleição presidencial, marcado para 14 de dezembro. A candidata Jeannette Jara, do Partido Comunista, vai enfrentar o ultradireitista José Antonio Kast, do Partido Republicano. As diferentes forças da direita que se apresentaram nas urnas conseguiram, juntas, um apoio majoritário no primeiro turno, realizado ontem. Com mais de 80% das urnas apuradas, a candidata do governo, apoiada pelo presidente Gabriel Boric, se impunha com 26,7% dos votos, seguida de perto por Kast, com 24,1%. Em terceiro lugar, estava o populista Franco Parisi, do Partido de La Gente, com 19,4%, à frente do libertário Johannes Kaiser, com 13,9%, e de Evelyn Matthei, de centro-direita, com 12,7% dos votos. Kaiser e Matthei declararam apoio a Kast após a divulgação dos resultados parciais. Em entrevista à Rádio Eldorado, Roberto Uebel, professor de Relações Internacionais da ESPM São Paulo, disse que “tudo indica que Kust deve ganhar mais apoio”. Ele não descartou, no entanto, a possibilidade de uma reviravolta para conter o avanço da extrema-direita. Em carta ao presidente Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) publicada ontem na rede Truth Social, o presidente dos Estados Unidos, Donald Trump, comunicou a imposição de uma tarifa de 50% sobre os produtos brasileiros exportados para o mercado americano a partir do dia 1º de agosto. Trump citou como justificativa para a medida “centenas de ordens de censura secretas e injustas para plataformas de mídia social dos Estados Unidos” e o que chamou de “caça às bruxas” contra o ex-presidente Jair Bolsonaro (PL), que é réu por tentativa de golpe de Estado no Supremo Tribunal Federal (STF). Após a divulgação da carta, Lula se reuniu com ministros e decidiu que a resposta ao governo americano virá por meio da Lei de Reciprocidade Econômica, que entrou em vigor em abril, já sob a ameaça do tarifaço. Lula ainda conversou com o presidente do STF, Luís Roberto Barroso, e combinou que a reação brasileira será concentrada no Ministério das Relações Exteriores. Os ataques do grupo Hamas contra Israel neste sábado são os maiores dos últimos 10 anos, apesar disso, a violência deverá permanecer concentrada na região. É o que afirma o professor de Relações Internacionais da ESPM e de Geografia da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Roberto Uebel. Neste sábado o Hamas disparou mais de 3 mil foguetes contra Israel, realizou invasões terrestres e sequestrou civis. Uebel afirma que a principal consequência deverá ser uma dificuldade ainda maior para possíveis negociações de paz.

Über einen Hamburger Kult-Club und dem Spagat zwischen Idealismus und Kommerz. Stefanie Hochmuth ist in leitender Funktion im „Uebel & Gefährlich“ tätig, einem mehrfach ausgezeichneten Club im Hamburger Stadtteil St. Pauli, der 2006 im 4. Stock eines riesigen Hoch-Bunkers eröffnet wurde. Gebürtig aus dem Harz stammend, tauchte Stefanie Hochmuth in Hamburg schnell in die Musik- und Gastrowelt ein und arbeitete früh im „Uebel & Gefährlich“; damals noch mit Mitgründer Tino Hanekamp. Mittlerweile in führender Position als u.a. als Produktionsleiterin tätig, lenkt sie die Geschicke des bekannten Clubs seit vielen Jahren mit und berichtet im Redfield Podcast über die Philosophie des „Uebel & Gefährlich“. Die besitzt viel Idealismus und muss sich trotzdem kommerziell tragen. Immer wieder ein nervenaufreibender Spagat, der sie insbesondere während der Pandemie auf die Probe stellte. Im Interview berichtet sie außerdem über „Die Heiterkeit“ für die sie zwischen 2010 und 2013 trommelte. Die Indie-Band heimste nach Gründung aufgrund ihrer eigenwilligen Inszenierung viele begeisterte Kritiken ein. Die Autodidaktin am Schlagzeug verließ die Band jedoch nach drei Jahren, spielte nie wieder in einer anderen Gruppe und erklärt im Redfield Podcast ihre Beweggründe. Offen berichtet Hochmuth auch über die Zeit, als der Club ihr Berufs- und Privatleben fast gleichzeitig bestimmte und wie es ihr gelang, ein wenig Abstand zu gewinnen und neue Kraft zu tanken.
