Dazu kam die Netflix-Komödie "Rumspringer" und der zweite Teil von "Manta Manta" im Jahr 2023. fWotD Episode 2433: The Masked Singer (American TV series) Welcome to featured Wiki of the Day where we read the summary of the featured Wikipedia article every day.The featured article for Tuesday, 2 January 2024 is The Masked Singer (American TV series). The Masked Singer (abbreviated as TMS) is an American reality singing competition television series that premiered on Fox on January 2, 2019. It is part of the Masked Singer franchise which began in South Korea and features celebrities singing songs while wearing head-to-toe costumes and face masks concealing their identities. Hosted by Nick Cannon, the program employs panelists who guess the celebrities' identities by interpreting clues provided to them throughout each season. Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy Wahlberg, Nicole Scherzinger, and Robin Thicke appear in each episode and vote alongside an audience for their favorite singer after all performances have concluded. The least popular is eliminated, taking off their mask to reveal their identity. To prevent their identities from being revealed before each prerecorded episode is broadcast, the program makes extensive use of code names, disguises, non-disclosure agreements, and a team of security guards. While television critics have had mixed reviews for the series and particularly negative opinions of its panelists, the costumes have attracted praise. Inspired by haute couture, they were designed in the first six seasons by Marina Toybina, who won a Costume Designers Guild Award and a Creative Arts Emmy Award. Other production staff won or received nominations for various labor union awards, and the show has won or been nominated for awards presented by the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, Critics Choice Association, and Hollywood Critics Association. The first five seasons received the highest Nielsen ratings for a non-sports program in the key demographic of adults 18–49. Two spin-offs—an aftershow and a dance version, The Masked Dancer—followed as a result. The growth of the Masked Singer franchise has been credited to the show's success, as has an interest in adapting similar South Korean reality television series and other television formats centered on costumes. Media and merchandise associated with the series includes a podcast, clothing, accessories, NFTs, and a stage show. In May 2023, the series was renewed for a tenth season, which premiered in September 2023. In September 2023, an eleventh season was announced, which will premiere in March 2024.This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:54 UTC on Tuesday, 2 January 2024.For the full current version of the article, see The Masked Singer (American TV series) on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm Kevin Neural.
Unlike some DJs, Liz and Ben do take requests - like this month's short story! They're joined by comedian and DJ Andrew McClelland to spin discs with the soul collector, as they discuss Terry Pratchett's 1989 short story “Turntables of the Night”. John, one half of the “Hellfire Disco” mobile DJ business, is helping the police with their enquiries. His latest gig, a fairly sedate Halloween party, did not go smoothly - and it all revolves around a mysterious visitor to the dancefloor, who had an unusual request for DJ Wayne... Written for Diana Wynne Jones' 1989 collection of original fiction Hidden Turnings, “Turntables of the Night” came to Pratchett title first. It's a spooky tale of obsession, records, music and death - or rather Death, appearing outside the Discworld for perhaps the first time in Pratchett's writing. Is this fantasy or horror? Did Pratchett really know who Ian Curtis was? Who did he call up to get insight into the DJ trade? What would Death ask you to curate for him? Who would be the crown jewel in his collection now? And which of Pratchett's other short stories do you want us to devote an entire episode to? Join in the conversation using the hashtag #Pratchat72 on social media. Guest Andrew McClelland (he/him) is a writer, comedian and DJ who has often mixed in his other loves, like history, music, DJing and Gilbert & Sullivan, to create the “niche” nerdy and gentlemanly comedy for which he's known. Andy has also frequently collaborated with #Pratchat38 guest Lawrence Leung. As a DJ, Andy works constantly in Melbourne and did indeed open for Cher during her 2018 Australia and New Zealand tour. His club night Andrew McClelland's Finishing School doesn't run as regularly as it used to, but as of this episode it has a 15th anniversary night on 10 November, and an annual 90s night on 24 November. Find Andy on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter (if you must) or at his website djandrewmcclelland.com. Finishing School is on Facebook. As usual, you can find notes and errata for this episode on our website. Next episode we get into the Hogswatch spirit by opening an entire book of season stories, as we discuss the 2017 collection of Pratchett's children's fiction, Father Christmas's Fake Beard. You can send us questions about any of the stories (which we'll list on our website for reference), or about the book in general, using the hashtag #Pratchat72 on social media. Or send them in via email to chat@pratchatpodcast.com.
All David's presentation skills coaching clients tell him the same thing. That 'their' speaking/clients/products/service is unique and different to everyone else's. But in reality, the basic principles behind great presenting are the same whether it is speaking at a Board meeting of a billion dollar company or being the compere of a Masked Dancer event at a conference, both things that David has prepared clients for in just the last two weeks. In this episode, David shares how to get the basics nailed down so you can be a presentation rockstar, whatever the audience and whatever the talk.
Newswatch is back which gives the opportunity for viewers to criticise the news coverage....the complaints ranged from the ridiculous coverage of our "heatwave" and the forthcoming energy price rises.....both being on at the top of the news day after day........and the unnecessary coverage of child violence on the 6p.m. news......needless to say there was no BBC News representative available to comment. Then we have the devastating floods in Pakistan watching the suffering and hardships it brings as they reach out for help......as we watch the spaceship preparing to go off to the moon....say no more. The handwritten lyrics to David Bowie's "Starman" have been found which will sell for thousands.....it's a piece of paper .....but obviously it means so much more to those who see so much in it......or think they do. As there was absolutely nothing worth watching on TV last SaturdayI thought I would watch something I've never seen....The Masked Dancer.....where celebs dress up in costumes and hide their face and dance in front of a panel of talentless celebs who have to guess who the dancer is........to say it's the biggest load of rubbish I have ever seen would be an understatement.....as bad as it gets.....that is an hour and a half I will will never get back .................followed by "The Voice" where hopefuls come on and sing behind a row of celebs...after we have heard their sob stories... the celebs spin around if they like them.....absolute garbage....but at least it's on ITV so I'm not paying for it. I felt it was time to look back at some of the hits from the good old days and came across this one....those of a certain age moan about modern music so I though we could feature this song.....which was actually a hit back in the day.....it is so bad it should serve as a reminder that we never got it right all the time.....Jess Conrad singing "Cherry Pie"
This podcast covers New Girl Season 3, Episode 12, Basketsball, which originally aired on January 14, 2014 and was written by Rebecca Addelman and directed by Lorene Scafaria. Here's a quick recap of the episode:Jess tries to bond with Coach by pretending to like basketball which leads to a feud with Nick. Meanwhile, Winston shadows Schmidt at work while he's training a new guy!We discuss Pop Culture References such as:BASKETBALL - This episode features many basketball references as the premise deals with Jess becoming a Detroit Pistons fan to befriend Coach, despite the fact that Nick's favorite team is their rivals, the Chicago Bulls. October to JuneDetroit PistonsChicago BullsPistons vs Bulls Rivalry Michael JordanTom ThibodeauJosh SmithScottie PippenAdditional Pop Culture References such as:Disposable Camera - Nick took “sexy, sensual, private pics” on a disposable camera for Jess. A disposable camera is a simple box camera meant to be used once. Most use fixed-focus lenses. Some are equipped with an integrated flash unit, and there are even waterproof versions for underwater photography. The height of the flash-equipped disposable cameras craze was around 2005. [Edward] Snowden - Nick said he didn't want his “sexy, sensual, private pics” to be on his phone because he didn't want them “beamed right into Snowden's pocket”. Edward Joseph Snowden is an American former computer intelligence consultant who leaked highly classified information from the National Security Agency (NSA) in 2013, when he was an employee and subcontractor. His illegal disclosures prompted a cultural discussion about national security and individual privacy.Guy Fieri - Nick titled one of his “sexy” pics the “Guy Fieri”. Guy Ramsay Fieri is an American restaurateur, author, and an Emmy Award winning television presenter. He co-owns three restaurants in California, licenses his name to restaurants in New York City and Las Vegas, and is known for hosting various television series on the Food Network. He's also known for his iconic spiky bleached hair and goatee look. Paula Abdul - When Jess was trying to tempt Nick during their sex stand-off, she started reading what a piston does and Nick said he was doing “a little Paula Abdul stuff.” Paula Julie Abdul is an American singer, dancer, choreographer, actress, and television personality. She began her career as a cheerleader for the Los Angeles Lakers, later choreographed music videos for those like Janet Jackson, and soon thereafter had a successful career as a musician. Abdul was also one of the original judges on the television series American Idol, and has since appeared as a judge on The X Factor, Live to Dance, So You Think You Can Dance, and The Masked Dancer. Training Day - Winston shares that Training Day is his favorite movie. Training Day is a 2001 American crime thriller that focuses on two LAPD narcotics officers over a 24-hour period in the gang-ridden neighborhoods of Westlake, Echo Park, and South Central Los Angeles. The film received numerous accolades and nominations, with Denzel Washington's performance earning him the Academy Award for Best Actor and Ethan Hawke being nominated for Best Supporting Actor. When Jess and Nick are exploring what rivalries are, they mention a few rivals: Yankees & Red Sox - Like the Detroit Pistons and Chicago Bulls, the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox major league baseball teams are arguably the fiercest rivalry in sports. In 1919, Red Sox owner Harry Frazee sold star player Babe Ruth to the Yankees, which was followed by an 86-year period in which the Red Sox did not win a World Series. This led to the popularization of a superstition known as the "Curse of the Bambino,” which was onte of the most well-known aspects of the rivalry.Jean Valjean & Javert - Both Jean Valjean and Javert are fictional characters from Victor Hugo's novel Les Misérables. The story's main character, Jean Valjean, struggles to lead a normal life after serving a prison sentence for stealing bread to feed his sister's children during a time of economic depression and various attempts to escape from prison. Javert is a prison guard and then a police inspector, and his character is defined by his legalist tendencies and lack of empathy for criminals of all forms. Valjean and police Inspector Javert, who repeatedly encounters Valjean and attempts to return him to prison, have become archetypes in literary culture. Hamlet - The Tragedy of Hamlet, Prince of Denmark, often shortened to Hamlet, is a tragedy written by William Shakespeare. Set in Denmark, the play depicts Prince Hamlet and his revenge against his uncle, Claudius, who has murdered Hamlet's father in order to seize his throne and marry Hamlet's mother. This episode we discuss which one of us is most likely to fake being into something to make friends, steal someone's idea, have loose olives under your bed, and not support your partner's team. We cover the moment where Schmidt shares that Ed out-sharked him to Cece and Winston as our “Schmidtism” this episode. For “Not in the 2020s” we chat about the men vs women dynamics and some of the ageism. For “Yes in the 2020s” we discuss the moment where Nick yells out how he was going to respectfully take Jess. We also give a brief look into Bob Gunton (Ed), the Guest Star we feature in this episode. Also in this episode were the following guest stars who we do not discuss in the podcast: Gillian Vigman (Kim - Previously Discussed in S1E12), Selina Kaye (Waitress), and Adam Michna (Bar Patron). We also chat about how the writers landed on this plotline but we did not find the bear this episode. While not discussed in the podcast, we noted other references in this episode including:Half Nelson - One of the poses that Nick photographs himself in he calls the “Half Nelson”. The half nelson is a wrestling hold in which one arm is thrust under the corresponding arm of an opponent and the hand placed on the back of the opponent's neck. Most coaches refer to it as the easiest but most effective move in folkstyle wrestling, and it is very commonly used. This episode got an 7/10 rating from both Kritika and Kelly and both had the same favorite character: Nick! Thanks for listening and stay tuned for Episode 13!Music: "Hotshot” by scottholmesmusic.comFollow us on Twitter, Instagram or email us at whosthatgirlpod@gmail.com!Website: https://smallscreenchatter.com/

In diesem Sinne: Buongiorno! Bang! Hach. Unser Oli.
Oh my God we're back again! Was passiert beim Afrika-Cup? Was kommt nach Masked Dancer?
00:00:00 – Teaser 00:01:45 – Wetten, dass…? vs. The Masked Singer 00:09:50 – The Masked Singer 00:19:50 – The Masked Dancer ab Januar 00:24:10 – Wer ist das Phantom? 00:30:50 – X-Faktor: Das Unfassbare 00:54:40 – Let's Love – Eine Hütte voller Liebe 01:02:15 – Prominente Adams und Evas bekannt 01:08:10 – Alles neu beim ESC-Vorentscheid 01:11:55 – MAITHINK X 01:18:50 – Spiel, Satz, Sieg 01:24:10 – Social Media Fernsehen für alle — Der Gronkhstradamus unter den deutschen Fernsehpodcasts. Starting with performing at Carnival, to working in the Paralympics, and also working for Modern Dance in Chicago.[07:20] Glauco expresses his awe every time he visited Rio as a kid, comparing it to being in Times Square for the first time. [09:47] Glauco gives us a rundown of his initial contact with a ballet which was getting his first job in a dance company in Rio where he was lucky enough to have a director who believed in him. Although he does admit that he hated ballet at first.[12:49] Glauco begins to immerse himself into the ballet by studying its history which is where he discovered his favorite dancer, Rudolf Nureyev.[17:37] Glauco reveals how he relates to Rudolph's struggle; the diversity he had to overcome by being gay, the humble beginnings, his grit in following his dreams. [19:36] Glauco shares the difficulties growing up in Brazilian culture that is traditionally machismo and suppressive, and evangelical.[21:51] Gluaco expresses his relief and gratitude for finally living in a place that allows him to be free and is encouraged to live out his dreams.[26:00] Glauco moves to New York where he feels a burning desire to do more than dance, something that allows the human connection. [38:46] Glauco and Jay discuss how people don't change without new experiences which also means you cannot judge people without people having a chance to be confronted in what they believe in.[40:30] Glauco confesses how therapy was his savior in overcoming and accepting past trauma. He feels that the only way to help others in seeking mental help is by setting the example.[42:58] Charity: Disciple Actors Guild; helps performers pay their rent and bills [46:01] Glauco shares heartwarming messages he has received on social media [48:34] Jay and Glauco discuss the very prominent body dysmorphia in dance and how we judge ourselves to the worst degrees.[51:00] Plugs: 2 short films that will be out in June. I can be myself. it's like everything is in favor of me”“If there's 50% of love… try to nurture that 50%” Glauco Araujo is a Brazilian-born professional dancer and actor trained both here in the U.S. and in Brazil. In Rio, Glauco danced with the Rio Dance Company (modern dance), as well as with the integrated dance company ANDEF (disability dance). In 2012, Glauco represented Brazil in the closing ceremony of the Paralympic games in London. And from 2015 to 2017 Glauco acted and danced lead roles at Momenta Dance Company with a repertoire including Doris Humphrey, Martha Graham and Charles Weidman, as well as classic choreographers like August Bournonville, Mikhail Fokine, Jules Perrot and Marius Petipa; and disability choreographers Alice Sheppard and Ginger Lane. At Momenta, a dance piece entitled Meloudious Marco was created for Glauco in which he was featured in the lead role of Marco. Glauco was drawn to NYC in early 2017 and was given a scholarship in at Alvin Ailey from 2017 to 2018. In 2018, he was the featured dancer in Aria, a duet choreographed for him by Pedro Ruiz, with live accompaniment by the Camerata NY Orchestra. Glauco danced and acted the following year in Sasha Spielvogel's new musical Come Back Once More So I Can Say Goodbye — a celebration of the 50th anniversary of Stonewall. Glauco's next featured role was in Joshua Bergasse's musical A Crossing, performed with Barrington Stage Company. Glauco has teamed several times, beginning in 2018 to the present, with the award-winning German dancer/director Severine Reisp. Their films have been recognized in a number of international film festivals: A Tango to Remember– Best Romance Film, Los Angeles Film Awards; Best Woman Filmmaker, The Atman Film Festival; Cinematic Award Winner, Cyprus International Film Festival; Ruminate– Best Musical and Best Dance Choreography, Oniros Film Awards; Best Musical/Dance Film, Los Angeles Film Awards. This music video won Best Music Video at the Athens International Digital Film Festival Award. On TV, Glauco most notably had a featured comic role in a promo commercialfor Betty in New York, and last January Glauco played the devious Pawnbroker on The Investigation Discovery Channel in Homicide City: Charlotte. Drawn to the New York theater scene, Glauco has worked nonstop onstage for the past three years, working often with Triangle Theater and The Snarks, ACC and EAG. His New York debut was as the romantic lead, Peter Latham, in Pierre Barillet's Forty Carats. His comic turn was followed by his hilarious performance as the effete Bob Lamb in Tina Howe's Museum. In a series of scene nights, Glauco's range has covered the hot-headed role of Ken in John Logan's Red, the sweet-hearted Cornelius in Thornton Wilder's The Matchmaker, the deceptive Morris Townsend in Ruth and Augustus Goetz's The Heiress, and the diabolic Adolf Eichmann Raul Wallenberg's Saved Me. In Soledad Bailada y Casi Compartida, presented at the University of Seville, and on tour around Spain. Glauco has been thrilled to work alongside Broadway and West End actors Anthony Newfield, Alison Fraser and Karen Archer in Richard Alleman's new play Adrift, playing the Brazilian, and provocative Zumba instructor, Flavio. Glauco has been honored to be part of special performances to benefit the Episcopal Actors' Guild and the Cape May Stage. Reviewed in the Times Square Chronicles, “Betsy (Alison Fraser) longs for something more, alongside interactions of the less virtuous kind with the handsome and sweet-talking Flavio, played seductively by the appealing Glauco Araujo (Spielvogel's Come Back Once More).” Recently, Glauco performed in a short bio-pic entitled Dance for Freedom directed by Severine Reisp, highlighting the challenges people of color face today, and which has garnered recognition as the First-Place Recipient of the Dr. David Milch Foundation/CCNY Award in short film competition. In her review, juror Timberkly Whitfield, program executive and producer for A&E, as well as a host on the History Channel and A&E, wrote: “Glauco Araujo is a beautiful dancer and you capture him in such a way that really moved me. I felt inspired by his story that even in the face of racism he doesn't see himself as a victim. Strong production values. You checked all the boxes on this one — FANTASTIC!” Link from past Interviews http://diversityrulesmagazine.com/2021/02/28/march-feature-interview-glauco-araujo/http://www.ourtownny.com/news/the-universal-language-of-the-arts-YE1547010https://elespecial.com/glauco-araujo-el-bailarin-que-ha-conquistado-de-brasil-new-yorkhttps://www.noticiali.com/glauco-araujo-sobreviviendo-a-traves-de-la-creatividad/
Kommt da noch was? 00:00:00 – Teaser 00:02:00 – GNTM & Let's Dance 00:06:00 – Princess Charming 00:22:05 – Ex on the Beach 00:31:10 – M.O.M. 00:42:10 – Influencer:innen beraten die Obert 00:43:40 – The Masked Dancer bald in Deutschland? „Paul! Was kommt als nächstes? The Masked Dancer? The Masked Chef? The Masked Bachelor? Back to the roots. Frohe Ostern euch allen! I actually did it! I followed through and did a second episode! Sorry for the bad quality of episode one; I learned some things after listening back and tried to fix some of it for this episode (like the lip-smacking, which was because I was eating Sweet Tarts #notsorry). Speaking of which, this week I talk about the cancellation of two long-running CBS shows; ABC's newest game show; and the potential revival of a recently-canceled broadcast series on Paramount Plus. Then I recap and dissect why The Masked Dancer didn't really work for me and how the top three fared in the finale, followed by another discussion of producer intervention on this week's episode of RuPaul's Drag Race: Social Media: The Unverified Rusical. Then I wrap it up with a running list of this week's premieres and finales before leaving you with my recommendation for the week: season 11 of RHONJ (that's The Real Housewives of New Jersey for all of you who aren't Bravo obsessed). Brian Austin Green Returns to the show! We talk about The Masked Singer & The Masked Dancer, before discussing our hopes for 2021, family life and the current climate in America. #maskeddancer #maskedsinger #90210 #QuarantineLife #BAG
Brian Austin Green is a panelist on the hit tv show The Masked Dancer. He's appeared in countless television shows, but it's his role as David Silver on the series Beverly Hills 90210 that brought him mainstream recognition over 30 years ago. This week we sit down to discuss the challenges of self growth and career reinvention, some misconceptions about fame, and why nostalgia for 90's hip-hop is completely justified.
Special bonus episode to go over Brian Mcknight's recent appearance on the Fox Network primetime show The Masked Dancer. Much like Mcknight on the show, we decided to step out into unfamiliar waters to tackle this topic. Lot's of laughs and gasp and Long shares his brief personal history with TV talent competition.
Hilary and TJ discuss people who hated the final season of Game of Thrones. But mostly the final season of Game of Thrones. Again. And then, for a little bit, talk about The Masked Dancer, the weirdest show on TV.
Middle of the week and the crew was feeling the wrestling vibes as energy around the office here at B Real Tv was STRONG. From hanging tough and being a legend, the podcast bring up God Father coming in tomorrow and talk about their favorite wrestling memories.Bobo wraps up the podcast with a story of his girlfriend making him dinner the night before and she did not tell him while making it but she made Bobo INFUSED canna butter rice. After going for second plate because he enjoyed the rice so much she then let him know it was infused and Bobo had no choice but to enjoy the ride. B-Real was reminded of having a bong session with a friend and one time he got too high he actually starting getting anxiety he had to drive home with the windows down just to relax. E-Zone purposed what if B got home and the same thing happen but he was made dinner infused and just watched the Masked Dancer with wifey. The next day his friend starts laughing when B-Real had to explain to him he got too high last night and he filled him in there was HASH at the bottom of the bowls. email contest info and art work to @KieroLovesYou at BrealTvContests@gmail.com or join on discord https://discord.gg/fYPTDTGbe sure to follow us at @brealtv on instagram as well!Follow the whole team on social media (Instagram links below)@BREALTV @Breal @ezonedafirm @cminusfan4 @eric_bobo @mosaimusic @morningshotfilms @KieroLovesYou @koltenhagen @privatefoto @VoteForDro

Mayor Wilson, Elizabeth Smart on the Masked Dancer and more!
The regular panelists had to forge ahead without esteemed colleague Kathryn VanArendonk in our discussion of Dickinson's second season; that's the bad news. The good news is, we all like Apple TV's imagining of poet Emily Dickinson's life and loves with lots of swearing and twenty-first-century slang. How DOES the show balance the demands of historical fact with flights of fancy, and not take itself too seriously? And are Season 2's creepy [character spoiler redacted] the key to its success? Later, we went Around The Dial with The Masked Dancer, Everything Is Going Great, Cheers Season 5, Mr. Mayor's debut, and Lupin and other "Pringle mysteries." A new detective franchise won, an old HBO franchise lost, and we continued the episode's verse theme with the Tara-crafted Tube Tunes VII. Pass Nobody an earbud for an all-new Extra Hot Great. I usually upload on Saturdays, BUT. Ha. My mom always taught me to be mindful of when and how I use the word "but." Today, I want to encourage us all to do the same. If this episode stirs a but in you, I'm not kidding when I ask you to take it to Jesus instead of my social media platforms or email. His feet is the best place to lay all of those anxieties, frustrations and much, much more. --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/thejamiegracepodcast/message
