We open this week’s Shoot Around with the wild story out of Ohio: 49ers owner Jed York getting caught up in a prostitution sting over a $140 ad, and the guys break down why guys with that kind of money still make choices like that. That leads into a detour on Flock license-plate cameras popping up everywhere, capped off by a city hall speech from a guy in a full Darth Vader costume that has to be heard to be believed. From there it's Target's Halloween costume controversy - the one that got pulled and forced a public apology - which turns into a rundown of the worst, most tone-deaf costumes the guys have personally witnessed. There's also a detour into kids' shows sneaking jokes in for the parents, courtesy of a very memorable Bluey-style clip about the letter N. We close out with a start-bench-cut sent over from Clutch Points: SGA, Luka Doncic and Anthony Edwards. Nobody wants to do it, but somebody's gotta cut a superstar. 00:00 Friday Shoot Around Kickoff (Rob's on Birthday Break) 00:38 NFL Owner Jed York's $140 Prostitution Sting 03:42 Flock Cameras & the Darth Vader City Hall Rant 06:08 Target's Halloween Costume Controversy & Worst Costumes 10:05 Kids' Shows Sneaking in Jokes for the Parents 12:05 Start, Bench, Cut: SGA, Luka & Ant-Man 17:03 Wrap-Up & Where to Find the Show
What does it mean to age faithfully in a culture obsessed with staying young? This week on the 9941 Podcast, Granger Smith, AntMan, Tyler, and Parker explore testosterone replacement therapy (TRT), gray hair, modern medicine, body stewardship, and the Christian response to aging and mortality. Drawing from Romans 8 and 2 Corinthians 4, the guys discuss matters of conscience, caring for the body without idolizing youth, and allowing life’s limitations to deepen our dependence on Christ. The conversation ultimately asks a bigger question: Whether facing sickness or health, success or struggle, how can Christians remain faithful with everything God has entrusted to them?Follow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

This week we wrap up our Marvel Phase 2 cask by shrinking down to a minuscule size to talk about Ant-Man. Journey with us as we discuss this odd adventure in the MCU and how the characters and inventions set up many things going forward in this cinematic universe, while also diving into the long road to get this movie made. Does Phase 2 go out on a strong note or is Ant-Man one of the weaker Marvel properties? So pour some rye, grab a case of Pym Particles, and get ready for an ant sized adventure. Cheers!
A listener writes in struggling to quit marijuana, torn between wanting to stop and feeling like she can't. Granger, AntMan, Tyler, and Parker dig into what the Bible actually says about being "sober minded," the difference between medical use and using a substance to numb pain, and how to tell if someone needs encouragement or the gospel. The conversation moves through Romans 12:2, Matthew 25, faith versus modern psychedelic "healing" trends, and practical steps for breaking an addiction, including accountability, replacement habits, and leaning on the local church. A real, unfiltered conversation about faith, addiction, and trusting God when obedience feels hard. This week on the 9941 Podcast, Granger, AntMan, Tyler, and Parker tackle one of the hardest questions a Christian can ask: What does the Bible say about suicide? Together, they explore what Scripture teaches about suffering, depression, hope, spiritual warfare, mental anguish, and the value of every human life. Through passages like Psalm 42, 1 Kings 19, Hebrews 4, and more, the conversation points listeners to the compassion of Christ, the promises of God, and the hope that remains even in life's darkest moments. Whether you've wrestled with these questions personally or you're walking alongside someone who has, this episode offers biblical encouragement, thoughtful discussion, and a reminder that no valley is deeper than the grace of Jesus.Follow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Send us Fan MailAngelo, Rhea, and Jay are back, and this week they're leading with a number Hollywood can't stop staring at: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey stormed to a $264 million worldwide opening, and it's the first movie in history shot ENTIRELY on IMAX cameras. IMAX posted a record $52 million opening weekend and grabbed nearly a quarter of the entire domestic box office — the third-best share ever, behind only Nolan's own Interstellar and Oppenheimer. Is all-IMAX the future of movies, or does the fact that it can't scale prove the exact opposite?THEN: Off Angelo's Power Ballad review comes the debate that splits the room: Paul Rudd and Jason Bateman might be the same actor. Same lane, same dry everyman charm, same squeaky-clean off-screen reputation, with only a couple of exceptions each (Bateman went dark with Ozark, Rudd went blockbuster with Ant-Man). Two of the most bulletproof nice guys in the business — but who's actually had the better career? And who else lives in the "same character every single role" club?ALL THAT PLUS: VPNs explained, British Corner, and much MUCH more!MAKE SURE TO VISIT OUR SPONSOR: Steven Singer Jewelers! The TV Show is a weekly podcast hosted by Jay Black, with regular guests Angelo Cataldi and Rhea Hughes. Take 240: What's NewBig week. Jonathan and JP are back and there's a lot to get into.List It or Nix It kicks things off with seven fresh trailers — Mayday, I Play Rocky, The Uprising, Behemoth, The Other Mommy, Bad Apples, and Doomsday all go through the gauntlet. In What We've Been Watching, Jonathan saw The Odyssey and then apparently went on a full childhood cinema tour — Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Pagemaster, Harriet the Spy, Stuart Little, Shark Tale, and Zathura. JP brings Project Hail Mary, Lawrence of Arabia, After Hours, and The Odyssey to the table, with House of the Dragon and Silo on the TV side. Then the news, and it's a good one this week. The Odyssey opened to $124.5 million domestically and $264.1 million globally — Nolan's biggest worldwide opening ever, beating The Dark Knight Rises. The only films that opened bigger this year are Toy Story 5 and The Super Mario Galaxy Movie. Jon Bernthal filmed the Trojan Horse sequence submerged in cold water, Nolan offered to pull him out, and Bernthal's response was essentially: try harder. The film has no real competition until Spider-Man on July 31, which gives it room to run on a $250 million budget that needs the legs. And then — the Avengers: Doomsday trailer dropped this morning. First proper look at Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom. Thor rallying heroes, closing with "we need a miracle" before turning around stunned at a "hey pal." Channing Tatum as Gambit. Cyclops, Mystique, Ant-Man, the Fantastic Four, the Wakandans. Tickets on sale now. Opens December 18. The SDCC Hall H panel is Saturday — further reveals expected. It's a good time to love movies.

What makes a worship song truly biblical? This week on the 9941 Podcast, Granger, Tyler, Parker, and AntMan tackle one of the biggest conversations in today’s church: should worship songs be chosen for how they make us feel, or for how faithfully they proclaim the gospel? From classic hymns to modern worship music, the guys discuss what Scripture says about singing, why theology in our lyrics matters, and why the “Froot Loops vs. steak” debate might be more important than it sounds. If you’ve ever wondered what makes worship God-centered instead of man-centered, this conversation is one you won’t want to miss.Follow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
What happens when film directors reject Hollywood realism and start treating the movie screen like a hand-drawn comic book page?In this special One Shot episode, Laramy is joined by his co-host and wife, Bethany, to break down the concept of Panel-to-Frame Grammar. We aren't talking about movie reviews or standard comic adaptations—we are diving deep into the visual pacing, structural continuity, and framing tricks that original films steal straight from the world of sequential art.Join us as we discuss:Wes Anderson and the rigid, symmetrical "flat page" design of masterpieces like The Fantastic Mr. Fox.Edgar Wright's hyper-kinetic editing rhythm in Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and how it paved his way to Scott Pilgrim and Ant-Man.How The Wachowskis literally had to pitch The Matrix to studio executives as a 600-page comic book storyboard to get it made.Kevin Smith's View Askewniverse (Clerks, Mallrats) and how he mapped the DNA of comic book continuity onto live-action indie cinema.Do you prefer a movie that looks like a comic book page, or one that breathes like a comic book universe? What happens when a well intentioned evangelism tool starts shaping the way we think about Jesus? In this episode of the 9941 Podcast, Granger Smith, Parker, and AntMan tackle the growing trend of the “Little Jesus” figurines and ask an important question: Are we unintentionally reducing the majesty of Christ to something small and sentimental? The episode also discusses the importance of belonging to a local church, receiving biblical accountability, and keeping Christ at the center of our lives. The NBA decided not to wait. Before the 2026 draft even got underway, the league flipped on its head — and Rob Jenners, Robert Horry, and B-Dog are here to make sense of all of it on Episode 265 of the Big Shot Bob Podcast. The big story: Giannis Antetokounmpo is headed to the Miami Heat. The guys break down the full package Milwaukee got back — Tyler Herro, Kyle Lowry, Jaime Jaquez Jr., three first-round picks including the 13th overall, and more — and debate whether Miami actually pulled off a heist or just handed Pat Riley a roster puzzle he has to solve before training camp. Seven-time champion Robert Horry has thoughts on all of it, including the part where the Heat now need to figure out a bench situation in a hurry. Then there's Jaylen Brown. He was reportedly part of Boston's pitch to Milwaukee, and now that Giannis ended up somewhere else, what exactly do the Celtics have on their hands? The guys dig into whether that relationship can be repaired, whether JB's Twitch stream has become his de facto press conference, and what three years left on a big contract actually means when a player wants out. Minnesota gets its own segment — and not in a good way. Julius Randle is gone to Brooklyn, Ant Man's frustration has been an open secret for a while, and the Timberwolves are burning through roster pieces faster than they're building anything. The guys ask the obvious question: what are you actually doing over there? From there it's draft night preview mode — the consensus top four, what the Clippers might do at five, and Rob's take on what Atlanta should be targeting at pick eight. Plus Dusty Mays leaving Michigan (off a national title, no less) to take the Dallas head coaching job, Trae Young locking up a four-year deal in Washington, and what a healthy Trae-plus-AD situation could realistically mean for the Wizards. The Knicks parade happened, and Rob has been to seven of these things. He ranks them. The crew also gives a well-deserved Big Shot of the Week to Simone Kelly, the off-duty EMT who revived an overdose victim during the celebration — and then had to fend off the guy she just saved. They close it out with Shot Clock — Rob can't name more than one beer, Harp rattles off 11 Knicks in 10 seconds, and somebody names Phoenix as a state. It's that kind of show. In this episode of the 9941 Podcast, Granger Smith, AntMan, Tyler, and Parker tackle one of the Bible’s most debated topics: the Nephilim of Genesis 6. Are they giants? Fallen beings? Something else entirely? Rather than chasing speculation, the conversation explores what Scripture actually says, why Christians can become distracted by mysterious topics, and how the Bible consistently points us back to the Gospel. From Genesis 6 and the flood to the coming judgment of God, this episode examines the difference between biblical curiosity and biblical obsession. If you’ve ever wondered about the Nephilim, giants, the Book of Enoch, or how to approach difficult passages of Scripture, this discussion will challenge you to keep Christ at the center and focus on what matters most: the saving message of the Gospel. #9941Podcast #GrangerSmith #ChristianPodcast #Nephilim #Genesis6 #BibleStudy #ChristianFaith #Gospel #BookOfEnoch #BiblicalWorldviewFollow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
It's Marvel Monday and Ant-Man teams up with The Wasp! ABOUT ANT-MAN AND THE WASP As Scott Lang balances being both a superhero and a father, Hope van Dyne and Dr. Hank Pym present an urgent new mission that finds the Ant-Man fighting alongside The Wasp to uncover secrets from their past. AIR DATE & NETWORK FOR ANT-MAN AND THE WASP July 6, 2018 | Theatrical Release CAST & CREW OF ANT-MAN AND THE WASP Director: Peyton Reed Writers: Chris McKenna, Erik Sommers, Paul Rudd Cast: Paul Rudd as Scott Lang/Ant-Man Evangeline Lilly as Hope Van Dyne/The Wasp Michael Peña as Luis Walton Goggins as Sonny Burch Hannah John-Kamen as Ava Starr/Ghost Randall Park as Jimmy Woo Michelle Pfeiffer as Janet Van Dyne Laurence Fishburne as Dr. Bill Foster/Goliath Michael Douglas as Dr. Hank Pym BRAN'S MOVIE SYNOPSIS We open with a flashback to the days when Hank Pym and Janet van Dyne were the original Ant-Man and Wasp. Things are going great until Janet gets trapped in the Quantum Realm, which, as it turns out, is not an ideal vacation destination. Fast forward to after the events of Civil War. Scott Lang is nearing the end of his house arrest and trying to stay out of trouble. Hank and Hope briefly open a tunnel to the Quantum Realm, which somehow causes Scott to have a vision of Janet as a little girl playing hide-and-seek. Instead of questioning any of this, everyone decides it's proof that Janet is still alive. Hope and Hank kidnap Scott, replacing him with a giant ant wearing his ankle monitor. The trio sets out to rescue Janet, but first they need a special part from shady businessman Sonny Burch. Sonny immediately realizes there's money to be made and betrays them, leading to a fight with a mysterious masked woman called Ghost, who steals Hank's entire portable laboratory. Trying to get their lab back, they visit Hank's old partner Bill Foster, who explains that Ghost is actually Ava Starr, the daughter of another former colleague whose experiment went very, very wrong. Ava is now phasing in and out of existence and is constantly in pain. Her plan? Steal Janet's Quantum Realm energy to save herself. The only problem is that doing so might kill Janet. Meanwhile, Janet starts sending messages from the Quantum Realm and provides directions. She warns them they only have a couple of hours before the Quantum Realm decides to strand them for another hundred years. Things get complicated. Sonny learns where they are. The FBI arrests Hank and Hope. Ava steals the lab. It's alot but also nothing. Eventually, Scott helps everyone escape, they recover the lab, and Hank ventures into the Quantum Realm to rescue Janet. He finds her alive, looking surprisingly well for someone who's spent decades trapped in a dimension beyond space and time. What follows is a giant chase across San Francisco featuring shrinking buildings, growing cars, a whole lot of size changing. While Scott and Hope deal with Sonny and Ghost, Hank successfully brings Janet home. Rather than holding a grudge, Janet uses her Quantum powers to stabilize Ava and save her life. In the end, Scott finally completes his house arrest, Sonny gets arrested, Ava and Bill go into hiding, and everyone seems happy. But then the mid-credits scene happens. And it's no longer happy go lucky time. Scott heads back into the Quantum Realm to collect healing energy for Ava. Just as he's ready to come home, Hank, Hope, and Janet all turn to dust thanks to Thanos. Scott is left trapped in the Quantum Realm. Could aliens exist? Why are so many people fascinated by the idea of higher intelligence beyond our world? And what does the Bible have to say about it? This week on the 99.41 Podcast, Granger, Tyler, Parker, and AntMan dive into the buzz surrounding the upcoming film Disclosure Day and explore why stories about extraterrestrial life continue to capture the imagination of millions. As they unpack the movie’s themes, the conversation quickly shifts to a deeper question: What if humanity’s search for something greater is actually pointing us toward the truth already revealed in Jesus Christ? Drawing from passages like John 1, Colossians 1, and Hebrews 1, the team discusses God’s design, eternity written on the human heart, the claims of Christ, and why the gospel remains the most extraordinary event in human history. They also examine how believers can engage with popular culture, movies, and media while maintaining a biblical lens. Whether you’re curious about aliens, fascinated by end-times discussions, or simply looking for a deeper understanding of who Jesus is, this episode challenges listeners to focus less on what the world may be hiding and more on what God has already revealed in His Word. Topics include: Disclosure Day, aliens and Christianity, Steven Spielberg, biblical worldview, truth and culture, Colossians 1, John 1, Hebrews 1, the divinity of Christ, eternity in our hearts, and why Jesus changes everything. In this episode of the 9941 Podcast, Granger, Tyler, Parker and AntMan dive into one of the most common and misunderstood questions in the Christian life: How do I know if I’m called to ministry? What starts as a conversation about calling quickly turns into a powerful discussion on faith, obedience, and what it actually means to desire God. Through real-life stories, biblical teaching, and honest reflection, the guys unpack the difference between duty and genuine love for the Lord. You’ll hear: A raw story of spiritual growth and choosing church over comfort Why obedience to God flows from love, not obligation What to do if you don’t feel a desire for God Practical steps to grow your faith and rekindle spiritual hunger Biblical qualifications for ministry from 1 Timothy 3 The truth about “calling” vs. simply living as a faithful Christian This episode challenges the modern idea of ministry and reminds us that every believer is called to live out their faith daily. Whether you’re questioning your purpose, struggling with spiritual apathy, or considering leadership in the church, this conversation brings clarity straight from Scripture. If you’ve ever wondered what God wants from your life—or why you don’t feel it yet—this episode is for you.Follow the show: Instagram - https://www.Instagram.com/9941thepodcast Facebook - https://www.Facebook.com/9941thepodcast YouTube - https://www.YouTube.com/@9941ThePodcast Online - https://www.9941ThePodcast.com Shop - https://yeeyee.com/collections/faithSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
