This is Russell Brunson, welcome to the Marketing Secrets podcast. I learned something really interesting about myself tonight and I wanted to share it with you guys. Hey everyone, I hope everything is going amazing for you guys. Friday, I did a training. So the training was for everybody who had gone to the 10x Growth Con event, Grant Cardone’s event. If you guys were there you saw at the event, I did a presentation and made 90 million, excuse me, not 90 million, that’d be cool, 3 million dollars in 90 minutes, setting all sorts of records and it was really, really cool. Then the next day I got up onstage and we did a bonus where if anyone signed up before I left, basically we were going to let them, I was going to do a workshop where I walked them through exactly what I did and how I did it and all that kind of stuff. So that workshop I actually did on Friday, which was really cool. I thought it was going to be about 3 hours long, I ended up going for 6 ½ hours. I don’t know, I just get excited and I can’t stop talking and sharing and it’s just a lot of fun. Hopefully you guys are okay if I over deliver. But it was cool. And then obviously, immediately afterwards I’m all excited to go and try to turn this into an offer and to sell it, and I bought 10xsecrets.com, and I’m like, “I’m going to put this in the offer, and this and this, and the training….” And my whole brain is going crazy with this whole process. And then part of me is like, why am I doing this? Why am I creating another offer, a new front end, another product? Maybe it’s because I have a problem, I got a funnel addiction, maybe a little of all those things, I don’t know. But what was interesting, I actually this weekend thought a lot about that. It’s fun, I love reading the Facebook comments of people in our groups and especially just hearing people’s success stories and stuff. And there’s this really interesting pattern this weekend for me, as I was just scrolling through stuff. So many people told me, “Oh for me Russell, it was when I read the Dotcom Secrets book, that’s when it clicked.” Or “Oh for me it was when I was at this event and you said this, and that’s when everything clicked.” And “For me it was when…” people are sharing what it was for them that made it all click for them, and when it clicked the business took off. And it made me start thinking, what were the pivotal parts in my journey where something clicked and it was like, transitional shift and shift and shift and shift. Twice this week I did trainings for the Two Comma Club X coaching program, where I shared something that had been shared other places, just had been shared differently and had different stories around it and stuff like that. And the same thing, people were like, “Oh that time it clicked. Now I understand where I’m going.” So you never know when, like when you’re sharing message which one’s going to click with which people. That’s why I keep telling my stories and my things over and over and over and over again, because you never know when it’s going to click for that person who’s there. Sometimes it’s repetitive for some people and sometimes it’s like the thing that makes it click. And I started thinking about this, I’m so excited to create this offer and then I was bummed about it because I was like, why am I doing this? The last thing in the world I really need right now is more money. I’m like, what is the reason? Why am I so excited about doing this? And then it kind of hit me, I think the reason why is that I know that, that training was the newest one I’d done. It was 6 ½ hours, I put my heart and soul into it because I wanted to over deliver. It was really cool actually. I actually went through and I taught the foundation of offer creating, because that’s the key to the webinar. Then I taught the Perfect Webinar, and then I went through the actual presentation from 10x and then I pushed play and watched and paused, “This is why I did that.” Push play, pause, “This is why I did this.” Just kind of went through the whole thing. It was interesting, I even found out a couple of new nuances to the Perfect Webinar that I didn’t ever realize until I was like pausing myself and I was like, “oh wow, I did that thing. I didn’t even realize that.” So I was sharing those things, talked about the price marinade, a whole bunch of cool things I’ve never really talked about before. But I was thinking about this, between our email lists and everything, there’s over a million entrepreneurs that follow me, right. And when I put something out, my job as a marketer is like, re-engage them, and then re-commit them, and hopefully this time give them that aha. So I re-engage them by making a new hook. I talked in the last podcast about hook, story, offer. So I need a new hook to get them re-engaged. Because if I just keep selling them the exact same thing, it’s going to be hard to keep them in. But if you look at this, think about this. I have perfectwebinarsecrets.com, which is like the script and the cd of me teaching the Perfect Webinar right. Expert Secrets is me teaching the Perfect Webinar in way more detail.  Secrets Master Class, which is part of Two Comma Club X, the old FHAT event was me teaching the Perfect Webinar. This was me teaching the Perfect webinar. It’s me teaching it, but it’s like the concepts, the contents not the same, but it’s similar. But it’s repackaged in different ways. Where it’s like, The Perfect Webinar, that was the thing, that was the hook that will get them. Expert Secrets, I talk about that way, that’s the hook that will get somebody. 10x Secrets, we talk about how Russell made 3 million in 90 minutes, that hook will get a lot of people. It’s sexy, it’s interesting, it’s unique. The hook will grab a different segment, or re-engage people. Then, I honestly wish I could, that six hour thing, I wish I could stream it to everybody for free. The problem is I know that if people get it for free, they won’t do anything with it. So that’s why we make an offer, that’s why we make a funnel. Because then I’m hooking them first, then I’m charging them, and the physical act of them pulling out a credit card recommits to themselves that they’re going to go down this path again. So I hook them, recommit them, and then hopefully this time I give them the aha, the thing, that’s the one that…how many times have you gone and studied somebody’s stuff two or three or four times? Like you go to church every Sunday for 20 years of your life and all the sudden that Sunday, that person, whatever it was, you were ready right then. So for me I feel like that, that’s really part of this business. The money, and if you guys aren’t to this point yet, I’m just going to break it to you, the money is not that exciting, moving forward. There comes a point where your house is paid off, everything is taken care of, it’s just not exciting, the money part. But the impact fires you up. So it’s like, I’m hooking them. I have a million plus entrepreneurs, plus everyone else on Facebook, plus the entire world, throwing these offers out trying to hook them and get them to make a commitment. They commit themselves by actually paying for something, and my goal is for this time to give them the aha, the thing where they’re like, “Ah, this is the one.” And I know that 10x Secrets is going to do that for some people and I’m excited. The only reason why we charge and do funnels is because we can get to more people. We can pay for advertizing and that hook gets out to more people, which hopefully grabs people, gets them in, get’s them to commit to themselves and hopefully that will be the one that gets them. It re-engages people, re-ignites people. People who have been on and off, on and off, on and off, hopefully this will be the one for them. Anyway, that’s why. It was kind of cool. It gave me comfort, oh it’s okay for me to do this. I’m doing it for that reason. I want more people to be like, “10x Secrets, that was the one that gave me the clarity that I needed and the permission to do my thing.” Or maybe it’s Ignite Your Funnels, that’s coming out later this year. Or maybe it’s the next thing. That’s why I keep doing it. In case you’re wondering. Why I keep putting out offers, because I’m trying to hook people, get them to recommit to themselves and hopefully have that one be the one that gives them the aha that makes them move. So I’m curious for you guys, when was it? Which was the thing, the product, the idea, the thing that gave you the aha where you’re like, “That was the thing.” Or have you had it yet, are you still looking for that? Was it a video, a YouTube video, a podcast, a product you bought? There’s a reason why I’m preaching like crazy around the clock to you guys, it’s because I’m hoping and waiting and wishing that each of you guys will get that aha from one of these things. Give you the thing you need to like, “that was the piece. That was the piece I was missing.” So if you wonder why I publish so much, that’s why. I love it, and the feedback. I literally just scroll through the Facebook feed and I’m just liking everything, it just makes me so happy to see all the positive stuff. Anyway, appreciate you all thanks so much. On today’s episode Russell talks about a lesson he learned long ago from Dan Gable about knowing you’re going to win, and how he applies it to his life today. I hope you enjoy being here. I try to make a fun, exciting, cool podcast that I would actually want to listen to. So hopefully you guys are enjoying this. With that said, let’s jump into the theme song, and I got something really fun to talk to you about today. Alright, so my lesson for you guys today stems off of going and watching my daughter play soccer this weekend. My daughter, Ellie, she is into soccer and she loves it, and up to this point she’s always been on the, I don’t know what they call it, not the league teams, but like the local Boise league. So it’s like, not a super hard league. So for the last couple of years, the team played together and got better and better to the point now they just thrash everybody. So this year they decided, “Hey, we should go up and go to a bigger division.” So Clickfunnels sponsored them, well I say Clickfunnels, it was really me. I don’t feel good taking money out of Clickfunnels to sponsor, but we sponsored them. And now they got these cool jerseys that have a Clickfunnels logo on the back, which is kind of cool. And they’re playing in this new league and they had their very first game this Saturday. And they’ve been working really, really hard, they got a really good coach, they got good people around them, they’re practicing hard and the girls are doing just awesome. And they’re trying to figure out, this next level, where am I at? Am I going to be good? Am I going to be bad? What’s going to happen? There’s all that fear of the new thing, right. And before we left, I remember Ellie saying, “Well this team’s way better than us, we’re going to get killed.” And she was telling me that as we were driving to go to the soccer game. I’m like, “You can’t say that. You can’t go into a game thinking you’re going to lose, or you’re going to lose. That’s just how it works. You can’t do that.” And I remember watching as they got out on Saturday and started playing, they did really good at first. It was a tied game for a long, long time. Then the other team scored once and then it was like, boom, boom, boom, scored a bunch of times in a row. They fought well, but they ended up losing in the end. But as I was watching them, it reminded me of this video I used to watch, this movie back in my wrestling days. It was a VHS tape that I bought that was talking about arguably one of the greatest wrestlers, and definitely the greatest wrestling coach that’s come out of America, and his name’s Dan Gable. Dan Gable, if you look, he’s like, I talked about him before on this podcast, he’s like the Michael Jordan of wrestling. His name’s synonymous with wrestling. When you hear, “Who’s the greatest wrestler of all time?” people say Dan Gable. So Dan’s amazing and as good of a wrestler as he was, he then went on and started coaching the Iowa, Hawkeyes and they won like, I don’t know, 20 championships in a row afterwards. And he’s one of the most winning-est coaches of all time, of any sport. As good as an athlete as he was, he was an even better coach. So this video we used to watch, it was him coaching his athletes and told Gable’s story and talked about his only lost he ever had. He only lost once in high school, excuse me, he lost once in college, his very senior year, his last match he lost, and he got so upset that he started training for the Olympics, and he worked out 7 hours a day and went to the Olympics. And the Russians specifically said, “We’re going to train an athlete just to beat Dan Gable.” And he went to the Olympics, and not only did they not beat him, but nobody even scored a point on him in the Olympics. And that’s why Dan’s like this legend in our sport. And so he tells that story in the beginning of the movie, so you get all excited. And then it shows him switching to coaching and then what he’d do with his athletes. And I still remember this quote, like Tom and Terry Branch are these twins, who Tom is now the head coach of the Iowa Hawkeyes now that Gable is retired. But I remember him saying in the video, “We used to do stuff that’d make a billy goat puke. That’s how tough Gable’s practices were.” And they showed the practices and talked about  everything. They talked about the mindset and the mentality and all the things that you have to have. But there’s this one quote that I remember I didn’t get when I was a teenager. I used to watch this all the time and Gable said, “I would never let an athlete step on the mat unless he knew he was going to win.” And I remember thinking that, “Well, what if he loses?” And I didn’t get it at the time. But I used to watch that, literally once a week, we’d watch that. Sometimes multiple times a week, because it’d get us all motivated and pumped up for wrestling and for our tournaments. So we’d always watch it ahead of time, me and my wrestling buddies. And every single time that line would come up, it would stick in my head, and I didn’t quite get it. He’d say, “I would never let an athlete step on the mat for me, unless he knew he was going to win.” And as I got through my later years of high school and started competing at a college level, I started understanding that. It was interesting because I, and I’m sure if anyone’s done sports before you probably had this before. But for example, one of my best friends, one of my favorite people, we would wrestle together at wrestling practice, and I had some weird mental thing where I just, in my head subconsciously I thought he was better than me. So every time he’d wrestle, he’d beat me. And not like a close match. He’d beat me like I was a little girl who’d never wrestled before. It was bad. And then me and him would go to a tournament together and we’re in the same weight class, and I would win the tournament and he’d take like 5th. Or we’d go to this tournament and he would lose to somebody by 5 points, and I’d wrestle that same person and I would tech fall him, which means I’d win by more than 15 points, so they stop the match early. And it was just like, for some reason, every time I’d step on the mat with this one guy, my friend, in my head I didn’t think I was going to win, so I’d lose. And it was so frustrating, and so, it just drove me crazy. I don’t get it. I beat all the people you lose to, but I can’t beat you. What’s going on? And that’s when I started hearing this message in my head from back when I was watching this Gable video. “I’ve never let a wrestler step on the mat unless he knew he was going to win, before he stepped out onto the mat.” And I started thinking about that with my daughter. She stepped out on the field and she did not know she was going to win, in fact, she thought you know, we’re probably going to lose. So they went out there and they lost. And I thought of that, how many times in life that message applies. And obviously for the context of this podcast, it has to do with your business. How many times do we get into business where we’re like, “I hope I’m going to succeed. I hope this is going to work. I hope, I hope, I hope.” That’s the equivalent of me stepping out on the mat and saying, “I hope I can beat this guy.” Which means I don’t know if I’m going to win or not, but I hope I can. Right, that’s the mentality that you’re stepping on the mat. And if you do that most of the time, at least the majority of the time you’re going to lose, because you’re hoping you’re going to win. Dan Gable said this, “I don’t let any athlete step out on the mat unless they know they’re going to win.” They may not win, but they must step on the mat knowing they’re going to win. When I step into a business I don’t say, “I hope I’m going to be successful.” I step in knowing I’m going to be successful, knowing I’m going to win. Knowing that no matter what happens, no matter what the trials, the problems, the ups, the downs, the sleepless nights, things like, I’m know I’m going to win. Because if you go into it hoping you’re going to win, when those things pop up, the trials, you’ll be like “I knew I was going, I hoped I was going to be successful, but I kind of knew it wasn’t, in the back of my mind I knew it wasn’t going to be successful.” You let yourself off the hook if you’re hoping it’s going to be successful. You can’t go into something having hope, and thinking I hope I’m going to win. Especially going in thinking, I may lose. You’ve got to go in believing a hundred million percent that, “I’m going to be successful, I’m going to win. I’m stepping on this mat and I’m going to beat that person. I know I can beat them.” Otherwise Dan Gable wouldn’t even let you get on the mat. He would look at you and be like, ‘Nope. You have doubt in your mind, I can see it. Therefore I’m not going to let you compete for me. I’d rather lose this match, have a forfeit than let you step on the mat not knowing that you’re going to win.” And that’s the kind of mindset that he demanded out of his athletes, and that’s why they won the 20-whatever NCAA championships in a row. Because he’d never let an athlete step on the mat unless they knew they were going to win. So for you, as your coach in this marketing sphere, in this business realm, I want to make sure that you guys go in with the same thing. Don’t step into a business unless you know you’re going to be successful. If you don’t know you’re going to be successful, it means you’ve got to step back and spend some time on yourself, on personal development and understanding yourself and your own skillset and believing in yourself enough that you can go out there and have success, otherwise it’s difficult. If I didn’t know I was going to be successful every single day walking into the Clickfunnels office, if I was scared, if I had fear and anxiety and all those things. And I’m not saying those things aren’t there. There are times I’m definitely scared or nervous or excited or all those things, but I know that when I step out on the mat that I’m going to be successful. At 10x Growth Con, when I stepped on the mat, I knew I was going to be successful. And if you watched the first one, I did, I made 3.2 million in 90 minutes. The second one I failed. I fell flat on my face, but regardless, when I stepped on that stage I knew I was going to be successful. Same thing at Funnel Hacking Live, same thing when I speak at other places, same thing when I’m selling on a webinar, I don’t go into hoping it’s going to be successful, I go in knowing it’s going to be successful. And that’s the mindset you’ve got to have. So if you don’t have that mindset yet, it might be the thing that’s holding you back. You’re hoping you’re going to be successful, and because you’re hoping you’re willing and able to let yourself off the hook, and that’s why you’re not hitting the goals and the things you want. So that is my message for you guys today. For you to go out there and again, use this for business but use this as a metaphor for all aspects of your life. There’s the girl you want to ask out on a date, there’s the business venture, the partnership you want to do, there’s the relationship….whatever that thing is, you’ve got to step into that having absolute confidence, absolute certainty, knowing that when you step out on the mat you’re going to win. And if you do that your likelihood of winning will go up. It’s the weirdest thing. You know, me losing to my buddy over and over and over again because I had this seed of doubt in my mind that man, he always beats me, let alone the fact that I beat all the people he loses to, but because I had this belief that he was going to beat me, he beat me. And it was just that, it was a belief and it’s something you can shift, that you can change. And I wish I would have understood that at a deeper level back then, but I understand it now, and I want you guys to understand it now. Because it will make your jobs, your business, your growth, your relationships, whatever you’re looking for, so much better when you go into it with absolute certainty, knowing you’re going to win. Hey what's going on everybody? This is Coulton Woods and today I'm bringing to you a special episode of Learning from the Experts. I'm actually in my hotel room right now in Miami, just got done with 10x Growth Con, the event from Grant Cardone. And I want to split it up into a few different episodes here, but I'm going to talk to you about something that I learned from Bethenny Frankel. She is one of the sharks on Shark Tank. It's interesting. I've always had a hard time listening to her and kind of relating to her on Shark Tank. So when I found out she was a speaker I was kind of like okay, I don't know if I really want to hear that one or not, but I did. And I actually learned something really cool from it. So here's the deal, I know how frustrating it is as an entrepreneur to waste countless hours sitting through wannabe experts who never actually help me in the end. Then to learn years later that there was an expert who really could help me a hundred times faster than learning on my own. I have created this podcast to save you time and money while taking you on a journey with me as I learn from and interview real experts who can actually help you grow your business. My name is Coulton Woods and you're listening to Learning from the Experts. So I'm going to be 100% honest with you, whenever I see Bethenny Frankel on Shark Tank I always kind of like wonder if I want to actually watch that episode. And I mean it's nothing against her but I feel like she kind of always has to like prove something or prove that she's the smartest person in the room for some reason. She's always got an opinion. She's always pushing her idea on it or she's trying to give advice. And then she's like fighting with the other sharks and I'm kind of just like, I don't know to me I'm like just chill. Like it's okay. So when I found out that she was speaking I was like oh that's cool. She's from Shark Tank. She's going to be on there. That's cool, but I don't know if I really care to even watch it because I've seen her on Shark Tank and I have a hard time watching her there. So what's going to be any different. Well I'm there anyways so I'm like okay well I'll just pay attention. And I had this thought. I like to ask myself questions. I like to kind of just ask questions in general, but ask questions that most people don't think about asking. So I try to do that. I'm not the best. I mean I'm sure none of us are the best or perfect at that, but I had this question or this thought, what if I just ask the question while listening to her, what can I learn from her. I mean that's going to be hard. If I'm in there, not that it's going to be hard, but if I'm looking at her and I'm saying I can't. There's no way I'll ever learn anything from her. I don't think she has anything to give me that I can learn from her. Well, she's a billionaire so I mean I should probably pay attention to her. But in my first thought was I'm not going to learn anything from this woman because I've seen the way she is. But then the thought crossed my mind. I asked myself the question. What can I learn from her? So I paid attention. I didn't pay 100% attention, but I paid more attention than I was going to. And as she started talking I kind of think man I don't know how this woman ever accomplished what she accomplished. I don't know how she figured it out. Honestly, and I'm not trying to be super bad about all this or be harsh or anything, but I honestly don't know if she knows how she became successful. I don't know if she knows what she did in order to become successful. I don't know if she actually understands that. I mean that's kind of maybe rude, that's kind of a little blunt there, but honesty that's my thought. Is like I don't know if she understands this. So what did she do to become successful. What was it that helped her become successful? If she didn't quite understand it. And maybe she does totally. I don't know. That's just kind of the thought that I had. So I'm watching this and I'm thinking about this question that I have. And as she's talking I start realizing that she pretty much just runs like she just runs with something. She had the idea for Skinny Girl. I don't know if you know Skinny Girl, if you see the dressings in the grocery stores or not. Or I think she started with the margarita, right? Some calorie, low calorie margarita and that's how she got started. She introduced this great tasting margarita that's low calorie for Skinny Girl and that was her brand was Skinny Girl. So I'm like man, I don't know if she really knows how she did this. Well, she's telling her story and as I have this question in my head and I'm listening to her story, I realize that she literally just ran. She just got stuff done. She would just do things. It's really interesting. She didn't waste time. She had the idea. She wanted it to happen. She pitched it to people. They said no like that's a stupid idea. You're never going to go anywhere with it. She didn't agree with them. So she said, okay well I'm going to do it myself. I'm just going to run with this. I'm going to make it happen. And pretty soon she's got people investing that probably wouldn't have invested in the first place. And now those people that she first contacted see that she's putting skin in the game. She's investing her own money, her own time. She's getting people to come in with her. They see that she's doing this and they're like okay, I guess we'll invest. You're running. You're making this happen. We will invest because we see what you can do. And that teaches me before I get to that, she told a story about a relief effort that she put together for I think it was Puerto Rico somewhere. So I don't even remember exactly if it was a tsunami or hurricane anymore. I'm sorry. That's probably really bad. But I don't watch the news so I don't really keep up with anything that's going on outside of where I'm at really. Honestly, I know how marketing works and I know how the news is and they are businesses and that's what they want to do is make money off you so they are really good at making things seem more dramatic than they actually are. So side note, total side note but she wanted to help Puerto Rico in the relief effort. So she literally found people with a jet that she's like you know what I need to find a jet or a plane or something. I need to figure this out and get anybody I know that has a jet on board. And she's like calling all these people and they're like you're crazy. We're not going to give you a jet to fly down to Puerto Rico for whatever and pretty soon as she's putting all of this out on social media, on Twitter, and different places. People are reaching back out to her saying hey I own a small clinic or I own this place. I can give you these kind of things that would help everybody there. I'll just give it to you. You can fly it there and she's like, "I had no idea how to put on a relief effort”. I had no idea how to do any of this. I just started doing it. I just started asking people and getting people's feedback. And pretty soon we've got like five six jets flying down to Puerto Rico with all of these materials and all of this stuff to help with the relief effort down there. And we were helping out a ton of people. And people were literally coming up to her saying we were praying that somebody would have a jet so we could get this stuff over to them. And when she got there they needed like planes to fly stuff and people out of there. So that honestly guys that teaches me a huge lesson. So many people over complicate things. So many people think they have to accomplish so many things before they do anything. Guys, just start. Just go, just do something. If you've got an idea, start doing stuff with it. Start figuring out people that maybe want to help you out with it. Do some stuff. If you need to be growing a following or want to be putting your name out there, you just start podcasting, start publishing, start doing videos. Honestly, putting videos on YouTube is such a huge thing now. You can get so much content out there and it's like a searchable video place where people search things and your videos can pop up and people watch you. Then they like what they see and they follow you. It's so, just start doing stuff, guys. She has made millions. I think she's a billionaire. Like billions just by doing something. Just go out and do it. She doesn't let anything hold her back. She just starts. So just start. That's really like all I have for you today from that one talk. I was not expecting to get anything from her. And then I asked the question what can I learn from Bethenny Frankel. So I decided to actually listen and figure out what I can learn and that was a huge lesson. I'm glad I listened to it. I'm glad I was there. I'm glad I asked that question instead of just shrugging it off and not paying attention. So guys, just start. Do something. Like just get going. I played around with the idea of doing a podcast for a while. And I'm not going to lie. I pushed it back and then pretty soon I'm like I'm just going to put it out there. I don't even care if I'm not 100% ready. I'm just going to start doing it. And I did. And it's out now. And I'm excited.  This is episode 15. I've got hundreds of episodes to come. I'm going to keep doing this because first off well, I'm not even going to go there but guys just start. That's my lesson for you today. So listen here to see all that went wrong and right at the second day of 10x Growth Con. ---Transcript--- Hey everyone, this is Russell Brunson. Welcome back to the Marketing Secrets podcast. Yesterday I gave you guys behind the scenes of day number one of the 10x Growth Con, convention, event, what happened, how I did on sales, and hopefully you enjoyed kind of hearing behind the scenes of it. Now I’m going to take you guys to day number two because I had a chance to speak two days at this event. So I’m going to walk you guys behind the scenes of what happened there later on how my second presentation did, and share a bunch of other cool stuff with you as well. Alright, so I woke up day number two and once again I was nervous. So I woke up, got on my slides and start working on my slides and getting them fixed for this new presentation that I’ve never done before. I’m stressing out thinking, how in the world am I going to do this presentation? There’s an echo, nobody can hear me. And I did my best and got everything ready and then I headed over to the venue. When I got to the venue I saw Dave Woodward and Dave had been helping a ton. Dave is just amazing, an amazing human, one of the hardest workers you will ever meet and just someone who’s amazing at getting stuff done. So Grant and his team was pulling on Dave like, “What should we do? How do we fix this?” So they went and got pipe and drape and wrapped the whole upper concourse of the event, hoping to block sound. They opened up the top of the dome, because after Grant parachuted in they closed it, and it was super humid and hot inside. In fact, I was on stage just pouring sweat off my face because it was so humid. We had captured all the humidity. So they broke it back open, just like 10% open, just so some of the echo could get out. The changed the microphones, they removed some microphones, did a bunch of things to try to clean up the sound, and it was better. Still was not amazing, but it was better. So I got there and one of the things they said, “Russell, you can’t speak as fast as you do. When you speak this fast, everything bounces off the walls. If you’re going to do this presentation you have speak in sound bites. You say something it hits the wall and comes back, you say the next thing, it hits something and comes back. Everything’s got to be spoken in sound bites.” I was like, “Oh crap, I have a big, like a 200 slide presentation. I can’t do that in 90 minutes with that.” So I went in and deleted probably 50 slides to, in fact, some of my favorite parts. Someday I’m going to do this presentation and I want you guys to see it, because I literally do the presentation and in the presentation I show you what I did to do the presentation. It’s so cool. But I had to delete all that because it just wasn’t going to, I couldn’t get it all fitted in there, so I deleted a bunch of stuff. And then one of the big ideas I had for this presentation, I was going to bring other speakers onstage, people who have gone through our training, and let them go on stage and just tell their stories, which I was really excited for. So my second presentation was called 10x Secrets Mastery, and then it was how they could learn how to speak from stage. And I was really excited for this because at the last 10x I had 3.2 million, this one we had just done 2 million the day before. I was going to show them, “Look, how to make a million dollars, or 2 million. How to sell to the masses.” Like most of the people in the room were salesmen, I’m like, “Selling one on one is one thing, but selling one on many is a completely different skill set you have to learn and master, and I want to show you guys how to do this.” So we did when we created this presentation. So what happened, this is really cool. I think all of us were kind of feeling a little bummed out and sad from the day before because we hadn’t hit our goals. So we kind of licked our wounds and all the people who we were going to bring onstage, I had them meet me in the greenroom to kind of go over the presentation so I could show them what was going to happen and we could talk about it. So I brought them in and I showed them my presentation. Now a couple of the highlights of the presentation, I found footage of the very first time I ever spoke onstage, and it was so bad. So I showed them those clips. And I started walking through the presentation, and in the presentation I take two big jabs at Gary Vaynerchuk, which was really fun because Gary called me out on a podcast recently, so I thought, as long as I have the mic and I’m standing in front of 35,000 people, I should definitely make fun of Gary Vaynerchuk, so I did and it was amazing. It was cool because I talked about, there is two ways to become a speaker. Number one is to become famous and get paid to speak. I show how people like Tony Robbins, Schwartzenegger, Oprah, Bill Clinton, Ellen, Richard Branson, Cuban how much they charge for a keynote, which is like $200,000-ish or something. I was like, if you add all those up it’s 1.4 million to get all those guys to be your public speakers. But I was like, at 10x last year I sold 3.2 million, my take home was 1.6 million. So I was like, you can either become famous and make 200,000 grand, or learn how to sell from stage and make way more. And then I showed this picture of me and Gary Vaynerchuk sitting there and I said, “Look, there’s too paths and Gary chose a different one than me. Gary wants to become famous. Gary charges $105,000 for a speech.” And then I showed a slide where I was like, I made 3.2 million dollars in 90 minutes and then I went home to be with my kids and my family. And then I said, “Do you know how many keynotes Gary would have to give to be able to make what I did in 90 minutes. He’d have to give 22. That’s one a week, that’s 22 weeks.” And then I said, I showed a picture of him looking super tired. I said, “You could go and you could hustle and be tired if you want to become famous. Or you could just learn how to sell and make the same amount in one presentation.” And that was jab number one. And I made another jab later on, but it was fun. So for those who love Gary, sorry. But he talked trash about me, so I got my, I got the last word, which was amazing. People were laughing super hard, which was great. Anyway, then I went down and I showed them where they’re going to come in. So some of the people that were coming in to do parts of the presentation, the first one was Garrett J. White, he came in and he was going to talk about his results taking this framework. Then we had Brad Give and his partner Ryan Lee, who they’ve done, they basically used to sell financial services across a kitchen table, and then they took this methodology of selling to the masses and had a webinar pitch and they had 1200 people on a webinar last week, and now they actually just passed Two Comma Club X. They made over 10 million dollars on one of their funnels, which was amazing. Then I had Jaime Cross, who is using the same presentation to sell soap and her oils and things like that. And I had Stacy and Paul Martinos, Stacy came up and talked about how they’re using this to save marriages. Then I had, let’s see, who are the other people? I’m scrolling through here to make sure I don’t forget anybody. Then we had Natalie Hodson came up, she talked about going to the FHAT event and her experience. How she went to the FHAT event and four months later made over a million dollars selling her $37 ebook, which is amazing. Then I had Annie Grace talking about how she used this to help people quit drinking, and then she used it to make a bunch of money at her event. And then I had Myron Golden who was going to come up and do his magic, because he is one of the most amazing humans I have ever had a chance to meet in this world. And Myron, we were going to bring up and have him tell some of his stories and do what Myron does best, which is get the audience to buy. So we were all excited, and you know, I was still kind of nervous because of how bad it had been the day before. And it was funny because I kind of walked them all through the presentation, show them what worked, everyone’s excited and they started asking, “What’s the goal? How many am I gonna sell?” And I was like, “If we can get 100 I’ll be happy.” And Myron’s like, “100? We could do a thousand.” And everyone’s kind of all over the place, and it was pretty cool. And as we’re recording this, it was funny because Dan Usher, who runs the Clickfunnels studio up in Toronto and he’s an amazing videographer, he wanted to capture this thing by having Garrett kind of come and pretend like he was the coach. And it was supposed to be this joke thing. So Garret, they mic’d him up and then he came over and started doing this jokey thing for probably a minute, and then he just like, “Screw it.” I don’t think he said screw it. You know Garrett, he swears instead of that. But then he just like switched over into this, I feel like he was a coach in a locker room like coaching all of us through the callings we had, and how this was a platform we had to share these callings. And it was 5 or 6 minutes long, and by the time it was done I looked around at all the speakers and they were all crying. I feel bad because Annie was back there and her makeup was all smeared. And I looked at Garrett and as he’s telling this to me, directly to me, he’s got tears streaming down his face, and I’m sitting there and I start crying. And all of us are sitting here in this room, just bawling our eyes out, crying as Garrett’s talking about our missions and how they all tie together. Anyway, what’s cool is because we had put on the mic for this thing that we were trying to capture, we captured this whole amazing speech that was not planned, and brought me and so many people on my team to tears. So I actually wanted to share it with you. I got the recording of it, and I wanted to plug it in right here so you can hear what Garrett said, because I think it meant a lot to me and it meant a lot to those who are here. And hopefully it gives you guys kind of a glimpse of your business and my role in your businesses. You know when I was, over the last couple of years I’ve had times where I’m like, what am I doing this for? What’s the purpose, I help people grow businesses, why does that matter in the whole grand scheme of things? And it’s interesting because one of my mentors and friends, her name is Tara Williams, Tara told me, she said, “If you look at your mission, I really think it’s a couple fold. One is there’s people that have so much financial strain that they can’t do anything else, trying to figure out how to get out of financial strain and then you come in and give people the tools they need to free themselves from the captivity of debt or money, and when they free themselves of that, then they can look outward and start serving and helping other people.” And when she said that, I was like, “Oh my gosh, maybe that is my thing.” Because who cares if you guys make a million bucks, or ten million bucks. It doesn’t matter. What matters is if I can get the stress and the pressure of you having to make money off your back, then you can start looking outward and start serving other people. That’s why in our community I look at all these people. All the people who were on stage were all people who were, who had a vision, they had a message and they couldn’t get it out, so they came, somehow they bumped into us and what we’re doing and we were able to help facilitate and get them into a spot where they could take the pressures of money off their backs so they could focus on serving other people. And everyone who was speaking there had now served thousands and tens of thousands of people. Stacy and Paul Martino had saved over 10 thousand marriages. Annie Grace has helped thousands of people beat the chains of alcohol addiction, and on and on and on. So I think that’s why I was so emotional for it. So I’m going to actually plug in that clip right here so you can hear the speech that Garrett gave in the locker room. Garrett: Do you know why I’m here? I’m here because I believe in you, truly. I was already gone for 6 days. This is the longest I’ve been gone from my family in 5 years. I’m here because of you. You’re called to do what you do. I was not called to do what you do. Without you I can’t do what I was called to do. I’m not here for promotion, that’s great, it’ll be great for me, I’m here because I’m in your military force. I’m on your team, I’m in your unit, you’re the general. I run a unit, my men listen to what I say, in the way I’m called. I follow you because you’re called, like we stay here, I listen to your stories. Every single one of us have the same thing, I know the back story, I know what the story is. Yeah, the example is sell soap, but at the end of the day you’re sending a message to women. This shit is serious for me. When I shared with you earlier, the piece that they’re not getting today, and they haven’t gotten so far. They haven’t gotten the reason why I follow you. It’s this thing there. This thing that’s bigger than you and it’s bigger than me. Dude, I love you I respect the f*** out of you. Today I’ll go to war with you, but for something that you have seen long before I could see it. It’s not flowery speech for me to talk about how Clickfunnels did something for me, hey, what can I get from this? Without Clickfunnels, there is no movement of warrior. Without the frames, there is no conversion for men to learn to live and marriages and family f***ing die, in my world. People follow you because of who you are and what comes through you. The software is the weapon, the frame is the game, but you’re the reason. And I love the reluctant hero, I do. I love it. But there’s a piece in you too that’s ready to click. This is the piece that you got f***ing an army, just waiting for that little click of fire and it’s game f***ing over. There’s no one that will stand on this stage, that can harness the power, including me, that you have access to right now, because you built an army and you weaponized them. And you believe in God, and I believe in God. And I know that all of us here are doing something bigger than we actually understand. So out there was a circus yesterday, and it happened on purpose, and it set up what’s about to f***ing happen. From the beginning when you walk on to the beginning of when Martin and you finish it up, every single one of us has an important role to play, which is get into the state that’s required, so that when you start speaking the thing that comes through him comes through you. So that this is seen not as a Russell show, or a Garret show, or any of us, it is not even a CLickfunnels show. It is a movement of people who have been called to lead movements all centralized on one thing, which is waking people up. I see you, man. I’ve seen you for a long time and I know you see me, because in that we see the same thing. And when I get to spend time with you guys that I haven’t got to spend time with, I see the same thing in you guys. So all the frames to the side, the frames everybody knows, 35000 people doesn’t matter, that means that on the other side of a game we cannot see, there are numbers we cannot contemplate, that are currently standing and waiting for you simply to get out of the way and speak. And they’re sitting in the ears of everyone in their seats whispering, “This is the time.” So I’m here because I follow you. My wife’s life has changed because of you. It sounds funny that she was reading her book, but you were the only one that could have got into her. So I’m honored to be here, honored to support you and your calling. And I’m honored to meet all of you, and be here with you. And some of you I know better than others. And this was supposed to be a locker room speech of a different kind and be funny, and the truth is I don’t really know how to f***ing do that on queue. So anything funny I ever say, it’s not on purpose, it just f***ing happens. But this right here, this is why I’m here. And I needed what you had to be able to take this that I feel and take it to literally hundreds of thousands and soon millions. Thank you. Russell: Alright, and I don’t know about you, but again, in the room it had all of us crying. And I’m just so grateful for Garrett because it gave us, it kind of regrouped us and gave us the motivation like, “Okay, let’s get out there, we’re going to change all these people’s lives.” So we got done and then I had to hand the slides off to Jake on my team and Jake ran it to the audio and video guy, and I was like, “Okay, I can’t touch the slides again, here we go.” And so that’s what happened. Alright, so now fast forward 3 or 4 hours later. I was supposed to be the last speaker before the end of the day. And at the very, very end of the day they had some DJ or some Dougie Fresh, or I don’t know, something like that. He’s supposed to be doing some rap thing after me, but everything ran late. So everything was like an hour and a half beyond what we’re supposed to be. But they’re like, “The last thing is like this rapper, so just do your thing. This is how we’re making the big money.” And if you think about this, again from a choreographing of the event, this could have and should have been where this event made its money. It should have been the big payday, and everything should have been coordinated to that. But unfortunately, things happen. So I got back prepared to do my thing and a couple of things happened. Number one, right before I got onstage, and this makes no logical sense and it’s like the backwards choreography, but Grant was onstage and he told everyone, “Hey everyone, we’re going to do 2 for 1 t-shirts right now, but you gotta get them in the next hour, otherwise when they’re gone, they’re gone.” And literally 30% of the entire audience stands up and runs out, right when he’s announcing me. Runs out to go buy t-shirts. Like a $10 offer. It was like, you’re blocking a $25000 offer with a $10 offer. Everyone’s running out of the stadium to go buy t-shirts. Number two is every speaker has been announced from behind the stage, where the thing lifts up and you walk out and it’s this big thing. So I’m back behind stage, about to be announced that way, and then Grant messages his guy and says, “I don’t want Russell to be brought out from underneath the screen again, have him come out from the side of the curtain.” I was like, dude, you’re supposed to be positioning me to be doing the big sale, and then you diminish my positioning by having me come out from the side instead of under the…it’s just insane that he would do that. Anyway, whatever. So I lost the positioning, which hurts when you’re doing a $25,000 offer, then a fourth or a third of the audience was running out of the stadium to go buy $10 t-shirts, and then I was announced and came out. So that was interesting choreography. So I get out there and I start speaking and then an alarm goes off. Literally, there’s an alarm. Somebody set the alarm, and for the first 10 minutes of my speech there was an alarm blaring through the hallways of this whole thing, which is crazy. And then one section of the stadium, they decided to start doing the wave. So everyone’s up there doing the wave, and I hear them yelling and shouting, and I hear the alarm going off, and I’m up there like, “What in the world is happening. This is chaos, I don’t even know what to do. It’s crazy.” But I step onstage and start my presentation, and I start it slow. I say a line, boom deliver a line, wait for it to bounce back. Next line, deliver it, wait for it bounce back, deliver it…and I could feel it, there was something about this presentation that was different, it was magical, it was so good. So we’re delivering the thing and I bring my guests onstage and I have Garrett White come and do this thing and I have each person come and share their part, and it was just beautifully orchestrated. Everyone’s success stories and testimonials just weaved in perfectly, and it was like the perfect thing. Myron comes onstage, does his close, doing his thing and it’s just, it was magical. In fact, Myron leaned over to me at one point and he said, while one of the, I think it was Natalie, or Annie was giving their testimonial and he was just looking at the audience, and I looked and everyone was so engaged. And he’s like, “The worst case scenario you get a thousand people.” And I was like, “Oh my gosh. That’s 25 million dollars.” I’m freaking out. So we go through this thing and we finish the thing and then we’re going through the stack and the closing and we had one more close left and Grant’s team I guess was like, “The Dj’s supposed to be up right now.” And he goes to Dave and he’s like, “You have to get Russell off stage.” So Dave comes over and gives me this look like, you have to end this now. And I’m like, ugh. We had one more, the most important close of the entire thing we have left, it was Myron’s, the best one. And I have to go to Myron and I’m like, “We have to cut this off, we have to stop.” So we didn’t get to do the last close, which is like the most important close of the entire freaking thing, so we missed that one. I do the last call to action and I drive to everyone and said, “Okay, everyone on the floor, the people that paid like $10,000 to be here, there’s a sales table right here on the floor, go over here. It’s $25,000. There’s a sales table over here.” And when we got to the table people started jumping up and running. And upstairs told everyone to start running. And it was so perfectly executed. It ends, pull off stage, and I’m feeling on top of the world. I’m like, “Oh my gosh, the presentation was perfect. The delivery was perfect. People are running to the sides. Everything was amazing.” I go back to the green room, I’m kind of hanging out and relaxing. Oh and then, all the people who were onstage, they were over at the sales tables to go close sales, and I told them, “Look, all the people we met onstage today are over at the table, come over and talk to them, they’re going to tell you their stories. If you have any questions, how this will work for you.” So anyway, that’s what happens, people go to the things, I go back to the green room and kind of relax, waiting for the numbers, waiting for the numbers. And probably ten minutes later Garrett White comes in and he’s like, “Dude, you got screwed.” I’m like, “What do you mean?” He’s like, “They blocked off the sales tables. I was by the sales table and there’s all these people trying to get to me, and they completely blocked it off and they wouldn’t let us come back. I was trying to close sales and I couldn’t talk to a single person.” I’m like, “What?” Then the others came in and they’re like, “Yeah, we got kicked out.” And then Dave comes in later and he’s like, “The Fire Marshall closed off one of the sales tables because there were too many people supposedly on the floor. So the Fire Marshall closed off one, all the people running to the table, the Fire Marshall blocked them. And then the DJ, who was preparing for the thing, his team blocked off the other sales table.” So both sales tables on the floor, with all the 3000 people that paid $10 grand a piece to sit down there, the best buyers in the room, the two sales tables where people were supposed to get money completely blocked. They blocked the two sales tables. There’s no way for people to give the money. It was insane. So I’m like, “What in the world?” and then finally when everything kind of ends and we’re about to leave, Dave comes in and I’m like, “How did we do? How did we do?” I’m thinking like, if we bombed we would have done 100. Based on the presentation and the feeling of the audience, the people running and everything, I’m like, worst case scenario we did a hundred, which is 2.5 million, which is now will be at almost 5. I’m like, I guess we’re halfway to what our goal was. Dave comes up to me and he’s just pissed. So mad. He’s like, “I don’t even want to tell you, but I’ll tell you.” And I’m like, “What?” He’s like, “14” I’m like, “14?” He’s like, “Yep, they blocked both sales tables. We only got 14 people who randomly found us in other spots.” I’m like, “Are you kidding me. There’s no way.” And he’s like, “Yep, and now they’re kicking us out because there’s a rapper that’s going to rap, who will make them zero dollars at this event.” And it’s just like, oh my gosh. So that’s kind of how that one ended, which is just like, ahh, so frustrated. I feel like we executed everything on our side perfectly. So that night we took our team, all 40 of them who were killing themselves, we rented a yacht, and we went on this three hour yacht thing at night, had dinner with them, let them all dance and have fun and it was a good time. And then the next morning we woke up and all of our team went back and started closing deals. Our team closed another, they got 13 more people that they found in the hallways to sign up. So they ended up with, what’s that? 27 or so. I think we had 675 thousand dollars in sales from the 10x. So when all was said in done from the event, I think it was 2.7 million we ended, which again, is not bad. It’s great. But it’s just tough when you’re expecting 10 to make about 3. Anyway, so that was kind of how it all went. That next, that day we just kind of wrapped up the rest of the vacation because it was crazy. All of our affiliates from the 10x launch as well as the people who spoke onstage, we put them on, we were on these two yachts and we sent them to the Bahamas. So they went out that morning on this Mastermind Yacht and started masterminding while they were on the yacht. And then my wife and I had to go shopping for Funnel Hacking Live clothes, so we shopped til we dropped. And then we jumped in a private, in a sea plane, a private plane is a sea plane though. So it’s sitting in the water and it takes off from the water, and flies you over to the Bahamas. And we land in the Bahamas and we hung out all night that night masterminding with all those people, which was really cool, just amazing. So we masterminded with everybody, which is awesome. The next morning we woke up and jumped back on the yachts and went back to Miami. And that’s a whole other story in and of itself. We had, they smuggled somebody onto our yacht, who when we got close jumped off and swam off. They wouldn’t let us, a couple of us missed our flights because they wouldn’t let us off because of passport issues. It was just nuts. But somehow managed to be at the airport, my wife and I flew home and the whole trip ended. So that was the 10x experience. It was kind of funny as we were talking about it. Everything that could have gone wrong, literally went wrong on this trip. But at the same time we had such an amazing experience. Grant and his team, I love those guys, they work so hard. So many things are outside their control. The echoing, the different things. How do you get 35,000 people into a stadium? So many things like that, and they did an amazing job with the event. I think it was a smashing success for everybody. And while I was frustrated with some of the choreography of the event, that’s not their strong suit and it’s something that maybe next time we’ll work with them a little closer on. But anyone that can put 35,000 people in a room is amazing. I don’t even know how that’s possible, but somehow they did it. It was amazing. And the b-roll, the pictures. I’m sure you will see for the next year in every ad of mine you’ll see pictures and videos of all the amazingness, because we got to capture some cool stuff. So worst case scenario, we got the b-roll and it was a really great experience. So thankful for Grant and for Jared, for allowing us to come and partake in that and be part of it. And thank you for everyone who was there, even though a lot of you guys couldn’t hear me. I hope that you heard my message and the love that we have for all of you guys. We honestly want nothing more in this life than to change your lives. That’s why we’re here and why we’re doing this whole craziness, because I tell you what, I could have made 2.7 million dollars sitting at home not doing anything. But we wanted to come and have a chance to share our message, Clickfunnels with you and with everybody who was there. And also because it’s been interesting, you know this whole internet marketing thing that all of us are doing, is not mainstream yet. It’s funny because I feel like, when I got started doing this 15 years ago, it was like this weird thing and people thought that we were weird. And you know, one of the things I’ve been trying to do over the last 4 or 5 years is really make this a mainstream thing. Make funnels a mainstream thing. I want someday where people don’t talk about websites anymore, they talk about funnels. And I’m doing my best and I think this was such a huge platform for us to be able to share that with so many people. And I feel like for all you guys, whatever businesses you’re in, I’m trying to lead the way by making what I do mainstream and hopefully you guys will do the same thing with your businesses as well. So with that said, I’m going to wrap this up, my voice is almost gone. I’m going to get home, play with my kids. This is Russell Brunson, welcome to the Marketing Secrets podcast. I learned something really interesting about myself tonight and I wanted to share it with you guys. Hey everyone, I hope everything is going amazing for you guys. Today was Sunday, I had an awesome day at church with the kids and it was just really, really neat. Some of you guys know, if you’ve been listening, if you’ve been following, I don’t know. Everyone’s plugged in different spots, different places. But Thursday I did a really cool thing, I took the day of work off and I tried to read the entire Book of Mormon in a day, which was awesome. I podcasted about it over at bookofmormonchallenge.com, if you want to go listen to that podcast you can go and listen to it. And then Friday, I did a training. So the training was for everybody who had gone to the 10x Growth Con event, Grant Cardone’s event. If you guys were there you saw at the event, I did a presentation and made 90 million, excuse me, not 90 million, that’d be cool, 3 million dollars in 90 minutes, setting all sorts of records and it was really, really cool. Then the next day I got up onstage and we did a bonus where if anyone signed up before I left, basically we were going to let them, I was going to do a workshop where I walked them through exactly what I did and how I did it and all that kind of stuff. So that workshop I actually did on Friday, which was really cool. I thought it was going to be about 3 hours long, I ended up going for 6 ½ hours. I don’t know, I just get excited and I can’t stop talking and sharing and it’s just a lot of fun. Hopefully you guys are okay if I over deliver. But it was cool. And then obviously, immediately afterwards I’m all excited to go and try to turn this into an offer and to sell it, and I bought 10xsecrets.com, and I’m like, “I’m going to put this in the offer, and this and this, and the training….” And my whole brain is going crazy with this whole process. And then part of me is like, why am I doing this? Why am I creating another offer, a new front end, another product? Maybe it’s because I have a problem, I got a funnel addiction, maybe a little of all those things, I don’t know. But what was interesting, I actually this weekend thought a lot about that. It’s fun, I love reading the Facebook comments of people in our groups and especially just hearing people’s success stories and stuff. And there’s this really interesting pattern this weekend for me, as I was just scrolling through stuff. So many people told me, “Oh for me Russell, it was when I read the Dotcom Secrets book, that’s when it clicked.” Or “Oh for me it was when I was at this event and you said this, and that’s when everything clicked.” And “For me it was when…” people are sharing what it was for them that made it all click for them, and when it clicked the business took off. And it made me start thinking, what were the pivotal parts in my journey where something clicked and it was like, transitional shift and shift and shift and shift. Twice this week I did trainings for the Two Comma Club X coaching program, where I shared something that had been shared other places, just had been shared differently and had different stories around it and stuff like that. And the same thing, people were like, “Oh that time it clicked. Now I understand where I’m going.” So you never know when, like when you’re sharing message which one’s going to click with which people. That’s why I keep telling my stories and my things over and over and over and over again, because you never know when it’s going to click for that person who’s there. Sometimes it’s repetitive for some people and sometimes it’s like the thing that makes it click. And I started thinking about this, I’m so excited to create this offer and then I was bummed about it because I was like, why am I doing this? The last thing in the world I really need right now is more money. I’m like, what is the reason? Why am I so excited about doing this? And then it kind of hit me, I think the reason why is that I know that, that training was the newest one I’d done. It was 6 ½ hours, I put my heart and soul into it because I wanted to over deliver. It was really cool actually. I actually went through and I taught the foundation of offer creating, because that’s the key to the webinar. Then I taught the Perfect Webinar, and then I went through the actual presentation from 10x and then I pushed play and watched and paused, “This is why I did that.” Push play, pause, “This is why I did this.” Just kind of went through the whole thing. It was interesting, I even found out a couple of new nuances to the Perfect Webinar that I didn’t ever realize until I was like pausing myself and I was like, “oh wow, I did that thing. I didn’t even realize that.” So I was sharing those things, talked about the price marinade, a whole bunch of cool things I’ve never really talked about before. But I was thinking about this, between our email lists and everything, there’s over a million entrepreneurs that follow me, right. And when I put something out, because not all million are still active, excited and engaged. If they were, I would have a million people using Clickfunnels right now, which we’re working towards that, but we don’t have it yet. I think we’re at 61,000, which is pretty awesome still. But I was like, those million plus people, my job as a marketer is like, re-engage them, and then re-commit them, and hopefully this time give them that aha. So I re-engage them by making a new hook. I talked in the last podcast about hook, story, offer. So I need a new hook to get them re-engaged. Because if I just keep selling them the exact same thing, it’s going to be hard to keep them in. But if you look at this, think about this. I have perfectwebinarsecrets.com, which is like the script and the cd of me teaching the Perfect Webinar right. Expert Secrets is me teaching the Perfect Webinar in way more detail.  Secrets Master Class, which is part of Two Comma Club X, the old FHAT event was me teaching the Perfect Webinar. This was me teaching the Perfect webinar. It’s me teaching it, but it’s like the concepts, the contents not the same, but it’s similar. But it’s repackaged in different ways. Where it’s like, The Perfect Webinar, that was the thing, that was the hook that will get them. Expert Secrets, I talk about that way, that’s the hook that will get somebody. 10x Secrets, we talk about how Russell made 3 million in 90 minutes, that hook will get a lot of people. It’s sexy, it’s interesting, it’s unique. The hook will grab a different segment, or re-engage people. Then, I honestly wish I could, that six hour thing, I wish I could stream it to everybody for free. The problem is I know that if people get it for free, they won’t do anything with it. So that’s why we make an offer, that’s why we make a funnel. Because then I’m hooking them first, then I’m charging them, and the physical act of them pulling out a credit card recommits to themselves that they’re going to go down this path again. So I hook them, recommit them, and then hopefully this time I give them the aha, the thing, that’s the one that…how many times have you gone and studied somebody’s stuff two or three or four times? Like you go to church every Sunday for 20 years of your life and all the sudden that Sunday, that person, whatever it was, you were ready right then. So for me I feel like that, that’s really part of this business. The money, and if you guys aren’t to this point yet, I’m just going to break it to you, the money is not that exciting, moving forward. There comes a point where your house is paid off, everything is taken care of, it’s just not exciting, the money part. But the impact fires you up. So it’s like, I’m hooking them. I have a million plus entrepreneurs, plus everyone else on Facebook, plus the entire world, throwing these offers out trying to hook them and get them to make a commitment. They commit themselves by actually paying for something, and my goal is for this time to give them the aha, the thing where they’re like, “Ah, this is the one.” And I know that 10x Secrets is going to do that for some people and I’m excited. The only reason why we charge and do funnels is because we can get to more people. We can pay for advertizing and that hook gets out to more people, which hopefully grabs people, gets them in, get’s them to commit to themselves and hopefully that will be the one that gets them. It re-engages people, re-ignites people. People who have been on and off, on and off, on and off, hopefully this will be the one for them. Anyway, that’s why. It was kind of cool. It gave me comfort, oh it’s okay for me to do this. I’m doing it for that reason. I want more people to be like, “10x Secrets, that was the one that gave me the clarity that I needed and the permission to do my thing.” Or maybe it’s Ignite Your Funnels, that’s coming out later this year. Or maybe it’s the next thing. Right now Julie Stoien and I working on 10 books, 10 front end books to bridge the gap. We’ve identified 10 submarkets that basically use Clickfunnels, so we’re trying everything in our power to bridge that gap, bridge that gap, bridge that gap. So we’re making 11R’s, training, and success stories, and this is part of our big Project Mother Funnel, but we’re….. Anyway, Julie’s writing 10 different books, one for each segment. You’re in ecommerce, this is how to use Clickfunnels, how to use a funnel. If you’re a business professional, if you’re a freelancer, if you’re an ecom, if you’re a business, whatever it is, if you’re in retail, here’s how to use funnels. It’s bridging the gap. My goal is, all these different offers we’re putting out there, for these segments, I want someone in that segment to get that aha and be like, “Oh, that’s why you use a funnel.” I had one of my buddies literally last night, it’s funny, it’s a friend from not business world, and I always forget that people see me on Facebook, but anyway, he texted me like, “Hey man, do you do stuff for service businesses?” and I’m like, “My whole body of work, anything I’ve ever done for the last decade of my life works for service businesses.” But because it doesn’t specifically say for service businesses, they don’t know it right. They can’t bridge that gap. So I wish the book was done so I could be like, “Yeah, get the book, it’ll tell you exactly how to bridge the gap and then you can go build funnels for your service business.” But we don’t have any yet, so that’s why I keep doing it. In case you’re wondering. Why I keep putting out offers, because I’m trying to hook people, get them to recommit to themselves and hopefully have that one be the one that gives them the aha that makes them move. So I’m curious for you guys, when was it? Which was the thing, the product, the idea, the thing that gave you the aha where you’re like, “That was the thing.” Or have you had it yet, are you still looking for that? Was it a video, a YouTube video, a podcast, a product you bought? There’s a reason why I’m preaching like crazy around the clock to you guys, it’s because I’m hoping and waiting and wishing that each of you guys will get that aha from one of these things. Give you the thing you need to like, “that was the piece. That was the piece I was missing.” So if you wonder why I publish so much, that’s why. I love it, and the feedback. I literally just scroll through the Facebook feed and I’m just liking everything, it just makes me so happy to see all the positive stuff. Anyway, that’s about it. While most conferences take years to gain momentum, it’s no surprise that Grant Cardone was able to build attendance to nearly 10,000 salespeople in just two years, especially since he spends nearly $1,000,000 in marketing every month. How you guys doing, eh? I'm excited for this episode. I am very excited to share this with you actually. I was at an event this last week. I know some of you guys follow both shows I have and there's probably a third one at some point who knows but I was at this awesome event if you guys ever heard of Grant Cardone. Grant Cardone had an event called "The 10x Growth Con". It's amazing. It goes through and talks about you know basically well there's a lot of cool goal setting, how to sell better, things like that and it was interesting. It was a lot of fun. It was cool. Well my friend and mentor and old boss, Russell Brunson, CEO of ClickFunnels, came and he spoke. He was teaching everybody how all this funnel stuff works in different industries. He's like, "And if you're an e-com, this is how it works over here." There's 90 or was it 8,500 people, 8500 people. We were in a stadium, literally. We're all sitting there and the lights are dark and I was listening to Russell and he was talking, he was teaching everyone how to use a lot of cool like funnel automation and the internet to sell in different industries. One of the things that people fight a lot of times, they'll say, "Hey, Stephen this is cool but I just don't know if it works for me. I just don't think it'll work for my MLM. I just don't think it'll work for my product." You might be right. There might be some rule some whatever and you guys know I got a little bit passion in that last episode as I talked about what MLM that I'm or how I chose my MLM and things like that and frankly I still believe what I said that if you really truly cannot use anything internet related, why the heck are you in your MLM? If you can't take advantage of the cool stuff where everyone's actually buying, where the buying eyes are, where people expect to purchase stuff, where the easy sales happen, you better really, really love your product. Anyway, that's a different topic. I was sitting there and Russell's going through and he's talking about, he was teaching everybody like, "Look if I was in e-com I'd do this. If I was in retail, I'd do this. If I was an affiliate, I'd do this." Then he said, "If I was a network marketing I would do this and in fact I didn't tell Stephen. Stephen, where are you?" 8500 people so I just yelled, super loud. I was like, "Woo," and I yelled really loud and it shocked everyone around me. He goes, "What Stephen's doing in network marketing is he makes people apply to join his downline. They got to go through and before he even tells people what MLM he's in they go through, they apply and they create a relationship with him and there's this cool things that he sends out to him and it's this process. Then at the very end then he goes through and talks about his MLM, then he goes through and talks about ... " I was like, "Holy crap". He took screenshots of my funnel and he put it in front of everyone. I was like, "Oh, my gosh, dude! That's so nice of you." I thanked him like crazy, like crazy. Anyway, it was really, really cool that he did that. First of all, I was floored that he used what I'm doing as an example and I was like, "Man, this is really cool." I hope that people realize that what I'm doing here, what I'm teaching on this podcast, what I'm teaching in my product, what Secret MLM Hacks is, is extremely cutting edge. It's not like anything else that's out there. I had someone write in and ask, "Well is it like this sort of thing this other thing?" No. There's nothing else that teaches anything that does what it does. There's nothing else and it's the reason I felt passionate enough to leave my job over it, which is ludicrous. I get it. It is. I understand that but it was justified enough in my head. Everyone acts out enough reason in their head to justify at least their own behaviors and I did that and it was because of this. What I did is first I was like, "Man, that's so cool. I was like, "I hope everyone realizes what he just said and how much credibility comes with the stuff that I'm trying to teach everybody." Then I was looking through my webinar script. I was looking a moment and realized that I was watching the replays, I'm going to pull this, parts of this clip and I'm going to put it inside of my free web class. If you haven't had a chance to go through my free web class, would love to have you. Secretmlmhacks.com and what I'm doing is I'm going through and I'm using it as a piece of authority and credibility showing that what I'm teaching is actually legit. It's awesome. Straight from the mouth of the man right? Russell Brunson in ClickFunnels. You know what I mean? I am not somebody to ... because I get really weird when it comes to authority plays. In fact I was just making fun of somebody's funnel, someone's product, which is all about how cool he is and I was like, "Come on." I spoke at this event once it was all about how you should gain certain amounts of credibility inside of market places and there's an element to that you guys but I make fun of it like crazy. In fact, one of the biggest lessons I've ever heard and learned was actually also from Russell and we were talking about this very principle, should you showboat? Should you look like you are hugely wealthy and massively successful? Should you? Should you? It was interesting. We were talking about those things and I feel a little bit weird about it. I don't necessarily ... there's times and places for it and I believe that this web class that I've been doing that is a time and place, there's a very strategic place for it, which would be great to show. This is an example like, "Hey, look. The guy's talking about me and this program that you're going through right now is that not credible enough to go purchase it, right? And actually see what this is all about. See what all the buzz has been about." There's a very specific lesson that he taught me and this is all I wanted to tell you guys. This is probably going to be a shorter episode but I really believe this. I think Tai Lopez has got some great stuff I really do. I think it's funny that he's talking pictures in front of cars all the time. Since he owns them, okay, we're cool with that but I have heard of people going and renting expensive, exotic cars. This is a thing, go renting exotic looking cars and renting a very expensive looking suit and taking pictures in front of them as if it was theirs and they'll go use it as if that is what makes a sale happen, as if that is the reason why someone will come and follow you and buy from you. It drives me nuts. If that's who you really are, great! Expose that part of yourself. Be an open book. Whatever it is. If that's not your normal thing, do not feel pressured to do that stuff. I don't. Most of the time I literally just wear a T-shirt, jeans and I am barefoot all the time. Why? Because that's me. I hate shoes. Even when I did work for someone else, I never wore my shoes around the office. I had people come up to me and they'd ask me, "Are you just trying to connect with the earth a little more?" That has nothing to do with wuwu or anything like that. It's little out of straight comfort and he's like, "Oh, really? They let you do that here?" I was like, "I don't know. I just never really asked. I just kind of took my shoes off all day." Whatever those differences are in your life, it's all about expanding and highlighting the differences in your life. But, there are times and place when it comes to using credibility, when showing like, "Look I do know what the heck I'm talking about." You should have that as well. It doesn't mean you have to go around. I know some people, you're like I don't feel comfortable running around me like oh, man. Look how good I am. If it feels that way to you then it probably feels that way to other people as well. Okay? There's a level of confidence that you should have. The most confident person in the room always wins. That's one of my favorite quotes. You could be fighting for the wrong point. You could be actually totally dead wrong but as long as you're the most confident person in the room, you will always win. You must be confident. You must have confidence in what you do and what you sell, your MLM's product, the opportunity you're with. You must be confident with it. If you cannot have complete absolute certainty in what it is you're selling, start looking at what you're doing. When it comes to those things there is this area where you should, you should show off a little, know how to talk about yourself appropriately. Look, I am doing X. Look, I am good at it. Look, I'm really good at Y and Z. Look, I'm really good at it. This person over here said that as well. Got some credibility from him. There's ways to do it without looking like you're a self-centered jerk. Can I say that? I don't know. But, that's how I feel though. And there's ways to do it though without looking like you are using your authority and credibility to solely sell. You can use it to help break people's beliefs about you and rebuild it and help them realize that yeah, I actually have done this stuff. That's the same reason someone asks for a resume. This is another form of a resume a far more effective one in my opinion but this is like having a resume that's actually valid that people are actually going to care about when someone else says, "Yes, you are doing great." Yes, he's someone else who's higher in their level of influence, higher in their level of authority. There are certain times and places to use it. Just be careful that to your audience, don't look like you're being self-centered. Here's the quote, this was taught to me also by my friend and mentor, Russell Brunson, and this is what he said, "If you want credibility, don't seek it." That's what he said to me. I said, "Oh, that's really good." He said, "Seriously, if you want credibility in your life, don't seek it. If you want fame don't seek it. If you want ... " the moment you begin to look like you are seeking authority, your market sees it and they will distance themselves from you because you are actively trying to increase the plane that you are on. You are actively trying to increase the level that you're on. You're trying to show look how good I am, instead of buoying up the other people around you. I think it was Tony Robinson who said, "To get what you want in life, all you got to do is help everyone get the things they want in life." You got to help enough people to get what they want in life and you'll have what you want in life. It's all about helping other people, but there's a level, there's a spot when it comes to doing ... anyway, anyway I hope you guys get the point. Hope you guys get the idea of what I'm trying to say here. Is that there's a level, there's an area where it's helpful to do so to actually talk, you need to know how to talk about yourself. You got to know how to sell yourself. They're buying you after all but do it in a way where it doesn't look like you're completely egotistical and if you go, "Stephen what's wrong with that?" You know what? Maybe there's nothing wrong with that but there are people who are attracted to that and a huge amount of people who are not. Anyway, my challenge to you guys. Yes, I'm going to challenge you on this podcast episode today is if you have no video of somebody else talking about how great you've been in their life, go get it. If you have no person of authority who is saying, "Oh, my gosh look. Steve Larson says I'm great." Or, in my case, Russell Brunson says, "This stuff works and this is great." You need that kind of stuff. There are very, very famous marketing launches where the entrepreneur has gone out and they've launched a product and they've got the sales funnel, they've got the sales script, they've got tons and tons of ... , they got lots of sales stuff. They do it right and they make tons of money and they'll close the cart down and people can't buy it for a long time and they'll go get results with the people who bought. There was this ... I can't remember his name, I'm so sorry you guys. I remember the lesson, I remember the principle so I'm sorry I quote it who it was but what he did is he went and he took all of the social proof. He took all the testimonials. He took all of the result people were having with his actual product and he went and he relaunched his product with no sales video, no sales script. There was literally nothing on the page except an absolutely, gigantic webpage full of testimonials and it made as much money as the first time he launched it with no sales script, no sales video. That's the power of it, guys. Social proof is huge. Getting the bless off of people that are higher in authority and influence of you is huge. You should have that stuff. You should get it. You should know when to use it. You should know when to talk about yourself. You should know when not to. You should know when it might be sounding and feeling like you're just completely obsessed with yourself you're not actually there to solve legitimate problems inside the marketplace, right? In fact, for those of you guys who have seen it. In fact the very funnel Russell was talking about, the way I do it is I go through and I get a whole bunch of videos of people talking about how I've helped solve actual legitimate problems for them next to the actual application. As you're filling out the application to join my downline, people are saying, "Look, Stephen helped me with this, this and this. This is what was going on in my life beforehand now, this is what's going on in my life afterwards." That's me doing exactly the very same thing. There are times to use it but not every single piece, 24/7 is me saying, "Look how great I am. Look how amazing I am." Know when to use it. My challenge to you is that if you have been helping people, which I'm sure you have been, I hope you have been. If you feel like there's no one you can reach out to and say, "Hey, do you mind filming just a little video for me, just on your phone saying, "Hey, this is what my life before I met Stephen this is what it was like afterwards."" If there's no one that you can reach out to, I wager that you've not done enough for other people. What I would do is go get a whole bunch of videos from the people in your downline or other people who are of influence who would only do something like that with you and give you that stamp of approval saying, "Ei, I certify this guy." Be truthful about it. Be ethical about it. But doing that does a lot. I'm very excited. I'm taking that video clip out. I can't believe he said that on Grant Cardone's stage in front of 8500 people, very, very nice of him and he walked through the funnel briefly. I'm going to take that and I'm going to put it inside the Secret MLM Hacks free web class so you guys can see the very concept I'm talking about in that web class. This is Russell Brunson, welcome to the Marketing Secrets podcast. Today I’m going to talk to you guys about how I made over $3 million dollars in just 90 short minutes. Alright everybody, unless you’ve been living under a rock, you probably heard everybody talking about what happened last weekend, which was kind of crazy. I had a chance to speak at Grant Cardone’s 10x event and yes, the rumors are true. We did my presentation, at the end I sold this special offer and we sold over $3 million in sales. Not just contracts, but collected cash in the bank in just 90 short minutes. And I’ve got a ton of questions coming in all over the place about how we did it, why we did and all sorts of craziness, so I just wanted to use this episode to kind of tell you the whole back story and to show you the actual process of how we did it. And then at the end I’ve got 12 questions that a lot of you guys are asking as well, that I was going to kind of cover. So that’s kind of the game plan. So with that said, I’ll kind of jump back into the back story. A couple of years ago was the first time I ever heard about Grant Cardone, one of the guys that works for me, Randy Grizzle, he came to me and said something about Grant Cardone, I’m like, “who’s that.” And he’s like, “He’s this guy.” And he showed me some videos and I was like, “Oh.” So I became aware of him then and started following him and just started seeing his stuff. Last year, probably a year and a half ago he decided he was going to launch an event, he called it the 10x Growth Con and he launched this event. And I was not one of the speakers when they launched it. And as they started launching and it started getting bigger and bigger and finally one of my friends, Brian Post, he reached out to me and was like, “Hey you should really speak at this event, it’s going to be a big deal.” And I’m like, “I don’t have time to speak at events anymore, as much as I would love to.” And he was like, “No, this is one that I think it’d be worth it to you to do.” So he introduced me to somebody over there and next thing we knew I was on the page as one of the speakers. And I didn’t know Grant Cardone at the time, and he didn’t know me. In fact, we had a call before the event to find out what I was going to talk about. And I kind of told him and he’s like, “Well I want you to..” I just remember he was like, “I’ve had other people, like internet guys, try to sell stuff and they’re not very good at it. In fact, when you go out there, just go and tell them the price first and just talk about it and people will buy.” And I was like, you guys know my back story, I’ve been doing this for a long time, over a decade. I’ve spoken on stage a lot and I know the process. And I was like, “This is the way that I want to do it.” And they’re like, “No, no. Just do it our way and it’ll work.” And I was like, “Okay.” And in my head I was like, I’m doing it my way. I know what works. But I didn’t want to be weird on our first relationship, our first call, so I was like, “Okay.” So I went to that event and I think there was, I can’t remember how many people it was either 2200 or 2800, I don’t remember the exact numbers. But we got there and you know we showed up, Dave Woodward and I show up and had a big box of order forms and we asked them, “When I speak tomorrow I need a couple of sales tables. I need staff to help man the tables, and close sales.” And they were like, “Why would you do that. We don’t have staff for you.” And I was like, “This is how it works.” And they didn’t have any respect for me at the time, they’d never seen me close or sell. So I couldn’t get them to even give me literally a table to sell from. So I’m like, okay well, this is how we sell. Luckily Alex and Layla Hermosi, who are inner circle members and two comma club winners and soon to be 8 figure award winners, they were in the audience as well. And I said, “Hey can you guys help us to close sales?” And they’re like, “Sure where’s the table?” And I’m like, “There’s no table here.” So there’s three exit doors, so Dave was at one door with a box of applications and a handful of pens we bought at Staples the night before and so was Alex and Layla. So when I did my whole thing and did my close and people started running to the sides to sign up and Dave and Alex and Layla are pulling order forms out of a box, trying to sign up people in a short 30 minute window there, they were able to close just shy of a million dollars in sales. I don’t remember exactly what it was. Almost a million but not quite in sales at this thing. And I remember telling them afterwards, because I got off stage and Grant Cardone came up to me and it was the first time we ever met in person. He was like, “I’ve never seen something like that before.” I’m like, “What?” and he’s like, “I’ve never seen a table rush like that. People were running to the back to buy your stuff.” I was like, “yeah I kind of told you guys that, but nobody believed me.” Anyway, I was like, “That’s how the process works.” I remember afterwards he was like, “I want you to show me how to do that.” So if you watch some of the interviews he had done with afterwards, it was always about that. “I’ve never seen somebody do that before. That was the coolest thing in the world.” About a month or so later they called me on the phone and they’re like, “Hey, we’re thinking about doing another event, this time we’re going to try to get out 9,000 people, do you want to speak at it?” I was like, “Well, first off, I don’t think that’s possible to get 9,000 people out to an event, but the last event was so good, so if you do it again, I would be more than willing to come.” He’s like, “Cool. You’re going to be our big money speaker.” And they put me on the thing and started promoting the thing for the next year. And lo and behold, despite my skepticism, they had 9,000 people in the room. It was crazy. It was in Vegas in the Mandalay Bay in a huge arena that I know they do boxing matches there, they do concerts there, it was crazy. So they filled it out. So probably about month and a half two months ago we did a call with them before the event and they were like, “Okay, this is what’s happening. We’re going to,” I think they’d sold about 8500 tickets at the time, they’re like, “We’re going to have all 9,000 sold.”  I was like, oh crap. So we started talking about how to do the sales process and they were like, “What’s going to happen is we’re going to have an app on the phone, so you just get up and tell everyone to buy in the app, and that’s how you’ll do your table.” I was like, “No, that will kill all the momentum.” And they’re like, “No, that’s how it works.” And I’m like, “No please. Please do not list me on the app.” And they didn’t. All the other speakers were in the app with their price points and they just click a button to buy. I’m like, “Please don’t put me in the app, the whole social psychology happens when people stand up and they’re all running to go buy something. Please don’t take that away from me, please?” So they agreed to not put me in the thing. So I was like, “Okay we need tables.” And they’re like, “How is that going to work? In this arena there’s three levels. There’s the bottom floor, first floor, second floor, third floor. And then it’s this huge basketball arena.” So it’s like, there’s people who can go all around the whole thing. So they’re like, “How are you going to do this?” I’m like, “I don’t know, let us brainstorm this.” So we spent the next couple of weeks trying to brainstorm out this process. Obviously I wanted to go in prepared but the biggest problem was I can’t just be like, “Run to the back of the room and sign up.” Because I’m like, “Run to the back of the room unless you’re on the second or third floor or fourth floor.” Then you gotta run up the stairs and run halfway around the hallway to the other…. Ugh, I was so stressed out. I’m like, how are we going to make this work? So as I was planning this I was talking to a lot of people and one really good idea I got from Brendon Burchard, some of you guys know Brendon. He told me he spoke at a big event like that one time and what he did, he said that afterwards people always want to get pictures with you, which is true. I was stuck in the casinos and the elevators and everywhere, people trying to get pictures with me. But he said that what he did was put up a picture booth right next to the sales table and said, “Anyone who signs up today can get a picture with me so you can have it.” He said what happened is a bunch of people ran over to buy and get in line, and what happened is it took an hour or so to get these pictures. So everyone’s seeing this big line of people, so more people will be coming over and coming over, so you just have the ability to keep closing from social proof for like an hour or so afterwards. So I was like, that’s a really cool idea. So I decided to take that idea and a bunch of other ones and this is kind of how we choreographed it. The first thing you should know from stage selling, one of the biggest things you don’t want people to do, it’s like when you’re about to make your offer is to hand out order forms. People always do this and it drives me crazy. They get to their pitch and they’re like, “Alright everyone hand out the order forms.” And everyone starts handing out the order forms and all the sudden everyone starts looking at each other, getting the order forms, they’re handing it and they’re reading the thing, and they stop focusing on the speaker. When I stopped handing out the order forms, my sales rate dramatically shot up. So I have a rule that’s never hand out order forms, ever. Make them go to the back of the room to get the order form, therefore it creates the table rush to the back. The problem we had this way, first off, if we wanted to hand out order forms we couldn’t, because there’s 9000 seats, so that’s impossible. Second thing is because there’s tables on different levels and things like that, I was just like, it would have been a nightmare. Even, and I’ll get to this in a minute, it took about 3 hours to process and get people to fill out the order forms, because it was so many people. I was like, we need to figure out a way to get order forms in their hands but without them knowing there’s an order form, because if there’s an order form it’s going to kill the sales. So I was like, how are we going to do this? And all the sudden we had this idea for the sneak attack. So let me show you what the sneak attack is, those who are watching this live. If you’re hearing it and you want to see it, go to marketingsecrets.com and you can actually see the video of this, of me explaining this right now. If you’re listening to the podcast though, just kind of walk through this with me. So the first thing I did was like, “Okay, what if we gave them all packets?” This is the packet right here. I was like, “Inside this packet we’re going to have two things, number one is the order form, because this is what they need to have to fill out. And I’m going to have as little detail as possible on the order form, just enough that they know what they’re getting and have the ability to fill it out.” So this is the order form. I’m like, “I want this on everyone’s chair, but I don’t want them to see an order form. And the second thing, most people aren’t going to have a pen. If I got 9000 people potentially buying and there’s no pen. I need to sneak attack a pen into everyone’s seat.” So the goal was to sneak attack this order form and this pen into everybody’s seat without them knowing there was an order form there. That’s why we put it in this really cool package that looks awesome. And then inside we put in a couple of things. Number one, we put in these really cool “I build funnels” stickers. One that goes on your laptop, one that goes on your phone. So they get these, here’s a gift from Russell, reciprocity right. Here’s this really cool sticker. Then number two we gave them these cool pop sockets that go on the back of your phone that say “Funnel Hacker”. I was able to do a couple of things, one was to actually demo how to use these during my presentation. Number two, they put these on their phone, now they’re part of our community, they’re funnel hackers. So these two gifts that were there, and then I had a note sheet for my presentation. So you get out the sheet here and you can open it up and take notes, what I’m talking about. So all these three things, the whole goal is to be so cool and exciting that people do not notice the fact that there’s a sneaky little order form and a pen inside the envelope. This is how we are Trojan horsing an order form into every single seat in the entire arena. Then we had this envelope and the back was a big huge sticker that said, “Warning, do not open until Russell Brunson’s presentation begins.” And that was on the back of the sticker. So that was the plan and we started getting these all printed. 9000 of them printed and put together. But then the problem that happened, we found out that seats for the event, they don’t lay flat, they pop up when people aren’t sitting on them. So our envelopes wouldn’t sit on the seats because they would pop up and they’d fall to the ground. So we’re like, crap now we gotta figure out a way to make sure that these packets actually stay on their desks. So then we went and ordered 9000 of these bags that say Clickfunnels on it, then we put the packet inside the bags and then hung the bags on the chair. Then the next question was how do we get these 9000 of these out to everybody. So we had to figure out how to do it. So we ended up doing it the night before I spoke. After the event was over, I think we hired 10 or 15 temp workers, plus we had about 10 people from our team and they went out to every single chair and took the packet inside the envelope and hung it on a chair. It took them about 2 ½ to 3 hours to do that to the entire thing, to blanket the entire audience with the Trojan horse order forms, wrapped up with a whole bunch of cool gifts and things like that. So that was the thing, then the way it was going to happen was that after somebody decided to buy, they were going to run to, if they were in VIP, there was a VIP room with a table. If they were in the bottom floor, there was two tables in the back of the bottom floor and if they were in anywhere in the bowl around they had to go to section 118. So some people would run up the stairs and it was right there. And some people had to run up the stairs and then run clear around the whole thing. And then what they would do, they would order and take the order form right here and fill it out, take it someone on our team and then someone on our team would then hand them this packet right here, it says Funnel Builder Secrets, what they bought, then they could open this thing up and they had a couple of things inside of it, they pull it out. Number one, here’s a thing that shows them how to claim what they just purchased, so it shows them how to go online, what’s going to happen, how we’re going to text them their login and if they have any issues or support issues. Number two is there’s a letter to their business partner or their spouse explaining what they just bought so that when they get home they’re not like, “Why did you spend this money.” And then number three was a golden ticket, that said you can come and get a picture with Russell. So they were handed this packet back, they were supposed to rip this open, grab the golden ticket out and then run up to 118 to stand in line to get pictures with me, and on top of that there were some other cool bonuses that we gave them. The Funnel Hacker cookbook if they brought this to us, then we also gave them the Expert Secrets, Dotcom Secrets audiobook that they could plug in their ear and listen to on their ride home. So those are the two things that we had created to get them to buy. So that was kind of the game plan. So we went out there, and the second thing is that I was going to do my presentation, but the problem is that everybody at it the year before had seen my presentation. We’d signed up I think 450 or almost 500 people the year before at $1997. And then over the last 12 months Grant has been promoting that presentation like crazy. So I think like half a million people have seen that presentation through him and his audience. We sold a lot of Clickfunnels because of it, thank you Grant. We love you. But I was like, I can’t give the exact same presentation to the same audience who’s pretty much already seen this thing. But I needed to give the same framework of the presentation, because the framework is what sells Clickfunnels, which has been proven to sell Clickfunnels. And I couldn’t make the same offer because we were charging more, we were charging $3000 and then number two, not only were we charging $3000, but obviously I needed to create a better offer because I wanted everyone who bought last year to buy again, and a bunch of other things. So that was some of the groundwork. So why did we raise the price to $3000? A bunch of different reasons. Number one my goal was, when we first started this, my goal was to make $3 million dollars in an hour and a half and this is the reason why. When you do an event like this, 50% of what you sell goes to the person hosting the event, you keep the other 50%. So my goal was to try to make, I wanted to net a million dollars an hour. That way if somebody ever asked me how much I charge an hour I could be like, “Well, it’s a million dollars an hour.” So that was kind of my selfish reason why I wanted, that was my goal. I was like, okay 9000 people, if we can close one out of 9, at $3000 a piece, that’d be $3 million dollars, which means I netted a million dollars an hour for an hour and a half, which would be really, really cool. So that was the goal going into it. So because of that, I took my framework, my presentation and I re-tweaked it, re-changed it, but the structure was still the same. I customized it very specific to their audience because I know who their audience is and I know what they’re looking for, the types of businesses they have, what their major concerns were. So we crafted the presentation to speak directly to them, and then we made the offer better. We added a bunch more cool things. We added Funnel Scripts for a year, we added Traffic Secrets and a bunch of other cool things. So the presentation was similar to ones I’d done in the past, but it definitely upgraded for this event. So I got on stage, excuse me, it was crazy. So we got there, I was supposed to speak, Grant was supposed to speak the second day and I was supposed to speak right after him. But we got there and Grant’s voice was gone and they’re like, “Grant can’t speak, so you’re up right now.” I’m like, ahh I’m not ready for this. We had to kind of scramble, get everything together and they introduced me. I came onstage and did my presentation and at the end of the presentation I sold and from that we had over 3 million dollars collected from the presentation and we’re still, I think we have another half million or so in declines that we’re going through right now. When all is said and done it’s going to be somewhere between 3 ½ to 4 million dollars. But for simplicity sake, we made at lease, more than 3 million dollars in 90 minutes, which means I netted more than a million dollars an hour for an hour and a half of my time, which was amazing. And it was cool. So that’s kind of behind the scenes. Some of the tricks and things that we did to make sure that that actually worked. I hope I..I’m sure I missed some things. Oh yeah, so after I did my whole presentation, we closed. It was crazy, they took me, they had security guards and the security guards took me back and people were running to all the different places, right. I see people running to the VIP table, I saw people running to the back tables, running up the stairs. And it was weird because typically when I get a table rush, usually it’s in a smaller room and you hear the hustle and the bustle and it’s really, really loud. And a lot of times, in fact, I’ll do a table rush and it’ll get so loud in the room during the table rush, I can’t even finish my presentation. Whereas with this one, because the stadium was so big, I heard a lot of rustling, but it didn’t get loud. So it was kind of this weird thing, I have no idea if people are actually buying, I was kind of nervous. So I ended, later when I went off stage and security guards took me to the bathroom, got me a drink and then took me back up to where the picture booth was at. When I got to the picture booth I walked through the door and I look out there and see this section that had all these stantions, I think that’s what it’s called, when people weave back and forth, and about 5 or 6 levels deep are all these people as far both directions as I can see. And people told me later that the line literally wrapped around the entire arena. I stood there and people come in, I shook their hands, take a picture, next person, next person, next person. And it took like 3 ½ or 4 hours worth for pictures with 1000 or 1200 people, whatever it was. Picture after picture after picture. I remember my face being really sore when I got married on my wedding night, this was like that but way worse. Way longer, just the perma smile, it was crazy. It was awesome. And then we went back to the hotel that night, went up to the room and we had 8 or 9 people sitting there trying to process all the transactions as fast as they could, which was really cool as well. Just seeing these huge stacks of order forms and seeing our whole team going though processing orders. And then what happened, by the time it’s done we processed I think we had in the bank like 2.4 million, but there was 800+ thousand dollars in failed credit card payments. So the next morning we sent an email and also texted everybody’s who’s credit card failed, told them to come back to the table. So by the time I woke up in the morning, I came down, the booth, the 10x booth was there and there was a line of people and they had 4 or 5 people deep, wrapping through stantions like a big line of probably 50 or 60 people in line getting their credit cards updated. And then we texted Grant and his team and said “hey, this was awesome. I think I could push people over the edge. This is a group full of sales people, they probably want to learn how to sell. What if I did a special one day event where I showed them how to sell the way that I just sold? And if you can give me ten minutes, I think I could close another, who knows worth of people.” So they agreed to let me get back on stage the next day for about ten minutes. I come up there and basically tell everyone, “We did 3 million dollars in sales, if you guys want to see what we did, everyone who already signed up, congratulations you get this for free. I’m doing a one day workshop where I’m going to walk you guys through how we do our presentation. And then for those who didn’t, now is the time. I’m pushing you over the edge. Stand up right now, go get signed up and you’ll get this bonus as well.” And apparently we got another 250-300 thousand dollars in sales came from that. From the double close. We’re nicknaming it the double close. So it was the second close on the second day and it was really, really cool. I’m trying to think of anything I wanted to share with you guys. So we did that, we did the double close and it was amazing. Such a fun experience. Alright with that said, there was twelve questions that Julie Stoian pulled off of Facebook that people were asking like crazy, I’ve probably already answered some of these, but I’m going to go through it anyway. And then she’s probably going to turn this into a really cool blog post, if you want to see a detailed breakdown of this with images and screen shots of all the cool stuff we talked about, it’ll also be posted on the Marketing Secrets blog over at marketingsecrets.com. Alright so here we go. The title of these questions are the 10 questions everyone keeps asking about selling $3 million in 90 minutes. But it’s actually 12 questions, but there we go. Question number 1: “How long did it take you to create your presentation?” A great question. The framework that I used was the framework from my Funnel Hacks presentation, those who have been following me for the last three years. I did start a brand new slide deck over. Slide number one, I went through and created all new slides, but I was taking a lot of sections from my other presentations and kind of bleeding them in. I started that Monday. I worked on it all day Monday and all day Tuesday. Let’s see, is that right? Monday, Tuesday and then Wednesday I flew to go see Dean Graziosi. So Wednesday I was with him all day and then we flew from Boise to Arizona, spent all day there, from there we flew back to our hotel in Vegas. So that night I spent some time and then Thursday I spent probably half a day. So probably total said and done, probably 3 full days on the presentation. If I were doing it from scratch, it would take a lot longer than that, obviously. It probably take me about a week and a half to two weeks. But there’s three days kind of re-working it and kind of re-figuring the whole thing out and getting it all to work. Number 2: “How did you come up with such a great offer?” A couple of things, first off, I’ve had my Funnel Hacks offer for a while. So I kind of know what that is and I was just trying to make it better. So what are the things we can add to make this offer even better than it already is, if that’s possible? So that’s kind of where we started at. It looks like my battery or camera I’m using for this presentation is overheating. So I’m going to pause this real quick, let the battery cool down, and I’ll be back to answer question 2 through 12 here in a few seconds. Alright I’m back, hopefully the camera won’t overheat again, but during the break James thought it would be a good idea if I showed you guys a stack of the order forms. So here is a stack of all of the order forms that were successfully processed so far. Each one of these counts as a $3000 dollar bill. Yeah, that’s a lot of 3000 dollar bills. So yes, this works. As I’m starting this somebody, it wasn’t one of the questions here, but I saw it as I was scrolling through Facebook before I clicked record. Someone’s asking where I made up my presentation from. You guys this is the perfect webinar script. If you haven’t read the Expert Secrets book yet, literally I just use the script that’s in the Expert Secrets book. I have a problem with secrets. I just tell everybody my secrets. So the presentation is literally word for word from the Expert Secrets book. Same one that I’ve been using and trying to get all you guys to use as well. So there you go. Alright, back to the questions. Question number 2: “How did you come up with such a great offer?” So again, I just took our offer we’ve been using in the past and we tried to 10x it. The event name was 10x and I kept saying, Grant told me to 10x the event, how can we make this better? So instead of giving them copywriting training I gave them Funnel Scripts. Instead of giving them a traffic workshop, I gave them Traffic Secrets. I did a call, I did a webinar blueprint with Jason Fladlien last week before the event and one of the things he talked about is when he tries to include bonuses he’s like, “First off, I try to get proof that the bonus is actually worth a lot.” So one of the bonuses I gave people access to Traffic Secrets, which is John Reese’s course on how to get traffic, we bought the company from him, licensed all the content from him. So instead of me saying, “Hey you get access to traffic secrets.” I literally showed, “Here’s all the wire transfers and all the money I sent John Reese to buy Traffic Secrets. So to give you this bonus, it cost me almost a million dollars to be able to give you this bonus.” And people were just going crazy like, “Dude, you spent a million dollars and I gotta give you $3000 for that.” so it makes it really big. So example, if you’re trying to create a bonus, one thing Jason says is really smart, “I go and hire someone who is awesome at this thing and I don’t just, usually I can get it for free, but instead I go and pay them, wire them $10,000  or something, so I can show people that I literally spent $10,000 for this interview and you guys get it for free as part of this course.” So it just gives you a proof element. Anyway, that was kind of a cool thing. So that’s kind of how we made the offer so great. Its software and if you look at also the way I structure my offers it’s like, “When you invest in the Funnel Hacks training today, I’m giving you all this other stuff for free.” Clickfunnels became free, Traffic Secrets is free, Funnel Scripts is free. All the other things are all free, free, free. The only thing they’re paying for is the actual training. So that’s kind of a cool way to structure it. And then again, I had the bonuses. We had the Funnel Hacker Cookbook, and the audio book they got to leave with, which people love leaving events with stuff that they can show they actually invested in something. So they got the book, they got the MP3 player and then what else, what else? Oh the picture. Something they could only get right there. you get a picture with me so you can take that home and that way you got a picture you can use. I told people to put it on their wall as a reminder of the commitment they made, they’re going to 10x their business in the next 12 months. Those are some of the things from the offer. “What are the things you do right before the presentation to stay focused?” So for me, I still get nervous, even at the smaller events. Usually I’m nervous about an hour or two before I get on stage, and this one, I was nervous for 2 ½ days before I got on stage. I had this nervous energy, which wears you out. So part of it, I have to keep my energy up. So eating really healthy, making sure I try to get sleep at night, trying to just keep energy up. In the morning when I’m getting ready I was listening to music trying to get myself in state. And a lot of it for me is getting down there. I had to go the night before and actually stand on the stage. For some reason that calms my nerves when I see this is what it’s going to look like, and what the audience is going to look like, that was a big part for me. Then when I got down there, it was just like, I pray a lot during these nervous times. I’m praying a lot that I’m going to be able to serve at the highest level, that I’m going to be able to say things that are going to inspire people and motivate people to actually change their life. Yes, a lot of praying. Then when it gets real close, I jump around and try to get my energy out, try to get prepared and ready. And then they start calling your name, and next thing you know you step out there and as soon as, for me, as soon as I got on the stage, I see everybody and all the nerves kind of crash, boom into state, and you just go. Hope that helps. Number 4: “What is the hardest thing about logistics of processing that many sales so quickly?” So I kind of talked about that, the fact that nobody had pens, there’s no where to send people to order forms. So kind of what we did with those packets and the sneak attack, the Trojan horse order forms and pens, that was the biggest part to get it to work. Then I had enough people to take orders. We literally had people there, over an hour long line, just to be able to take people’s money, which I felt bad for the next 3 or 4 speakers because literally people were out in hallway either buying or watching this whole circus that was happening out there in this huge line. So it was pretty cool. Number5: “How did you prepare your team and or company for this event?” It was a big, a lot of preparation. Ahead of time we had a pre-meeting explaining the process. When we got there we showed everyone, “Here’s the tables that are happening, here’s what you gotta be doing. When you get this you gotta return this.” And for the most part it worked really good. We had some temp workers there who didn’t pay attention very well, they kind of messed some things up, but for the most part it ran really flawlessly, which is good. Number 6: “How has it been since the event?” It’s been crazy. I was in Vegas for a day and a half afterwards just processing orders and getting stuff done. It was tough, I remember in the morning I needed to get some water. There was a little shop where we could buy stuff, right next to the elevators. So I jumped in the elevators, came down, went to buy some waters and I got stuck out there for 25 minutes taking pictures with people. I’m in my jammies, my hair’s all messed up, I’m tired. I’m like, “I’m just trying to get some water for my wife and I.”Someone came up to me and they’re like, “You buy your own water. You’re the only multi-millionaire I know who buys their own water.” I thought that was kind of funny. That was kind of crazy. And then we needed to get B-roll though. So part of me, we made $3 million dollars in the presentation. I’m going to make a lot more than $3 in me telling the story of this presentation and you’ll see some stuff coming out over the next few months of how we’re going to keep this momentum going. But part of it is telling the story. I had three of my video guys there capturing stuff. And one of them, Dan Usher, he’s making a promo video of the bonus I gave people at the Funnel Hacking Live event. So you guys will see that here in the near future. But one of the things that he wanted, he’s like, “I want an aerial shot of the event because you can’t fly a quad copter around Mandalay Bay.” So he went and rented a helicopter, one of the helicopters that there’s no doors on it. And then we got to go in the helicopter and they harnessed us to the helicopter, and then we flew at night past Mandalay Bay. I got to hang out of the helicopter looking back as he’s filming me, for a 3 second B-roll shot that we’re going to use in the promotional video. So we did a lot of fun stuff like that. We got to take my wife shopping to go get some clothes, and myself shopping as well to go get clothes for Funnel Hacking Live. Stuff like that, which was kind of cool. After that we went to Michael Jackson show, which was really cool as well. It was a good time, we had a good time. It was hard to walk through the halls afterward. It was just getting bombarded by everyone wanting to take pictures. It’s tough because I want to give everyone a chance. It’s like, if you bought, you got your picture, that was your shot. Anyway, it was just, I feel bad telling people no and I had to tell a lot of people no. It was tough. But other than that it’s been crazy. It’s fun watching on Facebook because everyone’s talking about it. Apparently traffic conversion events happening right now and I’m not there, but a bunch of my team is there, and they said that it’s the talk of the whole event. Everyone’s talking about it, which I’ve been getting texts and voxers and Facebook messages from people all over the place that are messaging about it. So it’s kind of fun that it was that big of a deal that people know about it. Alright number 7: “What’s one piece of advice you give someone about to sell from stage or from a webinar?” Study this book, I spent a year of my life writing this book so you’d know exactly what to say, how to say it, where to say it. And then go watch all my webinars. Even if you’re not going to buy my stuff, watch and learn the process, learn the energy level, all those things you need to be able to produce a webinar and to do it. Model it, model, model, model. You know one of my friends who’s now got a career writing webinars for people. He told me, “I’ve watched your funnel hacks webinar at least 100 times.” People are doing webinars and I’m like, “Did you watch mine?” and they’re like, “Nah, I haven’t seen it yet.” Are you kidding me? Do your homework. Anyway, there you go. See how I pitch, why I pitch, see my tonality, my voice patterns, how I do the stack and the close and how I create urgency and scarcity and how I’m answering questions, all those things are keys to it. So you can read it in the book and then go watch it to understand it. Number 8: “Why did you have people do manual orders instead of digital?” Okay, again, everyone else who sold at the event had people pull out their phones and click on the app to buy the product. A couple of things, number one, when we were in the venue, the app had no internet access. People that were doing that, the sales actually didn’t go through. So a lot of their speakers were like, “Okay when you leave the event, go and find it.” Number two is half of selling is like the social pressure and the psychology behind social proof that this is actually real. So it’s like, people pull out their phone and buying, nobody knows who else is buying. When people are all running up and they’re running somewhere, they see a line that wraps around the arena, they see all this energy and excitement and momentum. “I don’t know what exactly that is, but everyone else gets it, so it must be something I need to be a part of as well.”  So it causes a social situation you can use as well. So that’s why we did the old school way. Number 9: “What was the incentive for them to wait in that long of a line during the table rush?” It was to be able to come get a picture with me, which may seem like a dumb little thing but it’s important to people. I just know that every time I walked through the hallway before and after I was getting mugged by people who wanted their picture with me, which is funny for my wife. She’s like, “Why do people want their picture with you?” I’m like, “I have no idea.” It doesn’t make sense to me either. But that was a big thing, people want that and it gives them something tangible. So that was a big part of it. Plus when they sat in line they got the physical Funnel Hacker Cookbook and the MP3 player, so it just gives them something tangible as well. And to get people to meet you. Someone buys from and invests from you, they want to meet you and they want to shake your hand, and to have a picture with you means the world to them. Number 10: “Do you feel different now that you’ve broken another huge record?” Honestly no, I feel exactly the same. My goal now is to not let my head get too big. But definitely to leverage it, to grow Clickfunnels even further. So like I said earlier, $3 million dollars in 90 minutes is cool, but the $30 million we’ll generate in the next 12 months because of this, because of the story is more important. And that’s what’s going to happen next. That’s what most people give up. Most people do the first thing and then they stop, leave the first thing. You will watch over the next 4 months how I leverage this. You will definitely see it. Number 11: “Is Grant Cardone getting kickbacks since it was his event?” Yes, you split the proceeds of your sales 50/50 with the event promoter, they’re the ones who did all the hard work to get the people in the room so they get half of the profits and it’s totally, totally, totally worth it. Number 12: “Is there anything you’d do differently?” Maybe, but I don’t know yet. You know, I think overall we executed it pretty well. We thought a lot through it and it worked really, really well. I think my double close, my second presentation, I probably would have choreographed that one a little better, maybe get some slides and some things. I just kind of went up and there just kind of talked. So I probably would have choreographed that a little bit differently. But for the most part, really, really happy with how it all went. So there you go guys, that was what happened at 10x event. That’s how I made $3 million dollars in 90 minutes. It was tons of fun.
