Kim Kaupe is my guest and she's one of the hardest people to introduce… because her background is sooooo diverse and freakishly cool… it's hard to encapsulate. BUT… I'm going to try. Call it an updated and revised approach to “Winning Friends and Influencing People.” We dig into her specific strategies so you can spread your ideas, grow relationships and get your dreams done! I think of a lot of what she's doing as “How to win friends and influence people… version 2.0.” She's doing all sorts of innovative things… like her weekly LIVE podcast called “Coffee with Kim.” Which by the way… I was recently on and I loved it! Kim also has created courses that run in partnership with LinkedIn… and about 200,000 people have utilized those!!! So THAT's huge. Hear all about it as we explore what we don’t know, what we need to change and what we need to do to ensure that we’ll have the business and technical talent we’ll all need to survive and thrive in the 21st Century. In this episode, Kim shares her thoughts on how the Future of the Automotive Workforce panel came about and how it explored the most challenging issues facing show owners today. Hear all about it as she discusses:· How Kim got started in the automotive service industry with her own shop in Arizona and found her calling as a coach, mentor and trainer with ATI.· How Kim personally works to train the next generation of trainers in the industry.· Why there’s a shortage of technicians and people getting into our industry.· What the industry is doing to address these shortages.· Where we’re falling short in cultivating the talent we do see coming into the shop.· How the requirements for becoming an automotive technician have evolved.· What we need to do as an industry to help the educational system increase the supply of new technical talent.· The biggest barriers to those thinking of entering our industry and the cost involved in education, training and tools.· How the competition for the technical talent we need goes far beyond our own industry and who those competitors are.· Why we’re not doing nearly enough to tell our story about how the automotive industry can offer a rewarding, secure career with opportunities for growth and advancement that remain largely unknown and unappreciated by parents and career counselors.· For more information, you can contact Kim at khickey@autotraining.net

Today’s guest shares her personal story of recurrent pregnancy loss, including early miscarriage and multiple ectopic pregnancies. She shares how her mental and emotional healing journey led to the writing of a book. Kim Hooper is the author of several novels; her latest is No Hiding in Boise, which comes out this June. She and her co-authors wrote All the Love: Healing Your Heart and Finding Meaning After Pregnancy Loss as a mix of personal stories plus information and awareness from the clinical side. The book covers topics like reconnecting with your partner after loss, considerations for LGBTQ couples, trying again after loss, coping and healing, and racial, cultural, and socioeconomic issues. I’m thankful for Kim’s willingness to share her story of multiple losses, healing, and what it was like to finally give birth to a healthy baby after her long journey. What you’ll learn about in this episode: How Kim has demonstrated the importance of building business resilience in her own coaching business by adapting to virtual coaching during the global pandemic How the key to developing resilience is by letting go of struggles and leverage opportunities, and why the first step is to stabilize yourself How Kim defines resilience, and why taking control of your mindset is an important aspect of resilience What three-step process Kim coaches business owners and leaders through to stabilize themselves and become stronger leaders through adversity Why Kim is focused on “doing fewer things but doing them extraordinarily well”, and what the process of working with Frame of Mind Coaching looks like Why too many clients define their goals but then act in ways completely contrary to getting to those goals, and how Kim helps them realign their actions to their goals What major coaching mistakes business owners often make, and why “being empathetic” isn’t the same as being understanding Why too often business leaders focus on behaviors rather than on the beliefs that are driving those behaviors Why, instead of offering instant solutions, you should work to empower your team to find their own solutions Kim offers two questions you should write down and answer that can help you achieve greater clarity on your mindset and help you in building business resilience Resources: Listen to Kim’s previous appearance in Onward Nation Episode 215 Learn strategies for building business resilience with Kim’s The Frame of Mind Coaching Podcast Email Kim@frameofmindcoaching.com Visit Kim’s Website for more information on her coaching Kim’s LinkedIn Frame of Mind Coaching’s LinkedIn Frame of Mind Coaching’s Facebook Kim’s Twitter @kimades Additional Resources: Free Executive Leadership Summary report from Predictive ROI: https://predictiveroi.com/research Sell With Authority by Drew McLellan and Stephen Woessner: https://amzn.to/39y7x13 Predictive ROI Free Resource Library: https://predictiveroi.com/resources/ Stephen Woessner’s LinkedIn: www.linkedin.com/in/stephenwoessner/
I am so excited to share today’s guest, nationally-recognized speaker & happiness coach, Kim Strobel, with you all today. As a leadership and happiness coach, Kim helps businesses and organizations prioritize their health and well-being so they can reach new levels in their personal and professional lives. Kim also suffers from panic attacks, the story of which she openly discusses here today and throughout her work in an effort to help all those who have experienced dark times realize that coming out the other side of these times is very much within everyone’s grasp. Kim and I are definitely on the same page and we talk about a lot of the same things - I absolutely adore her and I know you will as well. As with all guests, I begin by checking in on how Kim is doing these days, and she responds with her trademark honesty and straightforwardness, and then we explore her journey to where she is now. Along the way, Kim’s describes the story of her panic disorder, some strategies she implemented on her own to address it, a truly pivotal moment in her life and the help that her doctor and psychologist provided for her as a result. She also recommends a valuable resource for those who experience anxiety and panic attacks, describes how ‘The Happiness Coach’ was born, details her relapse in 2018, and shares the science behind happiness and some powerful strategies for us all to implement. Kim’s closing comments regarding the need to honor and embrace both yourself and your own level of happiness, supported by years of research and her own experiences, will undoubtedly resonate with you and give you greater clarity regarding your own happiness and your ability to get through hard times. The hard work Kim has done over the years has changed her life, and it can have the same impact for you as you listen in today. I just want to give you a heads-up that, over the next few weeks, I will be taking a bit of a hiatus from recording the podcast and will, instead, be revisiting some ‘Best of She Doesn’t Settle’ episodes from the past. I’m currently involved with a very time intensive memoir writing workshop, so I’ve selected a few of my favorite episodes to put out there again as a refresher for current listeners, and as an introduction for those new to the podcast. Rest assured, I will be back with new episodes in a few weeks – in the meantime, please enjoy my ‘Best of’ series. You can have all of the “right” things in the right place and still benefit from financial coaching. When I work with clients, it's not just about creating a budget it's about changing your relationship with money. This is the exact work I did with Kim because she wasn't looking to have a solid debt pay off plan or even a solid savings plan- those things were already set. She needed to shift her money mindset, her approach to managing her money, and develop a new level of financial confidence as a newly single mom so she could feel control. In this episode you will learn… How Kim saved hundreds of dollars by looking at her bank account How Kim saved $1,000, in less than a month, by making a few tweaks to her mindset and her spending Why our partnership helped her become more intentional about spending money and discover how to spend from a place of joy, not fear How Kim overcame her past belief that she isn't worthy of money and her fear that her money might disappear You can have all of the resources at your fingertips but if we don't have the tools to manage our income you won't see the results you desire. Tune into this episode to hear how Kim has shifted the way she views her finances after working with me in a 1:1 partnership. Visit www.wealthovernow.com to apply to work with me.

My journey with exercise has been chaotic for most of my life. Dieting really screwed up my relationship to exercise as much as it f*cked up my relationship to food. When I first entered the world of Health At Every Size and Intuitive eating the concept of Joyful Movement sent me straight into cognitive dissonance. And then I quickly realize that as much work I needed to do to change how I perceived food and my food habits I needed to do the same work with exercise. I had to make a conscious decision to heal my relationship to exercise. I stopped waiting for prince charming to come and fix it all. If I was going to find ever find joy in moving my body I had to be intentional. Diet culture might have f*cked how I see exercise but it was up to me to unf*ck it. In this episode of the podcast Kim Hagle a mom of four and non-diet fitness expert is going to help us heal our relationship to exercise. Kim hosts The Intuitive Movement Show podcast and through her signature program Right Body for Me, she helps women discover joyful movement and motivation that lasts so they can heal their relationship to exercise and feel confident in their own skin. What you’ll learn listening to this episode: ⦁ How Kim went from being picked on by other kids to being a fitness professional. ⦁ The difference between movement and exercise ⦁ Is the gym police a problem for you? ⦁ The 10 principles of Joyful Movement ⦁ How to find motivation without punishment or “no pain no gain”... What if you could learn to love your husband before you even have one? That's what we are talking about today with author and speaker, Kim Vollendorf. Kim once thought Jesus was boring and irrelevant, but she changed her mind about Him in college. As a result, she has spent the past three decades working with the campus ministry Student Mobilization, discipling college women, and mentoring StuMo staff. She made it through thirteen weddings as a single bridesmaid before she met and married her dreamy husband Sean. They have been married for more than twenty years, and have three sons.As Kim has experienced the ups and downs of being both single and married, she found herself saying over and over again, “Young women need to know this.” One day she scribbled down on an index card the key lessons she learned as a single woman that really paid off in her marriage. The notes on that card became a series of talks which drew in thousands of young women, and those talks eventually became the book Loving Your Husband Before You Even Have One.Hit the Highlights (3:00) How Kim's ministry began (10:30) What are the biggest lies women believe before getting married?(17:45) What to do if you waited until marriage, and the sex still isn't that great. Frequently we will ask ourselves—why am I unhappy? But the key component is the question underneath the question. What is making you unhappy? Or better yet, what would you know if you were happy? A friend, former guest, and storytelling expert, Hillary Rea, shared that it might come down to asking a more beautiful question—a question that helps you get to the heart of the question to uncover the answer. Often, Hillary uses the phrase—ask a more beautiful question—to prompt her to get to the heart of an issue. Throughout my own experiences, I’ve found that the beautiful question is usually underneath the question that’s important and so today’s episode is a study into the question underneath the question concept. I’m talking with Kim Strobel who’s a happiness and empowerment coach and the founder of Strobel Education. As a leadership consultant and happiness coach, Kim helps businesses, organizations, and high-achievers prioritize their health and well-being so they can reach new levels in their business and their life. And as a result, businesses and organizations take massive actions and create positive change in every area. Listen to the full episode to hear: The conventional happiness formula and how it keeps us stuck Adding gratitude and affirmations into your life in a helpful way (you know I have some opinions about these 2 concepts so Kim and I break it down for you!) Working with me this way is an incredibly efficient and effective way to deal with your anxiety in the moment--without waiting for your next appointment. I have been doing this work for over 20 years and Coach in Your Pocket is the most effective and most life-changing work I have ever done. My clients are consistently blown away by how these daily check-ins combined with the monthly face-to-face video meetings create slow, lasting changes that reprogram their High Functioning Anxiety tendencies over time. Over the course of the three-month program, we meet once a month for a face-to-face session via a secure video chat, and then throughout the entire three months, you have access to me anytime you are feeling anxious, having a Monger attack, celebrating a win, or just need to check-in, and I will respond to you during my office hours (Monday through Friday, 9 am - 6 pm EST). When you think about how you learned to view nutrition and exercise, who do you think of? I'd say my parents. (Well, my parents and Denise Austin. If you don't know Denise from her leotard-clad workouts on Getting Fit with Denise Austin, give her a Google.) Whether we realize it or not, a lot of the beliefs we have about food, exercise, and our bodies come from who we looked up to growing up. Sometimes that's a great thing that sets us up for creating healthy habits. And sometimes our role models are not so great at helping us create healthy habits for ourselves as adults. I'm super excited to share with you the guests (yes plural!) in this episode! Kim Sorey and Kalee Dillard are a mother and daughter fitness and nutrition duo who help women transform their lives through healthy habits, personal development, and coaching. This is the first time I've had two guests and it was so fun to get two perspectives (one from the mom and another from her daughter) on how to raise kids with healthy habits and healthy views of food and exercise. It was also really great to hear how we as moms can take care of ourselves by giving ourselves a little grace and balance instead of an 'all or nothing' approach to being healthy. This was a fun episode full of honesty, laughs, and great parenting AND wellness wisdom!! We talk about: How they work together as a mother & daughter health & nutrition team What happened that made them want to quit their jobs and start a business together Why a healthy, active lifestyle is so important to them How Kim approached meals, healthy choices, and exercise as a mom while raising Kalee What Kalee learned growing up and forming ideas around healthy choices and exercise How they create balance in their lifestyle and give themselves grace when it comes to nutrition and fitness The best piece of advice they give to a mom who has young kids and maybe isn't quite sure how to incorporate healthy eating and exercise into her busy day with kiddos running around Connect with Kim & Kalee: Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/KimandKalee Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/kim_and_kalee Pinterest - https://www.pinterest.com/kimkalee Website - https://www.soreyfitness.com and https://www.kimandkalee.com Podcast- The Kim & Kalee Show For show notes and resources mentioned: http://www.gotchamama.com/blog GOTCHA MAMA INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/gotchamama/ GOTCHA MAMA FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/gotchamama/

Today I am talking to a friend/ local doula mommy Kim Summer about the current state of the world, going through a pandemic with little ones, being on call as a doula and empowering women during tough times. Kim is a mother, writer, birth doula, maternal health care advocate, and postpartum educator with a focus on postpartum mood and anxiety disorders. She supports families from all walks of life including Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara Counties. Just as all of us are coming to terms with social isolation and major societal upheavals during this time, Kim is going to share about the effects this has had on birthing mothers, hospital visits and how many mamas are switching to at home births. Kim's own mom and brother had their own battle with COVID 19 and came out on the other side. Kim wants to emphasize that there is a lot of hardship right now, but also a lot of healing and good that will come from this as well. All while acknowledging the full spectrum of emotions that come up during such an extreme time. Kim is a mom of three who has gone through single motherhood and isn't afraid to talk about mommy empowerment and sexuality. As a fellow Aries (like myself) I can resonate with with her passion, leadership and fire, as well as intensity of feelings which is why she feels so deeply about helping mamas and their pre and postpartum wellness. What I love about Kim is her willingness to open up about subjects that are sometimes taboo like extended breastfeeding, and maternal rights in healthcare. What a doula's roles are and why they are important to a pregnant and birthing mother How Kim's own experience as a young mother and caretaker of her siblings, informed her practice as a doula Kim's experience with two family members who came down with COVID 19 Mothering and doula-ing during a pandemic The implications for birthing mothers during a pandemic Why more moms are birthing at home right now Kim's experience with young motherhood and postpartum depression Why we ALL need support pre and postnatally as moms How to inform and educate ourselves about birth and postpartum mental health Why we should speak up if we are experiencing postpartum depression, OCD or anxiety Why our partners might not understand postnatal mental health concerns Why Kim is passionate about helping mamas and why she believes we all need MORE support than we think Mamas!
