What did you think of this episode? As a writer, your story behind the story may prompt you to give up. But not this day!!! Get ready to hear today's story with Lori Stanley Roeleveld. Welcome to Your Best Writing Life, an extension of the Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conference held in the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of NC. I'm your host, Linda Goldfarb. Each week, I bring tips and strategies from writing and publishing industry experts to help you excel in your craft. I'm so glad you're listening in. During this episode, we continue a new addition to Your Best Writing Life with The Story Behind the Stories series. My industry expert, Lori Stanley Roeleveld, is a writer, writing coach, speaker, devotional firestarter, and certified disturber of hobbits. She helps Christian writers find their voice, finish their books, and follow Jesus into the hidden places where real transformation begins. Her work is biblical, brave, merciful, and delightfully dangerous to the darkness.Tell us the story behind - God's Abundant Mercy: 40 Days of Living in His Compassion.Three tips for writers.a. Write WITH God, not FOR God. Don't imagine that writing is holy, but branding and marketing are not. You can approach brand and market in a soul-satisfying way.b. Manage your mindset and your energy, and your time/calendar will then come into line.c. Abandon deficit thinking in favor of an abundance mindset in writing and in life. Trust God has given you everything you need for life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3). What will the listeners gain from your book? Writers who experience God's Abundant Mercy will see what it looks like to write about Scripture with confidence and authority but without answering “all the questions” or presenting formulas. Each chapter ends with questions that my research and reflection left me asking.Readers will come away with a fresh perspective on God from the beginning of the Bible into eternity and a deeper appreciation of God's mercy for each of us and how truly receiving that mercy shapes us to reflect it to others.
In this episode, hosts Frank La Vigne and Candace Gillhoolley sit down with Angus Nelson—author, podcaster, and expert on leadership and human potential in the age of AI. Together, they dive deep into the rapidly changing landscape of technology and work, exploring how relentless market volatility, AI advancements, and global complexity are putting unprecedented stress on individuals and organizations alike.Angus Nelson shares insights from his book, "Neuro Resilient Leader: The Internal Operating System for Leading at the Speed of Change," challenging the notion that grinding harder is the key to success. Instead, he argues that true leadership today demands clarity, capacity, and composure—and that our biggest challenges are rooted not in strategy or data, but in our internal operating systems and mindset.Tune in as they unpack the myths of grind culture, the critical importance of mental well-being in the digital era, and practical ways to protect and elevate our collective "brain capital." Maximizing team productivity isn't about doing more, it's about aligning the right people to the right work. In this conversation, Laura Lillie Goodridge shares how leaders can improve output by focusing on team chemistry and intentional work allocation. Two takeaways you can apply immediately: align tasks with individual strengths rather than relying on role assumptions, and shift from solving to exploring. Curiosity around how your team naturally operates leads to stronger, more sustainable performance. With a global HR background spanning McLaren Automotive and Clear Channel UK, followed by senior leadership roles in Toronto, Laura brings a well-rounded perspective to leadership development. Since launching Laura Lillie Coaching in 2023, she has focused on helping leaders better understand and leverage individual differences within their teams. We explore how self-awareness shapes leadership, including the role of human design in understanding how individuals show up at work. Laura emphasizes that leaders are not limited to one style and can expand how they lead in ways that feel more natural and effective.A key challenge many leaders face is misaligned work allocation. While assessments have their place, Laura highlights a simpler approach: ask people what they enjoy and where they feel most capable. This shift can significantly improve both performance and engagement. She also introduces a valuable reframe on development. Teams don't need to excel at everything. Instead, focus on excellence in core responsibilities while allowing flexibility in less critical areas. When individuals are aligned to roles that match their strengths, productivity increases and work becomes more energizing. Laura reinforces this with a simple reminder that slow is fast. Taking time to thoughtfully align people and priorities leads to better long-term results. As a final takeaway, start viewing your team through the lens of strengths rather than tasks. Have a direct conversation with each team member about where they feel most effective and where they want to grow. This small shift can create a more aligned, engaged, and high-performing team.Links:Follow Laura on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/the-manager-coach/Laura's Coaching Website: https://www.lauralilliecoaching.com/Follow Suken on LinkedIn at: https://www.linkedin.com/in/sukenjain/Email Suken at: suken@synergysyncsolutions.comSynergy Sync Solutions Website: https://www.synergysyncsolutions.com/This episode was brought to you by Pivot Ball Change.

When I first started my coaching business, one of the first things I did was build a website.I thought having a website would make my business look legitimate. So I bought the domain, started designing the pages, and planned to send people there. But what I didn't realize at the time was this:A website only works when the foundation behind it is clear.Without the right messaging, niche, and copy, a beautiful website won't bring you clients. In this episode, I'm sharing two of the biggest mistakes I see coaches make when building their website — mistakes that can cost thousands of dollars and months of frustration. If you're thinking about building a website (or already have one), this episode will help you make sure it actually works. In this episode we talk about:Why many coaches build their website too earlyThe real purpose of a coaching websiteWhy copy should come before designThe messaging mistake that makes websites confusingWhy nobody will visit your website unless you promote itThe two foundational things every coaching website needs

They're just online brochures all about the coach and coaching with no mention of the audience, only a list of all the ways the coach can help anyone. That's because the website was created before the coach:· Chose a viable target audience to serve· Knows the big problems that cause them to seek answers, and· Writes trust-building copy informed by research (and I don't mean AI!)Web designers will gladly create a pretty and trendy website but nothing much comes of it. The start of a new year can feel exciting, and it can also feel heavy, full of pressure to ‘level up' or hit all your goals at once. Sometimes, we find ourselves in the space in between, not quite where we were and not yet where we're going. It can feel uncertain, dark, and uncomfortable. In this episode, I share personal journal entries from a season of transition and reflect on what it means to show up for yourself when life feels paused. We'll explore how this in-between space shows up in your health, your habits, your energy, and your wellness routines, and why it doesn't mean you're off track. Winter is a time to slow down, rest, and rebuild with intention. This is your moment to adjust, nurture consistency with compassion, and honor where you are, so you can move forward stronger when your season shifts. Come sit with me in ‘The Space Between' and give yourself permission to simply be where you are. ✨ Work With Me & Other Resources:

Silvia Resnik is a certified coach with a Master's degree in Business Economics. Her professional journey began as a kindergarten teacher, transitioned into HR Management, and eventually led her to entrepreneurship. On the surface, she had checked all the boxes: a fulfilling career, marriage, a beautiful home, and a well-structured life. Yet, despite these accomplishments, Silvia felt an inner void. Years of self-exploration led her to uncover that she is an alone-born twin—a revelation that provided some insight but didn't bring the peace she sought. The turning point came during her encounter with the Maasai people on a journey to Zanzibar. Their heart-centered way of living resonated deeply with her, igniting a profound shift in her life. Today, Silvia splits her life between Austria and Tanzania, blending coaching with Maasai-inspired wisdom to guide women who, despite outward success, yearn for inner alignment. Through her unique coaching style, she helps these women rediscover their inner voice and design lives filled with freedom and fulfillment. Committed to giving back, Silvia also supports Maasai women and children in forging paths toward independence through her charitable initiatives. Do you need a website for your coaching business? And if you already have one, is it working for you or just sitting pretty on the internet? In this value-packed episode, I've invited digital marketing expert Brad Ball (head of Liquis Digital) to reveal the critical elements that transform a basic coaching website into a powerful client-attraction machine. Brad breaks down the three must-have elements of a high-converting coaching website: Clear primary AND secondary calls to action (and why most coaches miss the second one) A hero section that communicates your value in 7 seconds or less A focus on benefits over features (what your clients care about) We also bust the myth that website design is the most important element - "A website isn't an art project—it's a marketing tool." Brad reveals why the CONTENT of your website is 100% more important than how it looks. For coaches considering Facebook ads, Brad shares a simple strategy to start with just $5/day and explains why installing your pixel is the critical step most coaches skip. We discuss how to know when you're ready for ads and how to use them to test your offers. Is it always about price? If you're in the grocery store and your primary goal is to save on groceries then you will look at the price of each similar product and choose the least expensive.Someone else with different priorities will read the label to see what is in the product and choose that way. Still, others will be attracted by packaging or brand. The same will be true of your coaching prospects:· Some are price conscious.· Some take cues from how you show up in the world and make decisions based on their intuition or gut.· Some will compare all possible service providers and make their decision analytically. The question becomes — WHO do you want to attract? The person who decides everything by price or the person who is guided by a more holistic decision?I want to work with people who fit me and who feel I and my program are a good fit for them. My goal is to attract my ideal clients. What about you?I'd love to hear from you. After working in marketing agencies for 12 years, including as Client Services Account Director for Carlson Marketing in England, she and her husband David moved to Arizona in 2006 and founded DGR Communications.Ginnie's strength lies in digital strategy and helping businesses achieve clarity in their brand messaging. Her approach focuses on creating websites and marketing strategies that authentically reflect both the business owner's personality and their client's needs. When not elevating her clients' online presence, she enjoys yoga, hiking with her German Shepherd, traveling the world, and enjoying Arizona evenings with a good book and glass of wine.Key Takeaways:Start with the basics and secure your domain name first. This is your digital real estate that costs just $10-20 per year but establishes your professional identity.Your website gives you credibility. Even a simple one-page site proves you exist when someone checks after getting a referral.Don't overthink your starter website; begin with just home, about, and contact pages rather than getting stuck in perfectionism.Skip the blog when starting out—an outdated blog signals neglect, while no blog at all goes unnoticed.Ensure your website reflects who you actually are; a disconnect between your bubbly personality and a sterile website confuses potential clients.Your website is a breathing, living tool—neglecting it for months is like abandoning your 24/7 marketing representative.Drive traffic back to your website from newsletters and other channels—more traffic means higher search engine rankings and greater visibility.
