This week's letter is also from Newton, but it is general in its focus. Titled Grace in the Blade, Newton displays his shepherding heart to a young believer. He described the experience of many Christians who are babes in Christ, including the doubts, fears, encouragements, and victories. This is not the season when a Christian is, as he says, “laden with ripe fruit,” but he rather “has a peculiar beauty in blossom.” The fruit is not fully present as it will be, but the beginnings of that fruit are being produced. The young Christian may be discouraged by this reality, but Newton says it should be encouraging because there is currently life where before there was only death. There is an interest in and a love of God where previously there was only apathy, disdain, or enmity. For those who are further down the path of walking with Christ, Newton also offers some sweet and practical advice for walking alongside these baby Christians and helping them grow in grace. Send us a textII Corinthians 9Paul continues to focus on generosity and cheerful giving. He encourages the Corinthians to fulfill their commitment to give generously to brethren in need, emphasizing that giving should be done willingly, not reluctantly or under pressure. He reminds them that whoever sows sparingly will reap sparingly, but whoever sows generously will reap abundantly. God loves a cheerful giver and provides abundantly so that believers can continue doing good works. Paul assures them that God will supply and multiply their resources, increasing the harvest of their righteousness. Their generosity not only meets the needs of others but also brings thanksgiving to God. Through giving, believers glorify God and demonstrate the power of the gospel. Paul ends by praising God for His indescribable gift, the ultimate example of generosity—Jesus Christ. Generosity should stem from a willing and joyful heart, not from pressure or reluctance. It is a privilege to participate in the “ministry to the saints.” Paul reminds us that God loves a cheerful giver, and when we give, God often provides abundantly so we can continue to bless others. Do we give reluctantly, or do we view it as an opportunity to serve God? Generosity results in thanksgiving to God and a stronger faith. We must trust God with our resources, submitting what we have to Him. As we give, we share God's grace with others. True generosity is not about the amount but about the heart behind it, eager to help those in need, especially fellow believers. Benevolent God, thank You for being our provider and for teaching us the joy of generosity. Help us to give with willing and cheerful hearts, not out of obligation but as an act of love and faith. Remind us that all we have comes from You and that You will always supply our needs. May our giving bring glory to You, bless others, and lead to thanksgiving in Your name. Teach us to trust in Your abundant provision, knowing that generosity reflects Your grace. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Indian jailor and guards beats five pastors Five pastors in central India were assaulted in custody last month.  It all began when a Hindu mob disrupted a church service. Authorities responded by arresting the pastors and slapping them with false charges of forced conversions! Then, the jailor and guards beat the ministers.  One pastor told Morning Star News, “They grabbed the opportunity, and without any trial or evidence beat us mercilessly, simply because we are Christians. … Here in Chhattisgarh [State], they are targeting all the smaller churches. … Hindu extremists target every private celebration taking place in Christian homes.” Please pray for our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ in India. The country is ranked 11th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of the most difficult countries worldwide to be a Christian.  Proverbs 17:15 says, “He who justifies the wicked, and he who condemns the just, both of them alike are an abomination to the LORD.” Armenia and Azerbaijan sign historic peace deal at White House The leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan signed a joint declaration for peace at the White House last Friday.  U.S. President Donald Trump called the agreement “historic” as it aims to end decades of conflict between the two southwestern Asian countries.  Armenia and Azerbaijan also signed economic agreements with the U.S., opening the region to American businesses.  Listen to comments from President Trump. TRUMP: “For more than 35 years, Armenia and Azerbaijan have fought a bitter conflict that resulted in tremendous suffering for both nations. They suffered gravely for so many years. Many tried to find a resolution. … They were unsuccessful. But with this accord, we've finally succeeded in making peace.” Trump cracks down on D.C. crime President Trump announced plans on Monday to crack down on crime in Washington, D.C. National Guard members arrived at the nation's capital yesterday. Trump also put the Metropolitan Police Department of the District of Columbia under federal control.  President Trump said, “This is Liberation Day in D.C. and we're going to take our capital back.” The White House noted, “If Washington, D.C. was a state, it would have the highest homicide rate of any state in the nation.” 415 hostile incidents against U.S. churches in 2024 The Family Research Council released their latest report on hostility against churches in the United States. Last year, American churches faced 415 hostile incidents. That's down from 485 incidents in 2023 but up from 50 incidents in 2018. Incidents included vandalism, arson, gun-related incidents, and bomb threats. Tony Perkins, the president of Family Research Council, remarked, “The American woke Left has been intentional in spreading its hostility toward the Christian faith throughout every corner of America. … Christians must … demand more from their government leaders when it comes to … preventing criminal acts targeting religious freedom.” 77th city becomes sanctuary for the unborn Life News reports that Douglassville, Texas became the 77th city in the U.S. to ban abortion last Tuesday.  The city council of Douglassville unanimously passed an ordinance to become a Sanctuary City for the Unborn. (You can send a quick one-sentence email of thanks to the City Council members through a special link in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com) The ordinance prohibits elective abortions in the city limits. It also bans abortions on Douglassville residents, regardless of where the abortion takes place.  Pastor Heston McLaurin of Douglassville Fellowship Church said, “I thank the Lord for every step forward in defending the lives of unborn children. Proverbs 6:17 says that God hates ‘hands that shed innocent blood' and He is the defender of the helpless.” Americans get majority of calories from ultra-processed foods New data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention found that Americans get most of their calories from ultra-processed foods. Such foods include sandwiches and burgers, sweet bakery products, savory snacks, pizza, and sweetened beverages. Americans get 55 percent of their calories from these ultra-processed foods. That number rose to nearly 62 percent for kids through age 18. 438th baptism anniversary of Indian named Manteo And finally, today marks the 438th anniversary of the baptism of a notable Native American.  Manteo received baptism on August 13, 1587, into the Church of England on Roanoke Island. It was considered the first baptism in the new world and the first baptism of an Indian into the Church of England. The Algonquian Indian helped English settlers at Roanoke make it through a harsh winter in 1585. Manteo also became one of the first Indians to ever visit England. He is remembered as a stalwart friend of the English in the new world. Romans 5:6-8 — It is the kindness of God that leads His people to salvation. That kindness and love of God is evident throughout the book of Romans as Dr. Lloyd-Jones continues proclaiming its truth in this sermon on Romans 5:6-8. Christ's love ensures the finality of salvation. It is easy to point out that most people do not truly understand the riches they have in salvation because of Christ's love since all are sinful people. In the sermon “Love That Produces Salvation,” Dr. Martyn Lloyd-Jones breaks down Romans 5:6–8 and shares just how much Christians have received because of Christ's love for His people. The first realization of this love is that Christ Himself produced and created salvation before the foundation of the earth was made. A second realization is that Christ not only came to the earth, but He also chose to die and bear God's wrath in humanity's place. Finally, the listener needs to consider the type of people that benefit from that salvation. These people are not wonderful, good-natured people; they are full of sin and completely undeserving. They are weak and incapable of doing anything that would warrant salvation, and this alone proves that the Lord loved His own enough to save them Himself. This gives the Enemy a foothold in your heart.Samantha shares a personal story about her daughter's sensitivity and how it gave the Enemy an opening.Addressing these issues is important early on to prevent long-term damage in children.However, not all trauma is extreme, and even small, unresolved issues can build up over time and cause significant emotional pain.[09:43] The Role of the Church in Healing Satanic Ritual AbuseThe church is important in providing healing and deliverance especially when many people feel rejected or unheard in church settings.Many Christians struggle with the idea of being affected by demons despite being saved from Satanic ritual abuse — although salvation came unto them, they have yet to heal.In the same vein, there's a critical difference between the regeneration of the spirit and the healing of the soul.Christians need to understand that healing is not a one-time event. It's a process.[15:36] Practical Steps for Healing and Surrender to ChristAs Christians, we must remember the power that comes from surrendering to Christ and immersing ourselves in prayer and the Word.Being prayerful and seeking guidance from the Holy Spirit are some of the most powerful tools for us to receive true healing.[18:25] Samantha: “You can't just expect the Spirit to just fall on, the Holy Spirit to just do everything. You have got to take initiative and surrender to the Lord.”Healing doesn't come from nothing — it's hard work. It requires us to take the initiative to heal ourselves as well.We need a genuine desire for Jesus and the willingness to do the difficult work that goes into healing your soul.[20:27] The Importance of Identity and Whose We AreIt is important to recognize your identity in Christ and understand who we belong to.David, despite his sins, was remembered for being a man after God's own heart because of his desire for the Lord.There is a need for discipleship and understanding the word to grasp one's identity in Christ.[29:43] Michelle: “I want you to know that when someone finally recognizes who they are and whose they are, this is one of the key things. Even while Daniel was in Babylon, Daniel never forgot who he was.”As Christians, it's our God-given obligation to love others and bear witness to the love of Jesus.[30:38] The Role of the Holy Spirit in HealingMichelle discusses the role of the Holy Spirit in healing and the importance of being open to His guidance.One story to remember in the Bible is that of the woman at the well, who, due to her faith, was transformed and healed by the love of Jesus.There's a need for genuine love and support from the Church to help others heal.Receiving healing lets a person help others in turn.The Church becomes the bridge between brokenness and healing.[36:28] Holiness and RepentanceThe role of the church in addressing triggers lies in providing healing for those who are struggling.The soul needs to walk in the power and authority of God and Christ — something a person's Church must understand.Healing requires holiness and repentance; part of a true desire for God comes from overcoming and repenting our sins.Healing comes from a place of genuine love and support, especially from the Church.Overcoming the deep wounds of Satanic ritual abuse requires addressing the root causes behind a person's emotional pain and trauma.[51:28] Closing Prayer and EncouragementThrough God's guidance and protection, we can overcome all adversity, even that which comes from the Enemy.May you remember to be a part of the remnant Church.Keep true to God's commandments and love.About MichelleMichelle Young is a devoted servant of God, with over 30 years of experience in discipling and counseling those seeking spiritual healing and freedom. When you live in the New York area, locking up your house is just second nature. In fact, it's wise to make sure that every door and every window is locked. Unfortunately, all those precautions can work against you if you forget or lose your house key. Yes, this is the voice of experience. Not only are all those nasty people locked out, you are now locked out! I've been there and done that. I can remember making a complete circuit of the house, desperately trying every window and every door. And the good news was that sometimes I actually found something was unlocked. I'd take even a window that I had to be a contortionist to get through! Anything to find a way to get in! I'm Ron Hutchcraft and I want to have A Word With You today about "The Open Door On a Locked-Up Heart." There are probably some people in your world who you want in heaven with you someday - people who probably don't know your Jesus yet. Maybe people who seem to have little interest in knowing Jesus. Sometimes, it seems as if the doors to their heart are all locked up when it comes to Him. But there is a way to get in, no matter how hostile they may seem. In our word for today from the Word of God in 1 Peter 2:12, Peter says we should "live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day He visits us." He even says that "by doing good you should silence the ignorant talk of foolish men." A lost person might resist your invitation to Christian meetings and reject your Christian beliefs; but random acts of love and kindness? They're usually a key that unlocks even the hardest hearts. As Jesus carried out His rescue mission here on earth, He wrapped His message in concrete acts of love - touching the leper that no one would touch, going to dinner with "sinners" that the religious people avoided, going to a neighborhood where racial barriers said He should never go, or cuddling the children who came to Him. That kind of love tears down walls between a believer and an unbeliever; it challenges an unbeliever's misconceptions about Christians being angry, and condemning and uncaring. It creates curiosity about what makes this caring person tick. And the good news is that anybody can show Jesus' love to a lost person. You don't have to have a theological education or a Hollywood personality. It simply requires that you focus on someone whose eternity you care about and you ask yourself this question: "Knowing what I know about this person, what things could I do that would make him or her feel loved?" Maybe it's babysitting or helping to care for a live-in parent for free, filling in at work so they can have a day off, or helping with a school subject that person is struggling with, or maybe you could provide transportation, or offer to do some "dirty work" for them. Maybe it's forgiving a debt or providing work for them. You could introduce a newcomer to his new surroundings, open your home for dinner, how about repairing a vehicle or an appliance, or just taking an interest in something that matters to them. I call it "rescue loving." It involves a conscious effort to identify what would make a lost person in your life feel loved. You can find a person's language of love by asking, "What need do they have right now that I could help with?" You literally go looking for needs into which you can pour the kind of love with which Jesus has loved you. That's how you find the open door to a life that you can't get into any other way.

The people of God in Ezra's time experienced opposition strikingly similar to what many Christians face today. Societies and governments have changed, but the tactics haven't. Ezra 4 reveals three familiar strategies: syncretistic offers of "unity" that require compromising the Gospel, bureaucratic warfare that weaponizes legal systems against believers, and the use of government power to forcibly shut down God's work. When the Jews reject their neighbors' insincere help to rebuild the Temple, these adversaries shift from being conciliatory to spreading misinformation and bribing officials to stop the work entirely. Ezra even points forward to examples of God's opponents securing royal decrees to stop the reconstruction of Jerusalem itself as examples of the opposition God's people face in this world.  The Rev. The Persian king Cyrus issues an astonishing decree: the exiles may go home. Among them are the Jews—God's chosen people—whom this pagan ruler not only repatriates, but commands to rebuild the temple of the Lord. Ezra 1–4 tells of their return, the joy of restored worship, and the crushing opposition that brings construction to a standstill. Then the prophets Haggai and Zechariah speak with God's authority, calling His people to courage, repentance, and hope.
